We are on vacation and needed to get our kids a sick visit and everyone there was so friendly. It was also quick, got us in and out in no time. Its an absolutely great place.

I am forever grateful for Emily Ingram, NP. She found my cancer and I am forever grateful. I had gone to my pcp and he just ignored me. Emily listened and ordered labs and etc. She worked me up and found the problem. I am truly thankful for her as she has true compassion and really cares for her patients. It is hard to find people like this in an urgent care!! Thank you again!!!

I strongly recommend AFC in Dothan. Despite, the long line out their door prior to opening, the long hours and I’m sure missed lunches - their bed side manner has been amazing. I’m sure it can become redundant when a large percentage of the patients they are seeing are all being seen for the same reason but, even still they take their time to listen & don’t just test you and send you on your way. Clearly Phenomenal customer service is an expected standard that they are held accountable for as everyone demonstrates it from the front desk to medical staff.

Excellent service from all staff and doctor was awesome long wait but worth it and when I got to new drugstore they had prescriptions ready and had my insurance information which was a surprise and very appreciated by me never had that kind of quick service. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Not happy that I tested positive covid test but proud I have a awesome crew behind me to beat this. Thanks to all of you

This place is anything but Urgent. Airlines require a covid test within 3 days of flight yet you can barely get any appointment for a test. Since this place is the only place that will give a same day test. Yet I arrive 30 minutes early to an appointment and fill out all necessary paper work including checking in. Only to be waiting in my car hours later just for a test. Not even to be seen by a doctor. My childrens pediatric got theirs done within minutes.

I was in and out quickly. Everyone was super kind and efficient. I got a steroid shot for a sinus infection and didn’t even feel the shot it was done so wells I highly recommend this location. Abby and Dr Thompson are phenomenal and the staff are all incredibly kind.

Everytime I come the staff is always wonderful. I am very thankful to have such smiling faces when I am feeling so sick and people that go above and beyond. ❤❤❤

I had a long wait time BUT the staff was very helpful. A lot of patients today so they moved through the process as quick as possible. Entire staff was very nice!!!

I have gone to this practice for five years when I cannot get an appointment quickly with regular physician. I had the worst experience than I have ever had at any provider. Walked in to be tested for Covid. So of course waited in my car as expected. No issue there. They are just protecting others. The problem I had was once I was called on I waited in the clinic for two and a half hours just to do a rapid testing. My results were positive. The issue I have is that after being diagnosed the provider told me to use over the counter flu medication and drink liquids and of course quarantine. I have no underlying health problems as well. So I don’t understand the reasoning. PLEASE READ before you Waite your time and money here!! Now I am finally at my regular physician two days later being seen. Don’t go here

My Lab Girl Jennifer was the best today. She tested me for covid with extreme urgency and a undeniable caring heart! Just made my day.

I live in a rural area so I have to travel for many services. I called this place telling them my need and they told me they were accepting walk ins. I get there and they have a sign on the door saying they weren’t taking any more people. How hard is it to say, “ma’am we are really busy and I really recommend you to come in the morning instead”?? I wasted my time & gas driving to this place. Call and have a consent signed over the phone saying you will be accepted. Ha.

Before becoming a coworker here, I have always loved coming here and getting great service and help when needed in a timely manner. Now as a coworker here, I strive to bring that to the table with the patients and make sure their care is always great.

I called before driving there I live over 20 miles from this location and the receptionist stated they were a walk-in clinic and I would not need an appointment. I get there where they have a sign on the door that states STOP let the receptionist know if you think you have COVID, so I call and the lady says oh its fine just come inside and check in. I go in to check in and she tells me I have to come back at 3:20 for my APPOINTMENT time..its not even 11am. They allow me to sit in their waiting room for HOURS. There is no cleaning happening and when its finally time to check in for my appointment Im handed a tablet and a paper to fill out with pens that havent been sanitized and the tablet looks like it hasnt been wiped off ever. I go to the back where Im asked if Im sure I want the covid test..thats the whole reason Im there. My test comes back positive and they make me leave out their back door like now its an issue for me to be anywhere near the other patients. To be a medical service provider and a testing site this location is far from being up to par.

