I am very happy and satisfied with Dr Jacobs caring , pleasant personality and surgery went great. His staff is awesome too. It was his credentials and the bow tie that sold me. I am 51 years old and have always had extremely poor eyesight - so poor that I was not a candidate for Lasik surgery. I went to a new eye doctor who recommended a procedure called clear lens replacement. I had never heard of that, but was immediately intrigued. I set appointments with two doctors to interview them; my first interview was with Dr. Jacobs. I am the type of person who asks MANY questions, and Dr. Jacobs was very patient with me. I liked Dr. Jacobs so much that I did not even bother with the second interview. I ended up having the surgery, which is the same as cataract surgery except that I did not have cataracts. After 48 years of wearing glasses, I am now able to see 20/25 out of both eyes without corrective lenses! Talk about liberating. I am only a few weeks out of my surgeries, but I have more energy, fewer headaches, and am just tickled that I can see! I cannot wait to go snorkeling and engage in sports without glasses! Throughout the process, Dr. Jacobs was kind, patient, competent, and answered every question. He is super smart, and I would (and have) recommend him without hesitation. 10 out of 10!

Years ago when my brother said he could read the newspaper without glasses following his cataract surgery, I began to look forward to the time when I would need a similar surgery. Meanwhile, I heard about some who had trouble afterward and the idea of having my eye open while the doctor operated on it was downright scary. But Dr. Jacobs said I needed surgery and I was amazed to see how right he was. In the week after my right eye was “done,” while my left eye remained as it was, I often closed on eye and then the other. The difference was dramatic. In my right eye, everything looked brighter, the contrast more distinct, and the focus was sharper. Some people wished me good luck using eye drops at home, but Dr. Jacobs hasn’t required these for a few years. The surgery was as gentle as I could imagine and the results have been transformative. I highly recommend Dr. Jacobs for cataract surgery with corrective lenses.

Jacobs has a good bedside manner. Very helpful, caring, and willing to answer questions. I thought most of his staff was very good, friendly and willing to help with the exception of one who examined my eyes. She has a very bland personality, and made me feel like she was only there to do her job. She was professional in doing her job.Jacobs is reassuring, extremely professional and knows his cataract surgery. Im very very pleased with my cataract surgery results. He came recommended. Id definitely refer my family and friends to him. It took me a while to get an appointment with him but well well worth the wait.

If I could give zero, I would. While a perfectly nice person, Dr. Jacobs has been EXTREMELY misleading! After having cataract surgery, I discovered that the estimate they showed me was actually not a total... they failed to include the surgery center fees, the anesthesiology fees, and the anesthesiologist fees. Forward 4.5 years and my vision is terrible. I returned to the office to discover that a membrane had grown between my eye and the artificial lens. Dr. Jacobs examined me and said No worries, this is common. The procedure to fix it is really quick and will be 100% covered by your insurance. Not even close. The procedures were only partially successful and I owe over $600! Add to this, I was consistently kept waiting at least 20 minutes after my appointment time, the waiting room is extremely uncomfortable, the receptionist is often rude, and their air conditioning barely works. After trying my best to handle this privately w/ the dr. and his office to no avail, I told them Id be taking to social media. Take your business elsewhere!

In addition to his impeccable educational credentials, Dr. Jacobs is one of the nicest and caring individuals I have ever met. He is an extraordinary communicator with a gifted ability to explain things to a lay person. He is what the practice of medicine should look like. I somewhat wish I had a third eye so I could go back but I will settle for two perfect eyes - which I have not had for many years. Somehow thankyou does not seem to be enough for the man (and his team) that gave me my vision back - BUT I will say it anyway - THANKYOU!!!

Dr Jacobs removed cataracts on both my eyes; one week apart. He explained the procedure, gave ample supporting literature, performed the procedure & followed up. I found him to be informed, reassuring, courteous, and skilled. I am very happy I had this procedure and that Dr Jacobs did it for me.

I had cataracts caused by high dose Prednisone therapy for an antibiotic induced eosinophilic pneumonia and developed cataracts from the steroid. Dr. Jacobs was personable and kind and very thorough. He said the PanOptix lens would be best for me and explained it very well. The procedure was very quick and easy at the outpatient surgical center. He places a drop of a steroid and a drop of Cipro antibiotic in the eye and you do not have to use any eye drops post surgery. I am two days out from my second cataract surgery and the blurriness from the medication drops in the eye has resolved leaving me with excellent vision in both eyes. No glasses for me again. He gives excellent care and I would highly recommend him.

