We relocated to Florida last year and Island Coast pediatrics was recommended by a family friend and they were all that they said and more. They are so friendly, helpful, and take their time during all of my sons well checkups. They even squeezed us in quickly when our little guy wasn’t feeling well which I know last minute appointments can be challenging to schedule. They also answer all of our questions and are so informative when it comes to the well being of our son and ensuring that he is meeting his developmental milestones. Thank you so much ICP!

Every staff member I came in contact with was phenomenal. I gave birth on Valentines Day and every one I met was attentive and friendly. I’m a first time mom and I can honestly say that if you want quality care from top tier doctors and nurses that display genuine concern Lee HealthPark is the place to go. Thank you so much nurse Jenna & Lisa!

Be careful this doctors office will not run your insurance to check coverage prior to administering medical services. They also do not inform the parents when such medical services are not covered by the insurance. Thus leaving you with a huge bill for a simple physical exam and vaccines which are free at the health department. Once I contacted them to dispute the bill and lack of professionalism, they passed the buck to the insurance company evading all responsibility. Now all I get are collection threats. I have never had a problem paying for bills, but this is unethical.

It has become so smooth to check in and complete forms before we even get into the office on my own time. They even made changes to check in due to this Pandemic and take us right back into a room. I appreciate everyone’s kindness. We saw Vince and he is always just so Amazing and really knows how to get the children talking. Thank you for your continuous infectious kindness Vince #UntilNextYear

I brought my one year old in for her wellness visit and was turned away at the desk. The water had just been shut off 90 min prior and “we were just about to call you” is what I was told, they were only seeing sick children for the rest of the afternoon not well children. Why would they be seeing sick children with no running water? Sanitizer is not enough to wash the germs from hands! I had MANY questions for the doctor that day. As a mom of two, work 60 hours a week and adjusted my entire day around this appointment, I feel that the practice we haven’t been patients up for six years now really let me and my entire family down. This morning, I dropped off the form to request our records, we are going to be seeing another doctor after many years with your group.

Very happy with our visits here! The nurses and our doctor are very kind. No insurance? No problem. The billing department has been amazing with us while we have been transiting from moving across the country and have been SOOO affordable. I’m grateful to have found kind nurses and doctors, and a place that won’t charge me every dime I have to get our child his vaccines and have wellness check-ups.

As the parent of a new baby it can be overwhelming taking care of the little human you created. However the staff here really help you through it and give you all the information you need. They make you feel comfortable in asking all the questions you likely have as a new parent. There is a sick waiting room and a well waiting room which I find to be an excellent feature. You are required to follow the vaccination schedule which for me, I see as a huge positive when bringing in an infant who is not yet able to have all her shots yet.

I JUST WANT TO SAY ONE THING, WHAT PERSON IN THEIR RIGHT MIND ( NURSE) WOULD EVER TELL A 13 YRS CHILD THAT IF SHE DOESNT HAVE A CERTAIN VACCINATION (WHICH IS NOT MANDATORY AND ITS OPTIONAL), THAT IF SHE DONT GET IT SHE WILL DIE OF CANCER, YES!! THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THAT NURSE TOLD MY 13 YR OLD. IT MADE MY DAUGHTER SO UPSET TO THE POINT WHERE SHE STARTED TO CRY, NOT TO MENTION THAT MY WIFE HAD TO DROP HER OFF AT SCHOOL AFTERWARDS ONLY TO PICK HER BACK UP BECAUSE ALL SHE COULD THINK ABOUT WAS THAT DAMN NURSE TELLING HER THAT SHE WAS GONNA GET CANCER AND DIE IF SHE DIDNT GET THAT OPTIONAL VACCINE. I HONESTLY THINK THIS WAS TOTALLY UNNECESSARY AND UNPROFESSIONAL. THE NURSE AT FIRST WAS VERY KIND BUT HER WHOLE DEMEANOR CHANGED ONCE MY DAUGHTER DECLINED TO TAKE THE OPTIONAL VACCINE. MY WIFE AND THE SUPERVISOR FROM THE PEDIATRICS OFFICE WERE HAVING A CONVERSATION REGARDING THE SITUATION AND AT THAT VERY MOMENT IS WHEN THE NURSE PULLED MY DAUGHTER TO THE SIDE UNBEKNOWNST TO MY WIFE AND TOLD MY DAUGHTER THAT SHE WAS GONNA DIE OF CANCER AND THAT SHE SHOULD GET THE VACCINE. WHY IS SHE TRYING TO GET MY DAUGHTER CHANGE HER MIND, WHEN THE PARENT HAD ALREADY INDICATED THAT SHE DIDNT WANT IT. MY WIFE THEN GOT ESCORTED OUT OF THE BUILDING AND WAS TOLD THAT SHE WAS STILL GONNA GET BILLED FOR THE VACCINE BECAUSE THEY HAD ALREADY PREPPED IT, AGAIN UNBEKNOWNST TO MY WIFE, GOOD LUCK WITH THAT BILL. WE ARE SO DISGUSTED WITH HOW WE WERE TREATED AND WILL DEFINITELY FIND A DIFFERENT LOCATION TO TAKE MY DAUGHTER TO, A PLACE THAT DOESNT SEE US AS $$$$$ BUT AS HUMAN BEINGS.