Fantastic Dr and great staff. Clean environment. I am very pleased with my experience for school related immunizations and physical.

These people are testing one person after another for COVID and taking no precautions to prevent spreading it. They hand the same tablet to one patient after another to fill out forms that has dirty fingerprints all over it. They pass everyone the same pens and clipboards with no sanitation measures in place. This place is a dirty cesspool of germs. If you dont have it when you go here you will when you leave. Dr. Thompson has very bad manners and does not care about seeing what is actually going in if a patient is sick and does not have COVID. IUnless you are trying to get sick avoid this place.

Super great staff & super clean facility! No one likes the doctor but when the people who you’re being vulnerable in front of are great & caring it makes the visit much better!

Called a week in advance to make an appointment for the covid test. I was told it is a walk in first come first serve. Was the first person in the door and the first to fill out paperwork. Had seven people get called back for the test before me. The staff said they did not know how the process works. Meanwhile members of staff not wearing maks as well people were not being told to wear masks.

If its Sunday or a Holiday and there are no other options available in Dothan, get in your car and drive as far as it takes to find another medical facility rather than going to this place. Dr. Travis Thompson is a joke. An MD who has no idea how to even ATTEMPT to communicate with a sick, anxious child that has autism. He was rude and extremely condescending. Instead of answering my sons questions he berated him. Instead of addressing concerns he belittled a sick, autistic child. Go somewhere else.

The people in the office were super nice and helpful. However, I was charged for the same service 3 times and after 3 days of trying no one will return my calls or emails. The one person at their cooperate office I did talk to was rude and unhelpful at all. They say they put patients first, however this clearly is just a saying

Was told I had to pay $20 co pay for covid test even though my insurance company(bcbs)states no co pay for covid testing. I paid receptionist $20 then she asked for my debit card to put on file. I wasn’t feeling well and wasn’t thinking at the time. I will be calling my insurance company to report this place. The NP was great, but the front desk receptionist was horrible.

The staff is really friendly, everytime I’ve come here I have been in and out! AFC Dothan is amazing and have the best staff around!

While at registration, the person at the desk coughed into her hand and then handled my cards! Also while at registration a woman came in for a covid test and they had her sit in the waiting room with EVERYONE ELSE! I will NOT be back!

I have been waiting for a solid week for afdc to make sure i get a medication they say that only a mail order pharmacy can fill. I called them wed and fri and today and i was told it would be fixed. Hours later nothing still has been done. I call and the medical staff does not answer the phone and if they do answer they pick it up and immediately hang it up.

I ended up coming here because my PCP doesnt do Covid testing (which was negative). Everyone was polite and professional. Dr. Thompson, took his time and listened to me even sharing a story of his own. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because my meds werent sent to my pharmacy and I couldnt reach the office by phone and had to make a trip back over to pick up a handwritten RX. Otherwise, in an urgent situation, I would definitely use them again.

Afc is so wonderful! The comment from April smith is I’m sure of just someone complaining for something that was out of afc control aka it was a mail order prescription.. which I know from being in the med field myself that once a rx is sent mail order it is out of that clinics control as you have to be patient for it to come in or to be approved by your insurance.. mabye start commenting on how good you were treated at a clinic and not something out of afc control or irrelevant.. will always use AFC!!

Any time Im sick I go there, they are so helpful. Yes sometimes it is slow but they can only help so many people at one time. They are so kind and have thoroughly helped me Everytime!!! I would absolutely recommend this place. Ive never had one person in the 5 years Ive been going there ever be rude or anything but helpful and kind. Some doctors/nurses have zero bedside manner, they hardly listen and you feel judged... Its the absolute opposite with this place, I dont have a primary care doctor simply because I love going to this place. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ So thankful for providers that take their time and make you feel comfortable!!!

DONT EVER GO HERE. They wont run your insurance correctly or even run it at all and when you try and contact them, no one answers. This place is also running a scam for covid testing. Testing is free at CVS, walgreens, and walmart go there because AFC is charging patients for it.

