My son is four years old. He is an established patient of Dr. Yale and has seen him a few times for his routine appointments. My child has autism and speech delay. This past Thursday night, he fell, chipping a piece off of his front tooth, which already had a small chip broken from a previous incident (Dr. Yale was monitoring the previous chip situation). My son has an incredibly high pain tolerance and generally never cries when say he trips/skins up his arms/knees etc. Needless to say, when he continued to cry for quite sometime even despite me giving him motrin, I was concerned. I filled out the emergency appointment request form that night. Throughout the night, until he fell asleep, my child continually told me, I hurt, a phrase that I have never heard him use before this event. Again, very concerning.Friday morning, I expected to receive a call soon after they opened to schedule the emergency visit. I did not receive this call, so I called them. I explained everything above, emphasizing that my son has autism, is not conversationally verbal, and that he was continuing to tell me that morning, Ouch! Bobo! I hurt! I requested for him to be seen that day. The person answering the phone told me he probably would not be seen that day, but to hold on. Someone else then came to the phone and we went through the whole spill again. She then asked me to text a picture of the tooth. I immediately sent two.An hour and seven minutes went by and I had heard nothing. I called back to ask if indeed they had received the pictures that I sent. I explained that I wasnt trying to be bothersome, but was concerned that my son was in pain, and would like to begin seeking treatment elsewhere ASAP if there was absolutely no way that they could see him as it was Friday and I didnt want to go all weekend without someone looking at it. I was told that they had received the pictures but that Dr. Yale was not in the office and that the dentist that was in office had not had a moment to look at them. Five minutes went by and I got a call back from someone else telling me that they did not know when the dentist would have time to look at the pictures, so if I wanted to seek care elsewhere I should do that.I then called Grand Family Dentistry, who offered me an immediate appointment - as it should be, but I digress. As I was pulling into Grand, I received another call from Yale telling me that the dentist had reviewed the pictures sent and would not have time to see my son that day. I was also told, Were happy to try to schedule you something with Dr. Yale, but it will be the middle of next week sometime.This is absolutely unacceptable! I would understand more if my child wasnt an established patient of theirs, but that was not the case. He is an established patient and he is minimally verbal and cannot tell us how he is feeling, although he did the best he could and was in obvious pain/distress. This is NOT okay! I am extremely disappointed! Emergencies happen and there needs to be room left open in the daily schedule to attend to them. I could possibly understand more if I had called when they were about to close/late in the evening, but again, not the case. I literally notified them of the emergency with the form on their website the night before. I am so thoroughly disappointed!

Fair warning of a lengthy post that I would not write unless absolutely worth it.My now 6 year old son has been an established patient of Yale Pediatric Dentistry since he was 2 or 3 years old. My child’s oral hygiene and health has always been a priority. We have gone faithfully to our cleanings every 6 months. Any filling needed was promptly attended to. So when my son woke up at midnight crying saying his tooth was hurting, I was alarmed. I gave him Motrin and sent him back to bed. The next morning I called their office promptly when they opened at 8:00a.m. to get him seen. The scheduling coordinator, I assume, I spoke with said she would have to speak with a doctor and give me a call back. I let her know that I had taken my son to work with me and could be at their office ASAP. After waiting an hour, I called them back at 9:00 only to be told that the doctor had not read the note about my son yet. But he has a cleaning appointment in 2 weeks so maybe this could be addressed at that time. It was in their notes from his last appointment that the tooth bothering him was being watched by the doctor.EXTREMELY displeased because I have a child in pain. I asked if there was an emergency column for situations like such. I was told no, there is not. No room in the schedule to see emergencies? I have been in the dental field myself for 10 years now and find that to be highly concerning. Especially for a doctor that specializes in children.I let whomever I was speaking to know that him not getting in today wasn’t an option. She then offered me 4:00 p.m. Called back a few minutes later and offered me 2 p.m.As previously mentioned, I have been in the field for years. I reached out to a friend of mine that manages a dental office in Baton Rouge. They immediately saw my child. Took an X-ray and it was determined that the tooth had pretty bad decay. The doctor we saw was not comfortable working on children, which I totally understand. Hence the reason I bring my child to a pediatric dentist!I called Dr. Yale’s office and let them know that I took him to another dentist for his emergency and relayed the message about the tooth and emailed the X-ray. I asked if we could come in today at the previously offered 2:00, 4:00 or anytime, for this to be addressed. Due to a bad experience in the past, I wasn’t interested in him being sedated. I know that would push things out further as well. Again, I was told that I would be called back. An hour passed and my call was returned by Brenda who offered MAY 21ST!!!!!!!! When I told Brenda how unsatisfied I was with this response she said she would talk to the doctor about calling him something in for pain. An antibiotic was called in.I could not be more displeased and disappointed in the way an established patient was treated. In my opinion, to leave a child in pain FOR A MONTH is negligent. There is no way I would let this go on for another day.Thankfully, Dr. Wilkinson saw us the next morning and took care of my crying 6 year old son’s tooth. His kindness, compassion and efficiency is greatly appreciated.One week later and no one from Yale pediatric dentistry has called about my son. To whom in their knowledge, is still in pain. I have never written a bad review but this was 100% necessary to share.

