I cannot express how thankful I am to have found TLC! Its one week post-op and I am so happy with the results of my surgery. The staff was friendly, understanding and very accommodating. The woman at the front desk was awesome & so helpful. Julie, really made my experience at TLC smooth and comfortable. All of questions were answered and they did an amazing job at easing my nerves because I was terrified of this procedure. Post op appointment with doctor went well and she was also friendly, informative and professional. Everyone at this office was amazing and you can tell they do their jobs well. The office was clean and appealing the the eye. I felt safe during all my visits there. I am still so amazed at the results and so grateful TLC gave me the ability to SEE without corrective lenses. Thank you so much to all the staff !! If youre looking for a place to do Lasik, you have found the right one !

Great experience ! I wanted to have this procedure done for soooo long but was so nervous on something going wrong but from the minute I walked into this office I knew I was in the right place. The staff was very nice & welcoming and made me feel so comfortable, they put me at ease answered all my questions & made sure I was happy with every answer. The procedure went very quickly & I wasn’t nervous at all because of the staff they made sure I felt confident about everything & made sure that I knew I was in the right hands. If you are thinking about having this procedure deff come here !! They are GREAT !! I just had my procedure on 3/25/2021 & within just 4 days later my vision is great no issues ! I’m very happy I made the choice to come here. Thank you guys again !!

Booked an appointment for consultation over a month ago. Took the day off for work for it. 5days before my appointment they cancel my appointment for no reason. I call and ask why? They say we dont know there was an error and we are booked but we can reschedule you for another appointment in 2 months from now. WHY would I do that if you just canceled mine for no reason last minute!

From beginning to end, I was thrilled with my experience. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. From Winchelle at the front desk who helped ease the anxiety with her friendly demeanor, to Joe who did my consultation who was very honest, and explained and answered all of my questions, to Dr Stein who performed my procedure. Less than two weeks after my procedure I had LASIK performed and less than 24 hours later my vision is 20/20. The few hours of discomfort following the procedure are more than made up for by the ability to wake up and see! Absolutely could not recommend TLC more!

They did an exceptional work on my wife. Her eyes were so bad without her contacts and the day after her procedure she was seeing 20/20! She’s doing great and the surgery was only Tuesday. Dr. Donnenfeld was amazing! All of the staff were extremely helpful and supportive! Great choice for LASIK surgery, we would recommend them to anyone.

The experience start to finish was amazing. The staff are so nice and explained everything to me in detail but so I could still understand. The facility is so nice and you can tell the technology is state of the art. I am one day post procedure and my vision is PERFECT! My only regret is I didn’t do this sooner.

The staff were very friendly and did everything in their power to make sure I was comfortable leading up to the procedure, and after. I was very nervous and the two techs inside the procedure room and the surgeon were all helping me calm down. The procedure itself goes bye very quickly! So worth the few hours of comfort after for perfect vision.

I love to read reviews before buying or going somewhere. I’m so glad I didn’t go by one bad review over a specific doctor. I chose to go based on the great reviews. It was the best decision I made and turns out that my ophthalmologist recommends this place to all his patients. Completely professional, availability from the intake person and doctors with questions via email. The day off the surgery they make you feel comfortable. Every step is explained to you as you go. Compassionate in what they do and basically made the surgery so easy to go through. 20/20 the day after and no complications. I recommend this place to anyone. Thank you guys for making this experience so easy!!!

This is by far the best decision I have ever made. I am 1 day post op and I can see incredibly! My vision before was basically blind without contacts or glasses. All of the staff was amazing! Very friendly, calmed me because I was very nervous and explained everything to me so there were no surprises. The procedure itself was super fast. I am truly amazed at how well I can see! I would highly recommend this facility to anyone seeking Lasik surgery! I may just drive back out there and hug them all because that’s how awesome it is to see what I can see now. ❤️

Absolutely amazing experience. Everyone is so friendly. Surgery went great and had 2020 vision the next morning. They have it down to a science of exactly how long everything takes and the staff takes all the time to answer any questions. I slightly started to panic during the beginning of surgery and the staff handled it like pros. Stopped everything and gave me the time to calm down and relax. They definitely care about you here.

My husband had lasik surgery on 2/6/2020. He is so happy. He can’t believe the results. The staff were professional and kind. Very attentive, answered all questions, and made him(us) feel comfortable. His surgery was done by Dr. Stein. The office is clean, modern and have snacks and refreshments available.

