I have always had positive experiences with CIMA. Neelam Parikh is a wonderful PA and I highly recommend her to all my family and friends. She takes the time to answer my ridiculous WEBMD questions. They draw blood on-site, which is great for those procrastinators like myself. She encourages me to mind my annual evaluations as well!

I work there Sharon is the one that hired me . after about 2 weeks Sharon got fired. The girl niki was excellent but the practice hired her mother and then hired her sister and her sisters boyfriend and friends. Favorism is the problem in this office and then I got moved to records one of the MA keeps going to Karen Steaks and complaining. We have lost 3 MAs and soon to be 2 more leaving this week. Karen Steaks is very unprofessional and all she wants is to hire her people and train them. And also I found out that front desk people were told not show me anything in medical records just show jacak . This office is a joke I will be leaving thus practice this Friday.

I was an employee/patient at this “practice”, I have called and left several voicemails for the new “practice administrator” KAREN STEAK, I finally got to speak to her yesterday but she told me to proceed with “my needs” with the owner Ken McDowell. All I need is my 2018 W2’s. It is my legal right to have a copy. So here I am, writing a review. Maybe this will get his attention. Karen is nasty and unprofessional. This “practice” is a joke, hence why I quit! I will also be reporting her and the practice to the IRS if need be.Word of advice: STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

I’ve have been a patient with Colonial Internal Medicine Associates Fredericksburg’s office for about three years now. First problem was my doctor left and I never received a letter telling us and they just assigned me another doctor. Two you call for refills and they never get it right it takes you about a week or two to get a refill. And three of the most disgusting of all my husband was seen in the emergency room at Mary Washington and they told him to see his primary doctor within 24 hours, and we went to make an appointment and they told us they could not see him until seven days later. I find this very sad. And the last one was they called to confirm my appointment and when I showed up they told me it was moved to another day after I took off from work and everything. I do not recommend this office I would look somewhere else to be seen

Horrible customer service by the front desk staff! “Oh meant to call and couldnt call you in time to tell you your appointment is now in Stafford but you have a grace period to get there so you won’t be charged” The management is in a meeting. This is unacceptable on how to treat your patients. Billing doesn’t return your call. They charge your first visit as established even if they do routine annual testing and get stuck with a huge bill. —the PA was great- staff management and billing rude and unprofessional

I honestly have never witnessed such incompetence from an entire doctors office. Please reconsider going to this place. From the check out desk, to the doctors nurse. We had to beg them to call in depression meds for our child. They let the meds lapse over a week before they called it in. The lady checking us out would not look at me when speaking to me and just had an attitude that she couldnt care less. I really am amazed that they are still in business.

I am not a patient but a family member is and she is extremely upset by their treatment of her health concerns. It went As far as the doctors and nurses asking why she would even come in. For a business that is there to “help” people feel safe and healthy, they certainly dropped the ball. They should never make anyone feel ridiculous for seeking help or information. No one should feel judged when talking to a doctor, but unfortunately that is the message they put across today.

Great team of professionals - from the moment you walk in the door to the time you check out. Administrative staff are a team of champions who work together to make everything behind the scenes turn out right. Always professional and pleasant to work with. Technical team are well trained skilled professionals who clearly love what they do - efficient - polite - provide confidence. Medical staff are the best - caring - knowledgeable and thorough - great communicators - they listen and provide their recommendations and findings efficiently and effectively. Their combined level of expertise provides the confidence you want in a medical group. Their team is so complete that there are very few issues they cant address. Plus having built solid relationships within the community - all of their referrals come with high regards. All of our family members in this area are patients of this practice and we all agree as we have all had same positive experience. CIMAVA should be proud - you have built a dynamic team and it shows. Thank you and keep up the good work!!!

