The staff at Pleasant Valley Nursing Center -all ranks were wonderful with my Dad during his short stay there before he passed. They were truly invested in him and his care. They treated him as an individual, with a name and a story... not just room number ##. They always tried to provide any specific care they could, dietary modifications, extra snacks or chocolate shakes to boost weight. He was clean, dressed and gotten up daily as much as he would tolerate. They really care about the residents sense of pride and dignity for themselves. They always tried to make him and us as his family as comfortable as possible, keeping us involved in his care, not just from a this is what we are doing standpoint, rather they would propose, we think this might be helpful, what do you think, is that something we can do? In addition to the healthcare workers I saw employees of all types, often giving of their own time to do something nice for a resident, even just spending time with them... Theirs is one of the toughest jobs, especially with Covid. These guys are the best.. Thank you for being so caring in such a difficult time in our lives! I highly recommend Pleasant Valley Nursing Center if your loved one needs care whether rehab or LTC.

I currently work at Pleasant Valley as an LPN. I’ve been with this company for a while now , prior as an LNA and Now as a nurse. I can tell you from my own personal experience, that this place truly tries very hard to make a difference for our patients. Whether that difference be Transitioning into Long term care or Rehabilitating to go back to community life. Our staff is dedicated, Empathetic, as well as passionate. I feel that when it comes to the medical field no matter where you are, not everything is going to be perfect, but what in this life really is perfect. Without the imperfections, we would never really appreciate it’s beauty. With that said I hope you too come and be apart of our team here at Pleasant Valley!

The staff at Pleasant Valley is very kind and caring. They are also extremely attentive and have really gone the extra mile during the COVID pandemic to keep patients/residents connected to family. My dad has been in several facilities over the past 2 years and this has been the best experience by far.

Attentive and caring staff. All patients concerns and questions are taken care of and attended to in a timely manner. I have witnessed the time and respect given to residents and patients firsthand as I visit often and all nurses, physical therapists, aides, social workers and all staff members take the time to talk to me and my family member who is a resident about any concerns we may have. I cannot say enough about the high level of care and professionalism at Pleasant Valley, the very many activities for all residents to enjoy and a personal approach by all staff members to all residents and patients

My Mom has been at Pleasant Valley for almost one year. I have only positive things to say. They have exceptional staff from nursing to maintanance to food service. They have plenty of activities for the residents and provide hair cutting and styling on site. Our family feels very comfortable having our Mom stay here.

Ive visited Pleasant Valley Nursing Center numerous times over the past few months since my grandfather became a resident there. While the process of transitioning any family member to a nursing facility can be difficult, the staff at Pleasant Valley have shown my family kindness and compassion throughout the process. Its heartwarming to see staff members genuinely care about my grandfather each time I am there to visit. Thank you to all the staff members who consistently provide comfort and smiles to my grandfather and the rest of my family!

From start to finish, the staffing and all areas, are conducive to health enrichment. Timing is of the essence to all. All of my needs are met including medication management in a precise and timely manner. Wendy, the unit manager, is out of this world! She is my reminder for all aspects of my medical management. Scheduling is done at appropriate times and meals are outstanding and customized to each patient. The entertainment is produced to the age bracket and to everyones liking and enjoyment. Games, like cribbage, are introduced and encouraged. The overall rating relates to quality management.

No no no NEVER! Short of help. Low pay for aids and nurses. Dad fell from high bed and he lie there for hrs on his face before they found him and sent to parkland. One week later he died in 2017. We had to be on top of his care everyday from hygiene to laundry. No one ever there on weekends! Just horrible and nurses just chat away at station and a new aid every day that knows nothing. DONT GO THERE

Nurses and staff at PV are wonderful! It was a daunting experience placing my father in a nursing home, but the compassion he receives by staff has made it a positive experience for him as well as our family. I rest well now, knowing his medical needs are being met, he is in a safe environment, and he is active socially. Thank you to all at Pleasant Valley...

My grandmother suffered there greatly, not a good place to be at all I recommend not putting your family there if you truly care. Another patient shoved her and she is 95 years old, she didnt break anything but the staff took 2 hours before they got her cleaned up and stable. They are luck I didnt sue them.

Your loved ones will not get the care they need here. Mine went there to get better and instead got worse until we needed to remove them. I will not get into details but please, trust me this is no place for your family members or friends.

Update for early 2021- I want to add to this story about how great and caring the staff are here. My moms dementia is more prevelant now and COVID isolation definitely did not help. Everyone at Pleasant Valley has been keeping an eye on my mom and keeping me up to date- both th the good and not so good. Late life stages are a journey with our loved ones and I am so gratefule for the staff at Pleasant Valley.I think that it is just as important to hear about the good things that happen in a Nursing Home. It is emotional and difficult when you have no prior experience putting a parent in a home. We wanted to keep my mom in Derry. Every, and I mean every staff member from the Business Director Kim, to Donna and Mary in Social Services, to every shift nurse, assistant and even the maintenance guy who needed to hook up her TV have been great to work with. We still work and mom was no longer safe at home and ill besides. This staff has worked with us through many trials of trying to adjust someone we love to life in a nursing home. I am there once to twice a week. I see how hard they all work. My mom is no saint to handle. The PT staff have all worked with her, even as her health declines. They work hard to keep her as active and healthy as possible given her condition. No place is perfect, but I still am grateful to have mom at Pleasant Valley because they care and we work together to take care of my mom.

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE THERE UNLESS YOU WANT THE WORST FOR THEM. My grandfather was sent there no choice by his insurance company for rehab after a fall and developed a very nasty stomach infection thats very common. He had complained for 4 DAYS about the severe diarrhea!!!! FOUR DAYS! The next day the doctor sent him home with the diarrhea and we had to bleach the whole house and luckily no one in the family caught it. The next day he went by ambulance in the hospital and ended up in the ICU because he went septic and passed away in March. One night when I was visiting he needed to use the restroom and he was not able to himself so he rang for assistance. He waited 10 minutes until I went to the nursing station to ask for assistance and I had to pry the nurse off her phone to help him. She said she would be there in a minute and I DEMANDED her to help him that instant. By that time he already wet the bed. BECAUSE OF THEIR INCOMPETANCE HE HAS NOW PASSED AWAY AND WE WILL FILE FOR A LAWSUIT.

My mother caught influenza in this nursing home . She suffered more than a week & died because they decided not to send her to the hospital. The care is so poor that the staff want no record of this neglect at the hospital. My mothers name was Claire, she walked the halls for exercise since there is none. As for the food, try it some time, it is horrible.
