Been doing yoga app around the world. This is a world class operation. Great instruction and instructors all taught by jimmy who started this style. Highly recommend .

I just completed about four classes at Barkan Yoga - all with instructor Jaime. I cant say enough good things about this place and Jaime. Ive done hot yoga at other places and to be honest, the instructors did not care if I was doing the poses right or not - they dont even check. At Barkan, Jaime and Janice are the best - they actually show me when Im not doing it right, explain the poses and how they benefit the body. I feel better than ever! The setting here is intimate and personal and you really come out of the class feeling that this was the best part of your day.

I only gave it five stars because I couldnt give it six. Jimmy and his teachers have shaped the world for the better. If youre new, or if youre a lifer, this is the spot. Stay loose baby.

I signed up for online yoga teacher training. Had to withdraw because of covid and he kept my $2,750 over drew my account and has caused me allll kinds of legal and financial issues. He told me he would refund my money half and my bank and attorney advised me to charge back the money. He refuses to help me in anyway and tells me too bad sorry! Now the bank is going after my daughters account foe the money that he took! I’ve told him this numerous time and he said oh well not my issue! I’m ready to hire an attorney in Florida since he won’t communicate with me at all! By Law if contract cancelled because of Covid he is to refund 100 % and he won’t give me a dime back ! $2,750 is a lot of money! I told him before I signed up I was nervous etc giving that much money and he told me he would work with me ! And didn’t !

This is my absolute favorite studio! So knowledgeable about the practice and historical concepts of yoga as both a practice and lifestyle I cannot even begin to acknowledge my appreciation and adoration for this studio. It goes beyond a work out.

I have wanted to experience “hot yoga” for the last two years. Every where I went the energy was off. I went to Florida for a family vacation and found this place. It was a wonderful experience. The facility was clean, the staff was very helpful and there is parking. My teacher Peter was amazing; great energy and was very patient with me. My family ranged from ages of 42-69 and we were all able to complete the class. I’m sad I live in Virginia if I didn’t I would be here every week. Great job and I’ll be back soon.

Beautiful studio and wonderful teachers! I am taking the pt. 1 of yoga teacher training and I highly recomend it. Im learning so much and really loving the atmosphere and method of teaching. So thank you Barkan Method for being awesome!

I just finished my first Yoga retreat in Costa Rica with Jimmy Barkan. It was a life enhancing experience. Even though I was not doing the teacher training I felt welcomed and accepted at the level on which I was practicing. Jimmy is a great teacher. He is helpful, observant, and brings light and laughter to his instruction. All his assistants were excellent. So grateful to be immersed in such a wonderful place with an amazing group of people.

Absolutely love everything about this fabulous yoga studio. If you are in the area visiting or live locally, this is one of those places you wish you visited long ago, because you will just live everything about it and will be sure to find something you will really want to come back for. The locations is awesome with plenty of free parking. The classes are absolutely amazing and all the staff are highly skilled and extremely knowledgeable. Love, love, love

Update:I just finished a 40 classes in 60 day challenge with the studio. My experience was beyond amazing. I felt energized in many ways, I have so much gratitude for everyone at the Studio. I am also very inspired by how humble Jimmy himself is.Very grateful to all the teachers who do an amazing job every day to support us. And a big thanks again to Zita for encouraging me to do this challenge. Love you all!Yoga has been a life saviour for me. Its that life line which gives you back unconditionally. I have been blessed to have practiced around the globe under the guidance of several amazing teachers. This studio is beyond amazing, not only do I love the Barkan Method I just love the teachers who make all the difference here. A special mention to Zita who just pours her hearts and soul into her teaching. I so appreciate her classes and support. I also want to mention how Peter helped me get more comfortable with the shoulder stand. I have been overweight for all my life and its these moments where breakthroughs happen. Teachers here are inspiring me to take my yoga practice to the next level. Isnt that what yoga is all about, to strive to be the better you. Edit: I brought review down to one star after calling to cancel my unlimited membership and to see if I could be refunded for the remaining three weeks. The lady at the desk said if I cancelled I’d owe them $10- because the rate would change from unlimited to single drop in. Absolutely outrageous. Horrible customer service- she was terribly rude.Aside from that, to sum my original review this studio is for beginners. Deeper postures aren’t demonstrated or encouraged. Go to original hot yoga on 17th if you want a serious class.

Ive completed the Barkan Method Level I (RYT200) training and also just finished my third Level II/III training. The training that Jimmy, his senior teachers and the Barkan community shares is truly excellent! Highly recommended for anyone interested in learning to teach one of the true great lineages of hot yoga.

I completed one level II/III training with Jimmy Barkan and highly recommend if you want to really learn how to teach and gain practice teaching during your cert. I absolutely love this style of hot yoga and the training is top notch and fun.

Best yoga studio in South Florida! The Barkan Method is the best yoga practice as it incorporates more of a total workout versus some other yoga methods. I highly recommend Barkan. If HOT yoga isnt for you, they also have warm classes. The instructors are all top-notch, trained and knowledgable. The studio is clean and big. They even offer towels, just in case you forget yours at home. I wish I could give 10-stars. :)

Ive been to three teacher training events with Jimmy Barkan. Ive done one in Ft. Lauderdale and two in Costa Rica. All were top notch! If you have interest in Hot Yoga (noun and verb) Jimmy is one of the best, if not the best. I just returned back home from the 20th annual Costa Rica trip. The schedule runs smoothly, his senior staff trainers are knowledgeable and caring. You will get the chance to meet some really amazing people each and every time.

