If you’re looking for a personal trainer, Stephanie is a great resource! She’s motivating, patient, and very knowledgeable. It’s a little pricey but if you’re in the market for it, I highly recommend Stephanie!

Everything is clean, the staff is very helpful and welcoming. Great quality gym! Eric is my personal trainer there, he took me from someone that didn’t know anything about working out to a confident trainee! Definitely recommend him and this gym for all your fitness needs!

I have gone to LA fitness for just under one year, as for I paid for the year in one lump sum. I also paid for personal training sessions which cost me around $440 per month. I am not going to renew my yearly membership, and will also will be cancelling my personal training sessions immediately, as for I have tried contacting the personal training director, Taylor smith, several times and have not gotten a response for setting up my training sessions. This is not a good situation, especially since there is no sort of refund program for the wasted training sessions I’ve been ripped off with. Very poor communication with this location. Spend your money getting trained somewhere more professional.

Do not get a membership here they only care about taking your money. Not to mention the manager Taylor is very rude and very unprofessional. I was promised one thing but when it came down to it told something completely different. Paying $300 a month for a personal training service that is below average. They are way better gyms that care about you as a personal and your money.

Its LA Fitness and its very good. No judgements just pure exercise focus. And the staff is very professional. Recommend joining and making it your home gym.

I like the gym , it’s cool , plenty equipments . What I believe is that it need to be cleaner , it looks like they don’t care much about that aspect , also maintaining it as well . A little effort and that place can be 5 stars , but there’s work to be done . It’s simple but needs act .

I am completely being scammed by LA Fitness and they are not helping at all. I have not been since Covid started. I canceled my membership by phone and I canceled it through their website. I have changed my card #, blocked them, they changed name and now its being taken out through a different name. I have not been there in like 18 months and they pull $50 off my account every month. My monthly was never $50. Is that a Covid fee? They are scamming me for no reason.

I have been going here for a while and the people are very nice I really like them and they help you when youre not understanding what to do or how to do the machines I like that, I love this swimming pool is always clean and this warm water is not cold in that pool I like that I enjoy this atmosphere also and the people that work there its very nice. The surrounding area is nice I like that as well you have different stores different restaurants to your youre finger tips .

This place is hit or miss. Sometimes I walk in and the place looks super clean and organized and other times it looks like a mess. To me the equipment seems a little dated specially since this gym is one of the more pricier gyms in town. Overall its nothing special the only reason I keep my membership here is because they have a pool. Otherwise I would be at another gym.

This place is consistently dirty, empty bottles of equipment cleaner, trash cans overflowing.

I am a prime example that it is never too late to take out a gym membership. I will celebrate my 80th 🎂 in 2 weeks and I joined to work on my balance, NY endurance and my weight for an upcoming trip to Great Britain. I am psyched.

Ive been going to the gym for about 5 years, and would recommend it to any of my friends. I do like how this location has a sauna, a must need for me.

We were intending to join LA Fitness and were quoted a price to pay in advance for a year so we scheduled a time to come sign up with John two days later since we couldnt come the same day. We were in constant communication with him via text and we arrive to find out what he told us was incorrect because his regional manager corrected him. It would of been nice if he had texted us to let us know that was the case versus tell us to come and waste a 45 minute drive. All he could offer was a 14 day pass or us paying full price no difference than doing monthly. We will take our business elsewhere.

Bathrooms are nasty. They are neglected. Complaining about them goes on deaf ears. There’s never any toilet paper or soap. I hope another alternative comes along so I can jump ship. Where’s Edge Fitness when you need them.

They are doing very little to enforce the use of masks at this club. I counted 10+ people during my workout this morning with no mask at all.There is also a continuously short supply of paper towels to clean equipment.If coronavirus scares you, stay away from this place. I will look to cancel my membership and join a safer gym.

Please save your money and protect your health. In the environment we are in today, this gym should be shut down due to the lack of cleanliness! Ive been a member of LA Fitness for years and this is the worst facility ever. The floors, machines, carpet all need a makeover. Crumbs on floors and in between creases of machines. Carpet is disgusting. Machines are old and dirty.. I will be reporting this facility to BBB and CDC, they are unsafe for the community. Definitely cancelling membership.

