I loved going here. Unfortunately I had to move. This was my first experience at a CrossFit gym and I felt very welcomed by everyone. I didn’t feel judged at all and the only competition there is yourself! Everyone roots for everyone. This is a great gym with great people. I’ll miss it.

After about 6 weeks I can’t speak highly enough about this CrossFit Box. The coaching and classes run like a well oiled clock. I have had the opportunity to attend classes with at least 5 of the coaches, each of them knowledgeable, and attentive to what I need and working with me at my level while addressing everyone one in the class at their need and level. Class size is limited to ensure the coaches do not get overwhelmed with more athletes than they can effectively coach. I hear from someone in the box at least once a week checking in to see how my progress is going and if there is anything they can do for me. Everyone at theBox is friendly and always there to cheer you on to the next PR no matter what your age or ability.

Fit Augusta is a great CrossFit gym with an excellent coaching team, diverse workout programming, and friendly member community. The members and coaches make an effort to create fellowship opportunities and keep people engaged through the year. With several classes per day, personal training, weekend workouts, and regular optional competition events, it’s the type of gym that offers something for everyone, and a great functional workout experience no matter your fitness level or previous CrossFit exposure. If you’re considering a gym, check this one out. The only regret you will have is not starting sooner!

I have not been tp the gym but texted with them. The program they have for seniors is interesting but they do not require masks or proof of vaccination of clients. I have no idea of what their requirements are for staff. They talk about spacing people out for classes and having special air filters but the reality their policy is irresponsible and unhealthy, especially for a health group courting a vulnerable population. People go to these types of classes partly to socialize and will not be distancing themselves when doing that 🙄

I joined Fit Augusta (formerly Crossfit Augusta) 6 weeks ago. I have done crossfit before but lost interest due to the programming and large classes where I felt lost in the shuffle. They do a great job of keeping class sizes smaller so that you can still get 1:1 attention during the class, while keeping a regimented program that makes sense. I have enjoyed it so much so Ive been coming to the morning workouts, which I never used to do. Joining this box has allowed me to grow in physical strength as well as build confidence in my current abilities. Cannot wait to see how much growth can be had!

Expert Coaching in an Inclusive CommunityI consistently trained at CrossFit Augusta 3-4 times a week for six months. My observations from the many hours I spent at CFA are below:1. Inclusive Community: CrossFit Augusta actively cultivates an environment that is uniquely accepting of athletes of all backgrounds and levels of familiarity with CrossFit. This spirit of inclusion is championed by all coaches on the staff and all members of the community.2. Expert Coaching: Ward Reckhart (Head Coach) is the most knowledgable, skilled, and passionate coach that I have ever had the privilege of working with. I worked with Ward 1:1 3 times a week for six months. During that time, I not only learned important movements integral to functional fitness, but I also learned important lessons about myself. Ward set me on the path to become the athlete that Ive always wanted to be: resilient, patient, and disciplined. He recognized and cultivated the athlete that I didnt know that I could be. In that manner, Wards talent as a coach goes far beyond his expansive technical knowledge (olympic lifting, metabolic conditioning, performance based nutrition, strength training, etc.). Wards true talent lies in being able to shape and mold those fortunate enough to be taught by him. Wards dedication to his craft is infectious--the entire staff at CrossFit Augusta benefits from his presence. Conclusion: CrossFit Augusta is not only welcoming to athletes of all skill levels, but it is also staffed with coaches that will bring positive change to all clients that step through its doors.

I have been going to classes at CFA for just over month now and have loved every minute. Before joining CFA I had never attended a CrossFit class, but the 4 session Fundamentals training with George was perfect for helping me understand the movements and prepare for the regular classes. Each coach has been amazing at checking in throughout the class to make sure movements stay safe, offering encouragement, and giving hints on how to improve or correct.I did quite a bit of research into CrossFit prior to joining and the key piece of information that stuck out is that the quality of the box matters above all else. Without coaches and programs that continually teach safe movements, you will fail or get injured. CrossFit Augusta far exceeds my expectations! Im looking forwards to tomorrows, WOD!

Ive never done cross fit before. I joined the legends class (for people over 50) about 6 weeks ago and I love it. The coaches are great about adapting for individual ability. The classes are small so lots of attention is paid to form. I noticed a huge difference in my energy level after the first week and after 6 weeks my range of motion in my shoulders has greatly improved as has my overall strength. I love the classes and always look forward to going.