My kids were patients of Dr Seitz from 1990-2018. No complaints with him or the other Drs and nurses. All very patient and thorough. In contrast, over the years the office admin and policies have become progressively anti-customer(if that can be a thing) The final act was when my 17 year old was denied a same day sick visit because she was about to turn 18! 28 years with the same Dr., 4 kids, every immunization, well care, and sick care visit there and the scheduler denied her a same day visit because she was classified as a new patient. Sometimes policies dont make sense for every situation and thats why we hire and empower people to use common sense. Its a shame, because the Drs are good.

Ive been going to the Ft. Myers location for 3+ years. All 4 of my children are seen and treated by the FABULOUS staff at Island Coast. I have NEVER had a problem with staff, Drs, billing, etc., etc. Ive been fashionably late on more than one occasion and have never encountered a longer than usual wait time, much less been turned away or rescheduled for a later date. Dr. Troast, Dr. Vince and Dr. Padilla are more than professional and I have never been made to feel anything less than like family. They are familiar with my children and we have always been treated with courtesy and respect. I would HIGHLY recommend their office to EVERYONE I know. :)

Worst experience EVER. Staff is unprofessional, literally raising their voice at parents and physicians. I had wellness visits for both my girls, arrived on time, signed in before appointment time, yet desk staff tried to tell me they wouldnt see my oldest, whose appointment was the later of the two. Did not make any sense. I obviously refused and spoke to supervisor. Supervisor told me that just because Im on time doesnt mean Ill be seen, that I needed to be there five minutes early. I said if that were the case, why are they still willing to see the child whose appointment time was set for 3:20, but not the child who had an appt for 3:30. They placed me in a room just to make me happy. Once the physician came in, I showed her the email of my times. She personally walked to front desk to see what time I signed in. Her and the supervisor then got in a heated discussion in front on me and my children on why the supervisor was refusing to see both children. Very unprofessional. Ive been going to the Fort Myers location for 5+ years and have never seen this before. The physician was wonderful. To top it off, the staff wouldnt even tell me either childs vitals without me asking. Highly disappointed. What has modern medicine become?! And I have insurance for my kids!!

They have horrible staff. I am not impressed with the place. You would think that working in a place meant for kids they would be a lot more understanding about schedules for parents and the best interest of the child. I work full time and my only available times to bring my daughter is on Saturdays and I was running late and did not call them within the time limit they liked (I called within 30 minutes) and they told me I can no longer bring my daughter there on Saturdays, even if that was the only time to bring her ! So they basically denied my daughter treatment and they are so rude about it and they get an attitude with you! I work in an office and we would never treat our patients or their families like that! We are so understanding. What they should have done instead of kick my daughter off the schedule for good was charge me a missed appointment fee for any inconvenience. Definitely not the best place to bring your children to! They do not care.

My two girls were patients from 1997-2018. As adolescents they were treated well. Once we had an emergency case of hives that was given high priority. My eldest started having anxiety, at age 15 and was referred to behavioral health and OB/Gyn, which was appropriate. My youngest (17) started having persistent nausea/vomiting Xmas 2018 and I, as a nurse, gave all the symptoms and recent behavior. We were referred to GI specialist, Kidz medical Naples. It took 2 weeks to get in and Dr. McKenna Sr, would not prescribe more than 4 tabs for nausea. He also, as my daughter pointed out, shook my hand with the same hand he examined her privately with(no gloves). I was in the room. Urine tested positive but was not sent out for culture and required a second specimen. Meanwhile she was on antibiotics that made the nausea worse. ICP has gone wayyyyy down hill. As a side note: nursing staff turnover is horrible, which makes a huge statement alone.

