Would highly recommend for future emergency veterinary needs. Our cat had a string coming out of her behind. This can be life threatening. The people who spoke to us on the phone and greeted us at the door were professional and calm. They told us the exam fee would be $150 which we found reasonable for an emergency medical visit. Happy to report it was a piece a grass. They took care of the issue swiftly and very generously said we didn’t have to pay for that service. Great full to have some piece of mind and to be able to sleep tonight knowing my kitty is ok. Thank you so much Fort Collins Veterinary Emergency and Rehabilitation Hospital.

This place saved my baby boys life. He is an 8 month old chocolate lab and swallowed something he shouldn’t have. We brought him in as soon as we noticed something was wrong, and it turned out he needed an emergency surgery or to be put down. It was a very emotional experience since our dogs are our children, but I couldn’t be any happier with the care that he received. They were very informative to us and broke down the cost for everything which made it easy to understand. They were very knowledgeable and got him in for surgery that same evening. He was severely dehydrated from vomiting so much (he couldn’t hold anything down nor would he eat) He needed 2 feet of his intestines removed which was very scary, however, they did an amazing job on it and I’m so beyond happy I trusted them with my baby. They saved his life and I will forever be grateful! The staff seemed very genuine and caring for my pup. I called every few hours to ask how he was doing and they always kept me updated and informed and had answers for me right away. Thank you so much for saving my baby boy!

I had to take my fur baby here VERY early one Saturday morning. I knew although I was bringing her there I would not be bringing her home with me. The entire staff here are truly amazing! They actually care. Its not just another animal or just a dog. These people have compassion and their hearts are so full you can feel it overflowing to you and your pet.I called about 0330 asking them for advice and what they could do as we had never been there before. The person answering was very empathetic and explained a bit more about their processes. Shortly after that call, I made the decision to bring my Lil Ms. Ginny in to them. The check in process was simple and quick, they took her in the back to get her ready and brought her back to me in no time. The vet who helped her across the Rainbow Bridge was compassionate, understanding, and was very adept.Thank you for making this painful moment so filled with compassion and heart. I really wish they took clients for regular appointments as well as emergency visits.

I had a new puppy that was lethargic and not eating the food that was sent home.Overall they tried to scare me into thinking my puppy would die within min if I didn’t approve their inpatient treatment. They tried to scam me out of 2-4 grand, when at the end, a little sugar is all he needed…. But they had me and my boys in tears. The point is, they didn’t test him for the most obvious, cheapest problem of a sugar deficiency… they wanted to quarantine, give IV, and treat for parvo even though he had all his shots and was negative. Here’s the chain of events so you can be aware, because I know it’s the only place open on Sunday.1. They wanted to test for parvo because he hadn’t had all its shots2. I showed him that he had all 3 shots they claimed he didn’t3. They demanded a parvo test anyways for an additional 80.4. Parvo was negative5. They said he could still have parvo because of the way puppies were.6. They wanted to take him in patient for 2-4 GRAND because he was so sick, and I needed to make an immediate decision or he could die.7. I told them I wanted to call the place I got him at the previous day to see how they wanted to handle it… 15 min wait, but they were causing panic saying he would die.8. The seller said to bring him back9. As I was leaving, they said they treated him for hypoglycemia at no charge10. By the time I got the the seller, the puppy was already making a recovery from the “treatment” they gave him - find out later it was just corn syrup a small amount put in his mouth.11. The seller showed me different foods and in 30 min he was completely fine.

Watch out for these jokers as there isn’t much about this place that is urgent. We waited outside, away from our animal, for two hours before they finally came out to secure payment for treatment and overnight care. Our animal was dead before we got home. We wish we could have been with our animal during those last two hours instead of being locked out of the process. I was denied the opportunity to see my animal one last time the next morning. I was told to try back later and maybe they could arrange a visit. No compassion. You’d likely be better off taking your animal home and hoping for the best or at least being able to say good bye.Update: We we’re finally allowed to see our animal after a little run around.

