Love my year-and-a-half of facials here, a once-a-month insurance plan for looking my best. Kersten and Amber have been here all along, even through COVID--so other people must think so, too. Theyve been careful and conscientious throughout--so call ahead, wear a mask inside to start, and expect to relax and feel better than you did when you arrived.

Dr. McLaughlin is a very special doctor. In your lifetime you will meet doctors who just want your money. Who only look for what they can change and get out of you and Dr. McLaughlin is the exact opposite. I went to her especially because of the picture she had on a website I was doing research on it is called realself.com. Every single doctor on that website had a picture with a suit on that seemed very impersonal to me and if someone is going to be dealing with my face I can not have that. Therefore, when I saw Dr. McLaughlins profile I immediately got in contact with her office. Turns out she worked with an old doctor of mine from when I was a little squirt. She is an insane talent in her field and I think she is still very under appreciated for all she currently does and has done. For anyone, considering Dr. McLaughlin, I strongly advise you to do research on her as it will cement your choice to pick her as your doctor. Her story is a story of strength and perseverance. Doctors like her come once in a lifetime, so really look no further. Dr. McLaughlin has a customer in me for the rest of my life. What she has done for me goes beyond. If you are considering her, at least have a consultation, I am sure you will find what you are looking for.P.S. These are my personal thoughts and I am just sharing my experience with Dr. McLaughlin. I pay for every procedure with my own hard earned money, so I wouldnt say this if I didnt truly think it. I had put off writing a review because I wanted to do it in an informed manner and make sure I was not speaking out of term. Amber talked me through all the steps of my facial (dermaplaning), and made sure I was comfortable throughout my experience. Love Emily! The office is welcoming and inviting. Everyone is friendly and so helpful. After my recent hydro facial my skin is looking so fresh. I would recommend it to anyone and will most certainly be returning soon.

The Retreat is hands down one of the best spas! I have so many local spa near by but I prefer to make the drive to Downtown Fort worth to see these lovely ladies! They make you feel so comfortable during your services. I love the fact that they dont push sales while you are there as well. I would highly recommend anyone that wants to feel beautiful and relaxed to go check out this amazing spa.

Left The Retreat on West Magnolia with a huge smile and glowing face following my experience with Emily the aesthetician and a hydra-facial!From the minute I walked into this beautiful spa like space I felt...at home. It was the lighting which included natural light from antique glass windows indigenous to the 1916 building to the exposed brick and pale sea blue color of the walls.ENCHANTING!Each staff member greeted me with a smile and warm welcome. Cozy lavender scented slippers, soft blankets, spa music and a cocktail was offered. I had to decline the cocktail....I really hated to decline that cocktail. Next time!It was such a pleasure to have a facial in such a magnificent facility with fabulous staff.I will return again and again.

I got to the retreat *at least once a month. I have been going for about a year and love it!! Emilie has done great things with my skin! You feel relaxed as soon as you walk in but once you actually start talking with Emilie and using any of the products, it’s hard to remember what your routine was before. I will go here forever! ♥️

I had a Skin Pen procedure here and it was a wonderful experience. The facility was clean and welcoming. The staff (Patty and Emillie) are superb! They are very attentive and marvelous about answering all my questions. I honestly did not expect my face to look so bad right after the procedure and I was concerned that it would take a while to heal - however the staff were great at reassuring me and they were correct - 3 days later I was good to go with great results.

I had a wonderful 1st experience at The Retreat with a hydra-facial. Emilie was extremely knowledgeable and her recommendations for improving my skin were given in a positive and very non-judgemental way. She made product recommendations but also kept my budget in mind. I am excited to go back for another visit to their beautiful historical space on my favorite street in Fort Worth!