MUNOZ exhibits all the kind of care we hope to give a patient who hurts and needs support for basic and complicated care. Sometimes humbly listening goes a lot further than a diagnosis. Collection letter from lawyer 1 month after psychologist was a no-show.I was a long term patient of Dr. Cindy Marrow at CIMA and had a wonderful relationship with her. Unfortunately, she relocated to the Stafford location and Ive changed primary care providers.Recently, I was in search of counseling and was excited to see CIMA had brought W. Travis Jordan on as a psychologist. I made an appointment to see him. On the appointment day (12/23), my husband and I arrived early. I checked in 10 minutes early. Thirty minutes later, I was still waiting and no one had spoken to me since I arrived nor provided an update to me. I really believe Mr. Jordan was not even in the building. I walked out. No. I did not speak with the receptionist - just like she had not spoken to me since I walked in.On 12/28 - note that that is three days later - I received a bill for $50 for missing the appointment. On 1/4, I responded to the CIMA administrative office (not the secondary company they bill through) letting them know I did not miss the appointment, Mr. Jordan did. Two weeks later, I received a letter from a collection lawyer tacking on an extra fee to the $50.I could have paid the $50. I could have paid the $50 and the lawyers fee.But it is the principle. I am not in fear of them ruining my credit. It cannot be ruined for $50. I will not be unprofessionally treated and then pay for it afterwards.I rarely even read 1 star reviews, but there are a few for CIMA and some relate to this very topic. If there are a few on the same topic, the reader should pay heed to them. This is very unfortunate for what is a pressing need in the Fredericksburg community at this very stressful time in our country.

I had to move my elderly mother here from Texas due to her failing health. I was happy to find a practice that dealt with geriatrics and complicated diagnoses. We found Dr Munoz very attentive and interested in helping her. However, that was a week ago. He assured me that a prescription would be sent to my pharmacy. Munoz also told me that I would be contacted by a company that would be able to come to our home to begin her PT, and OT. To date, Ive heard from no one. Additionally, CVS also never received a prescription for her. Ive left numerous messages for his nurse and none have been returned. Ive tried calling to speak to the front desk and find myself sitting for 15 minutes waiting for someone to answer the phone. Finally, out of desperation I called to speak to the office manger. And hours later, no return call. I find it so sad that we found a doctor we felt comfortable with, one that could handle her many, many complicated health issues but are forced to find another practice due to lack of professionalism from the administrative support staff and nurses.

I have been going to both the Stafford and Fredericksburg offices for years. The PAs at both offices are very good. This is the reason I have afforded two stars because after my last visit to the Fredericksburg office I have lost faith in this practice.I had a new insurance and informed them multiple times that with it I had to have lab work done at particular lab for it to be covered. They assured me they could draw the blood in the office and send it to the lab. This is where the problem begins. It took a month and hours of being on hold, for me to get my results from their office.THEN I RECEIVED A BILL FOR A COUPLE HUNDRED DOLLARS FROM THE LAB.They had sent it to the wrong lab.I called Colonial Medicine numerous times trying to get it sorted. Hours of waiting on hold just to be disconnected, front office staff stating they had spoken to the office manager and that he was looking in to it. I would call back and be transferred to his voicemail and leave messages that were never returned. Waiting days then weeks for him to call me back and not hearing anything so calling the office and starting the cycle again.I was just trying to sort it before the payment was late. Finally, I called the office and told them their manager could either call me back or I would come camp out in their office until he saw me. They told me I could leave him a message. FINE, AGAIN.He answered the phone. OMG, Im actually speaking with him. I gave him my name and asked him where we were with researching the issue and......he had no idea who I was or what I was talking about. At this point I was extremely frustrated with the realization that nothing had been done in all this time to try to resolve this problem, but I did explain that I was calling about the bill I received. He then told me HE DID NOT HAVE TIME TO WORRY ABOUT A BILL. HIS OFFICE WAS TOO BUSY AT THE MOMENT DUE TO COVID-19.Sir, we are all busy. At this point I lost my temper and asked if he thought he was the only one that was busy? Or maybe in the case that he was the only one who was busy did he think that someone could afford to throw away a couple hundred dollars because his office made a mistake and hes too busy to look in to it?He asked me to email him the bill, which I did. He called me back later that week to say I should go ahead and pay the bill so as not to incur any late fees and that I would be reimbursed.Well, he fooled me. Here I was, assuming he had looked into it, seen that his office had made a mistake and was stepping up to correct it.Months later I am still waiting on my money back.I defended this practice to my husband for a long time when he said he was not a fan of their doctors, but in the end he was right again. This practice does not take responsibility for their mistakes and could end up costing you money at the very least.