My family has been going to Island Coast for ten years they have made plenty of money off of my children and on one visit my mom took my child and denied a shot they already prepped so they couldn’t bill it So the fees were turned into patient responsibility I get that bc I work in the medical field this happened three years ago we have been seen multiple times since then so Monday I go in they see my twins and they both have RSV and wheezing the doctor said he had to see them back in four days to check oxygen levels and the wheezing Wednesday two days before their appt they call me and tell me I owe a balance it went to collections and I need to pay it or they will dismiss my entire family and will not see my two month old sick twins first of all three years ago you already did a tax write off for the balance two if you sent it to a collection agency even once I pay it my credit report will still show it and three you have to dismiss me with a formal letter and I have 30 days to find a pediatrician in that time frame they have to follow up with a sick patient I know this for a fact after I threatened to call every damn news channel and radio station they agreed to see my babies. I understand you’re a business and need your funds but damn you made 320 off of us Times 50 in copays and not to mention the checks my insurance send for each visit but it’s fine we are on the lookout for a new pediatrician it’s so unfortunate that this place is more focused on money than patient care. The fact they were about to deny care to two sick babies is disgusting

I used to LOVE this place. My almost 5 yr old daughter always saw Vince. Hes fantastic, I have nothing bad to say about him. He also was very ok with our very personal decision to not have my daughter vaccinated. Recently he warned me that the policy is changing and I may get kicked out. I havent received their letter yet but had to go for a Saturday appt for some minor issues and had to see an older nurse there as there wasnt a doctor available to see us. She was less than a pleasant human. Not at all friendly. Was condescending and not at all understanding. We waited over an hour and a half just for that. On top of that she straight up said if you dont vaccinate your daughter you will need to find another practice. She isnt even our doctor. Vince knew our situation and never argued or was pushy.I have a son due in April and needless to say neither of my children will be going back. I wish the practice was what it used to be. Too bad. I wish people like Vince ran the place, he told me Im the parent and its my decision. I guess all that money they miss out on for unvaccinated kids is greater than the morals of the practice.

Extremely greedy practice with poor policies in place. I tried to schedule a physical for my son, but they did not have availability on the short notice that I provided in time for the school choice deadline. I did however schedule a physical for my son with ICP that was about 10 days after the deadline date. I called a couple days after scheduling the appointment and while requesting his immunization records for school choice, I mentioned that I was taking him for a school physical with a family physician. They had someone call me back and tell me that my son (who still had his physical scheduled with ICP at ICPs earliest convenience) was no longer allowed to be a patient. I explained that I was paying out of pocket for the school physical and that he had an appointment scheduled for a physical with ICP in just a few days. This did not matter to them. I have got to tell you, I will not be strong armed by any doctors, no matter how fancy they think they are. They have lost sight of what their purpose is, which is helping the kids. It would be nice if they would answer the phone and run their schedules on time too, but neither of those things happen there either.

We took our daughter in for an annual physical so that we could get camp forms signed. Annual visits are covered by insurance as a preventative benefit. However, Island coast added a $20 hearing test fee, and a $12 fee to fill out a one-page survey about depression, neither of which we needed nor asked for. The deceptive part was the $12 survey was snuck in with the normal stack of papers they give customers upon check-in. Nothing was EVER disclosed to us there would be charges for filling out a survey we didnt ask for. Very deceptive to find out about the charge 3 weeks later. They refused to remove the fee when we explained how we were deceived into filling it out. We were essentially forced to pay for something we didnt ask for. I understand medical offices are businesses that exist to make money. But it was unfair the way it was forced upon us, and never disclosed. Even more offensive, when we called to discuss the charges, the billing department treated us like our money didnt matter, and not as loyal customers. Even if they technically can charge for a survey (and not disclose it to us), considering the way it was handled, youd think theyd rather waive the $12 fee for something that cost them nothing hand to us. Our daughter is 13 years old and weve never seen anything like this. its a shame we have to be super vigilant about our hard earned money. Again, all we needed was a camp form signed. Shame on the entire medical billing field. I hate to fault the hardworking nurses and doctors at the practice as they all seem fine. However, the billing practices here were a huge turnoff. be very careful in what they hand you, and its safe to assume they wont verify any of your insurance benefits. Dont be surprised when you wont find out you owe them more money several weeks later because they dont bother to tell you at the time.

I am so disappointed in this practice. I have been taking my three kids here for 8.5 yrs and never had a problem with being a couple minutes late. I explained to dr/ receptionist I was stuck in traffic and would be a couple mins late. She said ok-you may have to wait a couple mins to be seen. I said ok Im down the road. When I get to doctors office its now 10 mins after my appointment which was @2:00 the receptionist tells me Im not gonna be seen until 3:50, but I can wait in office. Every doctors I know allows their patient to be 10-15mins late. Even Them....Now its ok for the doctor to be late, but when the patient is late-I cant see them until next available. But at my daughters last appointment I sat in waiting room for an hour tryna to be understanding and accept the facts that things come up. But this time Im late 10mins-I have to wait 2hrs. This is not right. And I will be removing my kids. Their lost and another doctors GAIN.