I loved everything about A.F. urgent care!!! The best urgent care I’ve ever been to. I was very impressed with Dr. Thompson who was very caring, thorough, professional, knowledgeable, and took his time with me, conducted necessary tests and lab work, and helped me with securing the next step in getting a specialist. I would like to make Dr. Thompson my primary care physician. He’s the kind of doctor you dream to have. Bianca and Bee, who are his nurses and tech were wonderful, friendly, and caring. Everything is very clean and covid 19 safety measures taken.

30 people are ahead of me. This clinic is always slow as hell, but the ER would probably be slower. Which is where I was recommended to go when I told them I was in pain and my stuff would probably take very little time. I’m probably the only one in that waiting room in pain and to be honest I know what I probably have and just need a test and some medication. In other states you could just take this same test at home and get medicine from the local pharmacy. Really don’t even need to see the doctor. Just need medicine and to get home. I hate this place.

Waited about 5 hours, upon going inside to check my wait they said something like We wrote your number down wrong. I know this is a lie because 1. the lady who wrote it down verbally verified she wrote it down correctly 2. I could see my number on the list written correctly. Of course they refuse to correct this mistake by putting me where I should be in line or moving me up the queue. Stupidity and incompotenency rule here, will avoid in the future.

I had to make another visit to AFC this Saturday morning due to foot Issue. The Staff member upfront was very friendly. But the Dr. and staff in back was even better. If you have to get a shot you want Ms. McKinney she knows her business.This is that place to go for service within and hour.Keep you the great service.Dan Blackman

I waited an appalling amount of time to be seen by a doctor, close to 5 hours. When they first called me back in to retrieve my Id and insurance card after an hour they told me there were 6 more people in front of me, after originally telling me there were 20 ahead of me. And then after another hours time I went in to see how much longer and they said there were 9 people ahead of me. I was extremely ill, unlike most of the people there who I presume were getting rapid covid tests, and was extremely disheartened to hear this. The girl at the front didn’t care and chalked it up to a mistake being made earlier, wasn’t apologetic or anything. I hated them in that moment. The nurses and doctor were actually very nice and got the job done, but the wait is unacceptable. I DO NOT recommend this place.

Called to get a COVID19 test just as a precaution before visiting family for Thanksgiving and they do not test patients in their cars. This method seems much safer as that leads to less foot traffic in the office. I will not be going to AFC Dothan!

I will state that the people are very courteous, friendly, and inviting!! As prompt as possible, which is a good thing during 2020!! If the need arises, I will be sure to visit them again! Bed side manner was very comforting, as well!!

Have been trying for over 3 hours to get someone on the phone and when I do I get transferred to the back where no one else answer the phone. Just trying to my prescription transferred to another pharmacy. I waited for 5 hours on Christmas Eve to been seen. They need management and phone nurse.

I wouldnt even give this place a 1 star, it just wont let me post ithout it. I would NEVER go here again. They gave me a prescription at a dosage for a child not an adult. I waited 5 hours just to be seen. The front desk lady was rude and acted like she hated her job and had no compassion or just thought of others. I paid them to tell them what I had. I had to tell them 3 times what I was allergic to. They dont take any kind of history. DO NOT GO HERE!

Ms. Olive was remarkable and treated me with great care. I left feeling like I was on the right track for treatment. Additionally, my nurse, Racheal, was attentive and supportive. You really have a fantastic staff. I want to commend you on the quality members of your team. I cant recall a better experience anywhere. From the front desk women who greeted me with a smile, to your practitioners, I couldnt have asked for better. I will absolutely be recommending your facility.

I called 15 minutes before closing because my daughter had injured her arm. They told me to come on and they would see her. When we got there EVERYONE was so nice to us. We were not rushed and they didnt act like we were imposing. We received wonderful treatment!