Which unfortunately for me not only do I now have to pay the bill I have to pay $85 in interested and $65 in lawyer fees. Very disappointed. I will never go back to them again.Just an update I call their accounting office today and explain the situation that I did not get any of the notifications of the bill not being paid they even admitted that some of them will return to sender but could not give me an answer on why I did not receive a phone call once that had happened so I asked the young lady to see if they can pull it out of collections so maybe that the fees would be waived she said she had to talk to her boss and would call me back an hour later she called me back and said that her boss said there was nothing that they could do about it cuz it had been two years even though they seen that the mail had failed to be sent to me or to be received should I say and I asked the girl did your boss actually try or did she just say that she couldnt do anything cuz it had been two years with the girls hesitation I could tell that more than likely the boss did not even try fortunately for me I was able to talk to the lawyers office and they waved all the extra fees unfortunately I had to use my debit card instead of my HSA card but all in all thankfully to the lawyers I only had to pay the initial fee so I guess I wont complain on that part but I was still strongly advised watch your billing stay on top of your payments or this could happen to you

As a Medical Administrator I am disgusted at how I was treated as a patient. I can not describe the unprofessional behavior from their office manager. Went into for urgent care visit which resulted in an orthopedic concern all within 24 hours. Insurance requires I notify my PCP for referral which I did. Physician refused to process referral for my urgent care issue with the response I need a pcp appointment? Not only did they refuse, they even called back to notify me I had to physical come to the practice to find out what is going on. Because I questioned their practices their Manager whom lacks professional leadership skills informed me that this is my problem and guess you are stuck with the Ortho bill? No Primary care should impede your medical care just to claim an office visit from you during an urgent medical need. There are no rules that you need to see the primary and your primary should want to help durning your urgent care needs no exceptions. I will never refer any one to this practice. The poor patient service by Dr Wolanska and Incompetence of administration leadership guiding this practice may be the reason behind their poor reviews and time to do a serious evaluation of their patient experiences. Terrible experience that I would never expect out of any medical facility. There are too many other options in our community for your primary care services, save your time and look elsewhere before scheduling here if you value care and quality. Your health is top priority and there are many physicians in Fredericksburg whom will provide that. Be ashamed Colonial Internal Medicine because I know I will never forget how you treated me when I needed you the most. But don’t worry another Internist who hasn’t seen me stepped in immediately to take care of my urgent needed referrals so that I can medically ensure I am safe, what you all refused to do. By the way please remind the office manager To check their messages, the voicemail was so full it doesn’t even allow you to leave a message. Possibly more complaints not being handled? Sincerely a Medical Administrator whom feels terribly sorry for any other patient whom deals with this type of service.

I have been trying to get a shot for my brittle bones for five months. The last message I received from a colonial medicine nurse Was that the infusion center said I had to be in full blown osteoporosis. I took this as their word for about a month and then thought this just doesn’t sound right as I had had the shot the year before with no problem per the doctor. I called my insurance, the infusion center and everybody says I can get the shot we are just waiting for your doctor to submit your bloodwork which has to be within 30 days. As everybody else has stated in the reviews I have been on hold at times for 35 minutes 15 minutes 20 minutes. I called the office manager and left a threatening message to contact a lawyer and after two months I never heard back. I went in the other day to get a doctors note for something unrelated and asked to speak to the office manager. I talked to him and explained the situation. I have to say I’m not feeling very hopeful. In the time that I have been trying to get the shot for my brittle bones I have broken three bones and had to have surgery and pins put in one of the breaks. I feel the doctors are friendly and good at what they do and the office staff has always been friendly to me. My issue was with the nurse who has seemingly giving me false information or at least that is where the infusion place says the problem lies! I am very lucky I have not fallen and broke something much more serious like an arm or a leg. It’s been a finger that required surgery, a toe and now or rib! I feel bad for the doctors because they are losing customers!!!!!!!! I want to wait and see if I can get this resolved in the next three weeks if they don’t have an answer for me I’m moving to another practice. And what do you want to bet they’ll try to charge me for my medical records!!