My elderly cat got a bad upper respiratory infection and we took her here as it was a Saturday and no place else had been open. They charged us 1300.00 dollars to do nothing but give her two doses of antibiotics and some fluids(which I’m not even sure they did because she was extremely dehydrated still when I got her). They also wanted to numb the price up to 3,300 dollars to keep her overnight. Don’t go here, will cost you and arm and a leg and not get any results.

Our guinea pig, Popcorn was acutely very ill and close to death. We called ahead and asked if they would be able to euthanize him to relieve his suffering, they agreed and we headed right over. They had stated over the phone that we would not be able to be present for the procedure. We were fine with this, however being a veterinary professional I double checked when we arrived and asked why we wouldn’t be able to be present. Then, it came out that the doctor is “busy with critical patients” and would not be able to do the euthanasia for a couple of hours. We knew Popcorn wouldn’t last that long and didn’t want him to die alone in a cage. We were told we could call back in a couple of hours then…As a veterinary nurse, everywhere that I have worked we would never turn away an emergency euthanasia. Euthanizing a guinea pig takes less than ten minutes and is not a difficult procedure. My hopes are that the receptionist didn’t grasp the situation we were in or was new and lacking in training and that the veterinarian would not have actually chosen that route of action. After a few minutes of crying in the parking lot wondering what we should do, Popcorn became agonal and started to die. Even though CSUs urgent care wasn’t taking new patients after hours I needed to try to call them to allow Popcorn’s last moments to be gentle and pain free. Although understaffed, CSU took him in right away and euthanized him moments after we arrived. The ER might be a great hospital with great doctors, knowledgeable staff, shiny new machines but due to the lack of empathy we received from the receptionist, we left feeling traumatized from this experience.

I want anyone who is considering coming here to read my review, please.Honestly, I was wary of coming here because of a few negative reviews, while most of them seemed silly, you never know, but I desperately needed emergency care for my dog and took a shot in the dark as we have never been here before and we have only lived in Fort Collins for two months. My dog ate a piece of plastic and became impacted overnight and was internally bleeding. My husband and I thought we were going to lose her. The staff here was rapid fire to make sure our Sophie was seen. The entire staff including the Dr’s were in communication with us the entire time, they were honest, and fast. They saw my dog quickly, created a treatment plan, went over options, and then cost. They were compassionate when I cried on the phone, they never hid anything financially and did NOT make this about the cost. They are a 24 hour vet office and need to be able to continue this incredible operation for those concerned about cost. The cost associated made complete sense for the value of what we received (they saved our dogs life..) I feel comfortable calling them with questions and everyone is so sincere and caring. My husband and I cannot thank them enough. 10/5 stars for these hero’s!

Over the course of 24 hours, I had the unfortunate experience of my cat having trouble urinating and ended up taking him in to the ER twice. Through 3 shift changes, all 3 vets I spoke with were knowledgeable and comforting, even at 1am. They took care of him and did what they needed to do, always asking permission before it was done and worked on options that could be affordable. When he needed immediate surgery the next day to have bladder stones removed, they gave me several options of more affordable surgery clinics (I ended up going to Animal Works, who were also amazing.) They loaned me a crate and we were able to transport him with the catheter in. He is now recovering beautifully and napping on my leg. Thank you so much for all of your help and guidance while I was tired and stressed!!!!

A great place to go if your pet is in need of emergency care! I couldnt be happier with treatment and expertise of Dr. Romero, the staff, and the front desk. They are open 24 hours a day and will give expert diagnosis, treatment, and advise that will surpass your expectations. As it is an urgent treatment center, wait times may be a little longer and prices slightly higher, but this is completely understandable and I would not hesitate to return for care if I ever had a pet in need. Our puppy had a bad eye infection on Christmas Eve and no where else could fit us in for an appointment. Dr. Romero and the staff gave our dog the proper time and attention to give us a full diagnosis and treatment plan that I couldnt be happier with. Thank you!

