This was far from a good experience! Recovery room left a lot to be desired. 5 hours for a 3.5 to 4 hour surgery and my wife had to go ask what was happening. No one let her know it was done. Report never made it to the nurses on the floor that there was a spinal fluid leak and I had to remain flat for 3 days. My wife stopped them as they were setting me upright. They acted like they didnt believe her. A few of the nurses provided good care, but a couple were pretty rough moving me around while I had to stay flat, pulling me and pushing too quickly. If the night nurse had not put a sign over the bed to remain flat, who know what would have happened.

I was impressed from the beginning. I was planning a homebirth with my midwife, but when my labor stopped entirely after my water had broken, she convinced me to come to DuPont. I’m so glad I did. No one made me feel like a failure or lesser of a woman for trying to have my baby at home. The care I received was compassionate. 10/10 recommended.

Had our daughter at Dupont on 8-10-21.From check in to discharge, my entire experience couldnt have been better. We always wish the door would stay closed just a little longer when trying to rest but at the end of the day the staff is present and doing there jobs. My L&D nurse has found her calling! I couldnt have asked for anyone better to get me through a rather quick labor. My postpartum nurses we wonderful as well. They knew I wanted to leave at 24hours and made it happen. Felt safe everything was clean and covid wasnt even a thought in my mind being in a hospital. All in all this experience has made me revisit the idea of one more baby in the future.

The Nicu is understaffed. My Son went hours multiple different times without anyone coming to check on him. All the information nurses had after shift change has been inaccurate because they havent been able to check on him enough to know whats going on. Some of the nurses have been great. We were relieved he was going to such a highly regarded nicu but the lack of care has us baffled and searching for transport options. My son is 1 week old and we are still unable to access any of his charts

We went to the ER last Friday night. The nurses were okay however they tried 6 times to draw blood. The ER doctor was not good. We got there around 10pm and left around 2am. The ER doctor did not know anything about RA. My wife when we were checking in was crying so bad due to the pain in her left wrist. It was inflamed and red. The only your ER did was give her a shot for pain. The ER doctor in checking us out said she was going to give us a script . One problem, she did not put it into the chart. Wont go here again.

I want to start off by letting you know that Dupont hospital is the best. I have never had such great treatment and special attention by the nurses and the text at any at any given time like I was there. To let you know that there is a nurse and a tech that I would like to see get special recognition because they treated me so well that if I ever have to go into a hospital again I want to come to DuPont. There was a nurse named Sam and a tech named Kameryn pca. They were taking care of me when I was on the floor of 2115 at Dupont hospital. I would definitely recommend DuPont to all my friends and family because I got treated there with the most respect and things were took care of immediately. The nursing staff in Labor and Delivery were wonderful in helping me in any way they could, they did their up most best to take care of me and make sure I had everything I needed. Even though there are COVID restrictions, allowances need to be made for certain circumstances. In my case, I had a difficult and traumatic birthing experience, I needed the nursing staff plus two family members to help take care of me and the twins, I was allowed the two family members for one day, it wasnt enough. The nursing staff can only do so much and if it wasnt for my mother choosing to be with me the most I wouldnt have recovered. My doctor was wonderful and I appreciate her very much for all she did for me in allowing me to try and have a natural birth for as long as I could. She was amazing when it came time for my C section, I would recommend her to anyone! The pediatrician was very understanding and kind and the night staff in the nursery really tried to make my boys feel at ease.

