Office always is on time. Dr. Herman is great and knows exactly what I need.

Im a previous patient and the doctor I went to retired. I called to schedule an appointment and was told they had two appointments open. One in March and one in July of 2022. This is September of 2021. Also, was told my appointment would be with a physician assistant. I would not recommend.

The staff at the actual location are really nice. However why do I need to wait in a 30 min que to reschedule an appointment? Why can’t someone at the office answer the phone, it doesn’t feel very personable. Nobody should have to wait that long for something that takes about 15 seconds to do.

Everyone made me feel welcomed and comfortable. The doctor was thorough and didnt appear to be rushing to get to the next patient. Also, she encouraged me to ask questions and took the time to answer them.

Dr. Herman was absolutely wonderful. I went in for a baseline, full body skin cancer screening and she was so thorough and so kind, explaining everything. I felt very confident in her expertise and look forward to returning next year. So glad I found this practice and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for great dermatologists in the Lansing area!

Dr. Asarch and his Assistant were so kind and thoughtful to me as I recently had surgery prior to their appointment. They thoroughly explained what the procedure they were going to do and what my aftercare would entail. A very professional and polite office. They were excellent!

Absolutely the rudest office staff and PA I have EVER encountered. Two 140 mile round trips and never saw a doctor. Second trip was told my appointment was the day before. I have NEVER miss a doctors appointment in my entire life. The PA I saw on the first visit treated and talked to me as if I was an absolute fool. Total disrespect and disrgard for my concerns, experiences and questions. Would not recommend this experience to anyone.

My first time at this office. Was very impressed with staff, competence and friendliness and how quickly I got in to see Dr. Herman. She was amazing--gave me more info about what to look for with regard to skin cancer concerns than Ive ever been given before. Feel blessed to be able to have her taking care of any skin issues I may have in the future.

I had a great experience overall. The front office staff was kind, and efficient in getting me checked in, and I got taken back in a very timely manner. My only complaint would be that when the Doctor came in, to meet me for the first time... the first thing she said was for me to put my mask back on! In a rude, scolding type of way. I’m a new patient. I only took it off because I didn’t think she would be able to properly view the spot of concern on my face with me wearing it. I wasn’t being disrespectful to the rules in any way, shape or form. So she could have communicated to please put my mask back on in a much more professional way. Not like I’m a toddler mis behaving at day care. It made me feel embarrassed, as she pointed out the sign “right in front of my face” 😳 So otherwise, my experience was excellent! Your office was clean, organized, I was in and out within 25 minutes!! So thanks for being so efficient and kind! I’ll be back if I need any other dermatology needs, and I would recommend this office to friends and family as well. Even as I was walking out to leave, the front office girls said good bye and to have a nice day! Keep up the good work! ❤️👍😊.

I WAS PLEASED WITH THE COVID PREVENTION PLANS THAT WERE IN PLACE IN THE OFFICE. I DID NOT WAIT LONG AND THE PA THAT I SAW WAS KNOWLEDGABLE AND EFFECIENT. THANKFULLY I DID NOT REQUIRE ANY TREATMENT SO I LEFT HAPPY!

Their computer systems are severely out of date. This resulted in a security breach where customer data became compromised.

Dr Herman is personal, professional and explains everything in lay terms. Her staff is friendly and helpful.

Today I felt as though we were being rushed through our appointment and we were a number to complete at the end of the day. I havent felt this in previous appointments but today I didnt feel like I had the opportunity to ask all my questions and restate what I needed to do with the new prescription.

I recently saw Dr. Van Acker at Forefront Dermatology for the first time and she is the most competent dermatologist I have been to. I recently moved to East Lansing from Maryland and was anxious about seeing a new provider considering I have a history of skin cancer. She took detailed care to look at all of my skin, circling suspicious moles/lesions before deciding to remove in order to get a feel for what is normal for my skin. She also helped to jump start aggressive treatments of some plantar warts that I have been unsuccessfully trying to manage for 2+ years. She explained what she was doing the entire time and even got to know me personally, and helped distract me when she had to remove a few moles for testing. She was not only incredibly thorough in her approach to my care, but she was also following all recommended COVID-19 precautions and ensured that I felt safe while receiving care at Forefront Dermatology. I would highly recommend her to anyone and I look forward to my follow-up appointments in the future.