Ive been to countless studios and this by far is one of my favorites. Its a state of the art hot yoga studio that feels like a spa and has very welcoming energy. Not only are the conditions ideal to practice hot yoga (perfect heat and humidity and the flooring is designed for hot yoga), but the teachers are all fantastic and the showers and bathrooms are gorgeous!

If I had the option to give this place negative stars I would. As most know... the front desk is the initial appearance, the first impression of a location. As for this yoga place it was the worst! I signed up to a few classes and now completely regret it! The guy (tall with blondish hair) working the front thought he was better than his position. He was extremely rude... without saying hello or welcoming, he was like name? with a dry attitude and proceeded passing me a clipboard wanting me to complete as he continued his conversation with another guy next to him. I was in complete disbelief to see how someone like him could actually work with customers. It seems like he was arguing with someone because he was so disgustingly rude to people checking in as well .... Horrible attitude! You project your bad attitude on to other people and this should be a place of zen!

I have practiced at numerous studios and am happy to have found a home in Barkan Method in Fort Lauderdale. Wonderful caring instructors, beautiful facility and a warm environment. Great for beginners and seasoned practitioners alike

I have had the privilege to grow up with this studio and I work the desk and practice here as much as I can. I recommend this studio to anyone who wants to come and try hot yoga whether theyve practiced before or not. The studio and the instructors who teach their are beautiful and I encourage everyone to come and sweat with us at the Barkan Method.

It’s the best Yoga Yoga in Lauderdale. Not Yoga-size. The warm yoga is perfect as the hot gets HOT. It’s a real yoga studio. I’ve been doing yoga all over the world and it’s real (Western) Yoga.

I love the Barkan method hot yoga studio! Im the least flexible person and with the warm temperature and helpful yogis, I was able to accomplish poses I never thought I could. I highly recommend this studio for anyone who wants a challenging workout without compromising on the very spiritual practice of yoga itself.

I am still feeling the glow of the fantastic Barkan Method Hot Yoga Level II/III training in Costa Rica in May 2019. I am compelled to write this review to express how essential and life changing this training with Jimmy Barkan is. The venue was the Pura Vida Spa in Alajuela, Costa Rica. A magical place -- palms, orchids, mango trees laden with fruit, exotic birds singing their heads off! The place blew my mind with the richness of visual, auditory, and sensual beauty. The training itself was expertly conducted by Jimmy Barkan. He has the knowledge from 30+ years of teaching and mentoring his yoga teachers and students in the asanas and the history and culture of yoga. In my mind his biggest talent is creating a community of yogis who love and support each other. During the week-long training, he somehow manages to make each person shine and feel special within the group. Over the week, we continued to bond. When the training concluded, we were all a little sad to say good-bye but with the knowledge that we would make an effort to see each other again. Many return each year, either to Costa Rica or to Ft. Lauderdale, or sometimes yogis go to others cities to visit their yogi pals from the Barkan family and perhaps teach a class in each others studios. It is an amazing community of yogis.I highly, and enthusiastically, recommend Jimmy Barkan to all yoga teachers and students.

I moved to Ft. Lauderdale about 2 years ago and I tried out all the studios in the area - I did everyone’s new student special and then would leave... until I walked into Barkan. I’ve been here ever since. Each teacher is fun, unique and knowledgeable. Get in there and your day will instantly improve. Check them out. You won’t be disappointed!!

AMAZING!!!! :-)I searched for 2 years after moving down here, trying out numerous studios, sometimes over 1hr drive. (I live over 30mns from Barkan)I hit the jackpot when I came across Barkan, bar none, this is the best studio around.I have never taken 1 class that I wasnt impressed with!I wish I could practice here everyday...FABULOUS!!!!

The Barkan Method of Ft. Lauderdale is very welcoming for beginner Yogis. The instructors take the time to help you, the facility is very nice. Overall great and very addicting!

My first class today with Matt and wow what a first time experience. At 102 degrees and a class filled with positive energy, I pushed myself thru moves that I can only imagine to master in years to come. My GF KK pushed me to go as she has already completed 4 classes and loves the classes. As I dripped in sweat from head to toe I felt I was cleaning out any toxicity in my body and what a great feeling this was. Such a series of strengthening and stretching moves hit every part of my body as well as the mental element that was relaxing at the same time. I will be back and maybe next time you will also try this total mind and body experience.

Soon to start my 18th year at Barkan Yoga. I love it- always nonjudgmental & encouraging! Great location & love the teachers & staff!

Best yoga studio in all of South Florida. Its the only place I go when Im home.

Ive been doing hot yoga for several years now, and Barkan is my favorite place to practice.I was weaned on Bikram in NYC, partially because it was so convenient to my apartment. I only tried something else when I moved to Fort Lauderdale, and Im glad I did. I much prefer this style of yoga to the endless repetition of Bikram.I really appreciate the wide variety of instructors and styles at Barkan. Whereas at Bikram, the only real difference you find between instructors is how disciplined they are at maintaining the room temperature, at Barkan you find a wide variety of not only room temperature, but practice style and intensity.It does take a little while to find an instructor that suits the practice you want, but I think its well worth the time investment.I would, however, love to see the studio encourage the instructors to put more information about how they lead their classes into their bios.

Been practicing over 5 years and this is the best studio Ive found.
