My son was diagnosed with a rapid moving cancer. He lived in NYC however needed to move in with me in Florida because he couldnt negotiate stairs, and after chemo treatments would get very sick. There were not too many places I could take him - the beach to see the ocean, but he was very isolated. In NYC he was always busy. Now he had no purpose but to try to beat cancer, a very important purpose, he needed to be with others who understood what he was going through. Then we found Gildas Club. A welcoming, tranquil home (except for the peacocks). I am forever grateful for the respite where he was not alone, where he could talk to others who understood. Thank you so much.

Gildas Club is such an important resource here in South Florida. Working with Vanessa Seltzer from the Club I have learned so much about what they do, and how they support the cancer community. If you or someone you know needs cancer support, especially during these crazy Covid times, reach out! They are here for you!

Today I went to register at Gildas Club. I have stage 4 breast cancer and it is difficult to find resources that support me as I strive to live the best possible life I can, for as long as I can. When I entered the big red door of the main entrance, I felt like I had come home. The members of staff were welcoming. I met with Megan and Whitney, who were professional, compassionate and thorough in telling me all about Gildas Club. It was Whitneys first day at Gildas Club. I wish her the best of luck! She was so lovely! Megan had a quiet, nurturing way of being in her interaction with me, which made me feel safe. I have had so many experiences where I felt like I was unheard and dismissed. At Gildas Club I felt like I mattered and that the staff genuinely cared about my well-being. When I walked out through the big red door, I was elated. Then I saw them! There were about a dozen peacocks walking around outside the property! That really made my day! Thank you, Gildas Club!

Limited parking always annoying. Has so much potential. Great location but not enough programs. I dont understand what that entire building is used for day to day if their handful of support groups only meet once per week, at most.
