Hello Bill, I received my glasses yesterday and have played a few hours to see how I like them. The bottom line is that they have exceeded my expectations they are so light I almost don’t know that I have them on. They only required a few small adjustments for fit which was very easy and the vision up close and at the end of my 9 foot table is perfect. I am now able to see exactly where I need to hit as compared my best guess at a fuzzy target. There is no frame across the top which made my other glasses useless. I know you’ve heard this before but I should’ve done this a few years ago. I never paid more than $100 dollars for glasses before and just got the minimum from places like America’s Best so to me your glasses looked very expensive. But understanding the custom nature and state of the art materials and processes to make them along with my vision problem and love for the game I thought I would take a chance. I’m glad I did I really love these glasses and believe they are worth every penny thank you for your skill and this product. It was great being able to speak to you as well it also gave me confidence in this product. I would love a backup but can’t go for one now I realize I really need glasses to play now so if I damage them no pool until they get repaired or replaced. Thank you and your team very much. My first words after trying on my glasses for the first time was, WOW! I could actually see everything around me in crystal clear focus. The adjustments made to my prescription was spot on; allowing me to maintain focus the entire length of the table. The glasses are well made and worth every penny. There is nothing to distract the eye and plenty of lens to aim through. I have found zero light refraction and haven’t had to adjust my aim or stroke in any way. I have a strong eye prescription (-11 diopters), so it is challenging to make billiards glasses in over-sized shapes and keep the thickness of the lenses reasonable. In my case, the process to get to the end product took three attempts. On each attempt, Bill took my feedback over email and phone, and he insisted on getting things right. As he said, failure is not an option. On each attempt, the glasses were made quickly and sent back via mail, so overall, the whole process took just a few weeks.The end result is a totally customized design for what I need. In my case, the glasses are more of a standard shape, but the lenses are tall enough, so that I dont see the top edge, when Im down on the shot.They are very comfortable and light-weight. The temples wrap around the ears, so they dont shift on me. I dont have any issues seeing the top of the frames when Im down on the shot as an extra 2 mm height over my old billiard glasses was added. The other big improvement is the prescription update. My old glasses were probably 7 years old, so the update in power makes seeing the ball edges on long cut shots possible, whereas before I just had to guess at the aiming line.Its a joy to wear these glasses. Bill and his staff are very friendly and easy to work with. I highly recommend working with him.

Cannot say enough great things about my 4 year old daughters glasses! We always get compliments, including adults noting that they would get the same rimless frames for themselves. I honestly can not say enough good things about my experience with William J Curran and Son Optician. My daughter Jovi has a very strong prescription which meant very thick and heavy glasses. The glasses would not sit well on her face due to the weight of them so she was constantly looking over them and not through them. I offered to pay extra to get her lenses condensed but I was told that that was not an option for her by all the glasses providers in my area. That’s when I began my look online and was lucky to come across William J Curran and Son optician. The customer service was amazing, both Bill and Mike took the time to listen to my questions and concerns and to explain what they had to offer. What was even better was the quality of the glasses! I have been taking my son to William J. Curran & Sons Opticians since he was 6 months old. They are so welcoming and helpful. We glad that we found William Curran Optician. The staff is knowledgeable, and Mr. William Curran is very patient with kids. There is a wide variety of selection on eyewear. After choosing a frame we had the glasses handcrafted and a couple of days later we got a call to pick them up,that was very fast compare to our previous optician. The only inconvenience is about the location which makes it difficult to get out of the front parking especially when some drivers wont let you back out of the parking spot. 20 years removed from billiards, I started playing again but, with glasses. Wearing regular glasses restricted my vision when looking over them and, sacrificed body position when raising my head high enough to see through them. This would bring my chin position off of the cue with mixed and inconsistent results. These billiard glasses allow me to have my chin on the cue looking down my target line for my best accuracy and stroke with clear vision at the same time. A very wise investment in my game. Highly reccomend!