I traveled from over an hour away because I was determined to have my doctor Emmary Butler with Women’s Health Advantage deliver my son as we planned and it worked out in Gods favor! One of my postpartum nurses Shari was absolutely amazing!!! She helped me with so much and also taught me how to do things on my own for when it was time for me to leave the hospital! Veronica (Vern) from lactation was a huge help as well to giving me extra tips with my journey for breastfeeding! DuPont also had some GREAT, convenient and comfortable nursing bras! They sent me home with everything I needed to heal and for my new life of becoming a mother! Labor delivery A+! Recovery room F the bed was horrible. Could not elevate your feet in it making my entire legs swell up worse and I was getting stuck in the crack of the bed getting up. I was in more pain from leg swelling than the actually delivery. The room was not set up for easy access to get things and they didn’t give me anytime to rest properly. I could not get comfortable in there at all. Honestly I would have been better off on the floor. I didn’t even have a place to change the baby correct. Everything had to be done in the crib and the crib was too high for me. Couldn’t do it in the bed because the bed slanted down and couldn’t stretch out. Stuff seemed old and outdated in the recovery room and it put me in more pain. Right after I got medicine people kept coming in left and right not letting me use the medicine what it was for (rest and recovery)Josie was the best nurse ever A+, not only was she kind and caring she went out of her way! Plus she was clean and thought like a chess player! (wish I had her the whole time during recovery because the other two failed to make me comfortable and made me feel like some prison inmate one was patronizing and the other one was just passive aggressive one nurse changed a diaper and left it on the side of the crib, and was leaving her trash all over, while the other one was talking down to me )Joliee and Emily was the best labor delivery nurses! And their delivery team was amazing. Sandy made awesome food to bring up!Other than that it was recovery that was bad.

I must share my experience at Dupont Hospital. The surgery staff was pleasant and thoroughly explained the process. They demonstrated genuine concern and communicated effectively. While waiting for my son to get out of surgery. I walked to the cafeteria with a family member. I stood outside of the cafeteria door waiting for her to decide on food options. I was accused of stealing food by dietary staff Jamie. The irony of it all was, how can I steal food if I havent entered the cafeteria? It was abundantly clear an emphasis on professionalism hasnt been enforced. I was already nervous the surgical outcome of my child. To then be verbally mistreated increased my anxious state of mind. I requested to go through the proper chain of command to address this issue. I hope after sharing my experience with management no other visitors/ customers will be treated as I was. I am a firm believer in asking questions to do ones job, but doing it correctly and respectfully.

I just recently had a surgery and I have never had such thoughtful kind nurses in any of my experiences as I had at Dupont in all of my 43 years! While it was not anything we planned with our third delivery, the doctors, anesthesiologist Dr. Fong, Dr. Bauer, and all the nurses who tended to us from the time we got there, through the procedure, a second unforseen procedure, delivery recovery, and helping care for our newborn, were incredible. We delivered our sweet baby boy here and labor and delivery were all phenomenal. Every single nurse was so sweet and caring and made sure we were informed and educated about the process. Our induction turned into a surprise csection and my husband and I were so upset but we had all of the confidence in them. Huge thank you to Kari L&D nurse who got us all settled in when we got there and calmed our nerves and made us feel at home. I felt like she was a good friend by the time we were done. Also Amanda L&D nurse, I was so sad when she left me after her shift with us she was there during worst contractions and epidural. She helped keep me calm and she was so sweet and caring during the pain. And last but not least L&D nurse Emily who was there when I would not progress and when we went in for Csection. I was an emotional wreck and she was there and explained everything that would happen so calmly and took great care of us in recovery. I also cannot say enough great things about Dr. Wallace who was the anesthesiologist for epidural and then csection. He had great distraction tactics during the epidural yet he was very serious and precise with what he does. And then when we got to see him again for the csection he was just the most caring and calming person and he made me feel so comfortable during the csection and I am so glad he was there making sure I was comfortable and that all went smooth. I will probably be singing his praises for years to come, just absolutely the best. I don’t know the names of everyone who was in the OR with us because I was so anxious and exhausted but they were all just the sweetest with myself and husband and I wish I could personally thank them all. When we first got to postpartum we had a wonderful nurse named Haley she was only with us a short amount of time but did take great care of us and answered a lot of questions. We also loved our night postpartum nurse Michelle, she was so on top of things down to knowing when baby needed to feed and having the bottle ready and warm. She was so sweet with baby which helped me be able to relax and recover. Thank goodness for the hours she cared for baby while we got much needed sleep. Now the reason this is not a 5 star review, our day postpartum nurse Kalyn we felt very neglected and forgotten. There was a point in time where she let me go 9 hours without pain medication within the first 48 hours post op. I was never told I needed to ask for pain medicine I thought they were following a schedule as I was always given my meds at night. So I was in such pain I was starting to get discouraged about being able to go home and do anything. Also there was a time I had asked her for a bottle for the baby in person, 30 minutes later still no bottle came back so I called down to the nursing station to see if it was in the warmer and it was not so we waited 40 minutes to feed him and felt helpless. Ultimately we felt disrespected, I felt I was not properly educated on a lot of things we needed to know when going home as first time parents. Also the entire getting discharged process is ridiculous and it’s not a secret that the hospital plays a game to keep you later on your discharge day so they can make more money. We were discharged by the OBGYN at 8am and did not get the discharge from the pediatrician until 3 and got excuse after excuse why she hadn’t rounded yet. Really the baby could’ve been discharged after 24 hours and the only reason we stayed longer was because of the csection. Everyone I have talked to who has been in this hospital says they same thing about being discharged that there is always something holding it up until later in the day and I think it is ridiculous.Overall where it counted the DuPont Birthplace is amazing and talented at what they do and I will recommended them to everyone because of the great nurses, doctors, and other medical staff we encountered.

