Had to create a new profile to update my review...9 months later...still no communication from the office. Received an EOB yesterday that the claim was correctly submitted and paid on 9/16. You would think this would prompt an apology from the office or billing rep that could have avoided this last year and an eager attempt to schedule my missed appointment ..but no. I have also been mysteriously removed and blocked from the online support group. Nice. Again...seems retaliatory and petulant. Thank goodness the hospital has their own group. Make sure to join that one. Still hoping for the office to do the decent and proper thing by apologizing for the error and contacting me to make this right. We shall see. My primary physician has had to review my 6 months labs as this office refused to allow me to make an appointment. I am also still owed a $40 refund of nutritional copay that was fully covered by insurance but charged anyway. Advice to potential patients: be VERY CAREFUL with insurance and billing. Keep your own records and check everything. Again, I will update if there is new information.

I had gastric bypass surgery in 2011 with a different surgeon/practice, unfortunately I regained almost all the the weight I’ve had lost. When I reached out I was told they do not accept my new insurance and I was out of luck... after much research for revision surgery and a few consultations I found the office of Dr. Jawed. They didn’t turn me away, like others did (because the original surgery was with a different surgeon). They welcomed me with open arms. Dr. Jawed, Lynda, Pat, Paige, and Matt were great in helping me get through the entire process flawlessly. In less than 3 months I was able to have revision surgery of my gastric bypass. Today, a year later I can say I’ve lost almost 100lbs and I’m 15 lbs away from my goal weight.Thank you for giving me the opportunity to a fresh start.

I met Dr. Jawed about a little over two years ago. From day one when he introduced himself I felt an assurance about him. We discussed sleeve surgery and he was very pleasant and not business as usual. The good doctor performed sleeve surgery on me March 2019, I was at 314lbs. It was a great success! It is now July 4th, 2020, I now weigh an amazing 174lbs! I feel great my health is phenomenal. This this whole time of the process Dr. Jawed team walks you through every step of the way!

I had the sleeve procedure surgery with Dr. Jawed a little over a month ago. Everything has gone great and his office staff is wonderful. Special shout out to Anna, Carmen and Matt. Every time I call or email I get a quick response. I gave this a lot of thought over the last three years and its one of the best decisions I have made!

Just an excellent doctor. I had an inguinal hernia repaired by Dr. Jawed and everything from the initial consultation to the surgery and follow up was extraordinary. His skill as surgeon was clearly evident in my recovery as I was up and about doing my normal activities in no time at all.In addition both my parents and my wife commented on how impressed they were with Dr. Jawed when he explained to them post surgery how everything went and the instructions to follow.Highly recommended.

I met with Dr. Jawed in October 2019 to discuss having the VSG surgery. From day one, Dr. Jawed listened thoughtfully to me and my concerns and he was excellent with answering my questions. He treated me like a person and not just another obese patient some doctors make you feel like. After the first visit, I knew 100% he’s who I wanted to operate on me. His office arranged all of the visits I needed and did all of the insurance paperwork; all I needed to do was show up to the appointments. I’m currently six months post op and down 72lbs and could not be happier with my decision and choice of surgeon: I meet with him regularly to monitor my progress and he’s always encouraging and offering great advice. I can’t recommend him and his team enough!

When I left my previous review, I was called and asked to take it down due the negative impact it may have on the companys reputation. After much thought, and consideration, I still confidently feel that this is a VERY appropriate rating.

Dr. Jawed and Dr. Abkin are so helpful and caring. I went in for a consult for revision/repair of my rny gastric bypass and Dr. Jawed actually listened to me. He took into account all my symptoms and sent me right in for testing and scheduled me for surgery within weeks of our first meeting. I ended up being pregnant the first go and had to wait until my baby boy came but as soon as I was ready he rescheduled my surgery and I was good to go. Thank you to the staff and doctors. this was a wonderful experience and I am so glad I found you.

A life saving experience. Unbelievably brilliant practice!! Caring, professional and responsive. Every interaction from the first call to schedule with Matt, to checking in for appointments, to the nurses and educators, and of course the amazing surgeons made me feel important and understood. Finally a medical practice that cared about my health and concerns. They improved my quality of life in two weeks while other doctors left me suffering for 30 years. Thank you very much not just from me but my whole family!!!

My experience was mostly with Dr. Abkin, although Dr. Jawed performed my Endoscopy and he was lovely, as he put me at ease because I was so nervous. Dr. Abkin was amazing from my consult appointment to surgery day. Not only is he highly skilled, he has a great disposition and welcomes questions from his patients. Plus he loves a good joke, which put me at ease on the big day. 😉 The support staff is great as well. I would absolutely not hesitate recommendIng this practice to anyone. You will be in excellent hands!

