My experience with Steps was exceptional. The program was extremely effective in holding me accountable. The staff is amazing and did an incredible job at encouraging me to stretch and get out of my comfort zone. Digging deep into my history and identifying my character defects was not easy and there were times that their methods were difficult and uncomfortable. However, they were ALL very skilled and experienced. Even if at times I didnt agree, hindsight was always 20/20 and their way always worked. When I arrived there my way hadnt been working for a long time. Im clean today because of Steps and the work they strongly encouraged. They assisted me in building a foundation in my new life and constantly remind me to stay open. To this day I use the tools I learned in Steps. Thank you for saving my life and the life of countless others.

I am currently in day treatment at steps and I love the program but the food they are serving is REDICULOUS. Jail has better food. They are serving us all the food that is left over from Annie’s House and combining it to make some sort of “must go” casserole that is absolutely disgusting today it had pork curry strawberries sweet potatoes and various other leftover vegetables and fruits all combined together in the most disgusting food it tasted like throw up and smelled like throw up as well. Steps please change this immediately and let the cook at Annie’s House know he needs to find a new job.! I am changing to this to a 2 star review, only because Alex the Clinical Director at Steps deserves 5 stars to the moon and back! She quickly fixed this food situation by going to Chick Fil A and getting everyone chicken sandwiches and fries. So 5 stars for Alex and 1 star for the chef at Annie’s house or whoever is cooking the food for Steps Draper. Thanks again Alex.P.S. THIS IS A FOOD REVIEW ONLY!!! Not a review for the program in whole. STEPS SAVED MY LIFE!I highly recommended them.

This place is a joke. I didn’t want to make any rash opinions of this program so I waited out and completed it to the end. There is an ongoing cycle at this recovery center. No one can seem to comple it but it’s never Steps problem. The success rate is extremely low and the price is outrageous. The staff does not do their job and will blame the client repeatedly because of their own pride and egos. My personal experience, I would not recommend this program for anybody let alone someone that I cared about. They are not supportive, they do not care, and they do not try to help. All they care about is money. I went through this program entirely, was in it for almost a year and throughout that entire experience, not one other person that I went to residential, day treatment or IOP with completed the program. I was the only one who ever made it that far. Clients get discouraged and feel a lack of support. Because Steps recovery Center won’t look at themselves and the way that they can direct treatment. every single person I have known in this program has relapsed. Every single person. I would look elsewhere for treatment.

Great therapists and recovery environment, this review is mainly in regards to the food. The food is bad at best. For how much our insurance is billed to be in day treatment you would expect something better. All the residents complain of the food! I’m hoping this sparks a change.

I WOULD NOT recommend this place to ANYONE. They are cruel and treat their patients as if they are just another number. I for sure would not recommend the sober living house there for males in Draper. My brother recently left and the house manager Chris is awful, borderline verbally and emotionally abusive. The director of steps seriously needs to take a closer look at Chris and see how mean he is to the men who live there. My brother called me crying several nights out of fear and I could hear Chris yelling in the background.

The therapists and staff are amazing. I can’t express how grateful I am for my family members and friends that received treatment. They also gave me advice about pursuing my own recovery as a codependent. My life has changed for the better because of them.

After 3 months attending Day Treatment, the Clinical Director, Alex, forgot to do my coin out. This is a highly-important certificate of completion, and after all my hard work, I felt dismissed and unimportant. Instead of celebrating this achievement, Alex focused on ridiculous drama happening in the group during the hour the coin-out was supposed to happen, and simply handed me the coin when everyone was leaving for the day. I left feeling like all my work was for naught.Overall, I am immensely grateful to Steps for saving my life! I had an incredible experience at Residential, but I oftentimes felt like Day Treatment was unorganized and unprofessional. There were many times where groups felt off-the-cuff (unplanned, strange writing prompts, etc.) or we just watched a movie. Processing groups were sometimes made to be more dramatic than necessary, and people were not always given the opportunity to process through what they needed to because the focus was on who was seeing whom, what car people drove, or who went hot-tubbing over the weekend.I have to give massive accolades to the Rec Therapy department! Pam and Shea are fantastic at their jobs, and are always pushing us to do our best and try new things. They are compassionate and empathetic, and were a HUGE part of my healing and finding my self-worth again.Alex, the Clinical Director, was my therapist, and - while I like her as a person - I feel that she prefers either blowing things out of proportion or sweeping over key issues. For instance, one of my biggest focuses in Day Treatment was fostering my independence, and going forward with my divorce, and she told me, “People get divorced all the time; it’s not that hard,” and “People in worse situations than you get divorced all the time.” Again, I felt dismissed, and I no longer trusted her with my Clinical needs and emotional safety because of how flippant she was. When I told her this, she said she was trying not to “personalize” what I just said. I shouldn’t have to worry about that when I’m advocating for my needs with my therapist! Finally, I was without 3 key medications for a week because I could not get a response from the medical team. All they needed to do was call in the refills, but that took a week, so I was without antidepressants, anti anxiety meds, and another medication that I needed. As a result, I suffered withdrawal symptoms without medical support.

I went to IOP here and it was a Complete waste of almost three months of my time. Had three sessions with a therapist the whole time I was there. Wasn’t explained the full rules was barely explained anything besides “trust me” before I signed papers I’m so upset I wasted so much time here I feel completely failed and uncared about with steps I wouldn’t recommend them at all they don’t have the staff needed for the amount of clients they have.

Since graduating Steps Recovery inpatient in Payson, Ive been so very blessed in my Recovery with Steps Recovery Day Treatment Draper outpatient. With amazing supportive staff, Blair n Dave as case manager assisting with guided tools of recovery n support in our daily lives in early recovery. Thru Recreational therapy Ive gain such empowerment, guidance, wisdom, willingness, n strength in doing such awesome activities but also being able to know n motivated to do hard things, with such supportive, driven, inspiring facilitators as Pam, Shea, Laura n McKayla these women have gotten up close n personal with each n everyone of us individually and as a group in whole. Ive been so privileged to be under the therapeutic advisory of Alex and Amy who guide me with such kind, loving, compassionate, thorough and assertiveness that illuminate the coping skills that I need in my recovery n supported my family when they dont understand my recovery. The office staff equally shows me such love and compassion when greeted by them individually constantly checking in with me n having insightful conversations with me Sierra as a receptionist Josh as Admin n Drew, Julie, n Mitch may not be direct staff of Day TX but have been vital with their presence in the office in Draper. Lastly the Steps recovery womens Sober Living house is so beautiful n has been such a blessing to live in an upscale, clean, well manicured, orderly organized home well on my journey of recovery. Alyssa the house manager works so well with us recovery women with balancing full time school, employment n living in house with a house full of recovery women, Ive seen has not been an easy task for her but she handles us with such kindness, love and compassion. The house director although managing multiple houses filled with addicts Mike Long is very thorough n assertive but so loving n caring of all our needs as residence but also as maintenance of our sobriety home its been such a delightful, structured, blessed place to live since being here. Today Im almost 5 months clean n going strong the standard that is upheld among us in treatment n in our sober living home is truly Godsend for me n has been such a blessing for myself n my family. I love EVERYTHING about Steps Recovery Draper Day Treatment n Sober Living my sobriety, recovery, experience, strength n hope that Ive gained thru every aspect of this program has been truly unchanging, uncanning, n remarkable. Today I can do hard things, today Im grateful for life in recovery n today I am who I am with all the love, support, assistance, guidance, help n really almost everything I need in my life of recovery because of my family, fellow addicts in recovery n most importantly because of Steps Recovery Draper Day Treatment Outpatient.
