I had a mammogram on last Tuesday. Today is Tuesday the 12th. My appointment was scheduled a month out. The day of my appointment my wait wasnt long before I was actually called.. My nurse was name Faith. She was very professional & knowledgeable about my procedure. The Dr./ Tech was also very kind , and knowledgeable. They both talked to me and told me exactly what they were doing.. I had no problems, the procedure went smoothly.I had a great experience @ Decatur Comprehensive Breast Center. My first time.. I like to thank everyone from the receptionist to the nurse, & tech...My recovery at home has gone well, no problems. A week later and Im waiting on my results. Believing in my heart all is well.πŸ™πŸ™

Eat and drink before you come. Have your headphones and phone charged and ready. These people are nice but they have people coming in here with 8am appointments and it’s 10:17am and I still haven’t been seen. They need to start letting people know in advance this is an all day event. Call off work and don’t plan anything. This is absolutely ridiculous. I’m so ticked off.

First, I want to share that having a Mammogram can be the difference between life and death and I am completely and whole-heartedly for them! Despite the fact that they are about as much fun as a dirt sandwich they are necessary.Secondly, I had, at the behest of my Surgeon and General Practitioner returned to the Comprehensive Breast Care Center at Emory because I had previous mammograms conducted at this location and on their technology. This is a great best practice as it allows them to see how your breast tissue looks year over year.Third, they are clearly unprepared. My appointment was at 11:45am and I arrived at 10:45am to provide myself with enough time to park, get any necessary paperwork out of the way through their registration team. Even though, I came fully prepared with my identification, my health insurance information and a referral for my 3-D mammogram from my General Practitioner, they were not staffed to deal with folks being prepared. They clearly were not. The registration is run with Soviet-era efficiency. I received an eye-roll when I mentioned that my mammogram needed to be sent to my surgeon who is part of the same healthcare system. They clearly are not trained in kindness or efficiency.Fourth, you are sent to a room to change and told to sit in small rooms with other folks. During pre-pandemic times I would have no problem with this. Even while we were masked there was an older woman pulling her mask down to cough with reckless abandon within the small room. With no one in that room policing it ensure that people had read the signs to keep your mask on whilst in the medical facility. This was my queue to step into the well-ventilated corridor and walk to get fresh air whilst getting my steps in.Fifth, it took my surgeon walking into a Breast health surgery to notify someone that I had been waiting for my appointed time. I waited 45 minutes before being summoned for my mammogram. Luckily, I had a great Mammogram Technician named Jeanine. She had a great bedside manner and engaged me in conversation so that I was not too terribly uncomfortable during the mammogram. WAIT FOR IT! This is the part that I found most shocking, as I was completely naked from the waste up the Lead Mammogram Technician walked into the room! She opened the door all the way so the world could see everything. Outside of a medical procedure, I normally have exchanged phone numbers, fluids, and last names with the person that has the privilege of viewing my β€œgirls”. Be mindful, that I was in shock, as the Lead Tech did not knock, she did not address herself, or even introduce herself. Also, she did not communicate why she had to walk into the room to begin with! This was tremendously rude and highly unprofessional. In short, I would think twice before booking an appointment during the day. Try for the first appointment of the day. And, ask for Jeanine - She was the best! The one star if for Jeanine.

Personnel were very cordial and professional, but I did not appreciate being asked to arrive half hour early for an 8:00 appt (that I had to wait over 2 months for)...and to be still waiting to be seen at 9:15. Everything CANNOT be blamed on covid.

My OB sent in a referral for a routine mammogram. I got 3 robocall with the option to connect to scheduling - where I was left on hold 3 times for up to 20 minutes before hanging up. I called independently 6 times over a week and wasted a lot of time and could never get a single scheduler to pick up the phone. I called a different location hoping they could schedule me at this location. I live on the same street and could walk. What horrible customer service. I ended up scheduling online with Peidmont while on hold at Emory/Dekalb. The time Id have saved walking was wasted waiting on hold. What is wrong with this place????