Started here 2 months ago and I am amazed! Everything is organized, clean, and very structured. The coaches are very knowledgeable and give you their time and attention. They use the Wodify app so you have all your workouts in the palm of your hand. It’s so easy to enter your scores and the app saves it all! I wouldn’t hesitate on seeing what Fit Augusta is all about! Go ahead and sign up for that trial class! You won’t regret it!

My daughter got me interested in CrossFit Augusta. I was very hesitant at first because I am pushing 60 years old and have back challenges. I spoke at length about my concerns/fears with George Lee, the owner. After thinking on it for a while, I decided to give it a try. After going thru the initial On Ramp (learning the movements/exercises) with Michael , I felt more confident. One thing that has has been stressed by all the coaches, is that everything is scale-able. If you cannot do a particular exercise, the coaches will substitute it for something comparable that you can do. During a workout all the coaches monitor your movements and make corrections if needed. I have found all the coaches to be helpful and extremely knowledgeable. All the other gym members have all been friendly and positive. If you are interested in challenging your body for better long term heath with a great group of individuals, then I would highly recommend giving CrossFit Augusta a try.

After years of inconsistency at the gyms, I spoke to Nikki (a coach at FitAugust) about my fitness goals. She suggested I try CrossFit. So I did. The first day, I immediately regretted my decision. My first workout was a hellish set of box jumps, squats, and other forms of torture that I NEVER experienced before. I felt weak, not good enough, not strong enough and out of place. The first month or two I took a look at the workout prior to class and based on the workout, I would say “nope can’t do that, not going”. It was so bad that I missed a whole week!Instead of running away from CrossFit, I do what I can. If I am unable to do a movement, I work at it every class and check it off my goals checklist. I have fitness goals like getting my kipping pull-ups and handstands push-ups/walks down.  Do I compare myself to others? Of course, but in a way that I admire for their perseverance and try to emulate them!FitAugusta showed me how I could actually have friends at the gym, and with their help I’ve been able to do more than alone.  CrossFit proved that my value came not from my physical appearance but from my determination, will to not stoping, and will to keep moving!

I have been a member going on five weeks now and my first impressions are very positive. The class sizes during the 6:30 p.m. time frame average around 6 to 8 which allows for plenty of room. The coaching is hands on and very good. I cant think of a question I have had that they werent able to answer. Also, coaches and veteran members are very encouraging. The atmosphere during the classes is upbeat and allows for a very good opportunity to achieve your goals, whatever they may be.

After 4 busy kids and lots of eating out, some extra lbs and little energy...something needed to change. I tried a few other gyms but got bored and eventually quit. I had never tried cross fit before and was a little hesitant to be throwing weight around. It was intimidating, until I met the coaches at CrossFit Augusta. They have a great introduction program and I was very happy to ease into it and really learn the moves and the correct way to do the lifts etc. I have now been going for 7 month and still love it. Every day is different. The coaches and other athletes are very encouraging and motivating. Today they pushed me to run the first full mile I have run (without stopping) in over 15 years. Cant wait to see what Ill be able to do in another 7 months.

Highly overpriced. You are risking your physical safety with trainers who have no education in kinesiology. They have a certificate in cross fit training. Anyone can get this with some experience in cross fit. It doesnt make them an expert. I feel it was a dangerous model.

I had been an on-and-off member at CrossFit Augusta (prior to the change of ownership). Having recently started my membership again at CFA, I am thrilled to be part of the group again. The CFA facility is so much more organized and well-utilized, and its programs and coaching are more well-rounded (in terms of catering to all skill levels). George, all of the coaches, and each member have welcomed and included me since Day 1. What a great group of people who love getting a good workout in, support each other throughout, and maybe enjoy a little friendly competition along the way. I highly recommend CFA!

VERY impressed with this box. I dropped in with them while in Augusta for work. The owners, George and Dana set the tone for an awesome community. Also, they are very reasonable with rates for drop-ins traveling through the area. What sets this place apart from other boxes is their programming which is handled by CFAs own (and four or five-time CF Open regional athlete) Brian Prochaska. You will be doing the same training he sets up for himself - it is great. They dont waste a minute of the hour long class and pack it with skill work, metcon, and active mobility work. Give them a shot - you wont be disappointed!