I have been a patient of Dr. Jacobs for almost a decade. He recently preformed PRK surgery for me. I had been contemplating it for years and finally decided to move forward. I had cataract operations by Dr. Jacobs in Feb 2021. It has been 3 months and I finally think I can write an honest and thorough review.Dr. Jacobs knows his stuff. He is one the best eye surgeons in Colorado. He cares about patients. He listened intensively, provided unbiased options, answered all my questions, addressed all my concerns, not once showing impatience or making myself feeling uncomfortable.My right eye developed cataracts to the point that it became almost useless. Because I was severely near-sighted, Dr. Jacobs recommended performing operations on both eyes in a week apart. Due to deterioration of macular of my right eye, he did not think it can take full benefit offered by the new multifocal lens and recommended the standard one, while for my left eye he recommended PanOptix. He assured me that with this combo, I should be good without glasses for both far and near sight.The operations were perfectly done, and on second day I would be able to see the drastic result of the operation. After almost 50 years of wearing glasses, I was able to clearly see the world without one. The ensuring recovery was eventless. After three months I am happy to report that it met my expectation. My far sight is about 20/25, and the TV is ever so crystal clear. I can use cell phone and read books, and manage to do all my work using computer, all without glasses. Everything was what Dr. Jacobs told me – he did not over-promise, and I have not had any surprises.Granted, the PanOptixs lens had the “halo” or “ring” problem for night vision. I was told so from the beginning, but frankly it did not bother me too much. I could drive at night without problem. The mid-range vision (reading computer screen) is a little fuzzy but OK. Also as Dr Jacobs said, the new lenses are best with good light conditions. All in all I truly thank Dr. Jacobs for the outstanding work he did for me, and highly recommend him without any reservation.

This is a review about the outstanding experience Ive had with Dr. Jason Jacobs - And the whole incredible team at Colorado Ophthalmology. Now with regards to cataract surgery in both eyes.. Having been unsatisfied with my previous Ophthalmologist, I began a rather desperate search in earnest for a doctor that truly listens and especially someone I could trust. Based on five star reviews, a hunch and and a referral from a doctor I have known for over 30 years, I was fortunate enough to make a decision to go and see Dr. Jacobs and the staff at Colorado Ophthalmology to remove my cataracts, and consult with him as my situation was more complicated than most people - due to something called keratoconus. From the get go, Dr. Jacobs formulated a plan to do surgery on my eyes for the cataract problem and simultaneously deal with the keratoconus complications. The results have been phenomenal: no more cataracts, 20/20 vision in my right eye (With scleral lens correction) which was legally blind, and now one day after my left eye cataract surgery I am seeing 20/40 with no correction and no pain whatsoever. I fully expect I will see 2020 with scleral lenses In both eyes - all recommended by Dr. Jacobs. I have been so impressed by his work that I insisted my wife to come in to Colorado Ophthalmology and she is now seeing without glasses completely pain-free - And no more cataracts! So in our household within a seven month period we have done all four of our eye cataracts removed and replaced with perfect results - Thanks to the professionalism of Dr. Jacobs, Dr. Frank, and the well-honed staff of Colorado Ophthalmology. I have been seeing Dr Jason Jacobs for years as my ophthalmologist. Several years ago he told me that he could help correct my astigmatism and I would only need glasses to read. At that time I said no. This year’s eye exam at the end of January Dr. Jacobs again and said he could help correct my vision and indicated that a small amount of cataracts that I had in both eyes could be taken care of at the same time replacing my lenses with lenses that would significantly reduce my astigmatism. I agreed to have the procedure. I am very pleased after having had the second eye procedure done last week in the clarity that I have without glasses for distance vision in both eyes. During my follow up visits the day after each procedure Dr. Jacobs said he was very pleased with the results. I had every confidence in Dr. Jacobs before having the procedure done and have an even greater level of confidence in Dr. Jacobs and his recommendation after the procedures. I was very nervous about cateract surgery. I had Laziks in 2000, but couldnt locate my records. I was told by other doctors over the years, that getting my former vision back without my pre and post Lazik exam records was iffy. I highly recommend Dr. Jacobs! I had been going to an Eye Center in Fort Collins, but lost confidence in them when dealing with my cataracts. I could no longer drive. A friend referred to Dr. Jacobs. He exceeded my expectations! I was able to get scheduled for surgery very quickly. It was worth the drive to Denver! He explained everything to be in detail and answered my questions thoroughly. His pre-op assistant was extremely thorough as well. He told me what to anticipate in terms of the potential differences in having eye one and eye two a week later. Extremely helpful! Both cataract surgeries went great! I have been a patient for 10 yrs. and would be pleased to send everyone I know to Dr. Jacobs. You will be in good hands here. I appreciated getting eyedrops during surgery instead of trying to struggle with this myself post-op. I got the multifocal lenses implanted (Panoptix?) and its awesome to not need glasses. It was worth the wait to save up for these lenses (Medicare pays for the surgery but not to improve vision - only a basic lens). I could see really well as soon as I got home from surgery.

