This place is Covid Central and Locked Down. Dont put your family here. A uncaring caregiver spread Covid all over to residents. Residents are neglected and malnourished. Resident constantly fall and look beaten. Shame on the lazy caregivers.

Somerford Place has always been a place I have referred families too. They have an amazing staff who care deeply for all their residents as if they were their own loved ones. This community is different from the other memory care communities in town from the outdoor walking paths, butterfly garden and many daily activities that it offers. Did I mention the amazing food they prepare each day! Check them out if you are looking for memory care for your loved ones! ❤️

The best place for those with dementia and Alzheimers. This smaller community allows for more of a personalized care. The latest therapies surround the residents. From the moment they wake up till the time they go to sleep.

I was able to gather all the information I needed in Somerford with the help of the Executive Director Jennifer, she was able to answer all of my questions and even some about the facility during covid and how they were handing it at their building. She was knowledgeable and honest on may parts of the process. Also the building is in a great location compared to other buildings in Fresno.

We were pleased with Blanches and our reception last Monday. Your pleasant demeanor matched your prior telephone etiquette.Were fortunate that Somerford is so close to Fig Garden. The close proximity, especially on a hot day, made the move easier.Our initial favorable impressions came immediately when we met you and Kathy. Youre both very competent, capable, friendly people.Its impressive that there are systems in place that allow the facility to function effectively. We noticed that the staff made quick efforts to acquaint her with other residents.When we left Blanche we felt that she was quickly adjusting to her new caretakers, surroundings and neighbors and will adjust to her new location relatively easily.All things considered, when we drove away, we felt that we had made a good decision to move her to Somerford. The place could have more potential in my opinion if someone could just please do something about that woman Deandras attitude. Its not suitable for that environment. The fact that they even allow someone that unpleasant to remain there for so long baffles me.

When Mom was first diagnosed we moved her here because they came highly recommended, she needed 24 hr. care and my dad and their dog were able to live in the retirement community next door. All of the staff at Somerford are amazing, kind, patient people. My Mom really enjoys all of her Caregivers and the other Residents. Shes had some adjusting to do and Somerford Caregivers have helped her through with their kindness. She really does appreciate each and every one of them. The only reason we are moving Mom to another facility is because we found a place that would accept my Mom (24 hr. care), Dad (doesnt need any assisting yet) and their family dog all living in the same 2 bedroom apartment. The family feels Mom will feel better and not isolated from the family, per say. My only hope is that the Caregivers at the new place are as caring as the Caregivers at Somerford Place. Im feeling very grateful that my Mom has actually improved and adjusted so well this past year while shes been at Somerford and I have the staff to thank for that. THANK YOU

Somerford Place was there to help in my time of need. Jamie and Kathy were so helpful and eased my mind as we went through the process of moving my dad. My dad had to transition, of course, and all the staff have been so helpful and positive through it all. My dad is doing great and it turn I am relieved.

I am a volunteer at Somerford Place and spend time there every week. The staff is exceptional; their care and concern for residents is apparent. Erica and Nicky work hard to keep residents engaged in purposeful activities. They are familiar with residents family histories and are interested in helping each resident to make friends and connections with others.Kathy, the director and Jaime, the marketing director ensure that each neighborhood is clean and well kept.I hope that when I reach a point in my life where I need this kind of care, I will be able to live in a place as welcoming and well run as Somerford in Fresno.

When we moved to Fresno, I started looking for the perfect place for my mother. I found it. My mother moved in last week. The greeting was fit for a queen! I will quote my mother, This place is fabulous and the people are so nice! I conquer!

My mother moved in to their Seaside community in May. Every Tuesday they do a live sing a long that is so touching, beautiful and fun. Every employee participates either by singing or dancing with the residents. The residents have a connection to the songs and will sing, tap to the beat, or dance. It is such a happy time filled with lots of smiles as the singing moves to each of the four communities. On one particular day, I watched a wheel chair bound lady struggling to stand and beginning to get agitated. Erika, an employee walked over and held her hands and the two of them danced together. I wish I could have captured this moment. The love for the woman was evident in Erikas eyes and it was reciprocated by the resident with gratitude for knowing what she wanted and giving her time to feel like her old self by dancing. We all want to hang on to our loved ones at home. However, Somerford is the next best thing. I feel each employee truly cares for the residents. It has a very homey feeling full of love, respect, dignity, and humor. I would highly recommend Somerford to anyone faced with this difficult decision.