This office is so professional and patient oriented. From the time you walk in, through the intake and seeing the physician, you are made to feel comfortable and welcomed. Its usually difficult to get through to my primary care physicians office, but Im so fortunate to have this facility as a contingency. Excellent and quality care.

As Doctor offices go, the waiting area was very clean and spacious, the receptionist was most friendly and helpful, the wait time was excellent in that there was hardly any before I was taken back to see the doctor, and I did not have to wait very long at all for that to occur. I was feeling much better very soon after getting a shot and a script for anti-biotics. I encountered a very nice experience from American Family Care!!

INSURANCE FRAUD: we are covered by Cigna insurance company. American Family Care has a contract with them @ they do accept our insurance. Our insurance requires my husband @ I to have a yearly physical, no out of pocket cost. On August 2019 I had this same physical done at this facility @ no charge. Today July 22, 2020 they are demanding $50 per patient for a the same physical what a rip off. My insurance agent has stated that this is against their contract @ will be reported. If u find that u are having the same problem u can go 2 All South Urgent Care here in Dothan @ u wont have 2 come out of pocket. What a shame Ive used AFC for years. But Im taking my health care needs to the above mentioned facility.

I am always pleased with going to AFC. It is quick, even when you just walk in. They don’t rush through the appointment, they are very thorough and listen to you. I love that they call the next day to check on you. It’s the little details that show they genuinely care and you are not just another patient!

Everyone was exceptional!!!! Receptionist very friendly, and I didnt have to wait long. The medical assistant was so personable and made me feel at ease. The nurse practitioner (last name Olive)was so calm and caring. If I remembered names they would all get personal ratings of 10. When you dont feel good, its nice to feel like you are not just a number. What is most impressive too is that I could hear the staff talking to each other with such genuine courtesy. No burned out employees there! Its evident that they love their jobs and calling!!!

COMPLETE NEGLIGENCE!! I was treated very poorly at this urgent care. I went in feeling very ill (Fever, Sore throat, cough, nausea, stuffy nose) and wanted to get tested for Covid. The wait was over 45 minutes, then once I finally got inside the room, my vitals were taken I was swabbed for covid (inaccurately, I may add). After being swabbed, I waited about 30-45 minutes for my results which the nurse stated was negative. I was provided with some papers, one of which had random prescriptions. When I asked about them, the nurse gave odd explanations as to why it would still work. I noticed that the vitals and my symptoms were also documented incorrectly as I had a fever that was over 100 degrees. When I mentioned my concerns, I was completely dismissed and disregarded. Once I got to the pharmacy, I realized that I was provided a completely different patient’s paperwork. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE and a major HIPPA violation. I went back to this urgent care to get things situated, and the staff gave me nasty attitudes and not one person cared or provided an apology for this negligence. The staff is irresponsible and I don’t recommend this place at all. I will also be suing.

Neglected! Had good experience Dec 2019 but not now. I called repeatedly every other day for 10 days telling them the medication they gave me did not work and I need more help and they kept putting me off. Lets just wait and see, lets just give it one more day, etc. They were only intrested in finding out whether or not I had Covid19. Went to a different doctor yesterday and got 4 badly needed medications that American Family denied me. Some oath!

Its not very Urgent. Waited two hours, and had to leave because of other appointments. Im looking elsewhere.

Came in for a simple sports physical for my daughter at 11:40. Everything progressed normally and they didnt seem busy with just two other parties in the waiting room. We were shown back and put in a room waiting for the doctor, two hours after we came in we were ready to give up when a nurse finally came in to apologize for the wait, I asked her how much longer it was going to be as we had been there for two hours already and were tired of waiting. She said she would find out and be back, but didnt come back. A little before 2pm we gave up and went to the front desk to get our money back and our physical form back. They did refund us and apologize for the wait but this should have been addressed long before a patient walks out.

Rude people and we are still sitting here after five hours for a student physical. This office is just poorly organized and run... we can in at 1230 with 11 ahead of us... apparently this size clinic cannot work 11 people in 5 hours... the doctor just came in and said she was pumping for a new baby... we will never be back.

