I ruptured my Achilles back in May of 2021 and Dr. Novak as been amazing every step of the way felt heard and support. As a black women I have had some horrible experiences with white doctors but he never questioned my pain levels and you are never waiting in his office forever

Everyone their was very nice. He listened to what all my concerns were.he checked out my knee .he wanted me to see who would best be able to fix my knee .so I will be seeing Dr. Perterson when I go back. I am just glad I found someone to listen and care that their is curiously something wrong with my knee implant. I just wish I would of went thier first for my operation. Buy I believe I am in good hands now.

I saw Dr. Novak because of my hurting knee trying to decide whether I should go for knee replacement. He listened carefully to my concerns and answered every question I had in a satisfactory manner. I did not feel rushed or pressured to decide one way or another. I highly recommend him.

I have shoulder pain for over ten years. I have tried physical therapy and Voltaren and nothing has worked. My chiropractor recommended to see him. He reviewed my MRI & X-Ray and took the time to explain clearly what has happened to my shoulders. He told me using external Voltaren will not work for me. Because a lot of my pains are from inside due to arthritis. And I should take Advil or something instead. That explains why I have tried all kinds of external creams and none of them works. And no other specialist has told me that before.

Dr. Novak took his time and answered all of my questions in detail. I never felt like I was rushed. I will always wait to be seen by him. Thank you!

Dr. Novak has performed two surgeries on my left shoulder and both surgeries have been very successful. He briefed me on the benefits and side effects of both surgeries.He has always been professional and answers all my questions. He is down to earth and listens to your concerns. I was Referred to Dr Novak by my Aunt who had a different experience with him. Dr Novak is a good surgent but he is always overbooked and understaffed. Waited 45-55 min everytime past my appointment time. Surgery went well and all but in all my visits to him i saw him of a total of 10 min in 2 visits. Some people thought i was crazy to do the surgery with him after only 10 min of contact with him. If you meed a lot of explanation and clarification it is not him, at least this is my experience.

Dr Novack provided excellent service. He ordered tests to diagnose my knee problem and explained the results to my. Only regret is that he was not referred to me earlier and I would be closer to recovery.

Doesn’t get any better. A great Dr. and a great team.

Dr. Novak is awesome! I was there two years ago and he performed surgery on my left shoulder. I had a great recovery. Recently I have had some more issues with my shoulder again and even after 2 years he was emphatic to my new problems, developed a plan with me to get back to working out and never blinked an eye. He is very personable, knows his stuff and doesn’t give up on helping an active person continue their active lifestyle.

Dr.David Novak is a great Orthopedist at FairOaks OrthoVirginia.He took the time to explain to me about my shoulder problem and ordered the necessary X-ray and MRI to see what was actually going on before the initial treatment. And just resent I also had a knee injury which he also ordered X-ray and an MRI and showed all I needed was a brace, at home knee and leg exercises. I would highly recommend him to anyone. I did years of research and interviews of doctor’s and their practices looking for the best doctor/facility for my knee replacements. I finally decided on Dr. Novak and had my first knee replacement in July. I’m so happy with Dr Novak and the entire staff at Ortho VA. They made me feel confident in my decision and they are all very caring and professional. Dr Novak and his P/A, Jaime are a great team! I never felt like I was just “another knee replacement” as I did with other ortho groups. I felt like they were personally connected with me and my case from the beginning. I get to have the other knee done and will definitely return to this team for the surgery!

Dr. Novak is OUTSTANDING! He has done a full replacement on both of my knees, and a total reverse shoulder replacement. He has successfully operated on several of my coworkers as well. My mobility is wonderful and scars are minimal. He is knowledgeable, thorough, and spends time to explain everything in terms I can comprehend. Jamie Fano, his PA, is fantastic!! Never had a problem getting an appointment in a timely fashion with a very short check in and wait time. I feel so blessed to have him for my physician.

He also specializes in sports medicine and understands what needs to be done for sports related injuries, and how to improve conditions for athletes.I’ve had an arthroscopic torn meniscus procedure on my knee done by Dr. Novak, and an office visit due to another knee pain, and the results for both were excellent.

I’ve seen Dr Novak for two separate issues. Once last year that required surgery, and once this year that thankfully did not. In both instances Dr. Novak’s bedside manner was extremely pleasant and professional and helped to put me at ease.He takes the time to thoroughly understand patient’s concerns and is more than happy to answer questions so you have a full understanding of what it is you’re looking at, options, treatments, etc. You may go into the appointment a bit nervous of course, but you come out confident that you are being taken care of and are in good hands.The office Staff is friendly and professional and efficient, in the overall environment as welcoming. Dr Novak has treated my two kids who had various sports injuries over the years and done a fantastic job. Shoulders, arms, knees and feet he can do it all. He also repaired my ruptured patellar tendon which healed just as he had described. He even made a house call when I was in severe pain following the surgery to make sure I was OK. Dr Novak always makes time for appointments and does not make you wait. I could go on but the point is he is a fantastic Orthopedic doctor who I have trusted with my whole family for years. Dr. Novak did a partial knee cap replacement after two other doctors wanted me to do a total knee replacement. Its been 7 years and my knee still feels great. No problems or pain.

Dr. Novak has treated me well, is very professional, and interested in providing the best care possible.He performed a total-reverse-right-shoulder replacement on me. After a year, my range of motion (ROM) has increased significantly. The strength still needs to be built-up. This type of procedure does impose limitations on your post-op ROM, which Dr. Novak discussed with me during the pre-surgical consultation.The post-op visits with him or his Physician Assistant (PA) are not long ... basically covering only the most critical issues, and limiting your questions.I believe that these time-issues are not necessarily due to the doctor not wanting to listen to you, but are due to constraints imposed on the doctor by the insurance companies who are expecting the doctor to see more patients within a specified time period, so that they can make money.My reason for a rating of 4/5 instead of 5/5, is due to the insurance companies imposing these restrictions on the doctor. This is not good.Based on the doctor’s performance only, my rating would be 5/5.

Went to Dr. Novak for elbow pain. I was examined and given a cortisone injection. My elbow feels fine today. Dr. Novak was prompt and friendly as a busy doctor can be.

Dr Novak crippled me. What started as partial knee replacement that went well at first. Ended up with a piece of cement left floating around in my knee from the surgery. Had surgery performed by dr lane from ortho va one year later. He had to open my knee up AGAIN to remove a piece that was as big as the tip of your pinky to the first joint quite large to have been missed. AGAIN one year later intense pain and swelling. Dr lane worried about infection. Full blown surgery opening the knee up totally again. No infection found. Five months later AGAIN intense pain and swelling. This time an infection was found. Had to have all the parts removed from the original surgery performed by Novak due to infection. Now for two months I dont have a knee while on antibiotics for infection. If all gos well Ill get a total knee replacement.So since the original surgery by Novak when he left the excess cement in my knee Ive had three surgeries with at least one more to go. Bottom line if the surgery was correct the first time all following surgeries would not have been necessary. Find another surgeon. This guy is a hack
