Went there in May to have my frames adjusted they chip my lens It took three weeks to get my glasses back went back in August and the new lens are chipping and they said it won’t have Nothing they could do then they told me to come back to get our appointment. nothing they could do then they told me to come back to get eye ExamineI just wanted to say I will never go back to that place they are a bunch of rip offs

Knuckleheads, waisted my time and money. Sold me 3 pairs of glasses with 3 different prescriptions. Horrible service and totally unprofessional. The sad part about is that it’s a hinderance. I have a pair for driving and another for reading books such as a map for driving. Then there’s the other pair for computing such as a gps. How can anyone wear three pairs of glasses or switch them out while driving safely? Never again will visit any business related to that shady organization. Someone told me Walmart is better. Complete jerk move and now I have to go somewhere else to get another pair. There grade should be a zero since the problem was not solved.

Friendly staff and nice selection of glasses. I feel theyre very understaffed and wait times are horribly long. Expect to spend extra time on your visit.

America’s Best in Danville, Va. is probably the worst place to get a pair of glasses! They pull you in by offering certain deals with a free eye exam but then proceed to to try and scheme you out of the deal by adding unnecessary add ons such as scratch resistant lenses, uv protection, and they always make you think your lenses will look like coke bottles unless you pay extra for their special lenses 🤦‍♂️. Okay so now you have been duped out of the special you came in for and you think the nightmare is over… wrong.. now it takes forever to get those pair of glasses you just ordered back. A week passes by and nothing. By week two you begin to worry so you call the store. Your met with a kind person who says; “Thank you for contacting America’s Best; would you like to make an appointment to see our optometrist?” As soon as you say no; that your calling to check on your order.. the person on the phone who greeted you so kindly; their whole mood changes. Your then get in a rude voice; “Whats your name and date of birth.” Your then placed on hold for 5 to 10 minutes and when the person comes back they proceed to tell you your glasses are expected by this date and you will receive an automated phone call saying your glasses have come in. They hang up.. So that date comes and you still receive nothing so you call back and receive the exact same thing all over again only this time your told they received glasses in but they are being checked and once they have been checked ; again you will receive an automated call. It has been 16 days since my first initial visit and I have still yet to receive this automated phone call. I will never purchase another pair of glasses from AMERICA’S NOT THE BEST CONTACTS & EYEGLASSES! It’s just not worth the hassle or the money!!Edit as of June 26, 2021.. once again I called the store to check on my glasses that we’re supposedly already in and had to be checked Friday. Was told I would receive an automated call later Friday afternoon after they were checked. Saturday rolls around and I still had not received this so called automated call. My wife finally took it upon herself to call the store and was met with the same friendly greeting and demeanor change after finding out it was a call checking on an order. My wife was placed on hold for 10 minutes and once the woman returned; she informed my wife that my glasses were indeed there and ready for pickup. This is the third time I have purchased glasses at America’s Best and never received any phone call letting me know they were in and ready to be picked up. As I mentioned previously; I will never purchase glasses from America’s Best ever again or at least not the one in Danville, Va.

Veterans beware having eye problems after exam & no glasses I thought the Doctor was unprofessional hurt my eyes during exam.These people seem to be only interested in getting u to buy Eye Glasses. @ a high price. Not the health of your eyes.

Super great experience! Troy, the manager was exceptionally nice and was able to answer all my questions. He worked really hard to make sure I got the right frames and the right lenses. I will definitely be going back AND asking for Troy!

I specifically chose your place of business because of the amazing deal on frames with no line bifocals, two pairs of glasses, and a free eye exam. Imagine my dismay when told the ONE pair of frames, displayed with the 69.95 price,would cost me 385.00. when asked about the discrepancy, the associate had little information as to why. He could not answer my questions and was intent on selling me the two pair for 69.95. I repeatedly told him I needed bifocals. I traveled 80 miles to get to your store. I am very disappointed in your service and advertising. I will tell everyone I know about this experience. Some one definitely dropped the ball.