This is my go to place. They can always see me, are very helpful in taking care of me and polite. I love that they always call to check on you within the next few days to make sure you are okay.

Moving into the Dothan has been a challenge in finding new doctors. I decided to try AFC Urgent Care after work yesterday and was highly impressed. The staff were on top of things and very friendly. i saw Carmen Herring, NP who was very personable and took the time to listen to what all has been going on with me for the last couple of weeks. I was in and out in no time. I highly recommend AFC Urgent Care and I will definitely be back.

When in need of sutures, American Family Care is a preferred option. They are much more affordable and expedient than the ER.Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner, Abby Olive attended to my predicament in a kind and painless manner. I am very thankful to her as well as the very warm and professional staff who work with her.AFC is open longer hours than many urgent care facilities which is quite helpful to the public when in need of medical care.They have earned my greatest respect for all of the aforementioned reasons.

Overall I felt extremely comfortable throughout my experience at American Family Care. I was in a lot of pain at the time. Everyone from the front desk, followed by the check in, and completed with my visit with my nurse practitioner was very pleasant and caring. Owning a small business myself I was impressed how everyone their seemed to be on the same page and perform their task with a positive attitude. It matters.Great Job!!! Thanks for you Help!!!

Visited on Sunday afternoon very sick, estimated a long wait, but quickly got us in 30-45 minutes provided excellent care. I would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone. Even called next day to ask if I was better. Thanks to all staff11-18-2020I have had two visits in three weeks, waits we long but, lines still moved quickly and safely with little to no issues. I have stated many times to get tested for Covid this would be where I recommend to be tested. They have rapid test. I was negative treated me accordingly with the concentrated care needed. They call with courtesy to next day. I’m most appreciative Thank you !

Waited two hours to be seen on a Sunday, which was understandable and I didnt mind too much. The receptionist was great and other staff were friendly. The waiting area was nice. HOWEVER, the whole reason I went there of course was to be evaluated by a doctor. I was seen by Dr. ONeill Culver (who did not even introduce himself when he walked in). He truly spent more time making fun of my last name (unclear why?) than he did examining me or asking me questions. Was in and out within probably a minute. And prescribed antibiotics that were NOT indicated (I did not have any evidence of bacterial infection). The receptionist did say this was the first time that doctor was working there. Very unfortunate and probably one of the worst doctors I have ever seen, which is impressive. If you plan to go here, cross your fingers Dr. Culver isnt working!

I understand that it’s Christmas Eve and “there’s only one doctor on staff” but I checked into this establishment at 12:30. I will be contacting a higher up in regards to the customer service of this business. I highly recommend going to Allsouth across from Walmart. If they were open today, that’s where I would be and I know they would have had me in and out. And guess what? They also have one doctor on staff all the time!!!

Everyone was very kind and helpful. No long wait or hassle. I felt so bad when I got there and everybody seem eager to getting me back to being well. Again thank you much. They even did a personal follow up call to see how I was doing. Thanks.

On July 30, around 3PM, I called AFC to get prescriptuon of hydroxychloroquine for prevension of COVID-19 and one of the front desk said they prescribe the hydroxychloroquine. So I went on July 31, and doctor said she does not prescribe that drug. What they are saying is if you get postive on COVID 19 test, then go to ER. I have not get any test and any symtoms and I explained I am just here to get the hydroxychloroquine for PREVENSION of COVID-19. However, this AFC does not prescribe hydroxychloroquine for any reason. Wasting time and NEVER VISIT.

I went in to AFC yesterday to see if they could see what was going on with my shoulder. Only to be told to take IBUPROFEN!! I informed him that I had been doing that. He then said that it could be bad on your stomach after telling me to take IBUPROFEN ! I was charged $175.00 just to be told to take IBU he did not offer to give me anything non-narcotic or otherwise.Please tell me why I was charged this just to be told to take IBU? Also I find it unprofessional when his sister makes a comment on my Facebook post in reference to my service at AFC.

We got there...filled out paperwork...we’re seen right away! Great experience! Highly recommend for quick service.

