Dr. Powell, Wendy, and the rest of the front desk team have been incredible! They have been friendly, helpful, communicative, and have largely started appointments close to the scheduled time even at the end of the day. Its clear that Dr. Powell knows what shes doing, and her team has been excellent in making sure I get the right contacts, especially as a first time wearer. Highly recommend!

Ive been a patient here for many years, first with Dr. Greene and then with Dr. Powell, and will hopefully be returning for many more. Ive always received outstanding professional care, and always with a friendly and personal touch. Everyone who has ever worked here has been highly dedicated and more than competent. The office keeps up with evolving technology, meaning (among other things) no more annoying dilation!

Staff so friendly and professional. My favorite option is the eye ex-ray which makes the whole puff of air in your eye go away as well as track changes in your eye health for easy reference.

I just recently moved to the state of North Carolina from ohio so i know nothing about this state as of yet. I had an appointment with Dr. Jennifer Powell on the 31st of August and let me just say that Dr. Jennifer Powell is thee best doctor that i have ever had the privilege of meeting. Actually everyone in the office was so very friendly and down to earth, it was a great experience. Although i will be residing in Yanceyville and was told tjat thete is an eue doctor in that area, i really would like to keep Dr. Jennifer Powell as my primary eye doctor because she is the coolest ever 😊hopefully upon going to my appointment to see the low vision specialist Dr. Greene, i pray that he goves me the wonderful news that i am a good candidate for the bioptic driving program that is my dream. I look forward to meeting Dr. Greene as well. Overall i really do love this place and would not want to go anywhere else for my optical needs.

Seriously love this place. Dr. Powell is awesome. She is quick and efficient without feeling rushed. She takes time to get to know you on a personal level. Something not required when looking at someone eyes. But it makes everything feel so relaxed. The staff is warm, and welcoming. They love to see you in feeling your best in glasses, possibly more than you do! Worth every penny.

She and her staff are professional to the core, but always ready to inject humor and fun into the conversation if you, as I do, like.

Had a weird problem where my eye wouldnt stop watering but by the time I had my appointment it had resolved itself. I went to be seen just in case something was wrong and the Doctor was so very friendly, helpful, and kind. She even made a point not to charge me for a full exam because it was such a quick and easy appointment. Highly recommend this practice as it is clear the Doctor cares about her patients health care and it is her number one priority.

I love Academy Eye and have been going for over 6 years. Dr. Powell is nice, comforting, and fun. They have petite frames which means I dont have kid glasses anymore and there are always a ton of great frame choices too.

Absolutely fantastic experience. I had been going to LensCrafters for years, and always felt like they didnt have the time for me and my unique needs. Honestly, I cant say enough about how pleasant this visit was! The space is bright and calming with stunning photography in the lobby. The front desk support was kind, helpful, fun, informative, and warm (and HILARIOUS!!!). The exam spaces are equally as calming, which I said was like an opto-spa! And then there was Dr. Powell herself--authentic, intelligent, witty, attentive, and responsive dont quite cut it, but Ill start there! She was a great listener, truly connecting on a medical and personal level, and she was really really funny! Great energy all around. My husband first went to the office and said how cool Dr. Powell was. I thought to myself, how cool could a trip to the eye doctor be??? Now I know first hand! I wish all of my interactions with the medical profession were like this!!!!!!!!!!!! 5 stars!

Dr. Greene is the most caring and level-headed eye doctor that Ive ever had the pleasure of seeing (Ive been going to eye doctors for over 22 years). He explains things in details and helps you understand everything about your eyes and your eye health. His office is smaller than most, but thankfully its like a hidden gem in that its never packed and appointments are not difficult to schedule. The staff is mostly friendly, and the parking is extremely convenient

Our entire family has been coming here since 2007 starting with Dr. Greene, and now with Dr. Powell. They know each of the patients very well and provide exceptional care from the front desk to the physician. They take their time. We cant recommend them more highly!

I cant say enough great things about Dr. Jennifer Powell and her office staff. I am always greeted professionally and appointments pretty much run on time as they realize my time is as valuable as theirs. Dr. Powell always answers all of my concerns and questions spending whatever time it takes. I feel she truly cares and respects me as a patient and I will continue to go to her. I just got my first progressive lens glasses and felt Mack was very helpful with explaining this change. Dr. Powell asked questions to know where I needed to see small print...and it worked! If you need a caring, pleasant optometrist, she is the one!

Have been coming here for 24 years! Marcus (I am terrible with names, but Im pretty sure thats it!) helped me pick out my first pair of glasses when I was in kindergarten and he is still there, and Sharon at the front desk has also been there for as long as I can remember. That tells me this is truly a great company that must treat their employees as well as they treat their patients. Dr. Powell is also wonderful, very laid back and helpful! When I lived in Wilmington for college and a couple years after, I would drive back to Durham for my yearly eye appointments. Wouldnt go anywhere else!

We saw Dr. Henry Greene, Not Dr. Powell. He is a meticulous genius with persons with vision cuts.

The wind blew something into my eye and I couldnt get it out because it was stuck under my lid. In straight panic I drove to Dr. Powells clinic and within 30 seconds I was back in her exam room and she took it out!! Couldnt thank her and her staff enough!! They have taken such great care of me!