I saw Dr. McDowell here for two years. I have a plethora of issues and currently at 29 surgeries and suffer severe neuropathy. I interview doctors before I see them due to all the complexities with my issues. It’s been two years now since I moved on from this doctor but his treatment of me still bothers me and I felt a need to post a review for others. To make a long story shorter, the last few visits I had with him he was condescending to me and basically felt I suffered depression causing my pain. He was arrogant and would not listen to what I was telling him. I was so frustrated I left at the last visit and never returned.Since that last visit, I had a neck fusion and a plate and screws installed which took away a considerable amount of pain but not all and my spinal surgeon was clear about that. He did not believe it would fix all my issues and he was right. Shortly after I had surgery on both shoulders because my biceps were shredded and ripped from my shoulders and had to be reattached with screws under my armpits. They are not even in the place they were meant to be.With all that said, you could have been a better doctor to me and truly tried to help me. Your diagnoses were all wrong and you caused me added suffering and pain. As far as I am concerned you shouldn’t even be practicing medicine because you don’t follow your oath in regard to helping people. If you decided I was too much trouble you could have found a doctor who could have helped me instead of taking my money and berating me.As far as the staff and front desk they were all kind and considerate. I was scheduled for an annual visit and had my blood work drawn in advance. I was fasting and had one other lab drawn there. I dont have a copay for annual visits but received a bill in the mail for one. I called the billing office twice to question it and they said they would take care of it. I never heard back from them until I received another bill. The third bill had a letter attached saying they were going to send this to collections. This is after I left a message for the office manager John who never returned my call. This time I called the front office to speak to someone about coding. The girl who originally scheduled my appointment was there and said she did schedule an annual visit but they billed me for a regular office visit because I asked a few questions to the doctor about my health. Apparently you can only call it an annual visit if you dont ask questions and you have nothing wrong with you. Unbelievable! I have never experienced this in my 40 years of going to the doctor. I also work in the medical field and Im aware of the coding and how they can manipulate it. If they dont decide to change this bill I will be switching to another medical practice for sure. I may anyways. I feel this practice operates like a machine. There are at least five secretaries when you walk in the door. There is nothing personal about it.

I know that about two years ago... the ultrasound was supossed to be done to know if I have any new nodules but I never got an answer about that. The nurse never sent my results to the endocrinologist office to get an appointment so after 2 weeks still no appointment. I called the front office and (Jennifer) the lady that always has an attitude by phone or In person told me that I wasn’t the only pacient waiting for papers to be send...I’ve never been treated so poorly in any doctors office. Just a reminder to these ladies.. you are the office face and you should bring great or at least decent costumer service and treat everyone with respect. I can’t remember the checkout lady that usually is at the left window but she is the sweetest and only person that brings great service. While I sat the first day waiting for my app another two ladies were exchanging experiences they had with the front and nurses and I should have read the reviews and listen to those ladies that first week before setting up my appointment.. I am honestly so sorry to leave this post but Im so frustrated! I have been a patient of Colonial Internal Medicine for several years now but I am truly feeling like my care is completely irrelevant to them. I recently had a call / message from the nurse telling me it was time for me to make an appointment for a routine follow up. I have now tried to call, three days in a row, to make that appointment and I am greeted by a voice message that tells me press #1 to make an appointment. When I press #1 the very same message plays again. Like a crazy merry-go-round. The same thing over and over. Their message tells me they care about their patients but how is that true if the patient is unable to even make an appointment? They also claim on their voice message that same day sick appointments are available, and this is one of the reasons that I joined this practice. But, how would it ever be possible to get a same day appointment if there is not even an option to leave a voice message. Im so frustrated. Beyond Frustrated. I wanted to see my regular Dr. at the Fredericksburg office but cannot get through to make an appointment. So I called the Stafford office and someone answered the phone but put me on hold before I could utter a sound and now I have been on hold for 35 minutes as I write this post. This is the most incredibly rude way to manage a practice or treat people. I can hardly think of anything more offensive. I am also a busy person. How is this good care or customer service? The care I have received in the past from this practice has been very good but I am now at my wits end. Its hard to rate this practice highly if you cannot even get the consideration of a return call. I have now been on hold for 45 minutes and I give up. Im so frustrated. Sure do wish they would call me so we can just move on. At this point I give Colonial Internal Medicine a D-. Ithis