The staff at TLC were impeccable. The explained everything that would be happening every step of the way and made me feel very comfortable and safe. The surgery it self took 10 minutes. The only time I felt even a little bit uncomfortable was during the flap flap portion of the surgery. I noticed a major improvement in my sight only 8 hours later and the following morning it was as if I was wearing glasses. Its like I am a new person and I owe that feeling to TLC and the services they provide.

I called two weeks ago to get a consult for Lasik - they were able to see me that afternoon. I went in; everyone was super friendly, the atmosphere was nice and calm - they gave me the eye exam and I was a candidate for Lasik. I met with the scheduler to discuss the fee and timing. I was scheduled for the end of the following week! I couldnt believe how quick everything was moving, it was great. I had my surgery last week - everyone was extremely friendly they literally held my hand during surgery because I was so scared. The procedure is quick and then you are on your way home. I had some follow up questions, I emailed them, they got back to me within just a couple business hours. This place is quick, efficient, and mostly everyone is very caring.

The team at TLC is very professional and friendly.The facility is clean and up to date.The team is flexible and very transparent when discussing your eye needs. Through out the process for Lasik, I had several questions regrading the procedure, post ops, and scheduling, and I always received a very timely response. Great staff and wonderful doctors and surgeons. I made a consultation appointment and within two weeks had my procedure. Office is beautiful and clean. Procedure was thoroughly explained as well as pre-op and post-op care. I’m currently healing from PRK and have a while until my vision stabilizes but if you’re thinking about corrective eye surgery, I highly recommend going in for a consultation to see if you’re a candidate.

The Lasik team is top notch from beginning to end. They explained everything throughout the process very clearly and listened to my concerns. I have been considering lasik for over 10 years. Im one week out from my Lasik surgery and have only good things to say about TLC. The staff was all very knowledgeable and friendly, and Dr. Donnenfeld is at the top of his field. The facility itself is clean, modern, and comfortable with some nice amenities for caregivers who will have to wait 2-3 hours during the procedure itself.If I had to offer one piece of constructive criticism, it was that I received a bit of a sell during my consultation. This was my first-ever elective procedure, so I dont know if thats common in this industry as opposed to its absence in the preventive or necessary medical fields. It was just a new experience for me (and, really, I didnt need that much convincing).

I wanted Lasik for so long but was nervous to go through with it... So happy that I did! Great experience at TLC. I am in my 30s, near-sighted enough that I could not function whatsoever without contacts or glasses. Woke up the day after Lasik feeling perfectly fine and with amazingly clear vision. It’s been 3 days and still so excited. Truly life-changing and I am so happy that I decided to go for it, wish I had sooner!

Its been over a week since my LASIK surgery and Im so thrilled that I did it! Ive worn glasses for 22 years and contact lenses for 15 years. Ive never felt so free since LASIK! The day after my surgery, my vision was 20/25 and is still there a week later, but I am still healing. One of the best decisions Ive ever made! Everything from the free consultation to the follow-up appointments was great. Everyone from the front desk, the surgical consultant, the surgeon, the pre-op and post-op doc, the surgical techs, and everyone else in between was extremely friendly, helpful and professional. I did a lot of research when looking for a place to get LASIK, and this place was an easy pick. I could see better the moment I sat up after the procedure, and less than 24 hours later I was able to drive myself to my first post-op and could read 20/15 with both eyes! Ive had glasses since 3rd grade and contacts since high school, and have wanted LASIK for years. My only regret is that it took me so long to save up and take the plunge. Id highly recommend LASIK to anyone considering it, and Id absolutely refer them to TLC! Thank you for giving me the amazing gift of sight!

TLC provided a great experience for my Lasik procedure. I expressed my interest in having Lasik done to my optometrist and he recommended TLC Fairfield for its highly accomplished doctors. The staff was very kind, considerate, patient, and well organized. Prior to my optometrists referral to TLC I tried having a Lasik procedure with another company and on the day of my scheduled surgery they were unable to complete the procedure. I should have come to TLC first.Dr. Stein is an excellent, skilled doctor and the entire staff handled things with my well-being in mind. I did not feel pressured and during the procedure I felt so cared for, they talked to me while waiting to ease the worries, told me what was happening during the procedure, and I was able to hold one of the staff member’s hands while I was in the chair. Deciding to have Lasik at TLC has been one of the best decisions I’ve made, I would highly recommend them.

