My experience at Virginian Rehabilitation and Therapy was outstanding. I’ve been through Physical Therapy several times and the therapists were excellent. They explained the need for each exercise thoroughly, helped me perfect technique, demonstrated enthusiasm, and improved my situation dramatically. I highly recommend them! Sincere thanks to Shirlea and Teresa!!

I highly recommend Virginia rehabilitation and wellness for speech therapy. Victoria is an incredible caring and compassionate speech and language therapist. Her work with adult voice (rate, inflection, loudness) has been so helpful for my husband. She provides incredible feedback and strategies to assist throughout daily activities using a good strong voice. Highly recommended the facility and Victoria.

My husband has Parkinson’s disease for last 21 years and had worked with different therapists. This is the first time he took the 8 weeks LSVT program in this facility which has been making the biggest improvements on his movement and speech ability. We are so grateful for all the therapists that includes Physical, Occupational and speech therapist who have shown they do care. I would highly recommend this facility.

I came to VAOP therapy for a review of my Parkinsons Disease. My first experience with the Big and Loud program was four years ago. So this was a refresher. I was initially impressed with the thoroughness of the evaluation I received. Every therapist I met with during the course of my eight week program was knowledgeable and thoughtful. Kelly is an excellent task master They welcomed my questions and input.I feel fortunate to have such an excellent facility available to me.

This review is for Victoria Pavelko, the speech therapist at outpatient Virginia Rehabilitation. I have suffered from muscle tension dysphonia for years, which makes speaking and communicating cause pain in my voice. Victoria is the best therapist I have ever worked with. She knows everything about my condition and has given me so many strategies, exercises and lifestyle changes to help. She is very patient and encouraging. My insurance will not cover the treatment, but she is worth me paying out-of-pocket, because she is caring, knowledgeable and a great therapist. I feel blessed to have found her and am so thankful for her and the excellent speech therapy that she is providing. I would highly recommend her to anyone with speech or voice issues.

I could not speak more highly of Victoria Pavelko. I reached out to her asking about speech therapy options for a parent and she was unbelievable. She tailored the sessions to exactly his comfort level and really empowered him and taught him helpful exercises. I highly recommend Victoria if you are looking for speech therapy!

Compassion is a verb.----Thich Nhat HanhI have just completed a third round of physical therapy with Virginian Rehabilitation and Wellness, Inc., to help me stay ahead of a Parkinsons Disease (PD) diagnosis. I must confess that I really enjoy those PT sessions. The reasons are many. The therapy helps mitigate the effects of my illness. It also affords me a sense of control over the course of the disease. Being able to do something about the PD makes a difference. However, the patient, pleasant, skillful, and compassionate staff at Virginian Rehabilitation and Wellness are the most important element of that practice. They care--and it shows. If certain personality types are drawn to certain professions, then I must conclude that people who just like other people are drawn to physical therapy. I believe that attitude is everything. In my opinion, the staff at VR&W have broken the code on getting attitude right!

If you ever need a speech pathologist look no further. Victoria Pavelko is EXCELLENT at what she does and is a wonderful person. For some reason I completely lost my voice for weeks and it was not improving. My ENT doctor recommended that I see a speech pathologist. I chose Victoria Pavelko mainly based on her other great reviews which turned out to be very accurate. I am now speaking and I learned so much from Vic. The entire staff at Virginian Rehabilitation was great as far as my visits, scheduling, etc.

My experience with this facility has been exceptional. My son was born extremely premature at 23 weeks and needed assistance immediately. Everyone was extremely kind, welcoming and patient as I experienced an adjustment to the many chronic needs he had at birth. Most importantly, his therapist Victoria was incredible. Her speech diagnosis included compassion and care, and we are forever grateful as my son continues to experience improvements 4 years later because of this great foundation.

Victoria Pavelko, Speech Therapist, was very helpful, knowledgeable, and always cheerful in addressing my speech diagnosis. Her explanations were clear and concise. She added homework assignments that complemented her office exercises. And she gave recommendations that will address my diagnosis in the long term without office visits. I highly recommend Victoria. This place is the best. The therapists are one of a kind and the atmosphere is extremely inviting. Virginian Rehabilitation And Wellness has such innovative technology with a range of therapies offered. If you need therapy this is the place to go. I came in for balance therapy and could probably walk on a tight rope right now because my vestibular function is so great.