I told her all my issues and she listened and stated we will do blood work and will contact you. Later, I spoke with medical friend and was shock to find out that my issues would not show up in blood work...strike 2 Now, the issues that I went to the doctor about are still not resolved! I lost a day from work. Strike 3 I had to call back and inquire, what about my issues...??? I was informed track your issues for 2 weeks and come back...Really, I tracked them before I came to the visit. If you are really sick please go some where else colonial medical center is not really there to heal the people!!!

I never thought I would use a public forum to express myself but I am so outraged and offended by this practice. Scroll through the negative replies and you will see an overwhelmingly similar theme...the doctors are fairly proficient; however their office staff’s ridiculously unprofessional and rude behavior would never ever be tolerated in any other profession. After initiating several conversations with multiple office staff members regarding the completely unacceptable incoming phone answering service, I found their response to be aggressively defensive with one staff member admitting the system was definitely “broken” and despite staff requests, nothing has been done to remedy the situation. I expressed that I, too, was a professional and could not afford to sit on hold for upwards of 10-15 minutes at a time, only to then be directed to a nurse’s voice mailbox. My insistence that I be treated with respect and compassion led to an increasingly aggressive response. With concern for the possibility of an issue with stroke activity in my brain, I was scheduled to have an MRI, only to arrive to the imaging center to hear someone tell me my physician should have called me to tell me my insurance company denied the test. I forgave that incident but upon rescheduling the MRI at the order of my physician, Dr. Juan Munoz-Gonzales, I repeatedly called the office for the duration of an entire week, attempting to get a peer review for my test. Again, I was treated with aggressive rude behavior as if I was an inconvenience to them. I was actually told, “ Do you think you are the only patient in the practice?” Only after threatening to file a complaint with the Virginia Board of Medicine did the front office staff transfer me to the office manager, John Graham. Mr. Graham apologized repeatedly, saying this was the first he had heard of my plea and insured me he would personally follow up with me. By 4:30 that Friday, he was able to tell me my procedure had been approved. (Please note, during this time, my physician, who specifically asked me to call the office to be sure it was approved, had actually gone on vacation for the week and no one was able to help me until the last minute.). How embarrassing it would have been for me to have shown up for the MRI, only to be told again that it had been denied. Other concerns? Prescriptions that were given to me that were not signed by the doctor, requiring me to return to the office to get the signature...having been disconnected on NUMEROUS occasions, having actually been “forgotten” and skipped over as I waited in an examination room, calling the office for a much needed refill only to be told my doctor had transferred to a new office and the last straw was this past week when I called the office for a prescription refill on a Thursday and attempted to pick it up on Friday...the “cold as ice” receptionist simply stared at me and said, “He hasn’t written it yet.” I politely said that my prescription was due to run out on Sunday and really needed a refill. She said this was not possible “because the doctor was booked solid with patients for the rest of the day” and I would have to wait until Monday. I grit my teeth and left the office. When I returned on Monday, the script was ready...wanna guess when he signed it? The same day I came in to the office, yet I had to wait three more days. Guess what I got in the mail today? A gift...a letter coldly stating, “ the practice no longer has a therapeutic doctor-patient relationship with you. I am going to ask you to find another provider.” How ironic...I never even had a chance to form one. It’s funny how things end...all because of a ridiculously incompetent and self-centered office staff, so narrowly minded that they could not once put the patient first. Thank you, Colonial Internal Medicine. At roughly 2 weeks before Christmas I have to scramble to find a new physician. Sad to say, you will not be missed but certainly you will be a topic of conversation by many for a long time.

