I wanted to start off by saying Thank you to the Nurses in Labor and Delivery. They really went above and beyond to make my Labor go as smoothly as possible. The anesthesiologist who did my epidural was amazing. I did not feel pain at all, he was very informative and professional. Both rooms I stayed in were very clean. I wish I could give 10 stars.

The staff is wonderful. Pleasant, accommodating and seemed to earnestly care about my needs. It was beautifully clean and everyone asked if they could be of assistance. My surgical staff was terrific and one nurse in particular, Katie, who was preparing me for surgery was wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about my visit there.

The services and staff at this hospital are amazing. From the first minutes there to the last, i was treated with respect and concern for my health. The nursing care is Outstanding. Erie and Andrew took care of me on the night shift. Both were very friendly and helpful. Renee the next morning was up for the challenges of the day. She stayed on top of my needs and got my bandages changed so the I could rest easy at home. Again the food that I was served is better than most restaurants in the area. Just fantastic all the way around!

On Saturday, September 11th, My mother was admitted through the ER for a broken hip. Her doctor and anesthesiologist were wonderful in keeping me informed of her progress by phone until I could arrive from out of state. My mother was transferred to the fourth floor where her condition worsened and the nurses ignored her cry for help. She fell out of the bed Sunday night and no one knew how long she had been lying there! When I arrived on Monday morning my mother was hallucinating, laying in a urine soaked bed on her eating utensils; and chewed up food hidden in her covers. The nurse Michael said he was busy because it was a shift change. He was making excuses for not doing his job which was to care for post op patients. The other nurses I encountered would ignore my requests for help and one nurse actually said shes not my patient! The case worker never came in to see me and avoided contacting me. The whole fourth floor nurses station should be reviewed for malpractice of the elderly patients. Another nurse told me they had no patient advocate in the hospital which was another excuse demonstrating unprofessional behavior.

Emergency room staff was very unattentive. The room I was in was disgusting there was old blood and the old acrylic nail, dust and hair on the floor. Even heard some staff talking about patients being babies about stuff. I had to stay in that hospital overnight and the nurses on the inside of the hospital have great bedside manner. I will never go back to that hospital nor recommend anyone else go no matter how short the waiting is.

Very disappointed in the ER at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center.Took my daughter in law for adomal pain at 6:56pm on Thursday 10/7/21.The staff wasnt all that friendly. The bathroom was really dirty. Never seen anyone cleaning even after a person left, They was checking a person for covid a few feet from us.still no one cleaning up behind patients. they had us sitting in the back in a hallway, never got a room. No privacy what so ever. It took them 2 hours before bringing us a small cup of water. We sat in hard chairs for 7 hours before they told her they keeping her over night.I finally left at 2am , friday 10/8/21Then they finally put her in a triage room and said it maybe a few more hours before taking her to a regular room..The only thing they had going for this hospital was I was able to go in the back with my daughter in law and we got back there quickly and they tried keeping her pain under control.I understand and respect the fact it took so long because they tried to do as many test, blood work, CT scan to see what was happen.Im sure it can be very stressful in the ER in a hospital at times, but this was a little ridiculous.Very disappointed in the cleanliness and the lack of privacy.

Brought my wife in. She was initially seen very quickly and a battery of lab tests, X-ray’s , CT scan were ran very efficiently. The Dr ordered an extra test as a precautionary measure that required her blood to be drawn again. Maybe we hit a shift change or something, but it sure seems that she was forgotten. Bringing it up to several passers by did not seem to help. We are still waiting 2.5 hours later.

UPDATE: If I could give this place zero stars it would be far too generous. I tried calling the number they gave below in their response to get some help and it is just a recording that is not monitored. I then called the ER Charge nurse Sharon, she was absolutely no help, and it was evident in her responses she could care less if he came back to the hospital or not. And stated they do not give antibiotics for Covid Pneumonia. I since called the rescue squad for my son because I couldn’t even get him to the car. He was taken to Mary Washington Hospital where they immediately evaluated him, did multiple tests and within 20 minutes said they would be admitting him for a few days. In additions, they immediately started him on fluids, steroids, antibiotics and breathing treatments. This is the difference between a hospital staff that cares and one who could care less. I wouldn’t wish this lack of care on my worst enemy. Choose wisely, this is nothing to play with.10/11/21: By far the worst care I have seen in a while. My son was taken two times to the emergency room and diagnosed with Covid pneumonia. He had been vomiting for 5 days and couldn’t keep anything down. First visit he wasn’t in there 30 minutes and they gave him a RX for Zofran. This did not help and continued to vomit for two more days. This time he was in there maybe 10 minutes, gave him a shot and absolutely no fluids for dehydration and released him. I called and the charge nurse Brandy said they don’t give fluids for Covid patience. Since when, because the first visit they gave him fluids. You think someone who has been vomiting for 5 days doesn’t need fluids? Very poor care in my opinion, but trust and believe when they send that bill. I would never use this facility again, ever. Terrible care.