Would not recommend. Brought my overall healthy cat in for boarding, due to her needing a manual bladder expression from a previous injury. This is a simple task- as we do it at home daily, and the professional vets were unable to do this without having to sedate her. Was quoted a high price of $500-600 for only 3 days of boarding a cat that barely needed any services or attending to. Ended up paying significantly higher than that- and took my cat home and she could barely walk from all the sedation. When I asked them to break down the invoice, they were unaware as to why they charged me certain things. We’ve taken her to numerous vets and it’s been years since her injury, and they treated her like a horribly sick cat. In reality, we just needed help with a simple bladder expression (something vet technicians are trained to do), and they gave her back to us with a list of problems and medications that she never needed in the past. They forgot to ask me for her food, and when I brought it to them - they didn’t even ask me how much to feed her. I had to ask “don’t you need to know how much food to give her?” Very unprofessional, and do not tell you much about what goes on behind closed doors. Was told I’d get a call 2x/day from techs to follow up- received one call the entire time she was boarded. They don’t sincerely care, just want your money.

I was told to rush my dog there after he starting vomiting blood (this is a young healthy 2 year old Lab). After paying them nearly $900 up front I was told that someone would call me in 2 hours. I didnt get a phone call, no updates and when I did talk to the front desk I was told they had numerous critical cases which apparently meant that my dog wasnt? The tone was condescending and I hope the front desk person finds a new career because she is no good at the one she has. I began to realize I was being lied to so I went to see for myself the extent of the emergencies and I was envisioning cars and people anxiously waiting for their severely injured pets.No one was there - not even staff. I finally get a call (6 hours in...) from the Doctor, Lindsey Dunn, DVM, who said my dog was exhibiting hostility and they would NOT be able to rehydrate him (what did all that money pay for?) and would I please come in and get him. I never saw her I dont think she was in the building. I only saw two people in the building at 11 p.m. one was the front desk person. I did get a report filled with typos and no test results - no breakdown of what the $900 paid for I was actually told part of estimate was for rehydration. Surprise, I didnt get a credit for them NOT doing their job. I am so disgusted and utterly disappointed that in a City filled with amazing Veterinarians I got them. PLEASE DO NOT take you pets here.

Do not go here. The vets here are not helpful at all, they couldnt tell me what was wrong with my dog until we had already paid the vet bill. My dog suffered from cluster seizures starting the day we came to this facility and afterward for 3 days until we put her down. But this facility couldnt identify that she was having seizures ( even though when we described what she was going through.) Im not upset that we had to pay the vet, but that they couldnt identify that she was having seizures but also that this facility tried to hold custody of my dog until we paid this facility. I have talked to multiple vets after we had came here and all of them have told me that they cannot hold custody of a pet that way. Not only with that information but also had identified her having seizures over the phone. ( edit my first review had very little information of the visit. But also my poor way of conveying my experience at this facility. Might be a fake Google name from childhood but a very real experience with a lot of heartbreak from 7 month old puppy having to be put down.)

Horrible experience with this vet making a bad day even worse. Our senior dog was in need of emergency attention. We called upon arrival and was told to wait for a call back to get her checked in. After almost 30 min, no call. During this time our dog had vomited multiple times in the car. We called back to see if they could bring out some paper towels while we waited. Again, no one came out, no call after another roughly 15 minutes of waiting. We thought this was an emergency vet and ended up waiting far too long to get our dog in. Had to leave and go to elsewhere after wasting 45 minutes of valuable time. Even still, after the whole day, no call back.

