I have been going to this office for many years. I have had nothing but good experiences here. Dr. Detrane and his office staff have always been very attentive to all my needs.

Personnel were overall friendly and professional. However it was not possible to schedule a future appointment with them, after spending several days leaving messages and returning phone calls, as I was finally told the office is in transition and they are unable to schedule appointments starting with the next month. I would have preferred to have been told this right away, rather than going on believing I would be able to schedule a procedure. Felt like I had been strung along a bit, which I did not appreciate. I will definitely take my business elsewhere.

I was having a flare up and it was my first time seeing this specific gastroenterologist. Dr. Ashmira, I think. I have had to get colonoscopies done in the past, and over the years my body does not tolerate the typical prep that most GI docs make people do. I talked to my primary care and she told me there are other types of prep I could take. I wanted to discuss this with Ashmira, and I explained that I always throw up the other prep and can never finish it, and I asked about the other prep that my primary care told me about, and I told him about the prep I found online articles about. He told me you cant believe everything you read online and there is no other prep. This is the only this prep available.. He didnt care at all about my concerns, and was in a hurry to leave the room. He was about to leave the room after a minute of talking with me and when I said wait I have some things I would like to discuss he seemed annoyed. We talked for maybe 5 minutes before he left. Very apathetic. I tried the prep, got sick LIKE I SAID I WOULD, and went to ANOTHER GASTROENTEROLOGIST THAT WOULD TAKE ME SERIOUSLY. I told her what he said and she was as baffled as I was. She then listed multiple prep options for me. I was able to get a colonoscopy done with her help. Dr. Ashmira needs to learn to take his patients concerns seriously.

I’ve been going to them for three years. In that time, they have:Told me I did not have my condition despite diagnostic tests showing that conditionPrescribed the wrong medicationHad me waiting for three hours waiting for treatment because they could not find a doctor in their own practiceDid not send bills to my insuranceUsed an anesthesiologist who bills out of network even if listed in networkI’d transfer but during COVID, it’s been extremely difficult. Do not recommend this practice.

I would put 0 stars if I could, terribly customer service. My Grandmother who barely knows English was completely mistreated & got yelled at for no reason. The terrible nurse yelled at her then when the doctor entered the room she acted as if nothing happened. What kind of soulless person yells at a elderly trying her best to understand you. That so called nurse is obviously in the wrong industry because who knows what other innocent people she yelled at for no reason. Do better people.

Id give the staff to this office zero stars, if I could. They are a nightmare and the office manager is worse. Stay away at all costs! In my opinion, this is a lawsuit waiting to happen.RESPONSE TO GI ASSOCIATES REPLY: My review has nothing whatsoever to do with any COVID-related issues, and all protocols were followed by me. It behooves me that you would use COVID as a sorry excuse for lack of professionalism, non-responsive inquiries, disorganization, disarray, etc. of your office staff. As I previously stated, in my opinion, the actions of this office staff could warrant legal remedies. COVID on the other hand would not. The response of this office should put anyone who reads it on notice as to how your office seems to lack candor. And for those who want to research this office, look up their Facebook page and other social media and decide for yourself. I am not the first nor the only person to be dismayed. Hopefully this office could take the constructive criticism, rather than a personal attack, to work on making this establishment a better and less hostile environment.Update on 7/9/21: I see the office manager has deleted her initial response. That speaks volumes — Think HIPAA.

So just want to start off with not allowing visitors to accompany the patients. I understand about the whole covid situation but it should be thought about letting visitors go in especially if they are translating.. today my mother was seen and they immediately told me I couldnt go in with her, then they said for her to wait by herself in the lobby so I left. Mind you my mother only speaks Spanish.. a nurse staff called her back and when they got to the exam room, she yelled at my mom not once.. but twice telling her to sit down very aggressive. That is not how you should be treating patients let alone someone that does not speak English. I talked to the charge nurse because I was very upset about what had happened, that person even made her cry. Will try to get a new G.I doctor...

Worst experience.since there is a pandemic, and no visitors are allowed my grandmother had to go into her appointment alone. mind you my grandma doesn’t speak english & the nurse staff who attended her yelled are her repeatedly. you should train your nurses better, cause that is unacceptable. or at least have multilingual personal on-call. to add on the nurse made her cry... NEVER AGAIN.

I wouldnt even put a star if I was able to leave a review without it. Weve been fighting with the insurance company over a bill and just because we have an unpaid bill they arent seeing my husband whos ill! Great way to be a human being! Think of money more then a patient. Congrats! Worst people ever!Since I cant reply5months? Nope we had both producers done April 20th. We received our bill the next month which would be May and only the one bill was sent, we called our insurance company asap. Today I called to talk about my husband being sick and instead they send me straight to billing without hesitation then was told it was being sent into collections so no it isnt 5 months and you send multiple letters. We received one letter. Again still the worst people ever!!!

