I dont recall the last time I visited an office where everyone was so polite and welcoming. I found them on Google and made an appt through their site for 5pm. I called them early in the morning to see if I can come in sooner since I was in excruciating pain. The Doctor/Receptionist was very nice and let me come in at 9am. I will surely be using this establishment for all of my future dental work!

When you come into the waiting area it looked clean until you set down the smell coming from the chair was foul and the staff was not friendly or professional. The exam room where not clean it look like I had walked intoa different place. The sinks by the exam chair were stain and need to be clean. The Dental Assistant placed an a.cup on the sink but she has her bare fingers on the inside of the cup. I was glad I have bottled water with me. The lab coat the dental assistant and the doctors lab coat were stained and In need of washing. I have my body cam on through the Procedure And was shocked at what I saw. Went to see two another dentist two weeks later and I was told my teeth had not been cleaned. I then let him review the tape when I was leaving the office he suggested I seek legal help if the insurance company paid for services not rendered. BEWARE!!!!!!!

100% would recommend the office is very clean. It was honestly the best experience I’ve had at a dentist office in my life from the phone call making my appointment to the second I walked out. The staff is exceptional they accommodate their patient in every way. The assistants and doctors are wonderful and make going to the dentist something to look forward to. The ladies in the front are the best they are very informative and make sure you come back for your next appointment at the most convenient and earliest time of your availability. Everyone here is very nice and polite and genuinely concerned about the well being of the patients. They are punctual and make things clear for patients to understand. They most definitely will go out their way to make you comfortable and informed. I honestly wish I could give more than just 5 stars. This dentist is a must try. Thanks Academy Dental 😊

This is the absolute worse place you could ever go to. Highly unprofessional. This is the bottom of the barrel of dentist. Im not sure if they are all students trying to learn but no one seems to know what they are doing here. DO NOT COME HERE! I REPEAT DO NOT COME HERE! Unless its an absolute emergency and you have no other choice make this the very last option. Go to a mechanic with a dirty wrench first.

I HAD TO CHOOSE A STAR IN ORDER TO POST...Because Academy Dental wouldnt work with me, ANGELIQUE BRUCE, until I could change my coverage in October (Medicares open enrollment period) to include coverage in providing a payment plan; I ended up hospitalized three days with presepsis of an untreated tooth infection. I have documentation, photos, co-pays and the pain and suffering from the neglect of one neighborhood practice towards another neighbor. I was frightened at the realization that I was 36 hours from stroking out and dying because the infection spread from the tooth to my cavernous sinus, inches from my brain. Yeah...I do not recommend Academy Dental. Theyll do the bare minimum for the maximum amount of money. Thanks for the close call with death Academy Dental.EDIT*** NONE OF THIS IS INACCURATE! Dr. Thind office was gentle and nice. I don’t know the dr name but He fixed my broken front tooth as if they never were broke. I recommend him until he leave. Hope to get more work from him before he go. Also the office was clean and professional and staff is friendly. I’m not new to this office but I recommend them for all your dental needs.

Great Staff! Very professional. The office is very modern unlike most dental offices. Overall experience was great, in and out for both visits!

The wait was very long. I had an appointment at 4, I arrived at 4, and I was not seen until 4:45. But as soon as I was seen I was taken seriously, treated nicely and I had answers and solutions to all of my questions and problems. It was a good experience overall and they were all very nice.

I have no complaints at all! I needed emergency treatment and that is exactly what they provided. Im sure we all no tooth pain is no joke. I was unable to get an appointment with my regular dentist in the matter that I needed...from the time I gave my info and requested an appointment to treatment and complete satisfaction was less than 24 hrs I wish I remembered the dentist who work on me name he was awesome caring and professional im never going back to my old dentist...Thank you so very much ...(I even had an issue with my insurance and the wonderful women from the front desk made sure I was taken care of) covid precautions taken.

Just came back from this place and the way I leave my house with my teeth, the same things were on it. It’s so crazy, I never faced these craziness. The dentist was so nice but I wish if this didn’t happen with him but it crazy.

So from the start had not the best experience with the cleaning/ exam. The dentist was too rough. Didn’t know how to be gentle and failed to explain certain procedures otw. Long periods of times between appointments are annoying considering if you have a bad toothache that needs immediate attention. So I get to my appointment to do a root canal and my procedure was changed to fillings without any prior notification. Wasn’t even aware till I was sitting in the chair. So I get numbing injection and waited over 30 mins before they started working on me cause they were busy. So I had to get injected multiple times afterwards as the numbing was wearing off. So they couldn’t even finish all the fillings they even wanted to do since I was maxed out on the amount of anesthesia they can give.

