Went for my first appointment the other day and a workup this past Friday and they are honestly so nice and helpful. All the staff members were professional and knowledgeable. They even gave me a gift bag full of prenatal vitamins and gift cards for baby things. So wonderful! They really make me feel like I can count on them for my checkups and make sure my baby is doing great. Cant wait for my next visit. Def recommend this place for everyone who is expecting. ❤

Went in to get an ultrasound and blood work done, my ultrasound was too blurry to even see my baby, they never called about the blood work and told me they needed to do “multiple tests” meaning I would have to come in for more so they can tell me if my baby has any abnormalities when it only takes 1 test. After I left they called nearly an hour later to ask for my weight. The people are nice but I feel as if they are not qualified to work in a place that deals with things that are as important as knowing if your unborn child is healthy. Definitely NOT coming back here ever again.

Love this office! Dr. Grant is very knowledgeable about endometriosis and is a great listener. She writes everything I say down and really makes me feel heard. The nurses and front desk staff are also all so friendly! It was a little tricky to get scheduled for my first appointment but so so worth it! Very happy I found this office.

They always remembered my name, were sweet to my children, and always made sure to answer all my questions when I wasnt sure what to do. Dr Grant is absolutely amazing. Worst wait times ever. Had an appointment scheduled for 11:45. Was called and told that there was a 10:15 available due to cancellations. Arrived to the 10:15 appointment only to be called back at 12:23. Patient care is important to me and I’m not sure if this clinic understands the importance of patient care. May be severely understaffed but that’s ok. Adjust appointments accordingly. Do better.

I was a patient at this clinic for about two years, the midwife Ms. Barnes delivered my first born (shes great). Its true what theyve said in other reviews, they do fall behind and you can wait for some time. Happened to me a lot but I just didnt complain about it. They hired a new front desk lady, and sometimes she has a attitude. These reasons, however, are not the ones I left for. I left their clinic because they made me feel really terrible about having a second child three months after my first born. I got it, they are really close, but its my business not yours. I have a stable life so we are happy to have another child. The lady who schedules appointments continued to tell me I would get on birth control even after I said I do not want to go on birth control. I told her I would rather tie my tubes and she goes on about how women regret that decision and always come back to have it reversed. To that I said, I would rather do that! Im actually very set on having two children anyways! To which she replied, well I dont think the doctor will do that for you.I was so upset!!! She isnt the doctor and I didnt need her advice. Thats a conversation I should have had with the doctor not the lady who schedules patients. I was mad, really mad.Called back to cancel my next appointment and called Highland instead. The lady was really nice and got me set up for my appointment. When I told her I was leaving this place the tone in her voice made it sound like that kind of thing happens a lot. Not going back.

Positive:-All support staff was amazing!! Front desk staff were warm, welcoming and friendly!-Nursing staff was also really enjoyable to interact with! Polite and warm to me!-Wait time to get into the room was really short, I was very surprised-Phlebotomist was also extremely personable. I told her I dont do well with blood draws and she was very kind and patient with me.- The facility itself is very nice, clean and put together.Negative:-Hours are terrible. Providers are not there on Fridays, they open around 9 and close around 5. If you work a normal job it is nearly impossible to find a time to come in.-I was supposed to go for an annual exam. There was a misunderstanding on their part and even though I tried to clarify it multiple times during the visit I still ended up without my annual exam.-The mid-wife has terrible bedside manner. She was nice enough, but I felt as though I was being judged and that she didnt believe me when I told her things about my health. My currently profession allows me to know quite a bit about health and provides a basic understanding of what is wrong. She didnt pay attention to any of my actual concerns, but instead stuck to her own agenda-In discussing options with the midwife I felt rushed. She answered my questions but was extremely short.-Never once did I see the actual doctor, nor did I even get the option of making an appointment with her.-I had a medication that was supposed to be sent to a pharmacy the day of my appointment. When I went to go pick it up, I was informed that it had never been called in and although the tech at the counter checked multiple other locations, it could not be found. Unfortunately for me, it was a Friday and they werent open so I had to wait an entire weekend. (Even though I left a voicemail, I never actually got a call back and had to call again). When I did call they insisted that it had been called in to the same location I went to.-I was not called when my test results came in and my online profile was never updated so I couldnt even check myself. In general, after having to switch from a gynecologist I had for multiple years to here I was not impressed. This is a great place to go if you need to get tested for something or maybe if you have a quick issue but for long term, personalized care I would not recommend.