The location at Denton is below average. Equipment and shower facilities are okay (not the best or cleanest) and not too busy if you go early enough or during odd hours. Staff is somewhat friendly and some are a bit arrogant, especially the personal trainer Mr. Keith. Prior team members like John were extremely polite and helpful but our familys interaction with Keith was not very pleasant. We decided to close our membership after our last communication with Keith, who was very rude. If you are looking for equipment and a place, but not personal training, this location/establishment is okay but if you want a total fitness-family friendly experience, find some place else.

Like most gyms, they will try to talk you into buying something you dont need. Dont fall for the scam. I wouldnt fall for it, and so they kept harassing me by phone until I blocked their number. If it wasnt for the harassment, it might have been a good place to workout. I canceled my membership and went elsewhere as a result.

I will also be canceling my membership due to lack of mask enforcement. Time to join a safer gym :/

I am enjoying this gym quite a bit! I mainly use the pool for physical therapy. For the most part the building is very clean and it’s close to home so that is a plus. However, I only have 4 stars because the jets in the spa (jacuzzi) barely work so it’s not much of a therapeutic experience. This is very disappointing for me since it was one of the reasons I joined this gym. I have mentioned it several times to the front desk attendant but I suppose this is as good as it gets.Also, the lack of private changing areas and doors that lock while taking a shower have me a little put off as well. Being close to home is really the only thing that keeps me going back because the alternative has a fabulous spa and private dressing and shower areas. The pitfall though would be having to drive to Flower Mound. So for now, La Fitness is my gym! 😉

Ive been to several LA Fitness gyms in DFW and the Denton TX club is my home club. This place is nasty dirty - even with coronavirus. Showers havent been thoroughly cleaned in years and just overall uncleanliness. What a shame as it is the newest of all the ones Ive been to.

The gym has many amenities, and very friendly workers. I have noticed lately that the restroom and pool areas do not appear to be well kept. The locker room/restroom have a strong odor and are usually pretty messy. The pool area/s seem very dirty and does not look like they are cleaned on a regular basis. Overall I am not very happy with the cleanliness of the facility.

Overall not bad. But overall not good. For what I’m paying, including a surprise $42 annual maintenance fee after 3 months (and another $42 for my wife next month, apparently), you would expect all the cardio equipment to be working— but you would be wrong. My wife and I will definitely be shopping around after our year is up. It would be an acceptable value if we were paying half of what we are and there were no random fees.

Good gym, sauna, indoor pool, cant complain much, the only downside is that they have the heavy bags for boxing in the spot where they hold most classes. I wish they would have a boxing area only.

This location has some awesome staff members, from front desk to custodial. However, the equipment is in dire need of upgrades. A lot of the cardio machines are really old. The aerobics room has no fan.I have also noticed a very concerning trend amongst some of the group fitness classes, in that they are getting very cliquey and instructors play favorites with their students to the detriment of the whole class. Corporate, if you read this heed my words and know that TXFamily and Fitness Cinnection are real competition now. They offer as much as LA Fitness but are both much cheaper. If things dont change with group fitness classes, I will take my business elsewhere.

I loved it!!!The instructors love what they do and are very patient and make exercise and living healthy seem like so much fun!Its generally clean and well maintained.The equipments are also in good shape and they offer free WiFi.

LA Fitness has the potential to be a great gym. Over the past few months, the quality of the staff and maintaining of the environment has gotten exponentially better. The biggest issue here is the people themselves. If you are serious about working out, you will find yourself often frustrated with people on their phones or groups standing and having conversations. I understand the gym can’t really control this, but it effects the experience for those who are there to actually do things. The thing they could control, and wont, is that you have individuals who take 3-5 sets of weights and put them aside to horde their entire workout. Essentially, if you pay to be a member, you can do whatever you want and no one is going to say anything to you about poor etiquette. Also, this place is entirely too small for their peak hours. So much so that most people I talk to who are serious about their routine will not touch the place during those times. If you are going to allow unlimited numbers of members, be able to house them. It is LA, the most corporate of the corporate, so just be prepared and know that the main motivator is cash.

