I have received nothing but great care from Dr. Kohen, he is one of the most kind, compassionate doctors I have ever come in contact with. My impression of Dr. Kohen from the first time we met him after he’d performed shoulder surgery on our adult son was that he is highly intelligent, very caring and down to earth. You won’t meet a nicer doctor. After our son’s great experience, I switched from my previous orthopedic doctors to Dr. Kohen. I needed a total knee replacement, but first he had to repair a full tear in my rotator cuff which was causing more pain than the knee. That was done in 2019 and it couldn’t have gone better. My shoulder feels great now.I was set to do the knee in the spring of 2020, but the pandemic delayed that until this June (2021). I’d heard all kinds of stories about this surgery, good and bad, and it took me a couple of years to really be ready to do it, but I’m so glad I got it done. Dr. Kohen’s expertise is the primary reason my outcome has been so positive.Also, everything is spelled out in the pre-surgery information he gives the patient so there’s no guessing. He orders the post-surgery medications to be sent ahead of surgery to your home so there’s no stopping at the pharmacy after leaving the hospital, and he arranges for any needed home medical equipment to arrive before surgery. The whole process was very smooth.Another thing that must be mentioned is his office staff. I’ve never been to an office that is so well run. His staff, from his outstanding PA, Christy Parent, to Marissa, the pre-surgery contact, and everyone in between have been so nice and helpful. It’s easy to contact them with any questions, either by phone or text, and they respond promptly.So, the bottom line is, we love Dr. Kohen and we highly recommend him for all knee and shoulder issues. He’s a doctor you can trust. I know our family won’t go anywhere else.

My knee replacement was a positive experience. Dr. Koken explained the procedure and the steps for recovery. He kept close contact with me for the first couple weeks to ensure the recovery was on track. With his recommendation with Team Rehab and following the program, it is only three and a half months since the surgery and I have more mobility than I had before. I am pleased with the outcome and recommend it to anyone who is having difficulty. I thank Dr kohen and his team in helping me walk pain free again.

I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Kohen. He is kind and patient and answered all of my questions as I decided whether to have him surgically repair my torn meniscus or wait it out. He was genuine in his suggestions and advice and I appreciate that he was able to be real with me. Surgery went great and all of my follow up appointments went smoothly. Dr. Kohen does an incredible job. My shoulder injury was very complicated. Not only was his work great, but he put together a team to oversee all aspects of my I jury and recovery. AND HIS STAFF IS PHENOMENAL. All his team members do a great job.

Dr. Kohen did open biceps tenodesis on my right shoulder in October 2020. I am progressing very well with physical therapy, with 99% range of motion so far. Dr. Kohen is an excellent Surgeon; very caring & concerned for his patients. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Kohen was one of the most caring, capable and knowledgeable doctors I have ever experienced!From my first pre-op appointment to my last post op check up, he always displayed patience, concern and compassion which quite frankly became so important with a full knee replacement. He gave me realistic expectations for the timeline of recovery and was my cheerleader as I progressed thru the various stages of recovery! And the biggest bonus is that my stitches are perfectly straight and will eventually fade to barely noticeable! I can’t recommend him enough as his skill set and bedside manner are both super!

I started seeing Dr. Kohen about a year and a half ago when I was having trouble with my left knee. I had already had an intensive surgery on that knee with a cadaver ACL, meniscus repair and bone grafts, so I was really nervous. I got in right away to see him, and he has an MRI right in his office, so you get the results and meet with him directly after. I needed another meniscus repair, it was done outpatient and the surgery was quick. He did a great job! Both Dr. Kohen and his PA were informative, honest, respectful and supportive of my choice to skip physical therapy and go right for a scope. I’ve been a RN for 15 years, as well as a runner and a soccer player. Given the wear and tear I put on my knees, I ended up needing another scope this year. It was a little more extensive this time, but I was still treated with expert care. Although I can’t run or play soccer anymore, I know that my knees are in good hands when I need to come back for my total knee replacement 😂 Honestly, I would highly recommend him if you are in need!