Yale dentistry is amazing! We have been going here for years and my kids love going to the dentist! The entire staff are so friendly and make every visit enjoyable. I would recommend Yale dentistry to anyone with children. They are awesome ❤️

What an amazing place! I was so surprised, the whole place is fun and kid friendly, the staff is outstanding, and so sweet and gentle. My son is deaf, with cochlear implants, is intellectually impaired, and may be autistic as well. They were fantastic with him and kept the environment calm and friendly. I was so blown away, I wish my dentist office was this cool.

The staff is very friendly and comforting. Great docs. They keep you well informed and explain clearly everything you need to know according to the reason of your child’s visit. Love the paintings on the wall, the fun waiting room, and the tv’s on the ceiling. They even call you at home to check on your child after a procedure. Awesome pediatric dentist office!

I have to share my experience with Dr. Katie McClendon. Her and the staff at Yale Pediatric are AMAZING! The customer service they provided me was nothing like I have experienced in a very long, long time. It was genuine, really genuine.I made contact with Dr. Katie after calling my dentistry at 8:00p on a Friday. Yale Pediatric was the dentistry they provided in case of an emergency. I called and got Dr. Katies cell number. She answered and was very attentive and really made me feel more comfortable about the situation. She had me send pics of my sons injury. Shortly after I sent, she called me back and let me know that she could do an extraction first thing that Saturday morning because my son would not be comfortable until the tooth came out.We got to the office and she explained everything to me in detail just to make sure I was comfortable, even I wasnt the one with a tooth hanging out of my mouth. They just showed me they cared and it all felt so genuine. It was only confirmed when, through our discussion, I found out she had a full day to plan with her family with no lights at her house. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, it was STORMING also.I was nervous about how my son would do, but he handled it wayyyyyyy better than I expected and I know its because of the care and calming personality of Dr. Katie and the staff.Genuine is the best word I can use to describe what I felt when I talked to her Friday and met her Saturday. Hands down, she has to be the best!!! Thank you sooo much!!

Ive been bringing my grandchildren to Yale Pediatric Dental for 9 years. The staff is always friendly and very caring for the children. My grandchildren actually love going to the dentist. I love the peaceful atmosphere you can feel as soon as you walk in.

Yale pediatric dentistry is amazing. Even during these times, the staff is extremely pleasant professional and warm. Dr. Yale and his assistant were able to answer all of my questions and we were seen as soon as we arrived.

Signed in and didnt even sit long and were already called to the back. All the staff are super friendly and work with the kids. Very nice and clean and lots for the kids to do to occupy their wait. Best dentist ever i recommend them to anyone who has kids that may be scared of the dentist because they work super well with your child to feel safe and happy. Then at the end they give each child a coin to get a super cool surprise out their machine.

We love Yale! My boys love Dr. Katy. She makes them relax and the dentist not scary at all. I recommend them because they not only do a great job, but the kids will love them!

Both my boys (10 & 12) have been going to Yale for years and we’ve been happy with how nice everyone is and it’s a nice environment for kids but they’ve neglected to do what should’ve been done to my sons teeth so I’m having to find a better place to go. They only do what they have to do to get you in and out instead of worrying about what’s best. He has deep groves on his back teeth and needs sealant put on which would’ve been covered by my insurance if they would’ve done it when they were suppose to but now I have to come out of pocket full cost even though it’s Yale’s fault that they didn’t do it after all these years.

We love Yale Pediatric Dentistry! The office is geared toward kids, from the decor to the overhead TVs. The staff is friendly and great with our kiddos. Dr. Yale always does a great job and is particularly good at making the visit not scary for the kids when work needs to be done. Highly recommend!!

This was our first visit to Yale Pediatric Dentistry & I don’t think it could’ve been any better! From the moment we checked in, my daughter LOVED it! When I was a child the word dentist was so scary and let me tell you there is still places out there that will scare your child we took my son to a place like that at first But we then went to Yale pediatric dentistry. My son loves the dentist from the ladies at the front desk,dental assistants ,Dental Hygienes and all that we have encountered have been wonderful they truly care for your child !

My children and I are very satisfied with Yale Pediatric Dentistry. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. We have been going here for two years now. I absolutely love the staff and the office. It is always clean and the waiting room is so much fun and so inviting for kids! The office is warm and welcoming as soon as you walk in. All the staff in the back are so sweet and kind to each kid. Even with a fickle 2 year old they take the time and patience and understand each kid is different and has difficult or easy days. Love this place. *update* We still adore Dr. Katie she is excellent with all my kids. The girls in the back are so amazing with each kid no matter their age or experience. Ive never known kids to say they love going to the dentist until mine!

Staff is wonderful, and the place is super cute! All Louisiana themed murals, and the kids get a token when theyre done to chose a prize. My boys love it!!!

It was great. There wasnt a lot of wait time. The assistant did an excellent job of preparing Isaac to see the doctor. Thank you all so much for caring and helping Isaac with his teeth. Dr. Yale is great. He had seen some activity last check up. He told me exactly what to do, and it helped.