Laparoscopic surgery is the only way to go!! Dr. Jawed is an amazing surgeon and has an excellent staff!I had open surgery 19 years ago to repair a sports hernia, while playing football... I remember being off my feet for almost 1-2 weeks following surgery, from the extreme soreness/pain.I had a recurrence/tear to the same side, hernia, September of this year and went in to see Dr. Jawed. He recommended using mesh since it was a re-occurrence and reassured me that recovery with robotic surgery would be much less, with previous patients being on their feet and back to work 3-4 days after surgery. He also recommended a particular hospital for the staff and scheduling.I can honestly say it was the smoothest procedure Ive experienced, from the amazing staff to the brand new Da Vinci robot the hospital had just received, among the number other robots they already had.As the doctor had mentioned, I was able to walk around with very little soreness 3-4 days after the surgery. I was almost shocked at how good I felt that I needed to remind myself to take it easy, being that the procedure was very recent.I would recommend Dr. Jawed and Laparoscopic surgery for any procedure, but especially for hernia repairs based on my results.

I first visited this office in March of 2016, everyone was informative, patient and understanding of my journey. I started with one idea in mind and with this offices guidance (surgeon, nutritionist, medical billing) I had the sleeve surgery. They worked with my insurance - right down to two days before my surgery, the staff was going on vacation and she worked to get my approval while on vacation so my surgery stayed on schedule. I would recommend this practice to anyone considering weight loss surgery

I had my gastric sleeve surgery on 4/22/14. My weight at the time of surgery was 400lbs. Just over 1 year out I was down 200lbs and have kept it off! Dr. Abkin and all the staff were great they were always very friendly and professional! Id highly recommend anyone looking into weight loss surgery to contact their office!

Dr. Abkin and Dr. Jawed were lifesavers! I had weight loss surgery with a different physician and ended up with complications. They took their time to work with me and gave me all my options. By the time I left their office, I was secure in knowing what options were available to me and how to proceed. Every step of the way. Working. With the dietician, insurance coordinator and my favorite. The behavioral therapist. She was so kind and took so much time with me. It made all the difference. I had surgery with this group in 2014. Best decision of my life. I started with a seminar and when I went in 3 months later the doctor from the seminar (Dr. Abkin) remembered me. He treated me like a human from day one. I participated in the medically supervised diet and had the help of the nursing and nutritionist staff. I had tons of insurance issues that his office navigated with ease. Dr. Abkin took time before and after my surgery to talk to my overly protective family to put them at ease. There is plenty of support if you want to partake in it.

I had a great experience with Dr. Abkin and everyone at Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeons of Morris. In addition to having a complication-free vsg, I found everyone in the practice to be extremely supportive before, during, AND after my surgery. I would highly recommend this office to anyone seeking out WLS.

Dr Akbins office made this choice in life very easy and painlesss. I came in for my consultation and same day set up my surgery and the staff gives you all the steps needed to take to get insurance approval and nutrition guidence needed before and stern surgery. They couldnt have made it any easier and happy with my post surgery results with Dr Abkin.

From my first consultation with Dr Abkin and Dr Jawed, I was sure I made the right decisions-to have WLS and to have picked Dr Abkin for my surgeon. They were compassionate, confident and encouraging from that day through the surgery and follow up. The office staff set up everynecessary appointment and walked me through the entire process. Within 3 weeks from the intial meeting I was all set for surgery without any difficulty. I would recommend this practice to anyone who is considering WLS.

I would absolutely not recommend this office!!!! I did not have my surgery with them, however, visited one of their nutritionists. While she is absolutely wonderful, the billing staff is completely unprofessional. I contacted this office to obtain the proper NPI number for the insurance referral and was provided the incorrect number for the specific location. I learned this after my visits and receiving several bills for 3 visits. I contacted my insurance, who advised me the office submitted under a doctor I never heard of. Upon advising the billing dept., I was told I was incorrect and they would not resubmit. I contacted my insurance company and my primary care for help. My primary care advised they would rectify the situation and there was no need for me to make any further contact. About 1 month later, I received a collections letter, despite messages left advising that I was in contact with insurance and my primary care. I then called the billing office again, left a message requesting a call back with information as to the status after contact with my primary care and did not receive a call back. It was only after once again contacting my insurance provider that I learned the bills were not paid due to the office staff providing me with the incorrect NPI number. Its very unfortunate that the lack of professionalism and incorrect information provided by their own office has caused me to take my business elsewhere and notify others to do the same!!!! Not to mention, I am forced to pay over $400.00 because of misinformation provided by their office and appeal it with my insurance company with no guarantee of reinbursement!!UPDATE: After appeal, my insurance company REIMBURSED for the claim!! I attempted to contact this office because the check was sent to them. They refused to answer my calls or return my calls after leaving messages. I received a check but the company STILL SHORTED ME over 30.00!!! Next step is better business bureau since the staff refuses to speak to me. Why should I be shorted any money when this was their mistake! I also have to contact the credit bureau to fix my good credit which this business tarnished falsely!!!! They also blocked me on facebook, Im sure thats because they dont want THEIR good name tarnished! Bad business practice!!!!
