I had traditional braces years ago but didn’t keep up with the retainer so my front teeth moved some. I was very self conscious about the gap and decided to fix it before my wedding. I decided to do it just a few months before my wedding and the ovation team listened to what and when I need to accomplished by and went above and beyond to help me be the confident bride! I later referred my husband to the ovation team. My husband and me joke that if our kids were ever need braces when they are older, we already picked out the best orthodontists- the ovation team for sure!

We’ve had a wonderful experience at Ovation. Both of my boys had their braces on at the same time and Ovation was always accommodating with appointments. They’re easy to work with and willing to go the extra mile. From the minute you walk in you’re greeted with a smile. We rarely ever waited to be seen. Appointments were always quick. I went in today to get my second round of trays, and while it was a longer appointment than expected it still was a great experience. Four of seven attachments, all on my up left side, would not stay attached. Hallie was awesome, calm and professional the entire time. Even though she was getting frustrated, she kept her cool and we just took breaks as needed. We both celebrated those last four finally stay put. All of the staff is friendly and helpful, the office has a great energy & atmosphere to it.

Ovation Orthopedics was outstanding. Their practice uses state-of-the art technology and practices. Their staff, from the doctors, to the assistants, to the front desk staff are always professional, courteous, and most importantly GREAT at what they do. Customer service in any industry is key but Ovation Orthodontic really goes all out. They’ll send documentation to your kids school for being absent due to an appointment. I highly recommend Ovation Orthodontics. Dr. Hoxie has such a great demeanor with the parents and the kids. He’s very easy to talk to, always friendly and explains things in a way that you and your child can understand. I have a daughter with sensory processing disorder and she just could not adjust to the feeling of the braces due to her sensitivity. After learning of the situation he came in on a Saturday (his day off) talked through some options and suggested we try Invisalign. He removed the braces that day to provide some relief to my daughter. Knowing the braces were a struggle for her, the office gave her a gift card from the bank as a way to keep the experience positive and encouraging. They’ve gone above and beyond!

Little lengthy review here...We have a child with Autism and came to Ovation following an undesirable experience at another local Ortho and for a 2nd opinion. In an attempt to avoid derailing needed orthodontics for our son, we called Ovation first and extensively questioned the experience the staff had with special needs patients, and what we could expect in terms of care. My wife is extremely “thorough” 🤗...and after her interrogation we were recommended to see Dr. Hoxie.It was decided he’d only get his top braces , take time to adjust, and then add the lowers at a later time. At his first appt our son got into the chair, was looking around and taking everything in. The assistant was preparing his teeth for Dr. Hoxie explaining each step along the way and while he held it together well we could feel his anxiety rising. Dr. Hoxie came to say hello, said a few words to our son, and turned to walk away. In passing the assistant he said, “top four” she looked up as if she misunderstood, repeated his statement back to him to which he replied, “yes, just top four.” Dr Hoxie returned to apply the brackets. He got the four on and our son lost it. He couldn’t handle having something on his teeth. Luckily he bounced back as best he could and adjusted in about a week. Each time we come in Dr. Hoxie and his team pick up the specific nuances of our son and use that to ensure the best visits possible.It’s important for us to share experiences like the one we’ve had with Ovation. We as his parents know him best but still have to learn through new experiences such as how he’ll process having braces put on. There are care providers in our son’s life that take years to get to a level of understanding and predictability with him. It’s difficult to express and describe the feeling you get as a parent when you have a provider that knew from just a visual evaluation and his own practice experience that doing more than we had that day would likely have resulted in a far more difficult transition. To Ovation something like this may be just another day but to us it means everything. We are so thankful to Dr. Hoxie and the Staff at Ovation for letting our son be himself, treating him on the level he comes in at each time and not just going through the motions, and allowing him to feel like any other patient in the clinic. Thank you for making this difficult transition as smooth as it has been, we are forever grateful!

What makes Hultgren, Hoxie, and Waki Orthodontics special is the level of service and care I received throughout my orthodontic treatment journey. It probably would not be an exaggeration to say that this place sets the bar for what service should be, not only for dentistry/orthodontics, but for anywhere. Im not exaggerating. Most of my experiences come from the Waconia location, but every person I have dealt with from here has been poised, knowledgeable, friendly, personable, down-to-earth, and even funny. They really worked hard to make an admittedly not-so-fun experience - having braces as an adult - the best experience it possibly could be. Many of the hygienists got to know me on a first-name basis. Even the facilities have a bright, clean effervescence about them that is relaxing and positive. To put it simply: I never dreaded coming here, and thats saying a lot, considering my attitude towards most other types of medical appointments. Simply outstanding.

Three years ago, I sought out advice on how to get an implant for a tooth that I have been missing since childhood. I was referred by a prosthodontist to Dr. Waki to discuss the braces portion of the plan. I went in for an initial consultation and was impressed with her, but I am a professional, I had a bad experience with child orthodontics that prompted this issue, and braces just could not be part of the solution. My dentist referred me to another orthodontist who also recommended braces along with some oral surgery to leave enough room for an implant.A year later, a member of my staff got adult braces, and I asked her who she was seeing because I didnt notice them and her teeth were looking great. We had similar experiences with child orthodontics. Surprisingly she told me Dr. Waki. I drove from the eastern side of the Twin Cities to Dr. Wakis offices in the western suburbs for another consultation.My case was technically challenging, but Dr. Waki approaches cases thoroughly with clear technical knowledge and pragmatism. She listened to my goals and presented a unique and unconventional plan to close my gap that was tailored to me. My dentist was not too keen on her plan, but despite his many protests, I proceeded with Dr. Wakis plan because I trusted her. My results have been so successful that I no longer need an implant and my dentist admitted that this plan worked better than he thought. My choice of Dr. Waki as my orthodontist, with her willingness to experiment with an unconventional plan, has probably saved me thousands of dollars in additional dental costs.Sure there are more convenient orthodontists located near me, but the hour drive has been completely worth it. I have nothing but high remarks for Dr. Waki and her friendly staff. I highly recommend her to adults needing braces and to adults wanting the best for their kids.