A traffic back up caused by an accident caused me to be a few minutes late, but they got me in expeditiously. Both Dr Van Acker & Audra worked efficiently to find and treat suspect areas, provide instruction & a prescription for home care and set up the next appointment. The only downside was that between my compromised hearing the muffling effect of the Docs mask and face-guard,, I did have difficulty hearing all I was being told.

My 4 year doctor left Messenger offices. No answer for 2 weeks calling the appointment line. Trying Forefront as new office, staff and procedure. Went online and requested an appointment. Firefront called in 48 hours to schedule. Because of CoVID, it will October for my appointment. So far very smooth and personal. Im happy and Ill keep you posted.

Going to Forefront is always an easy, great experience. The front desk staff is wonderful and friendly. Sara Wilchowski is a PA but I request to see her because she is extremely knowledgeable, personable, straight-forward and helpful. She listened to my history and needs to create a good medicine plan for me and when a medication was too expensive at my pharmacy she helped me find an alternative. I have had bad experiences with dermatologists in the past and I cant say enough how stress-relieving finding Forefront has been. So thankful to their team!

My recent visit to Forefront Dermatology was a pleasant experience for an annual skin check. Staff were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. As expected, the wait time between when my appointment was scheduled and when I actually saw the physician was about 15-20 min, which in my experience is less than the average wait time for this statistic. It was also about 2-3 months to book an appointment that coordinated with my schedule (I work nights), but again, this is an expected, average, statistic for the current state of our medical system in the US. I will look forward to my next years visit, that I will get about this same time.

I arrived an hour early for my appointment figuring I needed to fill out paperwork. They were able to see me within minutes of my arrival, and I did not have time to finish all the paperwork! The PA, Sara, was awesome. She has the ability to communicate what is wrong in a very simplified and understandable manner. The support staff was also very personable. They were all very transparent about the costs of procedures and the process itself. However, I was not aware I had a prescription filled out until a pharmacy called me. We talked about medications, but I did not know one was getting filled (I did need it, though). Overall, it was a very good experience.

My primary care doctor referred me to this practice, who called me the same day the received the referral to set up an appt. At first, I was shocked that it would take more than 2 months to get in, but they called me back the next day and got me in within less than a week. When I arrived, I was seen right on time and not made to wait. I visited w/ the offices PA and she was very kind, diligent, and thorough. I really appreciated her approach and knowledge. If needed in the future, I will certainly returned back to them.

Ive had a great experience at Forefront. I have a condition that required trial and error in order to get things to start to improve. Sara was very thorough in honing on on the techniques to help me see improvement. It took awhile, but I feel that I have improved noticeably. Today I had appointment with Doctor Sarah,First time I met a doctor who came into room saying there no cure for certain conditions and you need to understand this with out even checking. I know there is no cure, but definitely we can minimize with some medications.And she wanted to try with Moisturizers and Dove soaps as though I am using Tide on my skin.She dont have patience to listen to What I wanted to say. I would not recommend this Doctor

I don’t believe the rating of 4 stars is true. PAs are the people running the place? Michael didn’t represent himself as a doctor, just Michael. My confidence fell further when he did a ‘thorough yearly body check’ for cancer WITH ME FULLY CLOTHED! When I mentioned, “this seems strange...I usually have on panties and bra with a drape covering my middle body.” Michael replied, “that makes sense.” Then he asked the computer girl if she knew where robes were and she replied, “ummmm, no.” So off they went looking for a gown...I reminded them a drape would be best. After a really quick scan, Michael found a spot on my arm he said was a melanoma “and it must be taken off immediately.” I replied that “since I had breast cancer on that side and have fewer lymph nodes on that side, a specific protocol must be followed before cutting into this arm. Do you know what that protocol is?” He didn’t, but insisted it must come off right away. Long story short...another well-respected doctor who knew the protocol, took a biopsy...and THE SPOT WAS NOT CANCER OF ANY KIND. I just received a bill for ~$188 and after insurance paid their part, I owe $61.45. I am hesitant to pay that amount, think I should inform the insurance company of the poor, poor, doctoring. They do not deserve any stars.Later: Please give me a real link so I can contact you as requested for further details.

I have been with Dr Rinek for almost 40 years. He was amazing. Was never in a rush and always made it a point to ask about family, etc. Never hesitated to spend at 20+ minutes with each patient and never, EVER said no to something I wanted removed. I didnt have a great experience today at their new location. Whoever scheduled my appointment obviously wasnt listening to my concerns, because Sara was VERY rushed today and spent probably under 10 minutes total, only able to do a couple of injections and said she didnt have time today to look at my other concerns. I was baffled and felt like a chastised child when I asked a question. lol. I have a follow up visit, so depending how that appt goes, I will stay or will have to find another dermatologist. Thats the world today, quantity over quality. I miss Dr Rinek!