Sometimes, finding the right place takes time...and sometimes, you do NOT have time. My sisters and I toured two other Memory Care facilities in the area and were not happy with how our father would fit. Strapped for time, somebody recommended Somerford. What a BLESSING. My dad was NOT on board and I was so worried about how the transition would go - - but I received assurance from the staff at Somerford Place.The first time I met with Kathy and Jamie, they understood the difficult situation we were in and assured me their highly trained staff could deal with it. They wanted to know as much about my Dad as possible, in order to make the move as easy as possible. That was two months ago. I have NEVER regretted the decision and while this journey is never easy, the community at Somerford has made it as smooth as I ever would have imagined.My dads room has NEVER been dirty (as it had been in his prior Assisted Living facility). The staff is always on top of the laundry and that is huge. One time, the staff noticed when my dad had had an accident and they handled it in a calm, cool and NICE manner. Its very difficult when your loved one feels they are more capable than they are - but the staff at SP never make him feel any less important, or any less a person.We feel confident in the health and mental care he is provided, and know that he is safe and well-cared for. SP also promotes family visits and offers a family lunch one day a week where any family are invited to dine and visit with their loved ones. I have received calls from the staff just keeping me up to date on his progress and activities and that is such a refreshing change! I felt like I had to be on top of his health at the prior facility, but truly feel SP is trained and capable of dealing with my dads issues.I cannot recommend Somerford Place any higher that I do. If you are lucky enough to find an opening when you need it, DO NOT HESITATE!

My Mom has been at Somerford Place for 4 months now. From the moment we walked through the doors this felt like a forever home for my Mom. Kathy and Jamie filled us in on everyone’s questions(there are 7 siblings!) not an easy task with so many of us giving our input on how they should care for our Mom. They have continually surprised me with the amount of care they have for each and everyone in the neighborhoods. The willingness of the staff to pitch in with whatever job needs to be done is heartwarming and impressive...Thank you to all staff for making this transition both enjoyable and calming and making us feel like family.

In November I attended an event at Somerford Place that was benefiting the Animal Compassion Team of Fresno. The staff of Somerford made that event run so efficiently and with class. One of the volunteers of ACT has her mom as a resident there and she expressed such sincere gratitude and love for not only creating a wonderful event but how the staff cares for her mom that is living with dementia. There is something to be said about a business that their heart into everything do. If they do this kind of work as a service to the community, imagine what they can do for families.

My mother has been at Somerford for 4 and a half years and I cant say enough wonderful things about the facility and staff. As an RN I know how hard it is to find a good care facility and Somerford is top notch. The staff genuinely cares about my mom and goes the extra mile in caring for her.

We had to place my grandmother here from her home. The staff here goes above and beyond with the care they provide for the residents. Marissa has made my grandmother feel loved and cherished. We have toured several places and have not found anything that compares to the type of loving environment that is created here. They also do a lot to make the families welcome as well. Thank you Somerford for all that you do!

Somerford Place has such amazing staff. They go the extra mile to make sure all their residents are well taken care of. They are like one big, happy family. Their management team takes the time to listen and follow up with any questions or concerns very quickly. Thank you Somerford!

We moved my grandma to Somerford from another facility and she is much calmer, and seems much happier. They have been able to get her in a good routine, which is helping with her sundowning. They are able to redirect her when its needed and never make her do anything she doesnt want to. The staff at Somerford Place are extremely welcoming from the minute you walk in the door, and throughout the neighborhoods they have. Everyone says hello and all the residents seem happy and content. Patrick and Kathy were fantastic at accommodating us to move my grandma quickly. Deondra was out to do her evaluation very quickly and never made my grandma suspect anything strange was going on (as she sometimes can be quite cautious). Once we arrived at Somerford Place with grandma, Erica quickly took my grandma on a tour of the grounds and showed her what they do there while we arranged her room. Grandma bonded with a nurse, Serena, very quickly. Serena has been able to make my grandma very comfortable, even allowing Serena to help her shower, and painted her nails. The entire staff has taken the time to learn what my grandma liked to do in her earlier years and they use that tool to help them create a bond with her. My family and I are continuously impressed with our reports of how grandma is doing in their care.

I have been to several events with my 89 year old mother in law and family and really was impressed with the facility, care takers and the Director was so compassionate with my mother in law. I have recommended Somerford to my friends with aging parents. I appreciate the expertise but mostly and above all the expertise they provide and knowledge.

Somerford Place is a wonderful residence for people with memory issues. The staff is warm and caring and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. The building is neat and clean and the grounds are beautiful! I am thankful there is such a place for loved ones.

Grateful for Somerford Place. Our story began a few years ago when my father became more challenging to care for. We searched several locations around the Fresno/Clovis area and finally decided to go with The Somerford Place. There were a few reasons why, most importantly they provided the care, a clean environment, friendly staff, craft/enrichment exercises and provided various programs that we would be able to participate in too. Their staff helped our family by providing resources and seminars to learn more about Alzheimers and help us better care for him. We grew closer as time went by and we grew closer to the staff too. Somerford Place hosts concerts as a way of giving back to the community. They recently hosted a concert with Eva Scow and The Experience...what a beautiful evening for all of us--and they gave the proceeds to our Greater Fresno Parkinson Support Group! Awesome!

This is a lovely home with caring , personable staff . My dad hasn’t been there very long and we feel like it’s one big family . The staff are genuinely concerned about all the details of the residents life . I love it !

I loved the layout of the building and how much outside walking paths there are. The way the staff treated me and their residents was so personal and kind.