Every single member of the staff from the checknin lady, doctors, nurses, cafeteria people and the janitor, they were withkut a doubt the best damn staff Ive ever come across and words cannot even begin to describe how i appreciate it. It would be understandable with all thats happening if they were a little snippy, bad mood whatever, it was not close to being the case. You guys are trully the heroes...thank you.

I was with my sister when she was in labor and the staff was so great and so patient. My mom also works there and I have loved getting to know all of the sweet staff. Their hearts are so big and they are very respectable people. I LOVE Dupont

I had to visit the ER in December and February for pancreatic/liver issues. Both times, the registration, nursing, doctors and radiology staff were exceptional. Well done to all emergency staff. Thank you all for being so kind and caring. You have no idea how much your kindness meant to me at two distressing moments in my life.

If I could give 0 stars I would. WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER! I would not recommend their ER to anyone. They could have cared less about me or my symptoms. Did not see anyone for over an hour after the initial assessment. There is definitely no care factor with staff or doctor. I could have unhooked and walked out the door and no one would have even noticed, in fact upon discharge I did have to unhook myself from my monitors as the nurse just walked out the door stating Oh yeah go ahead and unhook those thanks! Waste of money and I am sure my bill will be sky high which will be ridiculous for the service that I was given. Please seek treatment else where no one should have to feel or go through what I experienced!

I was traveling for work and was 3 1/2 hours from home when I had a kidney stone attack during the early morning hours of December 17th. After calling 911 and being transported to DuPont Hospital I was advised that I was in acute renal failure and was admitted. Again, I had no family with me but that soon changed. From the moment I arrived in the ED I was met by the most professional, compassionate and friendly people ever. From the 2 ED nurses and doctor to the nurses on the Med/Surg floor, the housekeeping staff, the dietary staff and the surgical staff, I couldn’t have asked for better people. I never once felt alone during my 2 1/2 days stay in the hospital. I felt like I had known these people all my life even though I had only met them a few hours earlier. Kudos to all of them and the hospital in general and for allowing me to be a part of their family for a very short time. A very short time that I will never forget.

If you need mental health care, be aware that this hospital has NO MENTAL HEALTH CARE available. I was naive and thought every hospital should have some form of psychiatry. Especially a big, expensive hospital like DuPont. But it doesn’t. For pretty much any other health issue, this would be a great place to go and they have treated myself and my family very well for all other health issues we’ve had.

In and out but thorough. I can honestly say the 6 times Ive been here Ive never waited more than 2 minutes. The staff is so great and nice. They kept me and my family calm each time and really look out for your well being. My one issue was with check out. Be wary that sometimes to check out folk will yell out how much you owe after insurance. Ive had to explain once that its not the entire waiting rooms business.

Just choose to go elsewhere, all the hospitals in Fort Wayne are good. They use Associated Anesthesiologists of Fort Wayne--you dont get to choose--and these swine dont take insurance so you are on the hook for thousands of dollars regardless of your insurance carrier. In addition, their billing is a disaster so...Dont have surgery done here, EVER!