Their pricing is fair. I wasnt thrilled with our recent visit. 4 years ago we had to bring our dog here and she was cared for very well. This visit was for our cat...and I wasnt impressed. The doctor speaks very softly so it is hard to hear her and I guess no one has told her, Get to the point! What I wanted to know was, what have you found out and is he going to be OK. I wasnt interested in her voicing various scenarios as to what might have caused the injury. We had no idea what had happened to him. Was it a snakebite? Yes or no. No? Then what is going to be the treatment plan? Maybe it is just that I had driven a very long way, it was very late at night and I was very tired... but having to listen to a lot of talk that didnt matter, didnt help my mood. They said he was all done and all she had to do was print out some papers and they would be bringing him out. It took them 20 minutes to print out 2 pieces of paper? There are 2 parking spots out front. I was in one, a van was in the other. How hard is it to find the car? Are you parked in the spot closer to the street, or closer to building? I just told you there is a van and a car and I am in the car! Seriously?

I will never be going back here.I took my 17 year old cat in with a swollen painful paw and told them he had just moved in with other cats and it was highly likely he got in a fight with one of them. I was there from midnight - 4am and paid upwards of $600 (!!!) for them to tell me he had a sprained paw and gave me some pain meds for him. He was supposed to get 3 pills and when I got home and opened the bag there was only 1. I went back and got the rest but his condition continued to decline over the next few days. They had taken blood so his back leg had a wrap on it, the next morning when I woke up I noticed that leg was swollen to twice the size it should be! It was so painful that I had to hold him down and forcibly cut off the wrapping in order for his leg to regain circulation, good thing I did. His original hurt paw continued to swell and his pain was getting worse.I took him to my normal veterinarian 3 days later where they told me he was actually bitten in the paw and had a giant abscess. It took my regular vet 30 minutes and $150 to diagnose and treat him properly. Because Fort Collins veterinary emergency did not discover the bite wound (they didn’t even shave his paw to examine it) they did not prescribe antibiotics so my cat (who is 17 years old) was battling his infection alone for those 3 days. Not only that but I encountered a few very rude employees at Fort Collins emergency vet as well. When a pet owner is dealing with an emergency with their pet the last thing they need is a rude employee disregarding them. I would highly recommend not going here.

One of my roomates cats was taken here the other night, he is 17 years old but over all a happy and healthy cat. He had bad foot pain and wasnt acting normal. She scrambled trying to get the INSANE fee covered for the vets to treat him, but she did and paid. All for them to tell her that he had a sprained ankle. He has only gotten worse over the last 3 days so she took him to her regular vet who immediatley noticed he had been given the complete wrong care and was left to fight the now infected foot on his own for the last 3 days. And that is the short of it 🙄

Dr. Ella Arume at VERH was amazing during our emergency visit last night! Unfortunately one of our dogs suffered a bite and needed emergency care. Our pup is generally not a fan of strangers or being handled by them, and especially when she is injured and scared. Dr. Arumes demeanor was perfect for our pup - she was gentle, very dog savvy, and calming, and was able to examine her while our pup was sitting on her lap, unmuzzled, and Dr. Arume caught a heart murmur and tailored her sedation to that. We had an awesome experience!!

They did a wonderful job with my cat and shes doing just fine now. Staff was kind and very considerate. They worked with me every step and kept me updated. I wasnt worried, beyond the normal pet parent paranoia, because I knew what was going on at all times. Her home care was reviewed with my before I brought her home. Instructions were clear and concise. Im very satisfied with the treatment she received.Payment is due at time of service and emergency services arent cheap, but thats going to be expensive anywhere be it for a pet or a person. They will give you a detailed invoice before you agree to treatment and go over your options. I have Trupanion, so that made my decision-making for treatment easier, but you do have to file claims on your own. This means you will still have to pay full price and be reimbursed by insurance later. They provided me with an itemized receipt and that made filing my claim much easier. Financially, there werent any real surprises given her course of treatment.

I took my dog to FCVE&RH in morning because she appeared to be feeling unusually ill. The morning team did a nice job of explaining their triaging and asking for authorization prior to ordering tests. All of the tests ordered were reasonable and indicated. I appreciated their conservative approach to the problem. Throughout the day I would periodically check in on my dog’s status. Towards the evening I become growingly concerned that more status changes hadn’t been noted. After discussing my concerns with the evening doctor, Dr. Marchewitz, she kindly and thoroughly explained what was going on. Furthermore, Nathan took ample time at pickup to review the care plan in detail. The total cost of my dog’s all day stay was expensive, but comparable to other EM clinics. I feel confident in the care received and appreciative of the compassion shown by many of the team members.