Love them! Katie and staff are great. So sweet and so patient with the kids. My little boy was afraid of the X-ray machine and for some reason was afraid of the tools this last visit but they were so patient with him and they got him to trust them and they got the X-rays done and we had a successful visit! They don’t want them to be afraid of the dentist and they go out of their way to make it fun for the little ones. Love this place and wish this place and staff were around when I was little.

They saw my two daughters age 7 and 4. Experience was amazing. Waiting room was very entertaining for them. Dental experience was fast, easy and scare free. All staff personel was very friendly as well.

We moved our 3 children from Smile Stars to Yale Pediatric. My children were not excited about going to the dentist and it was my youngest first time. However, they loved it! They said this was their favorite dentist appointment they have ever had! Dr. Katie McClendon was so sweet and my children loved her! They also were able to show me how good my children were brushing there teeth and where they need to work on brushing better. (This would have been very helpful years ago, if the other dentist office would have done this.) All the girls in this office were super friendly and I am so happy we changed! They also allowed me to go in the back with my kids which was comforting to them.

Ive been taking my kids to Yales for almost 3 years now and couldnt ask for better dentist and staff. I recently to my 3 year old for the first time, i was nervous about how he would respond. They made him feel so comfortable and they are always so nice and made not only my boys at ease but myself as well. This is the most child friendly, organized, professional dentist office I have ever had the pleasure of interacting. They are wonderful at making the kids feel comfortable and getting their jobs done with the added difficulties of babies/toddlers/children. My 3 youngest children are so happy to go here every 6 months. For a place with no toys, the kids are so entertained with the decor and friendly staff, they dont want to leave! I am so happy we found this place and will bring our kids until they age out of the practice. Can not give this dentist office and their staff enough stars, 5 is just not enough!!!!

Love Yale Dentisty!! The office is very kid friendly and designed specifically for children. When walk in the door you are greeted by whimsical and brightly decorated waiting area. It is like stepping into the bayou. There is beautiful mural on the walls, a giant tree with tablets to entrain the little ones while they wait. There is a boat and two large TVs. The receptionists are always very welcoming. The hygienist are in all in one large room. Parents are welcomed to sit next to their child while they have their teeth cleaned. There are private rooms for more extensive works such as filling cavities, crowns, sealants or extractions. They welcome you to bring your own dvd or they can provide one for your child so they can watch their favorite movie while being worked one. I have been to several other dentists before finding Yale none can even compare to Yale. The atmosphere is so welcoming and calming, my children feel at ease. The nurses and doctors take the stress out of going to the dentist. My kids look forward to going to the dentist now. No more fights which is a huge win!! Dr Katie is AMAZING!!! I absolutely love her! She is so great with my children remembers them by name! Oh and there’s no cheating because my kids go by their middle names! All the hygienists are amazing! So wonderful with children . They will not hold your child down or force them to clean their teeth which I think is wonderful! They want it to be a pleasant experience not a traumatic one. Thank you Dr Yale and Dr Katie! We love Yale Pediatric Dentistry!

At 1st my gbaby was super scared 😱 bc she had a small chipped tooth which cased root exposure so she associated dentist with Pain and was terrified!! well we decided it was best to let her go back on her own and kind of stand out of her site... bam 💥 it worked now that’s over with she Loves to go to the Dentist!! We have seen Dr. Katy and Dr. Yale and they are wonderful!! Also the staff is absolutely amazing!!! The office is soooo cute!!! Alll LSU decorated Floor looks like water there’s a little wooden boat 🚣‍♀️ and little LSU Tiger 🐯 on a tree... kids love it 😍 so do adults!! Kids can take turns playing on games...we love ❤️ our Dentist!!!

My child saw his primary care dentist when his filling fell out so they did everything and checked everything else out. That was the only problem. Well he all of a sudden had a fear of the drill after several trips so we were referred here this dentist claimed my child needed 5 caps, and told us he had 4 huge new cavities as well. Also theybwanted to put him to sleep in the hospital to do the peocedure thatbwould have been thousands of dollars. This was only 2 weeks after seeing his regular dentists. We did not elieve this was possible for all of this to appearr in 2 weeks time so we went to have a 2nd opinion at a very well known respectable dentist for children. Upon inspection they found NO new cavities and there was no need for any caps at all he can simply replace the filling that fell out. So 2 out of 3 dentist this being the 3rd . 2 of them said the same thing that nothing was there and caps werrent needed . The 3rd this place clained he neeed all thisnhorrible work done and wanred to put my child theough all kinda pain and suffering fr no reason. I advise getting a second opion if you go here

Dr. Yale and his entire staff are wonderful. He has a nice clean office and you can tell they take a lot of pride in their business. He is a young doctor and has his own young children so he is very patient and caring. My daughter is 6 and she had to have a filling I tried to be honest in preparing her for what was going to happen. Almost no point I think my honest talk had her scared for nothing.. She said she didnt even feel the shot, she just laid there watching her little movie and within what seemed like mere minutes, DONE! I told her I wish Dr. Yale was MY dentist! LOL!
