Worst experience with a doctors office I’ve ever had. I’m fully aware I need to lose some weight but I’ve never had any back issues prior to this. I had an accident 4 months ago and I’m dealing with a lot of lower back and hip pain. Dr Harries basically told me I need to lose weight and because I have hypothyroidism there’s nothing they can do besides have me lose weight. I have a compression fracture on t12 and a bulged disk between l4 and l5. He tried to send me for an MRI of my brain for a “pituitary gland tumor” because I have hypothyroidism and a sleep study. I don’t sleep well because of pain, not because I have sleep apnea. Absolutely a waste of my time. I will never go back. AVOID AVOID AVOID if you don’t want to leave in tears.

Worst experience with a doctor by far. He only recommended neck infections for a vertebrae being moved out and slightly twisted. My insurance wouldnt approve them because they said it is not medically necessary. Doctor Sridhar Bhaskara, MD told me there are no other options and to come back when I have a better job with insurance or when I get better insurance that will approve them. Saying all this without even telling me how much said injections are or asking if I could even afford them. Very degrading. This place is a joke!

Very serious Drs who are all for finding more natural ways to control chronic pain without pushing pills! If you are willing to try new things this is one of the best

DO NOT SEE Dr. HARRIES. He is a poor excuse of a physician. He told my 55 year old mother she is too young to be in pain. Then he started a plan to take her off her medication WITHOUT her knowledge!! He has no empathy and just wants the money!! He had no issue giving shots in the back. Yet he has issues on communication and care.

I would suggest that if you were made an appointment here by a doctor referring you, that you will want to tell that referring doctor to send you somewhere else!!This place is full of quacks who have no sympathy for pain patients! The joke of acupuncture would have helped more than this.

Sridhar Bhaskara completely ignored my problems and suggested arthritis cream and extended activity when I can barely stand. Also very unprofessional, absolute quack of a doctor

Dr Harries has been treating my husband for awhile now. We find him to be very knowledgeable, and yes very serious. He has absolutely done everything that he knows to help my husband. He has been kind to us. I do not agree with the clinic not prescribing pain meds, because they do. and yes they test and keep up with your meds. They have all been so nice and accommodating to us. The pain clinic where we live is a pill mill. We wanted help, not more pills to get addicted to. We came to deaconess and glad we did. Treating chronic pain is so hard to figure out and Dr Harries has tried so hard with my husband. Yes, some Doctors do not have great bedside manners, but the level of care is what we’re looking for.

This is an update. I called to make an appointment to see Doc Frank only to be told he is no longer with West Side pain Clinic. I want to say this man is a Jewel in the desert of Doctors that think patients are just numbers. He always took the time to help me and my spouse in any needs we had. I have had such a improvement in my life since I started seeing him some SIX years ago. They will not say what happened to him, to me that implies it was not his choice. He will be missed at the West Side. Love ya Doc :(As a side note Frank is still in Evansville.

DO NOT GO HERE - Please if you are reading this and are a chronic pain patient - RUN!!! Dr. McDonnell has left and went to Vitality Pain Clinic. The new doctor, Dr. Harries, is as bad as people are talking about and writing. This guy prescribes NO OPIOIDS and tells you that your pain is in your head due to some psychological issue as a child, your weight, or anything else he can come up with. He does not have any empathy or care.

Worst experience of my life. No way will I let someone who cant control their eye movements put needles in my spine! He plays nice until you disagree with him. I would not take my dog here!!

I absolutely love Dr McDonell & staff. They do ALL they can to help. Dr McDonell even made time to see my dad ASAP who had stage 4 cancer and had been waiting MONTHS to see a pain- management doctor. My dad passed, but Dr McDonell gave him more pain relief than he had in YEARS. Miracle worker!!

Dr. McDonnell really attempts every option besides just pain medicine which I appreciate. They are compassionate and understanding. This isnt a pill mill so if you are coming for your high I wouldnt suggest going here. You will also be drug tested for drugs that are not supposed to be in your system and to make sure you are taking the pain medicine you are prescribed. The waits can be long sometimes but nothing like horror stories of 3-4 hour waits I have heard at other places. Brittany is also very kind and listens. I was really surprised by this place.UPDATE: DOCTOR MCDONNELL HAS LEFT AS HE HAS DIFFERENT VIEWS THAN DEACONESS. HE HAS MOVED TO VITALITY PAIN CLINIC AND I HAVE TRANSFERED TO HIM THERE. GOODBYE DEACONESS!!!

Not my experience but I was there with the person going through it.... Dr. Harries was absolutely horrendous with bedside manner if you can even say he had any manner. He stated the exact same thing multiple times telling patient they were overweight and that was the cause of their pain. He also brought up childhood trauma as a reason for the pain. Not once did he truly recommend anything that would help other than referring to a psychologist for issues of the childhood trauma that was making them choose to be overweight to prevent any future trauma and that he hoped the patient would obsess over losing weight before their child ended up without a parent because of a stroke That visit alone would make anyone want to see a psychologist just because of the visit alone and what was said. Just so horrendous that he immediately took weight and old family history into account without offering true option or even asking if the patient has overcome any childhood traumas.... My heart hurts for the patient because they left crying instead of feeling better.

Dr. Frank is awesome. I have had a great improvement since I started seeing him. He gives it to you stright and does his best to make you feel better. I would truly be lost with out his help. Just remember not all paon can be fixed. However the ones that can Francis J Mcdonnell can and will do. I think everyone who has issues should give this man a chance. He wont just toss pills at you. He will use all the tools available to try and hell you. For me, he has improved my life a great deal.

This place turned me away with no details with a referral. More like hypocritical oath. Not everyone is looking for pain medication lol Nothing but some glorified drug dealers.. Why ppl hate doctors! Only look out for number one smh

Dr McDonnell, Brittany, Nurses and staff are very friendly, and caring about relieving my chronic nonhealing leg venous stasis wound. with sympathetic leg blocks, of which, help tremendously. They are all very thorough. Waiting time is 15-20 mins. It is easy to make or change your Appt. I am thankful for Dr McDonnell, with his knowledge with competancy. Staff also very competent.

Dr. McDonnell screamed in my face because of something my mother said to his receptionist, while I was back waiting for a procedure. He was so close he was spitting in my face while he screamed at me. The nurse convinced me to have procedure, since I was so bad off. It didnt even last half the time of the short term injection he did to see which would help.me the most. He is an awful horrible man. I never went back there.

Suffer from Trigeminal Neurapathy or facial pain. My life completely changed after a routine dental procedure when my wisdom teeth were removed. Went to several doctors in St. Louis and was like a zombie due to all the drugs given to me. I believe my doctors gave up. Heard of a special procedure that can be done to the facial nerves from a lady in Australia, who has the same condition as me. This lead me to Dr Macdonnell and Deaconess Pain Management.I can not say enough good things about Dr Macdonnell and the whole staff really. He thinks outside the box and genuinely cares. I had a somewhat unusual surgery last year and have improved a lot. I dont know where I would be if I had not met these great people.

Since Dr McDonnell left, this place is horrible now! Dr Harries has horrible bed side manner, and is very cruel.. He also told me that smoking would keep my pain meds from working, he also said smoking would make my back pain and other pain worse. Ill be looking up and going to Dr McDonnell.