Staff was excellent. Friendly, helpful, and accomidating. Honestly tried their best to make it a positive​ experience. We were there little longer than expected once shown back (about 2 hours but have been told by others that isnt normal). However, I understand they had one fill-in doctor for the whole clinic and were trying their best to keep up with patient load. Prices are very reasonable. Walk-ins welcome, and flat rate for those without insurance.

TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED!I went into American Family Care on June 29th for a Covid19 test. Got there early and was out by 8:45 am. I was told it would take 3-5 days to get the results. After 5 days I had received no results nor calls from them. On the 8th day, July 6th, I called and got the I guess theyre backed up at the lab story. Then the girl told me Ill give you the number to the lab and you can call them and find out what the problem is. It would seem to me thats THEIR job not mine. I finally got my results today July 9th at 5:15 pm. I was the one that called them! It was nine days after Id taken the test. The person there had the gall to tell me they tried to call me today. Ive had my phone with me all day and have no record of them calling on my recent calls log. A simple phone call explaining the delay would have eased a lot of my stress.Pretty bad...

You can’t go wrong using the staff here. Very kind and professional. Abby Olive showed great concern and didn’t just “cut me a prescription” without speaking with me first about my options. I was in and out in less than an hour-and on a Saturday morning at that. Many thanks to the entire staff once again.

I was in Dothan for a week for business (I live in another state). I forgot my daily medication and was out of refills. When I called my doctors office to attempt to get a refill (just to hold me over until I got back home) they refused to help me and told me that I needed to go to an urgent care at my current location. Im glad found American Family Care. Everyone who worked there was so pleasant and helpful. Doctor Thompson and his nurse made me feel right at home! I wish they could always be my medical providers, especially since Ill be in search of a new primary care provider! Thank you so much for taking care of me at a time when I couldnt rely on my primary care provider!

The staff was super nice & helpful. When I first went in I was informed of a 2-3hr wait, so I left & came back since my situation wasnt an emergency. Upon returning, I was able to be seen right away. I feel that I received the best care possible for my situation.

Dont waste your time at this joke of a clinic. I came in for a sinus infection and a cough. I waited to be seen for two hours. Once I got to the back they drew my blood for labs. The results came back and they sent me straight to the ER claiming that I needed a blood transfusion because of anemia. Ive never been anemic in my entire life. However, I figured they knew more than I did so I went to hospital. After spending an entire night in the ER waiting room...the hospital said I was completely fine besides having the sinus infection and acute bronchitis. Let me rewind and say that the Nurse Practitioner that I seen at AFC didnt even treat my symptoms that I came in for, the ER doctor had to write me a prescription for antibiotics. I called the next day and spoke with the office manager and all they did was offer me a refund on my $20 copay. GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE!!!

Nice place, but I waited 2 hours to be seen. It might help if they had two people at the front desk to make that a little faster! But once I got in the back everyone was very nice!

Dr. Thompson is phenomenal. Great service and willing to listen. I didnt even mind the wait. Which by the way is shorter than any ER wait! The staff was warm and friendly too! They made my not so good day alot better!

Everytime I have been here its been exceptionally clean. The wait time was also brief. The staff, nurses, ARNPs and Dr. Thompson have also been very caring and kind. Thank you so much for everything you do! I appreciate each of you!

I was very pleased when I got home after my visit to see I had a copy of my vitals, prescription print out, and a detailed receipt for my records. Then today I got a call from my nurse checking on me to make sure I was doing better. I will definately make this my place of service in the future and highly recommend you to friends and family. Thank you for a speedy and thorough evaluation when I was there as well. You made me feel like was an important asset even though I didnt get there until 5:25. Made a big impression!

I was able to see a doctor without a very long wait. Mrs. Ingram was very courteous and professional. I will definitely use her again!

Once again we had to take my 67 year old mentally retarded brother to AFC for coughing and sinus issues. Everyone was very patient with him and treated him great! Its wonderful to have such a caring place to take him when his regular physician is closed. We could not have asked for Better Care! Thank you all so much!