I was disappointed in the in-processing and administrative activities for my pre-op testing. I was asked to sit near the front desk and someone would be with me soon after I provided some basic information. Later I was called to the desk using only my last name with no honorific (Ms., Mrs., or Miss) I felt like it was a cattle call. At 70+ years old I believe I deserve better than a 30 something calling me from behind an office window by only my last name. Once at the desk, I stood for better than 20 minutes as the receptionist typed up the paperwork for my lab tests and x rays. Even though my paperwork provided the doctors name and contact information, 11 days later my physician still has not received the results of these tests and I am currently scheduled for surgery in 5 days. The nurses and technicians who performed the x-rays and diagnostic work performed in a professional manner and treated me with respect .

I am beyond appreciative of the staff here, they treated myself and my 11 month old daughter so well I can’t thank them enough. If I could give more than 5 stars to express how pleased I was with our most recent visit I would. My daughter had her first choking experience/episode at home, it was very scary, but I was able to do the heimlich and cleared her airway/got the food out without having to call for an ambulance. After her airway was clear she threw up blood and our pediatrician was concerned that something more serious could be wrong so she advised us to go to the hospital to get a full work up to ensure everything was alright. After hearing from our pediatrician that we would need to go to the ER I was extremely nervous and anxious to go. We recently had a terrible experience at Mary Washington Hospital, so that awful experience was definitely heightening my anxiety. When we got to spotsy we were checked in right away and everyone at the front desk was very polite, and caring. They took my daughter back immediately and immediately started getting her vitals, checked her throat, and even did X-rays to ensure her chest, lungs, and throat were okay. We had hardly any wait time in there and all staff members/nurses, and doctors kept checking in on us/ensuring that we were cared for and okay. I felt safe and comfortable, and my anxiety came down so much while being inside there. A huge difference from our most recent experience at Mary Washington Hospital. Luckily everything was a-okay with my daughter, her throat was a little scratched from the choking incident and we were given some Tylenol/Motrin to help with her discomfort. She has fully recovered and is back to eating solids, and is thriving. Thank you again to everyone here at Spotsylvania Hospital, your kindness and care made myself, and my daughter feel safe/cared for. We are very grateful. From now on if we ever need to go to the hospital again in the future/need ER services I will always come here.

Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center in Fredericksburg, VA has to be one of the best hospitals in this region, (besides John Hopkins in Baltimore, MD).Mary Washington Hospital, (also in Fredericksburg, VA), had a 5 hour wait in the Emergency Room. Spotsy Regional Medical Center had a 10 minute wait, (depending on the emergency). The nurses were attentive, & the food was absolutely delicious! The guests staying with the patient had to pay for their food, $7.65 per meal. The doctors were friendly, however, 2 staff doctors were difficult to understand due to their heavy accents.Because of the doctors who were difficult to understand & the long wait to get test results, I gave a 4-star review.

I took an unexpected trip to the emergency room after a fainting episode. My ER nurse was fabulous. She was carrying, and gentle, and listened to my concerns carefully. While they were not equipped to do all the testing that I needed, the testing that they did do was appropriate. The creature comforts left a bit to be desired, but it is an emergency room. They did allow my husband to remain with me almost to the entire time, so that was helpful. I came in via ambulance and was immediately put into a room, so I did not feel worried about covid exposure. I do not actually live in the spotsylvania area, so I hope to not need to visit this facility again. After reading a couple of the other reviews, I decided to add to my own. I was here on a Saturday night. After examination, I was referred to other specialists for follow-up. My ankle was x-rayed, and they determined that there was a small fracture. They adjusted my crutches, as well as watching me walk on them and assisting me to and in the bathroom. I was given pain medication in the ER. When I did not like the pain medication they proposed to give me, they did give me the particular medication that I requested my body would have a better response to. They stated that they would put in a prescription for Motrin to my local pharmacy, but I dont know if they did or not because everyone keeps that sort of thing at home. The neurologist did not have a referral for me in the chart, but it was on my discharge papers, so I was able to get that issue remedied. The orthopedist could not find an actual fracture, but is not ruling out the possibility. Thus, I am still on the crutches that were sent home with me. I did receive a call a few days after my visit from hospital personnel. She did not have access to my charge and did not seem to know that I did not live in the area, but wanted to know if I was able to follow up with an orthopedist. So, I guess theyre trying.

No one seemed to know a plan of action or what was coming next when I asked. I was often told we are waiting for test results which took 8 to 12 hours for results. I thought the point of a hospital stay was to get answers in a more timely manner. I was also given incorrect information about visitors which resulted in screaming, crying, and terrible sadness in an already stressful situation. And the personal at the front whom denied my visitors were not understanding nor friendly. I understand hospitals are busy but I feel the staff have forgotten they work with and for people and these people are in scary and stressful situations.