My daughter unfortunately had to spend a week in the hospital due to abdominal pain. The nurses were amazing! They made my daughter so much less anxious, and became like friends. Dr E was amazing too and a wonderful advocate for my daughter.

I had a scheduled c section for twins. Staff was wonderful for the delivery. Doctor, nurses etc were great. My issue was after. The room they showed us on the tour was large however we received a very small room once were there. I had two bassinets and between the bed chair and sofa I tripped multiple times because I couldn’t walk well and I hadn’t slept in days. There was a woman with a single child that delivered hours after me and she received a large room. How could they not give that one to us when it was a scheduled c section for TWINS! They knew this! My one baby had a hard time keeping her temp up and the nurse even commented that the room was so small there were no places to put the bassinet except under a vent which could’ve been why she struggled to keep her temp up. I asked if there were more rooms and she said no. Confusing because when they made me walk there was an empty room at the end of the hall. Our sink didn’t work and maintenance came to fix it while they were doing hearing tests for my twins. There was a huge cart with the computer as well two techs, the maintenance man, my husband me and my girls. He used some sort of chemical draino maybe to get rid of the clog right next to where my babies were (again small room) I would’ve told him to wait to use it and I would have the girls sent to the nursery. It was very overwhelming. It was nothing like they described on our walk through. We were uncomfortable the entire time when that is supposed to be a time to bond with your new babes not feel extreme anxiety. I don’t think I would deliver there again.

We have had a terrible experience with DuPont Hospital. One day, My wife went to get routine bloodwork done. They called her the next day and told her to come back in because they didn’t take enough blood. So she had to take off more work to go in and get blood drawn a second time. Fast forward a few weeks and they tell us we owe close to $1500 (after insurance) for the bloodwork. That is ridiculous. Something as routine as bloodwork should not cost that much. It gets worse. DuPont tried to send an invoice to our home, but LOSES the invoice in the US mail. So my wife’s confidential information is just out there for anyone to find. DuPont hospital’s negligence and malpractice knows no bounds.

I just got discharged from Dupont after being admitted for a DVT blood clot and two pulmonary embolisms. I had very low risk factors, no predispositions, and Im in my lower 30s! However, from the time I got to the ER to the time I got admitted, I was listened to. The ER doctor was phenomenal and ordered tests he wasnt even sure I needed but wanted to rule things out. Thank God he did because it saved my life. Everyone there was amazing and I truly got the feeling of patient first mentality.Side note, Parkview completely missed my clot and I was walking around with it for 4 days. I will always go to Dupont first now.

My husband and I had to take my daughter to the ER after she had a seizure and had an awful experience. The doctor never put her hands on our daughter to listen to her or anything. She said she had to talk to our pediatrician before she could do anything. The nurse did not seem confident in anything she was doing. The phlebotomist did not do a good job attempting to place an IV in my daughter, she was constantly poking around her arm trying to find a vein as my daughter was screaming and her fever was rising. She finally got it and drew blood only to blow the vein where we had to remove the IV. My husband and I had to beg the doctor and nurse to get Tylenol to lower her fever. I will never take my child to Dupont hospital for anything. We were transported to Lutheran Hospital and they did a great job. Dupont is not the hospital I thought it was.

My mom had back surgery on Wednesday December 12th 2018. She had to wait three hours post surgery in the recovery room because they had no beds, we were not allowed to see her! Then took her to a room FINALLY, and then moved her again. Very disappointed in the care she received in ICU. First nurse post surgery left her with no pain medicine for over three hours while she was in SEVERE pain because of a mistake the nurse made over and over and over!!! Had to ask multiple times for everything! Example, my mom had a severely dry mouth after surgery and wanted ice chips, asked three times for ice chips that the nurse left sitting at the nurses station! Discharged the next day...because I could provide better care than they were, very confusing discharge directions as to what she was supposed to do. AND, the nurse was taking her downstairs in the wheel chair when MY MOM asked the nurse about taking out her IV, to which the nurse stated, “OMG, I forgot to take out your IV! I don’t know what is wrong with me!” This is the care my mom received in the ICU people!! So scary and NOT acceptable! Didn’t even feel comfortable leaving her alone to be taken care of!!