My fiance and I went in lets say a year ago to get a membership. When we signed up, we asked what our options were if I had to cancel my membership because I was going to law school in downtown Dallas which already had a gym. The lady told us that if I chose to drop the membership that we could re-initiate the membership at the same rate provided my fiance stayed on the account. We agree to a membership on that basis. Six months later, I dropped because, like I said, I was going to graduate school in downtown Dallas. A week ago, I try to re-enroll, and the staff refuse to honor what the previous staff member said. Either the initial staff member lied, or this new staff member is lying. I declined to enroll at that time. Today, I printed out a guest pass for a week because we wanted to try out one of the classes. The lady at the front desk refused to activate it. She then said someone over there will help you. We stood over there staring at about six staff members with empty chairs in front of them for about five minutes before someone reluctantly talks to us. He refuses to honor the guess pass from the LA fitness website. We tell him wed like to cancel our membership, and he points to the desk we were just standing at. The lady at the desk says she cant help us and rights down a phone number which she tells my fiance to call. My fiance asks her to call the number because wed like to cancel today. She tells us we can either fill out a form and mail it in and come back another day to sign it or call the number. We go to our car and call the number to cancel, and she instructs us that we need to go inside to cancel the membership. Basically, this is the worst customer service Ive ever experienced.

Its okay I like the idea of salt water pool n spa. They charged me $59 on my first day of looking at the place and then $100 the following month and now $30 a month I think I will be canceling the membership the 1-hour personal training was basically a joke you expect as a new customer to be shown how to work the equipment and thats not what happened I end up doing planks and some up and down stands and a few armed curling and the BMI that was about all.I expected a little bit more as in to be shown what the equipment was like and try to help figure out a workout plan.the swimming pool always seems to be really cold but I know that has to do a corporate not the site itself,so I was told by a personal trainer. I do like the idea of the classes theyre offered for free and you can take them anytime theyre scheduled sometimes the gym is extremely packed and other times its fairly decent where you can move around I think overall it is okay but the staff could be a little bit more helpful and friendly I rarely see the front desk person smile.

Theres a large variety of equipment. The staff is really nice and helpful. Theres racket ball court, basketball court and boxing/crossfit/yoga room with all sorts of mirrors. If they add some bars for ballet, it is very easy to make the room a simple ballet room too.

Good gym, great classes, like the open concept. Some of the equipment is dated, but there are lots of options and I can always get on the machines that I want. Fitness Manager Travis spent some time with me for the complimentary fitness testing and was very helpful with form and stretching techniques. Definitely recommend.

I was sold a personal training membership as three times per week for $220 per month. This was to be month to month and no headaches. Well, after seven times training my Personal Trainer informed me that I only have seven sessions per month instead of the three per week which should equal 12 per month. I called the gym and the manager said that I can have 12 per month for $110 more per month.This is not what I agreed to originally, and told him that I am not willing to pay $320 per month instead of the $220. He said that there is nothing he can do for me, and I would have to call corporate. I called corporate and they said that they cant do anything for me and I have to call the manager at the gym. So here again, I call the gym, now he is not available for me anymore. Yet, I called from within the gym and he was sitting at his desk doing nothing. When ever I go to the gym Brat (thats his name) crawls into his cube and hides. TOUGH GUY BRAT! Please be afraid of a 53 women that weighs 110 lbs.So I called the corporate office again to cancel because this is not what I have agreed to, then I am informed that my membership is NOT month to month and to cancel I have to pay 50% of the annual membership fee which is a whopping 1000 something dollars...Currently I am submitting complaints with the BBB and am looking into a legal advocate as the deal is not what I was sold. One of the better gyms around.. the staff are great at advice and help when needed and the equipment are always available and clean .. the pool, sauna and hot tub are a definite plus .. the Zumba classes are always crowded but definitely a great workout.. they even have a play center for kids if the parents need!

After a very horrible customer service experience, the manager, Josh, went out of his way to make it up to me. I think it really says something when a manager truly cares about the clients and their experience. I appreciated that he recognized the injustice and made a MAJOR effort to correct it. Not to mention he was kind and genuine throughout everything.

