Dr. Matous (and N.P. Kate) really listen when I share problems and each act to ameliorate my circumstances. The nurses are responsive, prompt, compassionate AND efficient. I feel well-cared for!

In addition to the top notch physicians at CBCI, the entire staff is wonderful. Professional, knowledgeable and always incredibly pleasant and caring. There is a refreshing sense of camaraderie amongst the whole care team, and it is clear that these nurses, assistants and the rest of the staff genuinely want to be working at CBCI and with each other.

Ive had the fortune (albeit an odd sort of fortune) to be a patient with CBCI for about 11 years. I had a rare blood cancer that I was diagnosed with at age 36. The disease is always terminal without a stem cell transplant, and even then, the odds of long term survival are low. CBCI is nationally recognized as a leader in stem cell transplants and they earn every bit of it. The doctors, nurses, techs, aids, admins, etc. Arent just good. They are excellent. They care about every patient tremendously and will be your advocate through insurance, if needed. They care for the whole patient from medicine to mental well being. The doctors are seasoned and work as a team when you reviewing difficult cases. They have the answers and are patient getting you up to speed, they have access to and knowledge of most clinical trials, and have a very robust presence at Presbyterian St Lukes. When you are ill, as a CBCI patient, your doctor is contacted, your care coordinated, and it seems that everything happens quickly to get you well. That isnt to say that all is perfect and that you never wait, it is more that you are treated like a priority and like you are a VIP. CBCI has saved my life from blood cancer, from sepsis, from pneumonia, and other problems. If you have the misfortune of a blood cancer diagnosis. Get your second or third opinion at CBCI and you will be in great hands. I have trusted and do trust them with my life and have referred several others to them. They may not be able to save everybody, but they dont stop fighting to cure you, and they dont think that good enough is good enough. I only endorse a handful of people or entities ever. This is one that I do so loudly and with confidence.

I am watching a hero’s funeral as it is aired to the world and reminded how honored I am to have been touched by all the souls on ALLO unit who cared for us in April 2018. So grateful for our Team and our own special Dr. Ali and all the fabulous caregivers who work with him who have given us more time.

These people are literally saving my sister’s life. If it were not for Dr. Ali’s positive response to our initial consultation (even though we had been told by her oncologist she wasn’t likely a good candidate for transplant and had a 10% chance of being alive within two years because of the types of mutations she had), my sister would probably be dead or dying right now. Instead, he gave us solid hope that we could fight and even win this battle and now, 8 months post transplant she is coming to spend Christmas with me in California. Everyone, from bottom to top were always respectful and professional to me as the solo highly engaged caregiver. Their medical skill level is quite high and they contribute much to the advancement of medical knowledge that treats and cures blood cancers. At the time of my sister’s transplant, they were one of two US transplant facilities licensed to do CarT. They are cutting edge and very humane.

My husband’s ALL and subsequent GVHD have required A LOT of care and I’m so glad we’re able to have CBCI on our side. Dr. Tees is our main doctor and he is EXCELLENT. Everyone, and I do mean everyone, there is kind and caring. From the excellent doctors to the wonderful coordinators, schedulers, receptionists, insurance and financial counselors, therapists and amazing nurses; this place is special. Our concerns are taken seriously and we never feel anything but welcomed and cared for. They’re all amazing.

Best care team ever. Park in the main garage and take the elevator to the street level and walk across the street to the doors right of the main hospital doors. Then take the elevator to the 3rd floor to CBCI.

I know No one likes to come to a place like this BUT if you have to I think this is one of the best. I got ALL eurkimea and they help me fight it. Un like a lot of dr. Office they make this place friendly to come too. They great you when you show up with smiles and kindness. They help you with all the paperwork they need too. They just seem to put you first not just in and out cattle run others do. The weighting room is nice and clean too. Then when you get back to a room they are great too. The staff is so happy and friendly with you. They just put you at ease of what is going on and will take all the time needed to go over any questions you have. Cancer in no fun but they try to make it the best they can. Again if you got to do it this is the place and the people to take care of you.

Do not use this facility, I was sent here for a case study was told that all medical bills would be paid for by the case study, regardless if I qualified or not, after I went through their tests to see if I was a candidate, not only did I not meet their criteria, I received a bill. Added stress to an already stressful situation, avoid this medical institute at all costs. Their case study advocate Kristine Brovsky will ignore your phone calls and emails. Sadly I’m still trying to get this resolved. I was sent here in early January 2019....

Dr Ali saw me and thought my CAstlemans disease had spread to my forehead. I was freaked out! He sent me to another doctor who told me it was MRSA and put me on Bactrium. The bactrium didnt work and had to go the ER the next day! Dr Ali didnt care and has had a dismissive manner with me. He should give better care. He is not familiar with Castlemans disease and should take care of his patients better.