Thank you!! I have had to bring two pets (a dog and a cat) to this clinic and both times, the vets and techs handled the situations with great care, empathy, and thoroughness. Both animals I brought in are not easy to handle at the vets but all staff members here always managed the conditions expertly and kindly. In my experience, which spans widely, this is definitely one of the more affordable emergency clinics in this region. I highly recommend!

Brought one of my pitties down from Cheyenne at 4:30am due to her having breathing difficulties. Unfortunately there wasn’t much able to be done due to the severity of what was causing her issues (the vets in Cheyenne didn’t have the necessary equipment). These folks welcomed us in and got her hooked up to the machines. Unfortunately we had her put down and the staff did everything to give us time with her and stay with her while she went to sleep. Thank you so much for making this heartbreaking time easier.

The vets and staff were exceedingly kind and competent in dealing with my sick 13 year old lab. They tried very hard to figure out why she couldnt keep food down. When she started aspirating vomit we made the decision to put her to sleep. It was a gut wrenching decision and the vets were so kind. I miss my dog so much but at least her last day was spent in compassionate hands.

Maggie our 7 years old brown lab had TPLO surgery on her knee last week. Michael Hernandez was our point of contact with the office. Communication both before, on the day, and after surgery, was excellent. All the staff were attentive and compassionate. Dr Gall, a visiting surgeon, did Maggies operation and I cant believe how quickly she is recovering: obviously already having less discomfort than prior to the surgery. The fees were reasonable, and I regard them as excellent value for the money. Running a clinic like this one is enormously costly, generally the public have no idea of the overheads. (As a retired dentist, I do)Thanks to all the staff at the Hospital, great job!

I brought my cat in because she was unfocused and had shortness of breath. They took us to a room and then took her to the back to get her vitals. When they came back I found out they had ultrasounded her because they couldnt find her heartbeat! I work with horses and had a stethoscope on hand at home, so I had taken her vitals right before coming in. How was *I* able to find her heartbeat, and these trained professionals not?!They did not ask permission to do so before hand, and I was stuck with a an extra $300 on my bill! When they first told me they had ultrasounded her, I told them I cant afford something like that. I was a college student. They told me theyd take care of it. I dont know what they meant by that, because when I pointed it out on the bill they told me that it was too late, they ultrasounded her and so I had to pay it. I ended up having to put her to sleep, and then was handed a bill I could not afford. I was so distraught I didnt know what you do. So I paid with my credit card and had to sell plasma to pay it off.Worst vet experience Ive ever had.

I have brought my animals here for years. I have generally been very satisfied with their care and pricing during emergency situations. Last week, I brought my duck there with a hardened mass of duck poop and dirt stuck to dry skin under her eye. I had been unable to dislodge it with warm compresses so I needed help. Though they dont normally see ducks, it was not an avian illness but a simple problem. The vet poured eyewash on it, said it needed hot compresses and I should go see a duck specialist at CSU. For that I was charged $175. This seemed exorbitant. It is the luck of the draw that this was a Sunday and I could not bring the duck to my regular vet, but $118. to walk in the door and then another almost $60 for pouring eyewash on it? The vet did not even apply a hot compress to it herself. And no tech offered to hold the duck...my daughter did that. When I contacted them via email, I got a voicemail back. But my second and third emails have met with no response! My third email asked how to review them on their site. Obviously, they did not want a bad (but measured and honest) review on their site. This silence was perhaps the final straw. It makes all of the reviews on their site feel curated so that only good ones may appear. All of my emails to them were civil but forthright. Given my years of history there, I am giving them a 3 instead of a 1 but this was a pretty appalling visit and aftermath and so I am reviewing to say Buyer Beware and get a full description of charges upfront. No one should have paid $175 for what I experienced. And they should have worked with me harder to come to resolution.