Induction fee is outrageous even for just an account with one person at one club. Its actually even higher that what the website says because they force you to pay for the first and second month up front. And they tell you that this is a benefit so that if you decide to cancel you can still use the facilities. No thanks, id rather just have my money back. They also charge you more then what the site says per month. I was told I would pay 24.99 a month, it was actually 32.46 a month. I went in for an evaluation and the employee who did my evaluation kept trying to get me to sign up for a personal trainer ( which would have cost hundreds) I said no and he kept ignoring my answer and kept trying to get me to get a personal trainer. I had to tell him no about five times before he stopped ignoring me. And the best part? They wont stop my next months payment from being processed because I didnt cancel five days before the next billing date. Terrible anti-consumer policies, go to another gym company.

If your being asked if your interested in signing up for training READ this before you sign anything, I joined 2 years ago havent had a problem, till I signed up for training, I have seen great results in little time in training, I got put with a good trainer, Eric, however I was told false promises by the person incharge of training sign ups, first off I was working out minding my buisness and some one asked if I was interested in a free evaluation, after the evaluation I was satisfied with the information and was interested at that point I was tiered, we went though the differnet plans and I asked for the lowest plan and was told I was getting a one time offer, after I asked for the total price of my gym membership and training , I was told the training and gym membership was going to be a total of $180 after the initial payment, I was adressed that the payment would be paid at different dates and skimmed through agreements, but if I would have known that the gym membership and training in seperate payments all together would round up to $230 I would have not signed up for lesser days out of the month or not signed up at all, I also asked if my guest privileges could be canceled and I was told that if I signed up on the spot and signed papers I would get my guest privleges canceled, I came in today Feb,20 to sort things out and I have gotten confirmation by the front desk lady that apparently the guy that signed me up for training has no say in anything pertaining cancellations in memberships, and inorder to cancel my guest privlidges I would need to get with the person incharge of memberships, I wasnt going to say a thing about the training and just asked to cancel my guest privleges because I was concerned because I realize its the beggining of the month and I dont want to be charged for a service I no longer use, a little upset and annoyed by the whole situation, because this shouldnt be so difficult at this point I dont feel like a customer but a guy that the corporation can just trick in to getting money out of, sounds bad but im being as detailed as possible I could throw names but thats not the point I work hard for my money and shouldnt have to take time out of my day to try to figure out something that should have been done with more coordination, respect and understanding towards me the customer other than that I dont see my self at any other gym for years to come but If this isnt fixed after this contract im done with this gym.

This gym is ok. I dont rate it a 4 or 5 star for a few reasons. The first being they dont offer towels to the guests. Ive never worked out at a gym that didnt offer towels to guests. To many times sweaty men and women get off of a machine that I want to use but dont because there is a puddle of sweat where they just were. The other thing I dont like is most of the free weights are often all taken if you get there after 5pm. They need to have more 10-15 lb free weights for women to as 2 sets just isnt enough. Most of the people here have good gym etiquette, but you still get your occasional meat head who doesnt take his 300+ lbs worth of weights off the machine when hes done. That really annoys me especially when they see me standing there waiting for them to get off the machine. One other thing I might add is if you dont want the be pressured into purchasing a personal trainer DO NOT use your FREE one time training session. They will hound you big time to sign up and its just frustrating to the max. For all you parents they do offer a daycare for the kiddos free of charge.

Ive met many diverse and exciting people at LA Fitness. The staff usually keep to themselves, theyre not pushy about personal training. Mostly satisfied.

I had an absolutely awful experience with the assistant manager Jimmy yesterday. Absolutely dreadful. I was asking to speak with the general manager (Shawn) regarding customer service concerns. When Jimmy (assistant manager) came over he explained that he was standing there trying to help me and that if I didnt like the service he was providing I could get out. He then proceeds to walk away while shouting you can get out, you can leave. I was absolutely FLABBERGASTED!!!! I have NEVER had a similar experience with any business in my life. I kept asking to speak with Shawn who Id been told was in the bathroom. After 30 min or so of having Jimmy tell me that I could not speak with Shawn because I didnt need to talk to him and he was unavailable Jimmy noticed that I wasnt leaving and finally called Shawn over. When Shawn arrived he told me that Jimmy had done nothing wrong at all. He was completely unapologetic and told me that he (Shawn) had been working for LA Fitness for 4 and 1/2 years, that LA Fitness had thousands of customers and that they offered excellent customer service.The grace for this place was that the Member Service manager (Marisa) contacted me today and was very gracious and apologetic. Her customer service was excellent and I would definitely consider trying LA Fitness again under different sales management. Was trying out the place on a guest pass (Shawn frequently reminded me that I was not a member) but I was greatly looking forward to becoming a member prior to this incident. No love lost for LA Fitness as a whole. Just wish I could have had a better experience with the assistant and general managers.