I had a decent experience with Women’s Health Haven up until 31 weeks pregnancy. Occasionally I felt a little judged by the midwife at times because I felt like she was pushing me for an un medicated birth even though I hadn’t decided yet. She also pushed me to deliver at Cape Fear instead of Womack which I could understand because she works with Cape Fear as well. At 27 weeks I went in for my 3 hour glucose test and asked them if it was still necessary to have my 28 week appointment that was already scheduled for two days after the glucose test. They said no and cancelled it and I rescheduled one for the week after at 29-30 weeks and I attended that appointment. After that I had an appointment for today which is supposed to be my 32 weeks appointment. However I called and told them that something had come up and I needed to see if I could come in in the next couple of days instead of today due to a family emergency. I had also cancelled my appointment prior to calling them through their text message system. The lady instantly got an attitude with me and said that I had already missed one appointment (referring to the appointment rescheduled at 28 weeks) and that I was a liability to the practice and they could no longer see me. At almost 32 weeks pregnant they left me with no provider for my pregnancy and refused to schedule me another appointment and said it had been 30 days since my last appointment when in fact it had hardly been 2 weeks. The lady I spoke too implied that I was cancelling my appointment due to using drugs when I have NEVER had a history of drug use EVER let alone while pregnant and she made me cry after getting off the phone with her. I guess this is a blessing in disguise because now I can find a better provider whose staff doesn’t accuse their patience of drug use when they know nothing about them or their care.

If I could give it no stars I would. They dont care how you want your birth experience to go... They surprised induced me even though i made it perfectly clear that I wanted to have my baby without any involvement if everything was right, and it was. He was perfectly healthy and positioned right, and I was also dilating on my OWN and at a good pace. The next thing I know, theyre telling me that its been on my paperwork the entire time that I was being induced. I was never told that. As I stated multiple times I wanted no medical interference unless NEEDED. So after they pushed me for induction, their interferences caused me to stop dilating.... Which led to an emergency c section. A year and a half afterwards, I was bleeding spontaneously and very irregularly and they acted like they had no idea why. Dr grant was very rude to my sons father and basically told him he wasnt allowed to come back to the room with me, even though other men were going back with their girlfriends. She suggested that he hit me when he has NEVER put a hand on me... Shes careless about what actually matters but overly nosy about things that arent even her concern in the first place. She seems to look down on anyone who isnt married. Not to mention she seems money hungry. To the extreme. THIS OB/GYN caused my pregnancy complications and now because of an unneeded c-section in the past, Im having complications with the one Im pregnant with now, 2 years later and Ill never be able to have the birthing experience I wanted from the start. Any time I have children, its going to be a stressful time because of something that I didnt even condone from the start. This is the worst OB/GYN Ive ever seen, aside from Dr Ernesto Graham. I dont even know how this place is still functional! They should be sued for malpractice! Theres so much more but for now Im gonna end it here... It still bothers me to this day that i cant have the birthing experience I wanted because of an arrogant doctor or purposefully misinformed her patient to take the easy way out. Pathetic excuse for a doctor ...

04.29.2019Receptionist was rude. Didnt even acknowledge me when I walked up to sign in. Place was packed with my waiting time to be almost 2 hours!!My appointment was at 11:45. I had arrived 10 minutes prior to that. By the time they called me to the back to get my vitals, it was already 12:40 (55 minutes after I had signed in). Then I had to go back out to the waiting and wait because there was no available room. By1300 (01:00), they called me back into a room. By the time I was seen, it was 1320 (01:20 pm). Mind you, I wasnt even seen by Doctor Grant but by one of the midwives. I have questions and concerns regarding my pregnancy and Im going to have to wait until the next time I come in to talk to the doctor about it. Smh.I am almost 7 months pregnant and Ive only seen Doctor Grant ONCE!! Also, they didnt take my initial weight knowing I was a new patient so there was no way for me to track my pregnancy (weight wise) to see how Im doing. Smh.This will be the first and the last time I come to this office. These people probably think I have all the time in the world to just sit at the doctors all day. Smh.My thing is this: why would you schedule all these people if you know that you are only one doctor? Smh. How about spacing the appointments so that people wont have a long waiting time and everything can flow smoother? Smh.