Horrible experience. The whole check in and vitals part was done in a decent amount of time but actually waiting to be seen by the doctor took forever. I was waiting for what felt like 25 minutes in the exam room. Then the doctor comes in and starts rushing me to speak about what my issues are barely even let’s me see explain what I have been going through. He keeps talking over me and finishing my sentences. I don’t know why doctors always feel like they know better than the patients. Don’t disregard your patients symptoms. Show respect to your younger patients as well.

My husband was hospitalized for five days after a colonoscopy performed by Gastroenterology Associates of Fredericksburg’s Dr. Dong Lee, MD due to severe internal bleeding that was uncontrollable. A different procedure had to be performed at the hospital by another doctor to finally stop the bleeding. During that days-long waiting period, my husband’s H&H levels, red cell count, and blood pressure all dropped quickly, and he required intravenous iron injections; with discussion from medical professionals of possibly needing blood transfusions. My husband actually thought he was dying. This happened months ago, and he is still being treated now by a hematologist to improve his blood levels. He lost more than a week’s time from work, had a large hospital bill even after insurance payments, and is still suffering the after-effects. Dr. Dong Lee, MD was repeatedly notified by different people about the emergency situation happening with his patient after the colonoscopy he performed, and the patient directly asked for him to respond by phone or in person at the hospital; however, Dr. Dong Lee, MD waited for days, until after the other doctor had stopped the bleeding, to respond to his patient as requested. I have written this review factually and objectively, as I feel current patients have an ethical obligation to warn other prospective and existing patients of what could happen medically, financially, and emotionally.

As a returning customer this practice insisted on another “consultation” before scheduling my repeat colonoscopy procedure. Totally unnecessary. After three telephone conversations all required information had been exchanged and the only thing left to do was schedule the procedure. This “consultation” was nothing more than a thinly veiled effort to charge me more fees. In this pandemic era where medical and financial resources are under severe stress, this is unconscionable. The front office staff lied by saying “it is required for insurance purposes” and it is not - especially for a returning patient. I strongly suggest taking your business elsewhere.

Crystal Gamble I agree I had same thing happen. I now have 53.20 on my credit report and when I called them I was informed they can’t take it I’d have to call the collections place. Funny thing is they won’t return my calls. I wouldn’t recommend them. I actually never received any letters, the only one I got from them after my procedure was a notification stating I was no longer a patient.

Very unhappy with the services. I saw Dr. Ajmera because I had experienced stomach bloating for over 3 months. During the office visit he never even touched my stomach. He ordered a sonogram which indicated a slightly enlarged liver. Then I had blood drawn for additional testing. My blood was drawn on a Monday afternoon. G.A.F. said they would call me when the results came back. I waited until Thursday afternoon & called them but had to leave a voicemail message. I then contacted LabCorp who did the blood work & was told my results were sent to the doc office on Tuesday morning. Now I am really ticked off, they had my results for almost 3 days and hadnt called me.

I am extremely dissatisfied that I arrived on time for my appointment, waited 45 minutes, and had to ask what was going on. I was told that it would be at least another 15 minutes before I would be seen. I had another place to be, so I had to leave without being seen by the provider. This was supposed to be a simple consult. My time is just as valuable as theres is, and I have to take off work to come to the appointment. They charge at least a $50 fee for a missed appointment. How much do I get to charge them for wasting my time?! This level of service is very unprofessional.

Came in January for a follow up post surgery, was rushed so fast through my appointment placed on Xifian, which handled well for my IBS, was told the test machine for lactose intolerant was down and i couldn’t come in another day had to wait for a reschedule follow up, came in 30 minutes early for today’s follow up was told the doctor was 45 minutes behind which truly messed up my afternoon plans of babysitting, also, felt rushed through again. After this appointment will go elsewhere for GI.

My wife went in for pelvic pain and they found a 20mm cancer tumor during her colonoscopy. They removed it in early stage, my wife is 32! I hear you should get colonoscopies once a year after 50... 30 is more like it. Im very thankful for these doctors, she might not of made it to 50.

My scheduled colonoscopy was set for the 24th and when there was a cancellation the nurse and scheduling department moved my appointment for 10 days sooner. The 14th at 2:05. I do believe Dr Pai will figure it out and fix the problem. I luv this gastrointestinal doctor

Have not had service yet but I have scanned the reviews.I did not make the appointment here buy my doctor did with out verbalizing this to me.I get a voice mail on Thursday at 3pm, one hour before closing.Voice mail does arrive late if coverage is not good.I called once I got the voice mail and I get a recording that the office is closed Friday, Sat, and Sunday. They booked my appt at 8:50 Monday morning. To top it off, I have not had a chance to check with my insurance policy about coverage. I am giving 3 stars in good faith care is good but management has to change. The auto voice which is Horrid sounding says there is a 50 dollar cancellation fee.I think management for Gastroenterology Associates of Fredericksburg, 1031 Care Way has to be revamped. I should have gotten a call asking to check my calendar if I was open for that Monday. No one had talked to me, just automatic late notice and automatic appt without verification with the patient. How can this happen? I expect they are in a hurry to fill slots with no questions. Has health care gotten away with so much they forget the basic ABCs?
