Great selection of gently used items. Prices here are some of the best thrift store prices Ive seen. Store was very organized and had a lot of low cost furniture options. Items go to those in need, or are sold and money donated to help Father Joes shelters.

Im rating not only the shopping experience but also my time working there. It was a good job in between 2013-2016. I worked under Micheal B my last year there with Lester and a girl named Toni. We were a cool group. I did the jewelry testing and pricing and the clothes mostly. I also worked the donation truck. FUN STUFF 😒😒....i went back to the store a year later and realized it had changed COMPLETELY and not for the better...which sucks!!! I loved it there. Hopefully they get it together eventually

This place used to be a hidden gem then something changed in the last 2-3 months. I feel like a huge burden to the staff when asking a question and their prices went way up. I even pointed out where an item was priced more then it would be at the original retailer (Costco) I pulled it up on my phone to show them but they didn’t seem to care and wouldn’t budge on the price. I have picked up several items that are brand new with the price tags from the original retailer on them and yet the father Joe’s price is higher.Today I was not greeted when I entered, I was not acknowledged when I was making my purchase and was not even spoke to at the end of my transaction. No “goodbye” or “thank you” not one word. I have been coming in to this store for 3 years and I got not one word from the shorter African American male who rang me up and who has seen me hundreds of times. There used to be a lovely heavier African-American man that was the manager and an equally lovely Hawaiian lady that worked here that were super friendly and since they’ve gone the store has gone down hill. Unfortunately I’m just going to continue driving past it to head to the Salvation Army in Santee. It’s such a shame.Side note: if you come in after 5pm don’t count on much (if any) help from the staff because all they are focused on after 5 is prepping for closing time at 6. Yes 6pm! It went from 9pm to 6pm. Ridiculous.

This place used to be cool. The prices were good and the people were pleasant. However, now you would be better off buying whatever it is that your looking for, brand new because its probably about the same price as they are selling it for.

This shop is a true grab bag. Unlike most thrift shops, there doesnt seem to be any filtering as to what makes it to the sales floor. And thats a good thing. Most shops have employees who Stash all the good stuff before it ever makes it into the store. But at this place Ive found some real gems, and the employees are the best around. They are helpful and willing to go out of their way for people who need a little extra help. Sometimes their pricing can be a little perplexing. Ive seen used items with prices on them at almost double what new retail would be, and other times Ive come across stuff that is a small fraction of the items true value. But thats all part of the thrift shop experience I guess.

This is a small thrift store with parking along the side. They have an excellent selection of glassware, which is far more reasonably priced than the Goodwill. I witnessed staff, Michael, being courteous to patrons and he was friendly, pleasant and helpful when I checked out. They offer daily discounts on items and the proceeds go toward helping the homeless in San Diego. In sum Id definitely go back to this place if I were in the area.

Pretty good thrift store supporting a great organization. Decent selection, low prices, friendly staff. Father Joes Village is hugely impactful in terms of helping SD Countys homeless population, so you can feel good about the money you spend here.

I like what Joes Village offers to the community better than Goodwill. Always very friendly!! Although they dont have a huge store, they do have some cool things.

Some of the stuff is well priced while other stuff seems a bit more than I would be pricing stuff that was gifted to you. But it is for a good cause.

We tried to drop off items that were clean, solid wood, folding chairs without stains and some records. The gentleman told us that he was trained and that nothing we were bringing would be accepted. He was extremely rude without reason why he would not accept the items but he kept carrying around the bag of records. I tried to throw them in the dumpster and he threatened to call the police and was screaming and yelling at us. I took the items to McAllister Thrift who were very pleased with the donations and accepted them without question. I have been bringing items to this store for 22 years and have never been treated so rudely. My other daughter told me when we got home what jerks they are at this site. Multiple calls to the director unanswered.

This place may have a name for helping the homeless, but I dont see it. Im homeless, and after 5 minutes in there I realized I couldnt afford to buy anything I was looking for.2 dollars for a used plastic cup. 6 dollars for a used pair of jeans that dont really fit. You can get brand new perfectly fitted jeans at Walmart for under 10 dollars. 5 dollars for the used hardbacks I wouldnt mind reading. All in all, I see it as a place where someone is making a profit in the name of the Lord and of the Homeless.A perfectly despisable organization.Want to see real thrift stores that help the poor?Try the senior thrift store in Barstow. Try SW thrift in Blythe. Go into those places and you actually see a store full of happy to be there and get a real deal homeless and poor people.

The cashier are also the pricers. Been there twice where they are the ones who tagg merchandise. And when i bring a item up thats mistagged they are the ones who feel what it should be priced thats bad. If it has mistags on it the price should be honored. Somebody else should be pricing not the cashiers who think this store is a swap meet. It is a non profit thrift store. Not a swap meet. On kitchen items you shold be pricng items based on a prcing tier pots pans 3.99 , knives 1.99 plates .50 etc just like your clothes its getting bad and I wont come back now. Spent lots of money in your store and you have lost me as a customer and i will unlikely recomment based on my last experience.

This lil old thrift shop is becoming AMAZING!! A tall mocha man took over and the clothes are getting organized in a cohesive manner thats athletically pleasing as well. Tons of top brands and lots of new merch too (Vans and DC this week) This place is so much better than any thrift shop in East County plus the staff are so friendly.

I get that thrift stores are hit or miss and the money goes to a good cause. Unfortunately a quarter of this store is open box retail returns and they are expensive. Prices are as high as Goodwill with much lower quality. DVDs are $3. CDs are $2