Met Dr. Dorrette Grant for first time, had an instant acquaintance! Very concerning, realistic, magnificent personality, and incomparable. I also had procedure performed at the hospital which she was detailed(keep in mind Im super fearsome when it comes to pain)&thorough.Even though I made several trips back and forth, I was grateful of the assistance. I actually made a jokingly comment stating This my last trip, right? Futhermore, Thumbs up to her assistant, Phyllis. Over and above, I came in for my appointment incidentally on her work(OFF) day, however she examine me unexpectedly.Overall this office made me feel welcoming along with obtaining a splendid relationship with the Dr. Grant and the staff. My first visit here.I have seen an ob/gyn many times before, I am a mother of two children and am also a responsible female who cares for her health.I thought that the 2 women behind the counter were pleasant. The young African American female that did my vitals and intake was rude and had attitude in her tone when speaking with me. Thats never anything pleasant to deal with in a place that is supposed to be a professional establishment.I was seen by the NP, Dawn, who later on had another female come in (while I was unclothed from the waist down). It was abrupt and a surprise to me to find out that someone was standing behind a curtain and then present herself in person, not by words, but by presence and keep her head down . That was awkward while having a speculum inside of me. The NP was rough while examing me and I have never been touched in such a manner during a pap test. It has been 3 days now and I am still in pain. At the time, the NP not only made faces and questioned me about my responses to her questions, she also had a tone in her voice that showed disapproval about why I choose not to be on hormones. MY CHOICE. She also kept saying how she suspects what my diagnosis is... without having any results from labs, ultrasounds, SYMPTOMS... She was automatically diagnosing me for something that is common in African American women, WHICH I AM NOT. I had none of the symptoms and she had no results and is NOT A DR. Anyhow, I have been in discomfort for a few days now and I honestly cant believe that I just read a review stating that a women had a previous experience and ended up with an infection!I was online looking for a new Dr. because I not only have pain in the area she examined (which honestly, felt like I was molested. I have never had an exam where my labia was stroked a few times before entering and then...ughhh... its just awful to even think about! I cant shake this awful feeling! It grosses me out!) ...anyhow I now have a fever that started today and a lower back pain that is dull. This is NOT okay.Im currently looking for a new Dr. I prefer to no longer run into these rude and judgmental people. Its like they are stuck in the 20s with a lot more sass and back talk than they can afford to be giving. Thats how you lose clients. I dont mind strong values, hard work ethic, but narrow mindedness and big mouths arent welcoming or PROFESSIONAL.

I had been going to Dr. Grant for almost 3 years. My relationship with her from the beginning seemed a little awkward but I was pregnant and chose to overlook a couple of minor issues being I was pregnant and just leaving another Obgyn that had more issues that I had ever seen and have no clue till this day how they are even open, but that is another story. A lot of her staff was rude and I did not care for midwife from the beginning who was always rough with me, every opportunity she had she wanted to suggest I have a c-section even though I have had all natural births. She did not like that I would not go with her advice as she is not one who seems to appreciate the patient being involved in their own care and treatment plan. Nevertheless, I did not end up having to have a c-section neither time. I also had to let the Dr. know that I did not desire none of her staff to be in the room with me as one time I was being examined and they both looked at each other and laughed and continued to giggle almost the whole time I was being examined. Mind you nothing was wrong with me save I was pregnant, big and already not comfortable with the weight I had picked up during this particular pregnancy. I was angry as well as humiliated. After requesting that no staff enter into the room during my exams all seemed to settle down. After being faithful to this practice for 3 years.. paying all co-pays, never being late on a payment, paying all I owed everytime, I enter this practice one day after the doctor knowing I had been very sick.. I could pay everything but $50 of the cost and asked to be billed for the remaining amount. The receptionist went and asked Dr. Grant to approve it and she said NO?????? She did not care if I died, if I lived, what happened to me all over $50 after paying thousands of dollars to her over the course of years for various procrdures. I was so sick that day and had no choice but to go to the emergency room and they could not believe how she responded over $50. If you are ever short with her. I dont care how well you think you know her. How friendly you think she is. There is more to her than what many know. I later did research and found out she had not only received a lawsuit for attempting to do a c-section on a women who was not pregnant nor did they do an ultrasound on her to confirm pregnancy but there has also been a lot of legal issues especially regarding finances. After she turned me away for so little amount of money which could have cost me my life I had zero respect for Dr. Grant or the practice. I have not seen her since and I do not plan on seeing her at all. If her NA name is Phyllis ot Mrs. Brown.. I do not trust her at all and would be very leary of anything she wanted to do for me.. I read a review talking about inappropriate touching and the same happened to me while I was pregnant and during my labor. She was very rough with me in the labor and delivery room and I believe that she scratched my unborn babies head while she was breaking my water as the head was right there and the baby came out with a pretty significant scratch. If you can, go somewhere who values you and your family well being.

