As of late I can no longer give a good review. Billing since the covid pandemic began is horrible, I am getting outstanding bills from a year ago. I only get prescriptions that are good for 30 days and when my pharmacy calls in a refill I have about a 50 50 chance of getting it refilled on time. I call the office and leave a message since nobody answers the phone during normal business hours and when I leave a message, nobody returns my call. Now Im going to run out of medicine, and the medication I take is dangerous to just stop taking. This has happened to me a few times and has happened to my wife many many times. My wife has brought this to Dr. Bashirs attention multiple times. When you are dealing with patients who have medications for psychological treatment you cannot just leave them hanging and make excuses as to why their prescriptions arent getting filled in a timely manner. Im also not happy that I am never provided refills and my prescription has to be called in every month. I have never tried to refill early and have never asked for an increase in my dose. I should not be held hostage to get my medication. This office used to be easy to deal with, but not anymore. I hate to switch doctors, but I may not have a choice...

Had to wait a month just for them to tell me they canceled appointment due to lost paper work. Paperwork was done early on and they could not find it. The major problem I have with them is they lied about calling and did not own up to their mistake losing the paperwork. They did not event try to work with me. Receptionist at front of desk don`t even know what they are doing and are very rude.

Dr. Bashir has been helping my family for years and is wonderful. He listens and talks with you to make sure that your treatment is right for you. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

He is not prepared at all. You meet with the therapist who dont work for him or with him. He meets with you for 15 minutes and appointment over. His office staff are stuck in 90s they have a very difficult time billing your insurance and Obtaining your medical record. Nothing is electronic in this office and you end up filling out same paperwork multiple times.

I have been treated for depression over a couple decades with minimal success. I am 62 Years old and Dr. Bashir pinpointed my problem on the first visit. After testing it turns out that I am adhd . My categories were so high he said I was borderline bi-polar. Dr. Bashir saw the problem within 5 minutes of talking to me. He is a kind man as well.

Ive seen Dr. Bashir for medication management for many years. He is NOT a therapist, he manages medication and does that very well. You must understand that before visiting him.He is very much on-time with his appointment schedule and you will not have to wait more than a couple of minutes past your time, if hes not early.Dr. Bashir is thorough and has a set way of doing his appointments. However, at times, He rushes you and will not let you complete sentences before he interrupts assuming what you were going to say.It took some time to grow accustomed to his appointments and the rigidity of them. I like knowing what to expect from Dr. Bashir. No Surprises. I need that.

Dr. Bashir is not a therapist, but his skills in communication is lacking to the point it affects his pyschiatry. It is important as the prescriber of medicine to have a thorough understanding of your patients needs. The patient cannot tell you directly their diagnosis. For a person being treated for High Anxiety might need medicine for Depression as well. I understand that Doctor Bashir is not the type of doctor to push out a lot of medicine, but as a long term patient, I felt that the issues I was having was not fully addressed until I received inpatient treatment at connected hospital. I could understand if he didnt understand because it was a new issue, but it was a problem that my medicine for my main diagnosis had not been able cover since I started it. I went to his specialist years ago, and what was added to my medicine regiment was what was told after those tests. There are three psychiatrists in Decatur, Illinois. They are not terrible doctors, but they I would make sure to look within them and outside of them before settling in one place because based on your needs, you may need a different kind of help.