I am devastated! I have been a patient for over 10 years. I have referred numerous people to this practice over the years, but never again!! I called to schedule an appointment an was placed on hold. I waited a total of 13 minutes, when I finally hung up and called again. The woman answered and asked to put me on hold again, I said No and try to explain that I had been on hold already for sometime. She rudely interrupted me and asked if it was an emergency, to which I replied No. She said I have other call ahead and rudely switched the line. How unprofessional and rude! I am extremely embarrass for the doctors and PAs that work here for hiring such terrible service people. This is a direct reflection on them and their practice. They will never see another dime from me or my family members that equal 4 other patients.

Dr. Wolanska is a nice doctor; I like her. My complaint is with the nurse assigned to her the day I went in to visit. The nurse condescendingly told me to calm down. Unfortunately I didnt get the nurses name, but felt that was TOTALLY inappropriate for her to say that to me. What nurse says that?! Thats NEVER happened to me. Just because of her bedside manners, I dont want to go back there. Very disappointed to say the least!!

It’s rare I give a negative review and I did in fact just refer this office last month because I love the doctors but my family will not be using these services any longer. After nearly 40 minutes of being on hold I was refused an appointment because I have a past due balance... the issue... the office was reporting to the wrong insurance company. They’ve been given our new insurance several times and they fail to report to the proper company This happens each and every time I try to make an appointment for years. The not so pleasant Jennifer not only hung up on me but also continued to speak over me several times during the conversation. Google and Facebook reviews are not good... and I have experienced why.

I give absolutely no stars -the front staff is horridious extremely rude- have made complaints before and apparently nothing accomplished because they are still rude. Spoke with office manager John and figured where the front staff got the rudeness. A front staff should be welcoming not disrespectful! The office manager told me well they must be doing something right because they have 10-15 new patients call in everyday. Very professional! Then I asked him who his supervisor was and he gave me a name which I didn’t understand him so I asked him to spell it then he talk to me like I was stupid because it’s Dr. McDowell well I apologize I did not understand you that’s not even more reason to get attitude with somebody . I really hope Dr. McDowell reads this and hopefully John will be spoken to that patients no matter if you get 15 new patients a day you still don’t treat your other patients with disrespect .

Sent my mom to her to get a signature on a business document giving me the power to take over her trust as outlined in her documents. I was already her POA and needed this technically taken care of. My mother was obviously demented. I had written a letter outlining what was needed prior to the appointment. The letter was not read and when I called to followup I recieved no phone call for days. When I finally got to the business manager I was told that it was against policy to discuss a patient even if I am her POA and her medical directive agent. I explained that I was 500 miles away and didnt think it was right that their policy was not explained at the time of appointment. Elbert could care less how her office treats its patients. Hey Elbert my mother died from complications from vascular dementia less than a year from your examination. . After difficult delay in getting the documents signed by competent doctors I was able to get control of her affairs. Sadly this doctor does not have patient care as the number one on the policy of business. I have never been so livid with a medical group. My policy is to refer people away from this group as when the chips are down they will be no where to be found. She has been gone a year now and when I have the misfortune of reliving her demise I become angry again at thinking of this incident. An impossible situation compounded by a callous unfeeling doctor.