I had a hysterectomy on 1/8/16. They told me that I would have to pay $500.00, that is the 20% that I would owe. I paid this amount in case on 1/4/16. On 1/12/16 BCBS paid the entire bill as I had met my out of pocket max and my copay max. The office never informed me that I had over paid the bill. It was not until 5/17/16, that my insurance company explained that all the proceeds from that day were paid 100%. I called the doctor office and they told me that I needed to request a refund through them and that the biling company, Medical Billing Associates, has not sent the report for Dr Grant to issue the refund. I called MBA the same day and they informed me that their policy is that they will not refund money until I am not seen by the office for 3 months. I had to ask for a refund. So on 5/17/16 I requested a refund from both facilities. I waited for a week and called both back. I was told by the doctors office that they have to wait for the report and by MBA that it was sent on 5/20/16. On 6/1/16 I called the doctor office and they told me that Dr Grant is not there and that she is the only one that can approve the refund. she would be back on 6/6/16. I called MBA on 6/1/16 and they stated that the report had not been returned. I called on 6/6/16 to the dr office and I was told the refund is issued because my account shows a -0- balance, I called MBA and I was told that the refund lady was not in that they would call me back on 6/7/16. on 6/7/16, I called MBA after 2pm and I was told that the refund lady was not in and that they would have to call me back on 6/8/16, they are not sure who issues the check, the dr or them. That Dr Grant has not signed off on any refund since November 2015. the account shows a -0- balance because the report was sent to dr grant, not meaning the refund was issued. I called the dr office and told them that I would hold but someone needed to tell me when and who was issuing the check, I was told that she the office manager was the only person in the office and she had no answers for me. she said again that the acct is -0- meaning the check was issued and she told me to wait til the end of the week. I informed her that I called MBA and the acct was -0- because the report was sent and dr grant has not signed off on a report since 11/2015, she stated oh really and that she has not clue who issues the check and that I would have to wait until dr grant came back to work on 6/8/16. She called and asked for a paper packet to be mailed. She was told no, our medical records are all via the website, if you dont complete online you cant come. They then hung up when my mom said she doesnt have access to a computer. I called back and spoke to the office manager. Same thing. So, if you are not tech savy with a computer you cannot be seen. Makes me question what accommodations would be made for a blind patient. Overall, not rude but a very nonchalant attitude from the first person who answered and then again from the office manager.

By far, the worst experience with a doctors office Ive ever had. I was a patient since 2010. I never had an appointment be on time - Ive always waited AT LEAST 45 min past my appointment time. A few times (after waiting over an hour on my lunch break), I actually walked out of the office without being seen. In 2010, the staff was friendly and ok (still not on time) but now....OMG...rude! Ive always had problems with prescriptions with them (which is partially my insurances fault), but if my obgyn could write me a damn prescription for BC- which is not asking for the world - that would be helpful. Ive seen them turn people away at the door because they didnt fill some initial patient forms out online (not everyone has internet access). The last time I was here (April 2015), they did not help me at all. They printed out some prescription they wrote me in Jan 2014.....not Oct 2014 (which is most recent) which did not help me get the prescription I needed. Now.......Im on Google searching for another doctor. Please please please....save yourself the hassle and choose a different OBGYN

Review №56

Zero star , I had an appointment but I reschedule for an appointment two days later. I got calls from them confirming appointment . I called the day before just to recheck the time and they canceled my appointment without a heads up cause I didn’t turn in my new patients form which I never got. Cause it’s policy they still cancelled my appointment.