TLC is a fantastic place to get your lasik done. I heard before i went there that being a large company they might not care about the individual as much but that is definitely not true. They were very personable and relaxed but also knew exactly what they were doing. There were absolutely no suprises with the procedure and it went quickly and easily. I had an awesome experience with TLC, from setting up the initial consultation all the way through the procedure!Scheduling consultation: I noticed there was a feature online that allowed me to schedule a consultation through the website which I found to be helpful. Picked a time and date, and was all set. Unfortunately received a call from TLC shortly after saying that day was not available so they helped me find a different one that worked. I had a few questions that the call center couldnt help me with, so they were able to transfer me directly to the center I would be going to. I believe I spoke to Jennifer on the phone, and she was AWESOME. Very informative and thorough to make sure i knew what to expect for the consultation. She gave me the centers number so I could call them directly if I had any additional questions.Consultation: The office was not hard to find, parking was okay but thats completely out of their control. The staff is incredibly friendly. The office itself was very clean, bright, and welcoming. They also have Fixer Upper playing on all of the TVs so thats a major win for me. After I filled out initial paperwork, I was brought to the back to have scans taken of my eyes. I met with the tech, John, who is so funny! It was nice talking to everyone while they got the information they needed for my eyes. After all of the scans and learning that I was a good candidate for LASIK, I met with Julie (i think) who went over all of the technical details like scheduling a procedure date, financing, and a brief overview of post-op care.I had my pre-op appointment with my regular eye doctor about two weeks later (roughly 6 weeks before the procedure) and everything was all set.Procedure: Due to a scheduling issue, my procedure was moved up a week earlier than expected! But TLC was so accommodating to the time wanted to come in and made it work perfectly. The morning of, I went in, signed the paperwork, took some last eye scans, took the Valium they gave me, and watched Fixer Upper for 15 minutes while I waited for it to kick in. The staff checked in on me to make sure i was good, and then they prepped me to go into the surgical suite! Music was playing which helped me kind of time the whole procedure. I think we got through one song, and barely finished the second when they said it as all done. Like simple as that. What I loved was that nothing they did was unexpected. They told me when they were putting drops in, when I would feel a lot of pressure on an eye, when I wouldnt be able to see out of an eye for a minute, and when I would smell the burning scent. I had been warned about that part, and one of the staff was really helpful by counting down from 10 so that I knew when the smell would go away.After procedure: they looked at my eyes through the microscope one last time to make sure everything was good, put my first round of eye drops in, put the eye shields on me, and had me rest for about 20 minutes before telling me I was good to go.I truly couldnt have had a better experience, and am so glad I chose TLC for my LASIK!

08/2020 *******Update******While I still believe Dr. Ahn could have been more professional. With that in mind I received a call in regards to my conflict, not long after my initial review. Point being, the staff at the Fairfield CT office - including Dr. Ahn; they do care about their patients. TLC did a great job overall. Over a year later and my eye site is great. My eyes still tend to get dry, and theyre still a little sensitive to rubbing and pool water. But thats a given. And its nothing exhausting or overwhelming to take care of. A few eye drops and some rest for my eyes having me feeling just fine and back to normal. From my experience, TLCs work and the results thereof were and are undeniably wonderful. My eye doctor(s) says my vision is better than 20/20, seeing as my astigmatisms are gone. TLC is definite one of the better places to get the Lasik procedure done. Also, if affordability is an issue, TLC will work with you on different payment options. For me, Care Credit was a good way to go. It might be for others as well. Especially if you lack the funds to pay it all of costs upfront.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------06/2019The procedure was good. No complications, from what I could tell. However, their patient care is horrible; particularly that of Doctor Ahn.From my experience, she is quite impersonal.Youre in the business of helping people. Act like you care. Hanging up on me in the middle of my questions... Unprofessional. These are my eyes were talking about. Not a cut; or scrape; or a mild headache. Show some consideration for the fact I just had surgery and some of the aftermath is alarming. Even if there is nothing wrong, and the symptoms Im enduring are normal; I dont know that. Thats why I called to ask about them. My point is TLC seemed like a great place to go and get the procedure done. Nevertheless, the doctor whose care I was placed in, shes not someone I would have placed my trust in, had I known she would be so standoffish toward my post procedure concerns and discomfort.

Dr. Stein and the entire staff were professional, friendly, and had great chemistry together. If you are serious about LASIK this is the please to go. Thank you TLC!

Overall, I am very pleased with my experience at TLC Laser Eye Center of Fairfield. The staff has been very kind and nothing but accommodating during my appointments. I just had LASIK done 4 days ago, and Im already amazed with the results! I was very nervous and the staff did everything to calm my fears pre-procedure. And now, my vision continues to improve each day. I was given attentive, individualized care pre-procedure and given appropriate expectations post-procedure as well. The follow-up care schedule is carefully planned so that your eyes continue to be well taken care of. I would definitely recommend TLC Laser Eye Center of Fairfield to others.