First off I have NEVER felt the need to leave a negative review for a business until this point. I have never been treated so rudely by a doctors office staff. To be fair I never did meet or speak to a Doctor so I cant comment about them. As for the Office staff Its ok for them to change appointments, but you if you do the start asking questions they start talking about their legal right to charge you, even if you have never been seen there. They never ask why and when you ask a question they accuse you of being rude. The seem more concerned about getting fees than taking care or establishing an arrangement with patients. Then as they tell you they are going to charge you, they say how they are caring and compassionate people.

Terrible Practice with Terrible Customer service. Due to how busy these prestigious doctors are I could not secure an appointment that was less than 4 months out. I had to cancel my appointment with them and payed my cancelation fee (70 dollars!). Upon trying to reschedule later, I was denied an appointment. I was told I would not be a good fit for this practice. because I did not pay immediately. What if I was seriously ill? These people are sharks. They do not care.

My family have been patients with Dr. McDowell for over 20 years. We found out today that Colonial Internal Medicine only keeps records of their patients for 7 years. They do not scan and save any prior to that. With the workload of this office the Dr. could not remember a crucial appointment back in 2007 with my wife. He cannot provide a much needed detail of that appointment. They are nothing more than a meat market that are after your dollars. Will no longer recommend anyone that is serious about having a long term family Doctor that does not have the ability to remember his patients long term history. Steer clear. Get a copy of your medical records every year because Colonial Internal does not care what happened more than 7 years ago......Go figure

Dr. Marrow is a good doctor for diagnosing problems and referring u to another doctor for treatment. If you are on a controlled substance, by no means have 1 problem with it. I went to her practice for years for a anxiety disorder (also cholesterol check ups etc) and 1 time during an emergency situation ( I fainted from low blood pressure from new medication change from a referred doctor and required staples in my head in the emergency room via ambulance). I had my medicine stolen from my purse ( just a few days worth) , she dismissed me like I was a child in a principles office with no emotion. She could have cared less. In the 18 years I have taken medicine for this I have never had medicine stolen. Nor in all the years I went to her practice did I ever have an occasion to approach her in this manner. Also, her new, very young, inexperienced nurse is apt to write wrong information on your chart. On my last visit I was weighed and the weight was put as 100lbs more than my actual weight. If I had been prescribed medication for this weight, it would have killed me. The practice is falling behind from what it was when I first started to go there for semi annual check ups. .You wait much longer to see the dr and she is obviously overburdened. Maybe pick one of the newer doctors there if you want to see someone in this practice or go elsewhere. Be prepared to wait quite awhile and check your chart to make sure information is correct! Also, know that this practice doubles up on appointments. I have seen where a person above me has the same appointment time with the same doctor, hence the long wait. Not a good practice.

I was shopping for a doctor for my elderly mother but, after reading these reviews, I am terrified to go near this place, will look somewhere else. My decision is motivated by the following:I find it inconceivable that staff is allowed to be this rude and incompetent, and also inconceivable that a doctor, as described by several patients, is so arrogant and narcissistic that he cannot have a mature, professional relationship with his patients and allow them to disagree with his opinion or to ask delucidatory questions about his approach to care. This physician should remember that: first and foremost, he is a healer who should have the patients best interest in mind and a person whome people could look up to for guidance, help, support and encouragement.Second; that people are not all ignorant peasants, but intelligent and educated individuals like himself, except their expertises are in other fields. And finally; that patients are his bread and butter and if he continues on this track he will run his business to the ground. My suggestion to him is to replace all of his staff with caring and polite individuals and to become a better listener.

I really like the P.A.s here, but I have to say, their handling of customers is overall disappointing. My latest experience has to do with a newly prescribed medication which the insurance company needed a prior auth for. Well, I was told that Id be called, and over a week has elapsed and no call. After calling them a couple more times, I was able to discover that the relevant nurse was on vacation. Good thing it is not a life threatening issue and some fancy blood pressure pill, or Id be in rough shape. So, unless you are accustomed to being treated like cattle, waiting 20-30 minutes for an appointment that you are on time for, being misled or run around (this whole thing is not the first time something like this has happened) - then look elsewhere for care.