I am posting for my wife, Judy Engler, who recently had two cataract surgeries conducted by Dr. Jacobs. We chose this Doctor based on recommendation from another eye doctor that we had previous connections with in another state. Dr. Jacobs made us feel at ease regarding our choice from the first initial visit and each of the following visits. We became totally convinced that we could not have been more pleased as we completed the two surgeries all within one week. Additionally, his staff in office also a great source of comfort in answering initial questions we had.

Perfect Eyes! How do you value your eyes? How often do we take them for granted? My active mother (aged 82).. finally realized her cataracts were making her life smaller. She was INCREDIBLY AFRAID of doing anything!! After lots of research, we came to Dr. Jacobs. I cant imagine anyone more terrified that her...truly. Dr. Jacobs is a great cataract surgeon, and the folks he works with are wonderful. He is a caring doctor who worked carefully and extremely competently to remove cataracts from both of my eyes. Having had a lens condition my whole life which required very thick glasses, I cant describe the relief and joy after surgery, when I could see everything completely clearly with no glasses. I understand my condition, and the surgery, were very complicated, and previous reviews lead me to this cataract team and surgeon who would be able to deal with the many issues that could have occurred. Dr Jacobs and His team were Great. I have had both eyes done in the past 3 weeks and it went smooth. I was taken care of very well and they even liked my bad jokes.But all in all I tell you want you cant go wrong here. I wasnt up sold or over soldMy sight is back better than before. I’m so happy with the results of my recent cataract surgery. I’m very cautious when it comes to my health, so I researched Dr. Jacobs before my first exam. I’m 10 days post surgery for one eye and 3 days post surgery for the 2d eye, and no longer need glasses. Colors are brighter - just a great result.

I am delighted with the improvement in my vision. Initially fearful of the effects of the surgery on my ability to drive at night, after thorough discussions with Dr. Jacobs I elected to have Symfony extended focus lenses implanted and am very pleased with the results. Although the expected flaring is present around lights, the improvement in night vision more than compensates. Dr. Jacobs and his staff were thorough, understanding, competent. Highly recommended.

My cateract surgery went superbly! Other eye doctors wanted to do the surgery a long time ago and never addressed my dry eye problem. Dr. Jacobs tested me and would not perform my surgery until I went on a 6 month dry eye program. After that my dry eyes improved substantially and i had the surgery done. I had my cataracts removed and lenses inserted so I no longer need glasses for distance or close-up. I could not be happier with the result. I felt very confident in Dr. Jacobs knowledge and skill. A consummate professional would be a good description of him. I will be moving to Tucson in the near future but plan to keep Dr. Jacobs as my eye doc and will travel back as needed. He is that good.

So glad that there is an extremely competent Opthamologist who is willing and eager to embrace the latest cataract lens replacement technology. While certainly not everyone is a candidate for multifocal lens replacement, it is such a shame that not all physicians are willing to become adept enough to perform the surgery well or even offer it to their patients. Dr. Jacobs is a gem! Had cataracts removed in both eyes and replaced with multifocal lenses and now, just 2 days later, can see distance, close up and middle area better than I have in years and without glasses. Colorado Ophthalmology Associates has a bunch of Dr./Surgeons on staff. The company usually assigns their Surgeons to patients. My wife and I both needed cataract surgery. We decided that her needs were greater, so she was first. Her surgery was scheduled in two months. We received a call of an immediate opening with Dr. Jason Jacobs due to a cancellation. We were very fortunate for the unexpected opening in his schedule. He did an excellent job from pre-operation, surgery to post-operation. Such a great job, I asked him if he was able to do mine before the holidays. 14 days later before he went into the office, Dr. Jacobs started his week early to operate on my left eye and did my other eye on his regular Wednesday surgery day. Again with excellent results. Not only is Dr. Jacobs a highly skilled Surgeon/Ophthalmologist, he cares about his patients and goes well beyond the norm for their well being, comfort and care.