I recently purchased my son rimless glasses from William J Curran and Son Opticians, and service as well as the glasses were excellent. I just think over the years all the money I have wasted on glasses that just werent right for my son and all the time I wasted trying to get a toddler/young boy to get fitted for glasses. When I first started getting serious about pool naturally I had to address my eyesight issue. My first and cheap answer was purchasing generic billiards eye wear. These did serve a purpose at the time but my eyesight just felt off. I decided to take the leap and get a custom pair. Granted these billiards glasses do not come cheap (depending on your budget), but quality never does. I must say that if you are looking for top notch service with quality eye wear, Mr. Curran will not disappoint.. Finally an answer to my quest for the perfect eye-ware for playing pocket billiards. I have been playing pool since I was very young and it wasnt until I reached my 50s when my vision had degraded to the point of needing glasses. My normal glasses have been giving me a fit for the last decade due to the fact that when I am down low in a shooting position, the rim of my glasses would always obstruct my aim. I purchased billiard glasses from Curran & Sons Opticians. I have worn the glasses for 5 hours now playing pool. These replace a standard set of glasses I have used for 4 years. These new glasses from Curran are a significant improvement. No frame to distract my shots when I set up. The new glasses are extremely lite weight and fit very comfortably. In general they allow for significantly improved concentration when playing pool. The service was outstanding which included a phone call from Bill Curran reviewing the order details. Glasses arrived just as described on their website. Included were 2 bottles of cleaning fluid and 2 cleaning cloths. I am very pleased with this decision in choosing Curran Optical and using their website.

The glasses are not inexpensive but they are not totally outrageous in price either when you see what you end up with. They are absolutely worth it if you wear glasses to shoot pool. I dont know how I could be happier with the glasses I received. No longer do I have to turn my regular glasses upside down to see the pool balls and the only complaint I have is that now I cant use not being able to see well as an excuse when I miss a shot. I have been struggling to shoot pool with contacts and glasses. With my everyday glasses my natural sight is above the frame. To make myself look through the lenses I have to jack my neck back in a uncomfortable position and squint my nose. Thought contacts would be the fix. WRONG!! I have 4 year old quadruplets, and 3 of them needed glasses. I am an amateur Poolplayer and I love the game. Recently because Im 62, I have had issue with seeing clearly across the table . I had my regular glasses and would be looking over the top of them across table . It was a blur. I thought the only way to deal with this issue was to compensate for my bad eye site. What did I do ? I would try to take stripes all the time. Why ? I could see the angles better where to hit the object ball. On a solid it was virtually impossible for me. We have been customers for 5 years and would never go anywhere else. The rimless glasses were a a true blessing for our 3 year old daughter, Anna. I recently bought a pair of pool glasses. I have worn glasses since age 16, am an anesthesiologist working in an eye clinic, so I know a bit about vision. The workmanship and lenses in these glasses are first class. I was a bit hesitant about buying them from 3000mi away, but the fit is good, and the optical centers are correct. They are so light and good, that you wont even know you have them on when you are playing. So impressed with the rimless eyewear that Bill Curran provided for my one year old daughter. I was recommended to him through a Facebook group, and after a very easy online form process, the staff at William Curran & Sons was extremely quick to respond. They made the ordering process super easy, and provided customized lenses that I was able to view and approve through a superimposed image. After receiving our eyewear exactly one week later via USPS, we sent some pictures of our cutie in her new glasses over to Dr. Curran, and he called to talk us through shaping her frames and to discuss fit and forming within an hour! What amazing customer service, and an amazing product! They are adorable, light, easy to work with, and the rimless look is really great because it doesn’t cover a small child’s face like normal frames do. We LOVE our William Curran lenses and highly recommend to anyone who has a new little one in glasses, or if you’re interested in some customized lenses for yourself!

I went here for my son. I wasnt acknowledged for 10 minutes. The guy that approached us acted like a bad car salesman. Selection was non existent, as all the kids in the 3 albums they had, had the same pair of glasses on. It wasnt what we were looking for and after saying that they insisted that if we went somewhere else my son would look geeky for the school year.
