I have been going to Joan Choi for about 6 months now and she is AMAZING! I had been suffering from kidney stones for about 19 years. Last week I had severe abdominal cramp & burning sensation. I went to the emergency room. The ct scan revealed that I had a kidney stone 7 mm in diameter and it was stuck in the junction between ureter and bladder and I could not pass it. I have been coming to Joan for over 2 years. She has helped me tremendously with endometriosis pain & back pain. I recently had a major dental issue that caused severe pain. Joan was able to give me 100% pain relief from a cracked molar for 3 months until I had dental surgery. I also had a severe stomach reaction after taking a strong antibiotic after the dental surgery. My digestive system was a mess, with bloating, pain, diarrhea, etc. I tried yogurt, Kombucha & probiotics but had very little relief. Had a great experience so i thought id share my review! I came to Dr Choi for a plethora of issues that have accrued over time for the last few years in college -- most likely from poor posture, constant computer use, constantly sitting in a chair, carrying a heavy book bag, etc. I had pain all over my body (ankles, shins, knees, pelvic bone, spine, back muscles, neck, shoulders) and also had mild insomnia. She treated me methodically and efficiently. Within 1~3 visits, you will definitely be able to see results. The first day I felt tremendous relaxation away from my insomnia and began to feel pleasantly relieved and sleepy. A lot of my body aches were linked so she was very intuitive in seeing the larger picture. Shes also very intelligent and caring so it helps the patient in understanding their body better as well. She gave me a lot of helpful suggestions to help me have better health. Recommended 10/10 for anyone and especially encourage college students to have a visit during their breaks.

I sought relief from severe pain through traditional ways for a long time. I was prescribed a number of medications that never provided real relief without side effects. I felt that the pain was somewhat treated but the source was not sought. I was hesitant to approach an acupuncturist but Joan put me at ease immediately by her confidence in her profession. Joan quickly surmised the situation I was in, Severe lower back cramps and pain, and started treating me immediately. After an hour of laying down in a relaxed position I was able to sleep and and wake up feel some tension but better. This is one of my first reviews on Google but I would like to take the time to recommend Dr. Choi for acupuncture therapy. I came to ACE acupuncture two weeks ago with a very sharp pain in my back due to a bad movement that affected my muscles. I could not bend or rotate my upper body and I could not pick up anything from the floor. The pain was so intense that I was medicated with muscle relaxers. After my first acupuncture session with Dr. Choi, I was able to rotate my upper body to both sides and after my second session the pain greatly decreased. One week after these two sessions, I feel great I don’t need pain medicine and I can move and do my normal routine. I highly recommend ACE acupuncture.

I suffer from migraine for many years and on average before my migraine attacks is about 5-7 a month. Although I described my pain in certain locations, Joan took the time to trace the problem to another point in my body (actually a surgical scar) which brought almost immediate relief when treated. With further treatments, I was free of pain and able to move normally again. Dr. Choi is the best acupuncturist I ever had.I initially went to her, because I am a cancer survivor, and I wanted to do something as an integrative treatment for myself, along with the hormonal treatment that I had just started. I went to this place with my wife and this visit was for my wife. Dr. Choi asked me how I am and I said OKay but a little pain on my arm because I am a picture framer so i have been suffering from this pain for many many years...make short story...She inserted about 20 super thin needles on my head skin and I felt a little pinches here and there on my head not on my arm then wondered why on the head? I couldnt ask why only because I thought she was very serious. Right after she finished checking on what she did, she asked me to twist my arm again after her 5 minute acupuncture treatment....All I said was OMG! ..I could twist my right arm over 90 degree....several minute ago, I could twist my arm only 45 degree...Isnt that amazing?....I also wondered if she will remember all those hair thin needles among thousand hairs...she didnt miss one.