I would like to thank the manager for calling me today and giving me the great news that my daughters contacts were in. He also was very personable and made me feel like a valued customer. He apologized for my experience. Kindness goes a long way in my book. He was very busy helping customers when I came in today, but thanks again Troy. You are awesome. It is obvious you take pride in your work!!!! You saved the day!************************************Yesterday 1 starI normally dont do this, but rude and wrong ticks me off. I found the doctor and the technician to be delightful. They were patient and knowledgeable. However, the support staff seems to need more training on customer service. We were told by staff that sample contacts would be order and in within 3-5 days. After calling back after 7 days, a staff member tells me because of the strength of the contacts it could be up to 2 more weeks. They saw the prescription the day they ordered and didnt bother to mention this possibility. Even when I mentioned the strength of the prescription. This is an inconvenience that could have been avoided with a little effort made by staff. I was made to feel it was my fault I was given the wrong information. The staff member was short and unconcerned. This review is for the staff only. One bad apple! Ugh! Maybe take a day off if your attitude is crappy or quit!

After waiting for 10 minutes for someone to determine if they accept my insurance and watching them wait on two customers that came in after I did, I determined they wont get the chance to accept my insurance or my cash. Four people behind the counter and three customers in the store. Customer no-service at its finest!

I was expecting to get 2 pair of glasses for at least 100.00 with the advertisements said but I ended up paying 363.00 for one pair! Didnt really understand ! I know that I didnt have insurance but was really disappointed ! Ask questions more!

The staff was friendly however when I got to the end when we were doing feature sets I ended up getting sold on two conflicting feature sets which costs an extra 150+ dollars and the associate gave me a false statement saying that I should get the hardening treatment done to my bottomless frames claiming that it would make them harder to shatter since the lens were exposed and pair it with the lens glare coating. Not thinking I went ahead with it and it turns out hardening only makes them more scratch resistant and the lens glare coating scratches easier than the bare bones lenses. The only redeeming qualities was the selection of frames and how nice the staff was however make sure to know exactly what you are getting.

Recently purchased glasses from AB . The first part of the experience was tumultuous, with problems ranging from frames not in, card reader problems, and a few minor things. Was pretty discouraged. However, the staff was very persistent in resolving my issue and even gave me a discount for my trouble. After it was all said and done, I was happy with the outcome. Good job taking care of a customer and turning a fiasco into a success.

I would score less than one star, but there isnt an option for that. First, they didnt have an available appointment for 4 months, but I still scheduled one. I was required to arrive early for my appontment to complete paperwork. Not a big deal. Forty minutes after my scheduled appointment the next patient was called in. There were still 2 patients ahead of me. One of them had been waiting for an hour, and the other patients appointment was scheduled 5 minutes before mine. I decided to take my business elsewhere.

If I could give them no stars I would. My son broke glasses on Friday and needed repair. They said they couldn’t fix, didn’t have the frames anymore and order a new pair because his script expired. I asked for a copy to go somewhere else seeing as tho it’s an emergency but they couldn’t do that either. They don’t a dr to exams because he left so now my son has to go to school without glasses and suffer. I am not happy one bit. My family and I will not b going back to America’s Best.

The workers here act as if they dont know what they are doing.I called to get an exam for my son and they tell me they are booked until august 17th but cant schedule appointments after this because the doctor has not made a schedule yet and they dont know when it will be done but we will put your name down....not professional at all...then i asked if they can look up the last time my son got glasses there so i could renew the prescription it took forever for her to find any info then when she got back she said it looks like 2013 is that right...im like no maam it wasnt that long then she comes back with 2016 is that right...dang im asking you because i dont know and the paperwork infront of you not me...smh you should not be this slow at this type of work...not a happy customer at all....if i could pick zero stars i would

I have been to this place twice to buy a part of glasses. The first time they were very busy. The lady already made a copy of my rx so I told her I would come back when they were not so busy. She said try Wednesday because its not as busy. I came back wed and guess what it wasnt busy but no one had time to wait on me. I picked out a pair of frames took about 30 minutes I told them I found some she said ok I waited at that table for another 25 minutes Noone said anything to me so I got up and walked out needless to say I will never go there again. Went to sterling optical got my glasses in less than 20 mins. Lost that $450 sale not counting what my insurance paid as well.