I have been a patient of Ken McDOWELL. I was involved in his decision to set up practice in the Fredericksburg area. I also have a very nice thank you note from him for my time spentAnd information provided.Unfortunately everything changed one day when I was hospitalized through the ER. I was not in my right frame of mind after a auto accident, and had much confusion when he visited me. I offended him..... OMG... can you imagine ????He refused to see me in follow up. I called his office, apologized For any comments made to him at that time and ask him to reconsider his decision as I could barely remember the encounter. His office staff called me and said “I seemed to mean what I said”. His words not mine.I was asked by the nurses on my hospital floor to report him to his peers, but I refused. Apparently this is normal protocol for him.PLEASE READ EVERY REVIEW POSTED !!!!!! Stay away from this egotistical, narcissistic person. He doesn’t remember the oath he took to “FIRST DO NO HARM”. After reading these reviews I understand exactly how he operates. He is thin skinned and will not tolerate anyone who might disagree with him. Doesn’t matter what your crisis might be. It’s always about him. I would have given half a star is the option was available.

Stafford Office: I have not had the best luck finding a general physician, so I thought this would be a good bet. Despite the terrible reviews. They are low for a reason!!!!!! Dont waste your time or money!!I went to use this practice because of their mission statement:Everyone deserves compassionate healthcare and a caring physician who will listen to them. We view our patients as a whole person seeking total wellness. We treat patients with respect, compassion, and as unique individuals. This is also the reason that I complained about my care, when I wasnt receiving the care I expected to receive and should have gotten; with a mission statement like that.I had cancer last year at a very young age (not treated or diagnosed by CIMA) which prompted me to look for a more total care option with healthcare instead of seeing multiple doctors, despite their terrible reviews and poor office hours. After a couple of cold / cough visits, I went for a more serious issue. I found I wasnt being listened to and I kept having to go back repeatedly and explain my complaints for the same issue with no resolution or help. I switched doctors to see if that would work. Nothing.. Today I received a letter in response to an emailed complaint about my care, that they no longer will have me as a patient. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen and I will no longer recommend them nor will my other family members continue to use this practice AWFUL!!!!!

Colonial Internal Medicine is TERRIBLE!!! I was recently turned down by Mutual of Omaha for long term care insurance. Turns out the reason was one of their nurses wrote Alcohol Abuse in my medical records.I have never reported having any issue with alcohol. I have never had any history of arrest, intervention, ASAP, loss of job, or anything. I had no idea how that could be in my record. So I called them and the rudest guy who is their physicians administrator John Graham accused me of trying to commit insurance fraud when I was simply asking for some clarity or at least some resolution ..be it a letter to Mutual of Omaha or something to help correct this wrong info in my medical record. Then he said Im hanging up now!! which is when I called him a dick. He WAS being a dick.So a few days later I get a letter from him saying You are no longer welcome to our practice. So I called the office and the receptionist said Nothing we can do, Im hanging up now.Dr McDowell his boss and owner of the practice, who I have never met passed judgement on me based on John Grahams one sided story and told the nurses to not allow me back. What an awful thing to do to someone.I just want my medical records to be accurate and because of them I cant get long term care insurance. I am currently hiring a lawyer to have them answer in court.I would not recommend ever going to this place. Not only have they lied in my medical record, caused me to be turned down for very important long term care, they take weeks to get your referrals to specialists and it takes several phone calls, and excuse after excuse until you have to call the specialist yourself to get action.Dont go there. They are terrible!!!John Graham and Dr Mcdowel are very insecure immature people who throw patients under the bus for merely raising an issue about their own medical records which THEY ruined.TERRIBLE PLACE!!!!!! Furthermore, she refused to listen to my concerns and merely tried to shove more pills down my throat, as if me missing time off work(1 or 2 days a month, mind you) was impacting her paycheck. When i called later to file a complaint, JOHN in the patient relations department said oh, so basically, youre upset because you didnt get what you want.I advise anyone with genuine medical concerns or complaints to AVOID CIMA AT ALL COSTS.
