Great gym! Lowkey too

Quality equipment with a great assortment of free weights and machines. I’ve been a member for over three years and brought over more clients for them. Staff are always pleasant, polite, and willing to help. This gym is always being cleaned and add the good clientele that use this gym and it makes a great place to work out. Truly is a family and friendly atmosphere.I would have given five stars if not for “corporate” policy on ending a gym membership. My son was a gym member for over a year and was recently deployed in the Air Force. We could not cancel at the front desk but instead was informed that policy was to send a certified letter to “Corporate” to cancel a membership. Not only that but it takes an extra month of membership fees before it is terminated. (His unit gave him a week notice to deploy early). The only dirt is in the Renegade HQ in Connecticut. Charging an extra month on deploying American heroes, it is easier for a soldier to end a lease. I have debated calling my Senator on this practice of preying on military.

Gym was great, cancelling my membership was not. After they re opened from Covid I had fraudulent activity on my card that was linked to the gym so I canceled it. They didn’t get payment for 2 months, did not call me or send me a bill but sent me to collections over less than $50. When calling their corporate office they tagged on return fees, my maintenance fee that just started that month (mind you if hadn’t even been there all year due to Covid) and wouldn’t be returning the whole year because I was cancelling. Then they told me I’d have to send a certified letter to cancel and my payment was going to be due again soon which means another $40 charge. After threatening to sue them they canceled my membership $130 later worst experience ever for a cancelling a gym membership.

When Renegade closed due to COVID-19, I received an e-mail basically stating that I would continue to be charged because no one was working to take in cancellations. When I received notice that they reopened, I e-mailed that day to cancel my membership; this cancellation was confirmed by Chris Grubbs, Renegade Regional Manager. I just received a collection call stating I owed money. As an attorney, you can bet Im referring this to the state as an unfair trade practice.

The best gym I have ever been a member of! The equipment is maintained and the gym is always clean. The staff is polite and kind, and the kids room helps tremendously if you have young children! The shakes are really good and always made to perfection!

We have been members for approximately 8 years or more. Things have changed so has some of the Staff . I have watch the manager Marina work very hard to keep up with members expectations . Things sometimes take time to accomplish . Kudos to the staff that greet us, dealing with all personalities isn’t easy.Met the manager of personal training Chris, who offered many points for losing weight and working out to strive for my needs that I have tried to do for a long time.Dan also a great trainer that I have watched motivate many people for many years. Has given me advice through the years I have been there and takes his job very serious to have people accomplish what they are paying for.Thank you Dan.Keep up the good work.

The facility, staff and culture of the location in Cranston is amazing. As a member for over 3 years they were always helpful and attentive.The reason for the low rating is for 2 reasons, the first one is minor but a nuisance 1. they no longer have paper towels, so after youre done sweating on the treadmill and weights you have the fantastic experience of washing your face and then holding it under a blower if youd like to be dry. This is in the locker room as well as the main floor, they apparently value a movie theater in a gym more than paper towels. And 2. Be ready for their cancellation policy. I moved so I needed to cancel. Think you need to go in to the gym to cancel? Nope, think you need to call? Nope. You need to send snail-mail to CT with a written consent asking to stop your membership, then youre done right? WRONG. It needs to either Certified mail or Registered mail that only 1 person in CT can accept. Funny how anyone can TAKE my money but only 1 person can stop the billing... through the Certified/Registered USPS like its 1965.

This gym is very welcoming! I can get done what I need to get done without any complaints. Favorite part about this club is the Cardio Theater room where they play a different movie everyday. Great and friendly staff, tasty smoothies for an energy boost, and really nice machines and weights. All around a good place to shed some Lbs.

If I could give negative points I would. Worst gym I’ve ever been a member of. Rude and unprofessional and unhelpful staff in Cranston. When you want to cancel your membership. You Have to send a certified letter to their corporate office and give a 30 days notice. Just so they can charge you one more month and collect before they cancel. Biggest mistake ! I’d rather rejoin LA Fitness!

As I walked in I felt intimidated because going to a gym is never easy for me. As I entered I was greeted by a gentleman by the name of Chris the regional Manager who explained to me everything Renegade had to offer how he had just signed on with the company and how Renegade truly wants to see it’s members excell. He even took the time to take me around and find out what I wanted to accomplish. Everyone was very nice and made me feel as if that was where I was suppose to be!

In the end i needed to cancel my membership and they told me i had to mail a letter to the main office in CT. WHAT YEAR IS IT? do I provide my own passenger pigeon as well? That is a trash way of making people feel like theyd rather just hang onto the membership for a little longer instead of paying for postage and hand writing a letter.

Love this gym. Staff is friendly and the gym goers are a good crowd! Always clean.. plus they offer childcare, have tanning, a sauna, and a theater room 💪

Definitely one of the nicest gyms Ive ever been too. The daycare is great and the staff is awesome! The smoothies are amazing BTW!

I was a member for three years or so and liked it quite a bit, although the massive cage in the middle of the gym is certainly annoying. I wish the equipment layout was a better. Canceling your membership is also a bit of a headache. But all in all, I enjoyed my membership.

Best gym with the best equipment in the Northeast. Staff was very friendly and place was very Clean...Marina Murray, Manager of the location was a pleasure to speak with. You can tell she takes pride in the location. More gyms need to take ownership like that.. You have to visit...

I’ve been a member for 10 or more years. Yes, things have changed as far as staff. The important thing is that there are so many commited Staff members that have remained Carmine “Always supporting me” ❤️Marina works so hard. Dan I only like him when I’m not training with him😉. Jenn, Lindsay , Lori, Lea, Gary etc... I consider them not only my mentors but it’s a wonderful family. They have all touched my life in so many ways!!! 60lbs lost 20 lbs gained ups and downs literally! Your not getting any better anywhere. Always new ideas new programs. The motivation and help is there. I’m so happy to have met such an amazing group of people. They motivate me everyday!!! Forget the paper towels the stupid stuff remember why your their!!! Be Happy, smile it’s worth it ok maybe one complaint MORE SPIN CLASSES!!!! Keep up the great work. The new owners are lucky to have you all and so am I. In good health 🧘‍♀️Paula

I been an employee of this establishment for almost 6 years I become very close to the members and employees.This gym is the best place to workout and work because I been workingout at other gym and they dont come close to this place being clean and equipment that we have at this facility. I am blessed to be a part of Renegade thank you Bill and Sue

Good staff, good members. A suggestion to burndt william: Most fitness center’s staff and life coaches are there for members who have questions or want a trainer. Which means you have to approach them. They’ll really only come up to you otherwise if your using equipment wrong or about to hurt yourself. Doesn’t make them poor management.

I’ve been going there for 4-5 years and lots of transition but the main staff that have stayed do an unbelievable job

No management. young help they do not care about you they will jjust take your money stay away