Very personable and kind and knowledgeable from front desk to trainers ..Don Gibson personal trainer is the best in Tx ..I feel very fortunate to have had him as my trainer for years ..1-hour sessions 2X week . I have been going to LA Fitness at this location for over 3 years. The only issues I have is that the trainers are constantly changing because of how poorly they are treated, and the sales and management staff is about the same. The machines and weights are usually in good shape, only issue is that when something breaks, it takes a good while to get repaired. customers are great, and it has a great selection of exercise classes and options.

What Gage below stated. Its a gym. It provides a wide variety of equipment in excellent shape, a daycare that has been great for my kiddo. He runs out of my arms to go there when I go. A nice tempatured pool, punching bags, and the service has always been great for me.

Clean and high character staff. Especially great equipment.

While Ive been mostly pleased with the facility in Denton, Texas, I had an encounter several days ago with a self-identified Operations Manager by the name of Jena.Without going into detail (lack of space here), I had a complaint which I brought to Jenas attention. To put it simply, it had to do with the etiquette for sharing weight machines, especially those in high demand.For the most part, fellow customers are polite and conscientious about sharing machines but a tiny fraction are not.When I approached Jena with my complaint, she first asked me if I had been polite about asking to work in. When I said I had, she said Id just have to live with (Im paraphrasing). Obviously, I was not happy with her initial response. It felt like she was placing the entire burden of sharing resources completely on my shoulders.To her credit, Jena did offer to speak to other guests on my behalf. I thanked her for her offer but declined because I really just wanted to know how well the management team would have my back in such a situation. And, while I appreciated her offer, it was what she said before and after - like a very untasty sandwich - that bothered me more than anything else that transpired this day.She said, and I paraphrase, Weve never had any other guests complain about this before. Frankly, thats very hard to believe.That sentiment basically felt like a huge invalidation. Nothing about her attitude convinced me that she was genuine in her offer to intervene. When statistics prove that, for every one customer who has a complaint, there are at least 26 others with the same or similar complaints, it was alarming that an Operations Manager would so readily dismiss a complaint. That means those 27 people either continue as unhappy guests or discontinue their membership and go to other fitness centers. Is that what LA Fitness wants? Unhappy guests?I have been mostly happy with LA Fitness. Except for a tiny number of guests who do not share weight machines properly, most others are quite pleasant to work out with. Unfortunately, the interaction with this one particular manager, Jena, was a huge problem. It makes me wonder if her sentiments are shared by other members of the management team at this LA Fitness Center.

LA Fitness is a strange place, because it has so much potential, but is just so poorly run. Someone is clearly spending a large sum of money to invest and create these facilities, but the whole culture of the place is young people who just dont give a darn. The facility is quite open and nice for the most part and the equipment is pretty good, but the cleaning is terrible. The place is dirty and they do not seem to care when you tell them about it. The pool and hot tub are nasty and so are the bathrooms. They do not have well trained people to clean...just skating by with the minimum work.They use a split management that creates confusion. They have a sales manager and sales team that tell you what you want to hear, including lie to you to get you in. The operations management is the other side of the coin, they are rude and dont care about much except following the policy and ignoring what the sales team tells the client. There is a rift between them and they do not back up what they say. I experienced this and many others as well. Corporate is worse. When you call them in California, they are rude and completely unhelpful and the exact same I dont care attitude rules there too. I believe the employees are just there for the paycheck and just dont care about anything. The split management creates confusion and the opportunity for internal discord and bureaucracy.I do not recommend them to anyone.

An affordable place to get my lift in. Im not sure why everyone keeps complaining about LA fitness, it has everything that I need to get a proper workout in... you go there to exercise, not to worry about the other members and their form, and not worry about when employees dont give a proper greeting... (yall are quite the sensitive bunch if you rate 1-2 star for something as little as that).I go during low traffic hours and whatever I need is usually free, if it isnt then I just move on to the next routine and come back to it later.I see employees walking around taking care of the gym from time-to-time, its not a complete mess. Its only a mess because some of the members lack the sense to re-rack their weights after theyve completed their exercise.The only con I see would be the maintenance, the lack of cold water from the first floor fountain, and flat basketballs.