Dr. Kohen is a wonderful doctor and makes you feel so comfortable and welcome in his office! He cares very much for his patients and takes his time with them. I had a great experience and would not want to go to any other ortho doctor! His staff are all very nice and caring as well.

Dr. Kohen performed ACL and Meniscus surgery on my knee. He and his staff were very helpful and addressed all my concerns. I am 3 months post op and able to ride my Peloton again. Make sure you follow the doctors recommendation and PT schedule. My procedure went well, I highly recommend Dr. Kohen!

Went to Dr. Singer for an issue I was having with my finger. He is so personable and an excellent doctor. Its going to take a while for my finger to heal, but no surgery. Seems like surgeons are often over eager to do surgery, however Dr. Singer said that would be a last resort. Its now healing nicely. Bottom line, hes a great doctor.

I suffered with shoulder pain for a long time, finally went to Dr Kohen & after examining my shoulder & doing a CT he advised surgery. I was really leary of surgery, especially now with Covid 19. He didnt pressure me, he answered all my questions & was very reassuring.Dr. Kohen performed surgery on my rotator cuff in September. He explained that physical therapy would be a necessity for my complete recovery. He fixed my shoulder I did the pt, and my shoulder functions perfectly without pain now.

From my first consultation through a total knee replacement, this practice has been par excellence. The staff, including Dr. Kohen, himself, has been friendly, helpful, accessible, and professional. As to the outcome, I could not have dreamed of such gains. My advice to someone who is considering a knee replacement: do it sooner rather than later, and have it done by Dr. Kohen.

After 3 knee surgeries so far in my life, I know that the words “pleasant” and “surgery” do not go hand in hand. But I just wanted you to know that dealing with Dr Kohen and his staff was by FAR the most pleasant experience I’ve EVER had!! From beginning to the end, every aspect of my my knee reconstruction “fractured upper and lower plateau, broken MCL, ACL, both meniscus torn” was seamless, and flawless. The equipment that was provided afterwards was state of the art, and he honestly did such a phenomenal job, that not one pain med was ever taken afterwards, which blows my mind, but it’s true!! I cannot recommend him highly enough!!!! I myself was referred to him, and I will be forever grateful and indebted to him!!! Thanks Dr. Kohen!!!!

Dr Kohen did a fabulous job providing me with a reverse left shoulder replacement. My upper left arm was shattered from my fall. Operation was virtually with out pain. Only needed some Tylenol and 2 painkillers that I broke in half to control the pain. Physical therapy was 12 weeks with occasional discomfort. Heat and ice did the trick. Range of motion is of course not the same as before but I would say back to 80% is very good. Driving and playing golf after 12 weeks.

I went to see Dr. Kohen to get my knee drained after my regular doctor told me there would be a 3-4 week wait for an appointment. Not only did he squeeze me in, but he took the time to review my previous MRIs and surgical history and provide a 2nd opinion on my course of treatment - including recommending some brand new treatment options that my other doctor didnt yet provide.

I went to see this doctor twice. I cancelled the third appointment. Extremely long waits in the waiting room, followed by very long waits in the examination room, and then you see the doctor for 5 minutes. Doctor takes no particular interest or concern in your medical condition, and it is very difficult to get any kind of information at all beyond a recommendation for treatment. Also very difficult to get an appointment, and the office is aesthetically very unprofessional looking. Only went here because another Beaumont doctor made the referral. My time and money would have been spent much better had I gone elsewhere.

Dr. Kohen is a kind, doctor with lots of patience. He adjusted his schedule to do my surgery 6 months ahead of the hospital scheduling. He understands and treats AVN which was such a relief after seeing 3 orthopaedics that didnt know how to treat my knee. I trust and believe in Dr. Kohen.

I love Dr. Kohen. He has been my doctor for almost 6 yrs. He did an excellent job with my knee surgery, helped with my tendinitis in my elbow and shoulder. When I break down, he knows how to fix it (lol)!!Great office location (Farmington) and the office and building staff are very friendly. You get temperature checked and Covid questioned before you can even enter the office. Come prepared because they take the necessary precautions to make sure everyone is safe.

No point in making an appointment when you just wait for over an hour in the waiting area anyways. Your time definitely does NOT matter.