There are no words to express how thankful I am towards the speech therapist Victoria who treated my mom as an outpatient for swallowing due to an old stroke. She had exceeded our expectations 100%!! She developed an exercise program to strengthen my mom’s swallow function and helped to modify her favorite food items so that she can eat them safely. This was so meaningful to her because she had lost weight from not eating due to her fears of choking. Victoria gave her the confidence that she needs and is now close to her baseline weight. The front office staff members at the Virginian were also very professional and patient in answering my questions without a doubt. Victoria was also amazing with how she made sessions very comfortable and positive and her enthusiasm and brightness always lightened the mood. I highly recommend Victoria as she is knowledgeable, professional, compassionate, and always goes above and beyond.

I went to Virginian Rehabilitation Center for pelvic floor physical therapy. At first I was very concerned as I was the only ‘young’ person waiting and it was in an assisted living center. I was beyond impressed with their professionalism. My therapist, Shirlea, was extremely knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable considering the intimate nature of the therapy.

I am a physician for over 40 yrs and work as an attendee physician for the Care of The Elderly in Nottingham, England and write this review from that perspective. Following a post operative complication, I was fortunately intruduced to Virginian Rehabilitaton Center. This inviting small unit had some highly skilled and dedicated team of physical therapists and occupational therapists working with patients on one to one basis. With intense therapy, I eventually returned to England, which was doubtful at one stage, to work with elderly patients this time some with COVID. Although I work with a multi-disceplinary teams involving PT/OT, social workers, pharmacists and others, I am deeply impressed by the leadership of Cathy Renkiewicz(The Director) and highly committed physical therapists and Occupational therapists. The recent introduction of an innovative device NeuBie that is used for nerve stimulation is highly useful tool to help me with the nerve damage problems. For me the ambience and friendly atmosphere is almost addictive and has given me a chance to learn a thing of two about their descipline that I can use with my patients in England. I would thank profusely the front end staff who always help me with my appointments with a smile.I had the chance to visit some other units as well but I would not change this to any place else for all the Tea in China. Reverting from physician to a role of a patient, I remain grateful for everybody efforts with my ongoing recovery.

I suffered a toxic brain injury on March 17, 2020. After three weeks in the hospital, I was discharged with instructions for follow up therapy for speech and cognition therapy. My wife came across Victoria Pavelko in the materials given to us by hospital. Right away we could tell that Victoria Pavelko was someone we wanted to work with. Vick, as we came to know her, is committed to superior patient care. She is smart, intuitive, focused, and operates from an “all in” perspective. She quickly became very helpful to me in my search for cognitive recovery. Vick is very good at defining the relevant issues that needed to be addressed for me to recover from my brain injury. She patiently worked with me for several months, helping me to learn how to speak more clearly and she provided guidance on how I could learn how to think more clearly. Vick is always upbeat and cheerful, and always had another idea at the ready should I be casting about for an additional solution to my health challenge. Victoria Pavelko is a consummate professional who is dedicated to finding the best overall solution for her patients. I, without reservation, would recommend her to anyone who is searching for technical and effective clinical help stemming from any type of brain injury or a stroke.

I was referred to Virginian Rehab for lymphedema in both of my legs. At all times the entire staff had been congenial and respectful towards me.My 2 very knowledgeable therapists, Shirlea and Heidi were exemplary. Both took time to explain, educate and teach me post therapy wellness regarding my lymphedema. Their TLC while gently massaging my legs to move the underlying fluid upward is to be highlighted. It is essential that I continue with my exercise regime and wearing my compression products to maintain what we all worked so hard to accomplish. At the end of my last appointment with Shirlea I wept with gratitude for all that had been done for me to attain my physical transformation.

I have been a regular at this place since late summer. I am being treated for a lower back injury that includes bulging of L4/L5. I walked into this place to avoid back surgery. The therapists at this location are awesome and have been helping me regain strength and flexibility in lower back with the help of stretches and a machine called Neubie. Neubie has done wonders. During my therapy sessions i perform my exercises and streches while i am hooked to Neubie. Neubie helps with taking your streches deeper and deeper while the therapist is controling the intensity of the electrical stimulations. This machine is on a different level than its predecessor which most theraphy places still use. I am very happy with my progress. When i walked into this place for my first session, i could barely bend my back. At this time, i am happy to report that i can touch the ground with my palms while keeping my knees straight and bending forward. Xoxo