Eduardo Agueros the “GM” at this gym is awful! My brother sent my husband and I 14 trial pass as he works at another LA location. When we went in to activate it this GM claimed he knew my husband and had already given him a free pass. Accused my brother of just trying to get commission. He then gave us a two day pass but we won’t be using it. This man is terrible we definitely won’t be back we will find another gym

Good location. The front desk person is nice. Everybody else wont disk with you.

This place is horrible. The locker rooms are in the condition youd expect to find in a crowded prison cell of a third world country. The workout equipment never works to the point that this place could pass off as some kind of exercise machine boneyard. And the staff has the customer service skills youd expect from someone working at a government agency.

I do no recommend this Gym, the work out equipment need up grade also sauna and hot tub need to be more clean, this place Ned more sanitation.

Stopped going because of equipment always being broken such as treadmills. For months 4 or 5 weren’t working. For the space they have, they could get more equipment in there to handle rushes. Finally decided to leave the gym, and of course they make it difficult. Instead of just filling it out online they make you print a form and mail it in or cancel at the gym. I’mOk with cancelling at the gym but only one person can do it and they haven’t been there the two times I’ve been in.

Been going for over 2 years always very friendly staff and always clean.

There are select few trainers that actually know their job. Most are only concerned with the opposite sex. A lot of standing around and talking instead of helping and coaching. I watched a man suffer on a flat bar and a La Fitness employee just walked on by like they will be fine. I guess thats the atmosphere they created when they dont care. And when I went to cancel, they had no clue how to get anything done. I was charged again for a months service. Luckily for me, the phone operated was there best worker. The worst La Fitness gym Ive attended.

Excellent staff, always greets you when you walk in very friendly. I love the gym best place.

Everyone should clean the equipment off but they dont employees slean but not right after so 2/10 people could use it and they are still not clean. Fun work outs helpful people.

Love that they have a pool, hot tub, racket ball and sauna, wish they were open later though

Decent gym with nice staff and average equipment. The overall corporation is the issue with rigid practices that are focused on income and not the customer.

Extremely unprofessional staff and Emily at the front desk in addition to other staff refused to cancel my membership tonight after the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Do NOT go here!! There are much better gyms in denton and they will rip you off!

No pressure gym

Be careful before you sign up anything with them , they promised you with too many stuff then after a while you will find out everything was just talking.Also the cardio instruments is very old and need maintenance, specially the running machines it keeps shutting down while you are running.

I went in last Friday to sign up for a membership. I was very excited because they offered lots of classes, had a swimming pool, and was a nice facility overall. They told me with my membership that I got one free workout with a personal trainer. I was excited because this would give me ideas about how I should work out! As of right now I cannot afford one, but doing one free trial doesnt hurt anybody.So I go and do my free workout and they tell me to go over to the computers. They tell me the costs and I tell them it is way out of my price range (the costs ranged from $280-$600 a month!!) They call over their manager and he tells me he can get the price down to $200 a month. I tell him there is no way that can happen, as I am a newlywed, a recent college graduate, and we have a lot of bills we have to pay. Then things started getting aggressive. The manager is telling me how if I work out on my own without a personal trainer that I will not gain muscle and I will lose weight but my whole body will be all fat and no muscle and I will not be healthy. He tells me that I wont live a long life because I will not dedicate one year of my life to personal training. And then the cherry on top: he tells me if my husband cared about me, he would pay for my personal training, because what good husband doesnt care about their wife?I stayed very calm, but this whole thing lasted an hour of them badgering me about why I should do personal training. I dont know how I got out of there, but I immediately called their corporate office since the manager was the one that was acting so terribly towards me. They were shocked, but I have not heard anything and I doubt any action has been taken.So the best way to make sure that action is taken these days is social media. So please beware of LA Fitness in Denton, TX and watch out for the manager Iban.

I wish they would upgrade their equipment. You would think that the company can, since they charge everyone an arm and a leg for the membership lol the stair masters is always broken, the cardio machines upstairs is outdated and the bathrooms are usually nasty...this place needs so much improvements..... however you still can have a good workout with the free weights