Everyone here is super nice, however I had some moles removed and now i have AWFUL scars. I dont feel I scar very easily so I was very shocked that my scars are so awful. I also got a horrible and swollen infection on my arm. It was so bad that the skin had swollen over my stitches and you couldnt even see them anymore. They were really nice and took care of me, however I had to keep coming back which resulted in additional charges for each visit so that was frustrating.

The appointment is processed in a timely fashion, and Sarah is friendly, courteous and concerned. She has been able to identify and treat effectively a condition that baffled three other physicians. I have nothing but praise for her skill and patient rapport.

Absolute most rude front office ever. You better hope there is no issue with your appointment or insurance. My girls went together for an first appointment and the front office was so determined to keep the appointments separate that they were down right obnoxious about it. And don’t need a school release. Because you only get excused for an hour and that is so much extra work for them that they are frustrated about that as well. Never been treated so poorly by a staff as in this office. The return visit they only scheduled one of my children and were so snotty about it that my daughter was afraid to go back to the room. I will never be back to this office. Thank you to the staff for talking so loudly about YOUR error thinking I couldn’t hear you. Unbelievable. Run. Don’t come here.

Dr. Acker did an excellent job in examining, revealing and treating spots on my skin. She was very friendly and gentle. A sign language interpreter was provided to enhance communication with the staff.

The signing in sheets feature a lot of scary stuff should you lack insurance or have financial issues. But after that, the practice does a great job reminding you of appointments, minimizing your wait time in the lobby and getting you into the examination room. Some initial chart workup (recent health history, medication changes, skin areas of concern, etcetera) is done by auxiliary health staff. After disrobing, the dermatologist (PA or MD) comes in for the examination. My skin exam was very thorough and included every skin surface which may have been exposed to a ray of sunshine during the past few years from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. A magnifying glass was held to all suspicious areas and findings were rapidly dictated to the clerk for the records. The PA, Sara Witkowski, then explained her findings and outlined the treatment options. An effective treatment plan was selected and I was given a diagram showing areas I needed to apply the Fluorouracil cream to stop the precancerous lesions. I have a lot of confidence with the professional care I received.

Used to seeing Dr.Rinek on an annual basis. When I called recently with what is considered to be an urgent skin condition I was told that an appointment was not available for 10 days.Unacceptable response. Received prompt and great treatment elsewhere.

My visit with Dr. VanAcker was excellent!! She is so thorough, has warm energy, and you can tell she genuinely cares about her patients. It is clear that she is highly competent in her field; she worked tirelessly to diagnose my condition and I am forever grateful for her concern for my health. She is absolutely the best dermatologist!!The receptionist at the entrance was diligent and made sure to take care of every patient as they came in the door. The nurse who took my history was caring and expeditious, and allowed me to be heard during my entire visit.A second nurse, however, was rude to me and to the doctor and it was clear that this nurse did not respect Dr. VanAcker for the expert and professional that she is. This nurse does not belong in this clinic and I hope that a review process is strongly considering her employment with the clinic. I would be happy to speak with anyone at the clinic regarding my experience. I do hope that management is aware of this individual. This should in no way change your opinion of this facility - you will be taken care of as Dr. VanAcker makes sure of, but should be aware of the stress that Dr. VanAcker is dealing with by a rotten apple on the staff.

Came here for an appointment already knowing what was wrong with me. Forefront filed my insurance claim with the wrong company and then sent me a bill for $178+. I had to call my insurance company and have them deal with Forefront, and they said I was all paid up. Now, months later, they sent me a bill for $10... This place is insane and wont leave me alone or delete my personal information from their databases. Theyre pretty reluctant to accept responsibility for their mistakes and Ive had to call and explain to 3 different people why Im not paying this dumb bill... They were VERY rude each time I talked to them and refuse to delete my personal information. 0 stars would be more fitting, or a huge WARNING SIGN.

Dr Monica Van Acker, is a caring, precious soul. She makes you feel as though you are the most important patient she has. She looks you straight in the eye and she caringly describes your condition, she doesnt leave you guessing, shes open to questions. Shes extremely intelligent, gentle, she even cares about my modesty issues. The nurses have been wonderful. I would give 10 stars if I could. Excellent care!