I scheduled an appt for 11/9/18 for free consult. On Monday the week of appt I called to ask a question--and left a message. Never got a call back, despite calling each day during the week, including pressing 1 for medical emergency and speaking with answering service; still no call back. Needless to say, I canceled my appt and will not be going for any service at TLC. Terrible customer service. I shudder to think what would happen with a real medical emergency.

Run away from this place as fast as you can! They dont care about you as a patient. It is simply a Lasik mill. My vision was evaluated my an optometrist (not an MD) before the procedure. I carefully explained to him that I wanted mono vision Lasik because Id been wearing mono vision contact lenses for years. Mono vision allows a middle aged person to see distance but not have the need for reading glasses. I told him that I wanted my dominant eye corrected to 20/20 and my nondominant eye only slightly corrected. He kept saying, So we are going to slightly under correct your left eye. I said, NO, you are going to slightly correct it. I had the procedure. To my shock and horror, both eyes were corrected to 20/20. The optometrist was truly arrogant. When I confronted him about the error, he showed me where he had written modified mono in 3 different places. My reply was, You wrote that; it is not was I requested. He continued, See, it says modified mono. Again, I stated that was not my request. Finally, after I got really angry, the arrogant optometrist (remember, not an MD) got frustrated and said, If I had done what you had asked you would have been dizzy and vomiting all the time. Not true. Id been wearing contacts with this type of correction for years. They dont listen to you here. They dont care about you, only about your $$$. Although the procedure is done my a medical doctor, the initial evaluation is done by an optometrist. As a health care professional myself, I will say this about optometrists: If they had any brains they would have gone to medical school. This particular guy was arrogant, aside from being an idiot. TLC sucks.

Since the other two reviews are pretty negative, Ill share my experience.Overall, very professional and experienced workers. You sign up for a free consultation, they check if you are a candidate (you need to have enough corneal tissue in your eyes, etc. etc.). If you are a candidate, you talk pricing options. As of 9/15/16, they are pretty strict on their rate, 5720 I think. I did some searching for coupons and discounts and brought it down to a reasonable price for myself.If you choose to do it, you go contact-less for about one week, do a dilation with your personal eye-care doctor, if all looks good you go back to TLC after a week (no contacts again) for the procedure. They do them on Thursdays only, I did mine at 2:00PM, and was there until about 4:00PM.When you get there, you fill out some paperwork, finalize your payment method, then do some scans. The doctors will check up on you before the procedure. After they check you, they put booties and a hat on you, take you into the laser room, and begin.They give you numbing drops for your eyes so it is painless. You lie down on a table, they sit you back, and they use some type of mechanism you hold your eyeball steady while a laser cuts the corneal flap for your eye. Although it is painless, it is still a bit uncomfortable, and it is recommended you take a Valium beforehand if you feel anxious; I did.After they cut the flaps, you slide you over to the laser lights. While the eyes are numb and the flaps are open, you stare into light for 15-20 seconds per eye. This is the corrective part, where the laser literally chemically separates your corneal tissue and reshapes your eye. Not going to lie, it smelt pretty bad, but was painless.Once both lights are down, they put the flaps back on, I think do some type of sealant to make sure they are good, bring you into another post-op room to examine the eyes, have you wait 15 minutes with your eyes closed, then youre all set.Obviously you need a driver, as they give you eye shields so wear to protect your eyes. Once you get home, the worst part starts. For about 4-6 hours, your eyes will be very watery, burning, and itchy. DO NOT TOUCH THEM. It is recommended you sleep; I tried, but was unable to so I rested for several hours with my eyes closed.The next day (12 hours after) you are good to go, for the most part. Make sure you follow all the post op directions (medicine drops, doctor visits, etc.) and youll be fine.I went from a +4.00 prescription in both eyes to 20/15 vision. I spent a bit of money, but in the long run it is worth it. Plus, I am no longer bound by glasses or contacts, at least until I need reading glasses.As for the people calling it a lasik mill, dont believe them. Most people there did the procedure, except a few who were not candidates (one of the doctors herself was unable to do it). They wont force anything on you, and the consultation is entirely free. Specifically I worked with Amanda, Diana, Jenn, Dr. Love, and Dr. Stein. They are working people who are very friendly, and more importantly, they know what they are doing.One last thing I would say is this:Dont go for a free consultation because its free. Only go if you are seriously considering Lasik. Its pricey, but worth it. If you cant handle a $6000 commitment (at least), or two years of $200ish monthly payments, wait until you can.
