Yesterday was my first visit to Southern Crescent Women’s Healthcare as well as my first visit since finding out I was pregnant. I was very pleased with my overall experience. Everyone was nice and professional and I didn’t have to wait a long time for anything. Meeting a new doctor always makes me a little nervous because I never want to get a doctor I don’t feel comfortable with. Dr Slade was very pleasant, professional, friendly, and just had a positive energy to her. She is an African American female doctor, which was what I requested. When she was finished with my exam and left the room, my immediate thought was “I like her”. I would definitely recommend Dr Slade just off of first impressions! Hopefully this continues!!!

Dr. Slade is very professional and extremely personable! She is easy to talk to and she explains everything you need to know so that you will leave with a clear understanding! I’ve been going to her for YEARS and I can not go to anyone else! I’ve referred all of my friends to her as well and they haven’t turned back either!!!!

I was satisfied with my visit as a new patient; however, I chose the office because of the reputation of particular physicians. I would liked to have been seen by the physician I actually made an appointment with.

Overall, the only complaint I have as a new patient was the extremely slow wait time for a pretty basic appointment.As a physician, though, Dr. Slade is wonderful! Her bedside manner is outstanding, and she seems to be concerned with what the patients have to say and values their input as far as a plan for treatment is concerned. It seems like nobody shares information with each other there. Every time I go it’s a different doctor or midwife and they don’t know anything about me. I have to tell them what happened at my last visit. Their favorite line is I didn’t check the charts, well you know as a doctor or midwife I had this appointment I wasn’t important enough for you to at least act like or look at my charts to know what’s going on with me. They ask me this same stupid question about this certain test that I’ve taking 20 plus years ago, that’s unnecessary for me to take again but they keep trying to send me knowing it’s no reason for me to go then act like I’m lying. I’m just over it. I’m not just blaming Dr. Slate cause I didn’t see her this visit it was a completely different doctor! I’m a high risk pregnancy and supposed to come once a week but to get a follow up appointment every week is a task. Then they want me to go to another office 30 minutes from my home to be seen. I’m 8 months pregnant and don’t know who will be delivering my baby. It’s like rolling dice. I choose a woman doctor but I get whoever they give me. I don’t want the whole office looking up my private areas! I’m so uncomfortable and angry but it’s to late to change doctor offices.I have a few more weeks till I have my baby and they will never see me again.