Ill start off by saying I am an ICU nurse. I took my sick ferret boy into the Vet here. Although there wasnt much we could do for him long term, I am confident when I say that these wonderful people truly tried. I was concerned that I would be dismissed because he was a ferret, not a cat or dog. I was very impressed with the respect and treatment that my boy recieved. He was treated with the care and respect that I provide my human patients. The Vets, nurses, vet techs, etc, were all very good at communicating with me. I feel like the Vet spent more time with me than my docs do with their patients sometimes! I just wanted to say that I appreciate you all so much and I would absolutely reccommend this establishment to anyone with a sick fur baby.

Incredibly disappointed with the poor care our dog received here. We brought our mastiff here for his swollen leg rather than our regular vet because of the holiday weekend. 6.5 hours and a $1600 bill later, we had a diagnosis of “swollen leg”, antibiotics that needed to be taken with food when we told them he wasn’t eating, and no improvement or clear direction of expectations moving forward. They gave him back to us with his leg bleeding all over the waiting room and subsequently told us he received the “gold star” level of care. Really? Over-utilization of services (more money for unnecessary services), poor care, and even worse management in handling our complaints after the fact. Please do yourselves and your pets a favor and take them elsewhere.

My experience here was not the best at all. Took my cat here late at night since she was in pain and we thought she might have swallowed something. Her regular vet gave her medication and asked to monitor her, and in case of pain she told us to take her to an Emergency Hospital, have them ultrasound her and maybe give some medication for pain. After explaining the situation to the vet tech, he took her temperature (never said if it was good or not), and once I sad I understood a lot about cats, he asked how I knew so much. When I said I had worked in vet clinics (I’m a pre vet student) back home in Brazil, he said nothing but: “Oh so that’s third world stuff”, not realizing how offensive that was. After talking to the vet, she said she could call another vet for ultrasound but none of them would come out since it was late at night (around 10:30pm). Nothing for pain was given and she told us to head to CSU instead. For all this, they charged me $118.

We recently had a tough, sudden illness with our sweet golden retriever, and the staff at Lemay Emergency Vet was nothing less than spectacular. They were genuinely caring and compassionate, but also honest about the situation and our options without sugar coating so we had as much information as possible. We knew every step of the way that our girl was in great hands and that they were giving 110% to get her back to health. Unfortunately when i turned out that her condition was terminal, the team took as good of care of us as they did for her, and even sent the most beautiful and personal condolence card in the mail afterwards. I wish I could rate these people higher. I had a horrible day of trying to get my dog some help for a really bad cut on her leg. I had people treating my dog like she was nothing and no one would help for under $1000 which had to be played up front. I finally contacted this place which seemed to be heaven sent. On the phone they lady said I dont know who would charge $1000 for a laceration but it sounds like she really needs help so just being her to me and we will figure out the money after. This lady was so nice that she had me crying in the phone. So we get there and get my dog into a room, and this lady could obviously see the day we had because she brought us hot tea and a blanket for my dog so she wouldnt have to lay on the cold tile. I say with my dog on the floor and the vet tech came in to do vitals. He insisted that we dont move and say on the floor with us, talked to and calmed my dog, and then did all her vitals. Same thing with the vet, she insisted that we stay comfy with the dog and she sat with us working around me to help my dog. They had my dog wagging her tail (which she hadnt done all day) and had me crying with how over whelmingly friendly they are and how much they care. I left my dog for a couple hours so she could finally get fixed up and when I picked her up the vets were very much wanting to help get her to the car so nothing would happen. At the end of it, I payed $500 for far beyond amazing service from people who really care for your animal as well as you. I highly recommend these guys. They are truly incredible people.

Our Vet Tech, Nicole, was wonderful, even offering to lend us one of her orthopedic dog beds during my dogs recovery.
