Our pediatrician recommended Central Jersey Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics to us when our son turned a year old, our son is now 5 and still looks forward to his visits to see Dr. Backhaus & staff.

We have just come out of our quarantine for our dental and orthodontist appointments. We were very pleased to see the great efforts Central Jersey Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics put forth in effort to make our family feel safe during this difficult time. The staff were literally covered from head to toe in PPE, every precaution was taken before my children were even allowed in and as always my children were given the best over—all dental care once they were inside. They love Dr. Backhaus, Dr. Overcash and the entire staff there. They can’t wait until their next appointment!

For years I have been in this place, and it has been awful every single time. One of the dentist ladies, Sue, was completely verbally abusive to me and actually publicly embarrassed me in one account. I was incredibly depressed at the time and unfortunately my personal dental hygiene was abysmal, but I didnt deserve my awful treatment and it in fact made me even more depressed.It has been 2 and a half years, and since then I have found a new office where the staff have been nothing but respectful to me, and non surprisingly, my dental hygiene became way better. I am ashamed at the staff of this establishment and for people looking at a place to send their kids, please look ELSEWHERE!

I’ve been going to Dr. Backhaus for my entire life and have had nothing but great experiences. She is very patient and friendly and I can’t wait to go back!

Dr. Backhaus is a wonderful dentist who is not only extraordinarily competent and knowledgeable, but gentle, caring and compassionate. My 2 daughters have received excellent care from her and her office staff for the past 10 years. I highly recommend her!

I have nothing but high marks & praise for this office. They have been treating my adult mentally challenged daughter, for who has a severe communication handicap, for over 10 years. She can be fearful & difficult but the staff continues to amaze me with their kindness & patience with her. Cant thank them enough!

The doctor is decent but office staff is awful and mannerless. Very pushy and non-cooperative and barely showed any caring for my child. When we called for information on a past treatment, office staff first flat out said that treatment was never done there, and after repeated requests, she looked up and confirmed that we were correct. Then Instead of hearing the issue related to the treatment she kept pushing for other treatments. Finally when she listened to us, she was tremendously noncooperative even with something as simple as an appointment for an x-ray. We expressed our dissatisfaction with the timing and she told us she can’t give any other time for my 5 yr old because of his behavior. When we pressed for explanation, she said that my child is very vocal and uncooperative. Not true. He had 5 treatments done at your office and he was extremely friendly except for the last session when he was given injection in his gum without numbing it first with the gel and bled quite a bit. What else do you expect from a 5 yr old child? I can clearly remember another day when my child had injections in his gum, all ready for treatment and your compressor broke. He remained on the chair for about 45 minutes with retainer In his mouth and did not make any fuss. The procedure was eventually called off because of the broken compressor.If this child is not cooperative, who is?I heard the whole conversation on speakerphone and finally took over and told the lady that if you can not deal with a 5 yr old child with compassion then you are in the wrong business and should be fixing dental issues for adults instead of kids. I am not sending my kid to your office again.I would not recommend this office to anyone. Good treatment can not exist without compassion, respect and manners. Doctor should look into office staff and how they handle patients needs.