I went to get a facial for the first time done there and it was so amazing! The atmosphere was so comfortable and welcoming. The staff was so nice and helpful and the person giving me the facial Emily McLaughlin was so amazing and explained everything she was doing and gave me her recommendations afterwards that would be helpful for my skin. Ive been to The Retreat for a hydrafacial and a skinpen treatment. So far, the process/results have been just as promised. Kersten has been my provider for both treatments and she is the reason I continue to go back. I am new to all of this and slightly apprehensive when deciding which direction to go with my skin care. Kersten has been patient and informative and not pushy at all. She doesnt mind when I ask for explanations of every single step of the process lol. Ill definitely be back! The women who answer the phone and work at the front desk have also been beyond kind and helpful.

I have found my new favorite medspa! The Retreat Med Spa is the perfect spot. The staff is friendly and professional. My esthetician was Amber and I found her to be both knowledgeable and informative. Im looking forward to my next appointment with her.

Im giving it three stars because it just opened and I am sure they will up the ambience as time goes by. But sooner would be much better than later. Here is my experience: I had a 9 am appointment. I arrived on time and the soft spoken girls were still learning the computer system so checking in in the retreats lobby actually went faster than I thought it would. However I spent a good 2 hrs. there the day before filling out papers and getting a consult and becoming a member, that was a long slow process, again everything was new so ok. Finally when it was time for the much touted Hydra Facial, ($550.00 for a package of 4) I was ready to slide into a warm comfy table/chair. Unfortunately this was not to be, instead there was a cold uncovered leather reclining chair. No sheet, no towels nada. It was cold and the room was cold! I sat down and mentioned that a cover for the chair would be a nice touch so I would not be on the same chair as the person before me, although I was the first. Then I was told to go wash my face, she showed me to the bathroom and offered creamy or foamy soap, a wash cloth then as an after thought a towel to dry my face. ( I did not have on any make-up, but starting with a clean face is a good idea). So far nothing like any facial I have ever had. I walked back to the room, still no sheet. I requested a blanket and something for my knees. The girls were great about getting these things for me. The bolster for my knees was without cover and the blanket wasnt really a blanket, any way nothing warm and something to really get under. It was small. Im thinking I guess these gals have never had a facial. I just laid back with all my clothes on no towel to cover around my face, or my clothes, but they did pull my hair back. I dont recall if my head was on a towel or not. Had they they would have told the owner that the facial area was not very comfortable, rather very sterile and very cold. Patty then basically explained this was going to be extremely cleansing then they would add the (Im sorry I dont remember what it was) but whatever we have added or put back into the face is in addition to the base price. I was told the most expensive, (facial cleanse plus the additive) was $350.00. So the cleansing tube cleans, sucks extracts and exfoliates. But the suction was apparently a little to high because I was left with 2 small marks above my lip and one larger one on my cheek. For lack of a better word she called them hickeys. The were gone by the next morning. Prior to the facial she asked if I had any capillaries which I do, around my nose, she said she would turn down the suction in that area because the suction could make it worse. No problems in that area. The facial itself started and the little sucker did its thing, no pain, nothing unusual or unique to speak of just suction. Then the addition of the additive just rubbed onto my face and only my face. Then she put something else on and it balled up on my skin and she wished it off with a towel for a minute or so. I hate to put make up on after a facial but I had to today so when I got home had to wash my face because my makeup balled up also. It did not mix with the moisturizer they had put on.My mother was going to have one later that day but I knew she would have been uncomfortable. I bought the package of 4 so did she, so now I have $1100.00 of credit, somethings came with the membership, ($75.00 a month) which really is a pretty goI know that after a couple of weeks of ironing out the kinks my next treatment, Hydro facial will be top shelf! The girls, all of them, Patty who gave me my treatment, Emily, Rena, Tiffany and I know I forgot someone, are very attentive and want everything to be perfect. And they will get there. Dont let my review scare you off rather go and if need be make a suggestion. They wont know unless we tell them. Oh my face has never been so clean! And my skin looks wonderful!UP DATE: NOW FIVE STARS!!! THANKS GIRLS!! Even better than imagined. Ive had 2 hydrofacials and the micro-pen. Skin looks great. Happy face