I took my mother to Academy Dental Because she was in severe pain. The office itself is nice but I was upset that we had to wait at least 35 minutes before being seen. While in the back we were told of the pricing and if we would like to move forward. She then was given antibiotics and told to come back two days later to have the teeth removed. Once again when we arrived we were only three minutes late at which we called ahead to let them know and still had to wait almost 35 to 40cbecause she was in severe pain. The venue itself is nice but I was upset that we had to wait at least 30 minutes before being seen. While she was in the back with the dentist others in the lobby were complaining about the waiting time and the machine not working as well. I also saw other people come in from outside take a water from the fridge and walk back outside. Normally this would not concern me however with Covid I didnt think that would be appropriate especially in a dental office. I sat there for 2 1/2 hours waiting for my mom while listening to others complain about the wait time and that no one had came and wiped anything down with the constant flow of ppl that were coming in. One woman came from outside her exam room to the lobby to ask where the doctor was and she had already been waiting 30mins in the lobby and another 20in the back. Once my mom was done, she was THEN told that her fee would be $470.00!! I have never been to any healthcare facility that doesnt discuss pricing especially that high before proceeding as the kind gentleman did with us Monday. I asked if any payment plan was offered and was told not for extractions then the card machine didnt work and we were told to use the ATM in the lobby in which the max was $120.00 and we were not going to make 4 transactions. While they were trying to fix the situation they then asked to take a pic of the card and they would call for authorization. My mother hesitated but went ahead. Im not upset about pricing because she has no insurance however, to charge someone AFTER their procedure without discussing charges is unheard of to me and my colleagues that I spoke with at my firm. My mom is still afraid having her card info floating around the office. I will be placing my mom on my dental next month because this was unheard of. I understand why the other clients there were so frustrated, hopefully they had cash, and LOTS of it. Something needs to be done about this. Dropping charges that high on people after numbing them for surgery is unheard of.

Im so sorry I dont remember the doctors name, but she is very tall, slim and elegant. She was fantastic!!! I did an extraction and I was super nervous and expecting pain and discomfort. However, I felt neither. She explained to me step by step everything that she would be doing. Thank you guys so much!!!! Also clean environment and fast service. I have a new dentist for life. Thanks guys. Much appreciated.

After SIX facilities told.me they couldnt help until 4 plus days out I was recommended to try this facility. I called at 930AM in excruciating pain and I was seen by 3pm. Dr. Drevim was so gentle,efficient and caring. She gave me pain relief after my diagnosis so that I could make the choice with a sound mind..I was in PAIN!!! Mrs.Mandlee was extremely empathetic and helpful and made sure I was treated as a millionaire (lol)...I have to be back unfortunately lol but I wouldnt have it any other way!!! From the front desk to the exam room! Absolutely 5 star!! God bless them all!

Had a mixed experience at Academy Dental. Staff is super nice, but not really satisfied with the work. Had three different dentists do the work, even though I preferred to stay with the same. One dentist started root canal, but another started crown process, and then I was unable to return to my original dentist.

It’s a great place with good dentists and the service is really good. The doctors and staff were very friendly and nice during my visit.

Everyone here seemed very friendly and informative, which is great for me because I don’t like going to the dentist. I haven’t been in at least 6 years and Dr. Shah and her two dentist assistants made me feel very comfortable. The procedures were very quick and accurate! I have to comeback to fill a few cavities 😔 but I know I’m in good hands! Thank you!

I personally picked this dental office when I turned 18 and had the responsibility of dealing with my own dentist appointments and I am truly grateful I came to this office. As a college student in NY but a resident of NJ they work with my schedule every time and are truly kind people. Like any other place you will wait a lil to to be seen, but the wait time is the shortest I’ve even experienced. I personally love coming to this dentist and would recommend it to anyone else. Academy Dental is thus far the best dentist i’ve been too! My daughter was absolutely petrified of the dentist however Dr. Khaykin explained everything he was doing step by step and was able to put her mind at ease. She did better than me lol (seriously). The office is clean well organized, the staff is always very friendly and courteous. I would highly recommend Academy Dental especially if you hate going to the dentist 🦷 they are absolutely amazing!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. So I went in and they were like ok we need to make a gap here to fill these part and we will fill this gap. I was thinking the whole time ok they’re professionals so I let them do their job. Then when they were almost done they were like oh we can’t fill the gap it’s not big enough to fill. Hello I thought you were professionals. Ever since then I haven’t been able to smile because I hate how my teeth look. Now I’m in search of professionals that can actually do the job correctly. Sorry to say but I don’t recommend this place at all. I have never been so disappointed like this

Academy Dental East Orange has such a friendly staff and incredible service. The atmosphere is very welcoming, I started off getting my regular cleaning and eventually got braces from there. The Dentist and Orthodontist are both very nice and create genuine connections with the patients. Truly a great experience every time I go 😁.

Staff is sensitive funny and the whole environment just puts you at ease from checking-in to checkout. The waiting room decor is as tranquil as the comfortable dentist chair and there are televisions literally everywhere to help take your mind off those X-RAY results or the sound of the drill in the next room. I had very pleasant experience at Academy Dental of East Orange. The receptionist was very kind to accommodate me despite it being the end of the day when I walked in with dental emergency.The clinic is very relaxing and staff is extremely professional and helpful. After a very short wait time I was seen by Dr. Prachi Shah who is an absolute delight. I have been to many dentists in past but this has been the most relaxing experience where Dr. Shah patiently explained the whole procedure to me. She gave me wonderful tips about dental hygiene. I was most impressed by her excellent procedural skills.Well, Now I wont be anxious about my dentist visits anymore.

Decided to give this new place a try. I must say i was pleasantly surprised. I usually dread visiting dental offices but Academy Dental was great. Wait time was about 10 minutes and Dr. Shah was very patient to understand my needs. Did not try to drill additional holes in my teeth like usual dental shops that treat you like a credit card!! Just recommended what was needed and scheduled a follow up visit for next week. hopefully that should be it :).

I was looking for a dentist for myself and my kids and went here upon recommendation of a friend. I was pleasantly surprised by the ambience and general decor of the office. Modern and upscale, quite different from most practices in this area. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The dentist was outstanding and very patient with my kids. Overall, one of the least painful visit to a dentist!