The staff at SRMC was amazing. Everyone from the cooks, folks who delivered the food, cleaned my room, and the nursing staff were incredible.

The Emergency room is a joke. Took my mother there for failure to thrive issues and got there at 4pm. There were no rooms so we had to stay in lobby. They then said they were going to transfer her to another hospital. I left at 10pm thinking she would be transferred soon. Here it is now 1am and she is still sitting up there by herself. They promised to bring her crackers and water and havent done so. No one has even checked on her. Horrible ER service..... Do not recommend at all

Probably one of the worst I’ve been to. Was hospitalized for an infection back in 2019 and staff treatment was bad. Dirty room, dirty ER room, and care level was mediocre.Returned for an outpatient visit again on April of 2021 and the registration desk was all over the place on their process, stuck me in an exam room and didn’t tell the nurses station I was all set and waiting. Waited over 30 mins before going out myself to the nurses station asking what was going on because I was already late for my scheduled procedure.During the process, I asked several times that my contact in the waiting area be informed and no one called them to let them know what was going on etc. communications seem to be a huge issue with this facility.Visited the ER again 8/2021 and we were appalled in the exam room how disgusting it was. Clean?? Nope. We saw two centipedes crawling around, hairs and dust all stuck on the equipment pieces and the seats were sticky. Never got to see a doctor to discuss findings instead it was a NP that had a horrible bed side manner. Was sent home with nothing except to follow up with regular GI.Fast forward a week later and here I am hospitalized at UVA Charlottesville for something untreated by Spotsylvania Reg.If you live in the area, do yourself a favor and take a drive to a better hospital system.I had someone call me from Spotsy to follow up from my recent ER visit and I’m sure the feedback given will fall on deaf ears.It seems to me that whenever feedback is written as a review they are quick to respond and apologize. However, if you provide feedback through their “grievance” line no one calls you back. What is the point of offering that to folks?

I have been in this hospital twice this year and every time I have been treated wonderfully. My first time in this hospital the doctor in the ER was the one that discovered that I was diabetic and this wasnt told to me from Memorial Regional Hospital where I had been admitted to three times in 2020 and my primary care physician was the one tending to me there all three times. If the doctor here had not done thorough tests on me I may have gone undiagnosed for who knows how long and then something really bad could have happened to me. The last time I was there I was on the 4th floor and my doctor and nurses were the absolute best.

Got here at 6pm and I’m still here! Not only that, the nurses have been rude so far and unprofessional is modest to the word to describe the atmosphere but the only one cheerful to do they job here is the billing lady. God bless her for taking our money before we are ever seen and wrongly diagnosed here at this BAD facility!

The ultrasound department had a student performing my anatomy scan without me knowing. Once his supervisor came in she informed the student in front of us that he took the wrong pictures and she had to start over. She barely spoke with us (after I told her we are first time parents and tried to make small talk). She left the room without saying anything and the student came back to walk us out. We had no idea what are next steps were or if we needed to check out. I stopped at the receptionist desk of the hospital and she asked “What’s wrong with you?” I asked if I needed to check out and she said they’ll call me. Poor experience overall and I really hope the maternity ward and doctors are not like this.

Staff was great!! Friendly and caring. No wait, in and out in less than an hour, both times. But, that was the problem. I was in Friday night, needed a procedure done. I was back on Saturday morning for the same procedure AGAIN........then I ended up at Haymarket ER Saturday Night for the SAME procedure again, because it wasnt done correctly the first two times at Spotsylvania. Now I have bills for two visits and neither were effective. Not good.

I arrived well in time but had forgot my orders. The staff took time to contact the physician and have the orders resent. They did so quickly and I was able to get my tests completed. They have a great staff!!!

I had a surgical procedure done on 6/17. Upon my awaking in the recovery room, it seemed that I was rushed to be discharged. The nurse quickly assisted me in getting dressed. I was not explained the discharge instructions nor was my spouse who was waiting.

From scheduling the appointment, to checking in and the actual test being performed, (3D Mammo) everyone was awesome and helpful. The only thing I would complain about is my PCP did not receive my imaging results. This is very important to me due to my history. I had the order from my PCP and also listed him on my records.

Spotsylvania Regional is an excellent hospital. The staff are courteous and friendly and give patients prompt and efficient service. The medical staff are highly competent and willing to spend time answering patient’s questions. I have had major surgery as well as diagnostic testing and have found both hospital divisions to be equally as good. I have worked as a nurse/nurse practitioner for over 40 years at some of the best hospitals on the East coast. Spotsylvania Hospital compares favorably with any of them. Highly recommend.

Emergency Room VisitThe waiting room was dirty. I was there for over 2 hours and not once did I see someone come through and clean. There were people there vomiting, coughing, one patient undressing and parents with children all together. No separation based in severity or age. The nurses were shorty, clearly over worked and stressed.
