Was skeptical for the longest time about going here from all the bad reviews online but I finally tried it for myself and it’s the nicest gym I’ve been to. Yeah the equipment isn’t perfect but there are enough machines that plenty work just fine. I also saw them actually fixing one which could mean they’re proactive about maintaining them. Huge sauna, nice pool, just a really nice establishment compared to WOW or planet fitness. They’re cheaper for a reason.

Good selection of equipment, any time a machine goes down you can expect itll be down for a while. Cardio equipment is severely neglected... They are somehow always missing 2 or 3 Olympic bars so you have to take one from the bench if you want to do decline or one from incline to do shoulder press, ect..

Long story short: dont sign up here. Its insanely dirty, equipment is never where it should be, lots of equipment is in disrepair and worst of all the members are sketchy (there have been hostile arguments in the change room and parking lot on multiple occasions which is super awkward/ uneasy to be around). Overall a terrible environment if you want to come workout or just blow off some steam. I thought it would be fancy gym because its at market garden but wow was I wrong. In my opinion its worth driving a couple extra minutes for ANY other gym. I am just a regular person with a 9-5 whos been working out my whole life. Do better guys..

This is a clean wonderful gym. It has kickboxing classes AB classes Zumba and many more. The people there are wonderful! Dante is in sales feel free to visit him. Hes a very nice person.

It was fun, pretty relaxing for pool & spa day. However they need a clothes ringer machine in both locker rooms it will really make this entire fitness center a plus.

I like it here. The grass area is fun to workout in. It’s great when it’s not super crowded

Dont even bother with this gym since corporate is so bad. If you have an issue, good luck resolving it. Youll either get pressured into just not cancelling by money hungry staff, or you wont even get a returned call after calling their corporate office for 7 days straight. Just dont even waste your time and go to Planet Fitness instead.

Came to sign up today, spoke with the fitness sales manager, robert g, who said he was the general manager of the entire gym, and he was unbelievably rude. No manners, no people skills, told me something completely different about pricing when you sign up then the other sales person i spoke with yesterday. The gym was filthy. The bathrooms were dirty and unkept. The hot tub was really dirty. No spray to clean the equipment. The treadmill and elliptical were disgusting and caked with dirt and there was trash littered all over the floor across the gym.Robert g has no business working with the public. He tried to keep my id while i worked out saying it was protocol and when i asked why he threw the id back at me and said buddy you can keep it its just protocol. I cant stress enough how rude he was. 0/10 would not even recommend this gym on a free day pass.

Different exercise classes such as yoga, zumba , mat pilates etc with good instructor along with all gym equipment made this a great choice for anybody looking for getting fit. Highly recommended. Although charges are high.

I LOVE the pool! It’s first come first serve so I don’t need to sign up and the best part is there’s no restrictions with kid swim times or anything! I love that they keep it open all day so I can come before or after work, so much better than the YMCA

The facility is awesome. I left edge because it was way too crowded and I felt like a sales number. Here they took the time to listen to what I was looking for and find me a membership that worked for my budget. Dan and his staff are great!

The gym is set up differently than other gyms around. Seems like the only one not going to screw with you. No cancellation fees.My experience so far has been great I joined during Covid and they take it pretty serious. Masks are assumed to stay on at all times but if you need to take it off for a second you won’t be kicked out. With that being said I’ve personally witnessed two members get kicked out of the gym due to not wearing masks while walking around the main gym area.

Bubbler not working and can not get water

You really have to go in and ignore pretty much everything. If you’re afraid of Covid stay home, although this place would get a C for it. Hand sanitizers are empty a lot. The tinder crowd is there/back. One would think after all the time they’ve had to close that all of their machines would work? Lol.. anyway. Not a person for classes, pool or the shower so no opinion on that. You have to go in, get the job done and be out. As always best on off times. Your other option is Edge but that staff has had a case too many Red Bull’s, although they have cleaning products everywhere.

LA Fitness has done everything in their power to make it difficult to cancel a membership. Even though they have been closed and or reduced their hours, membership rates and charges never reflected reduction of service/access. On top of these issues theyve updated their mobile app so that you cannot view your account details AT ALL and can no longer view your membership card unless your location reads that you are within 500ft of a gym. These changes are clear obstruction meant to impede a members ability to easily access their account online. If you are able to actually get to your online account, you cant cancel there, no, you have to print a paper (which doesnt require a signature or anything else that would maybe necessitate a printed form), and then mail it in to your gym.This company is predatory.

Most people in the gym is not wearing mask or the mask is half way down. We complained to the people worked there but they said the corporate office ignored their request so they dont have enough people to remind gym members they need to wear a mask. Anyway, no one is regulating people working out there with their mask. The gym is gambling with its own luck with COVID.

Quiet environment with helpful individuals

Nice equipment and space, but management is a joke. Gym is constantly cluttered, bathrooms constantly out of soap/paper towels, no attempt at enforcing mask policy during COVID, broken equipment sitting there unfixed for months... be prepared to beg for weeks if you want anything doneVery disappointing for a name brand gym that is not cheap

Great experience. Worked with Ritchie, the Assistant General Manager. He went out of his way for my sister and I. Answered all our questions, gave us time to think about our decision, and made sure we felt welcomed. Loving this gym so far!

Great gym! Great people. I’ve been a member for awhile and have no complaints. Personal trainers are always there to help if I need some assistance. For 30-40 a month.

Im starting to feel ripped off by this gym. We where not able to use this facility for almost 4 month. Then when they open they take there annual fee of almost 50.00 plus the 30.00 a month for membership fee. Half the equipment is out of oder due to covid-19. We are not able to use half the exercise bikes, the pool, the locker room and lockers. Plus the place close at 5 on weekends. I can go over to 24 hour fitness anytime. Im reall close to canceling my membership.Oh I forgot to mention we are not able to use the water fountain!!! This place is a RIP off. Plus its a mess more than half the time.

Great gym with excellent staff that handle any questions you might have in a proper and professional way. Don’t get me started on the Personal training program. AMAZING trainers will help you get to your goals!

I would definitely leave 0 stars on this place if I could. It is always dirty, the bathrooms are never clean/stocked, and the gym equipment is always broken and never in the right place. It is also crazy busy and you have to constantly wait for machines and benches. The staff is super unhelpful and they never know what they are doing most of the time. When we tried to cancel our membership we were given the run around and no one could tell us how to cancel it. It took us a week for someone to figure it out. The personal trainers there are also creepy and overbearing. They will follow members around the gym asking if you need help and then try and get you to sign up for a personal training session. They have a large area of the gym that they have also blocked off for personal training only, and yell at paying members if you use this space. But at the same time they steal all the members gym equipment and put it in this space without putting it back so you cant use it. So in conclusion, TERRIBLE GYM. Do NOT sign up for a membership here. It is a big waste of money!!!!!

Super clean and very helpful staff!

A decent enough gym. For $30 a month I have access to the Cranston and Warwick gym. The gym itself is pretty much the average chain gym, no real complaints other than the occasional shower with no water pressure or missing paper towels in the locker room. The equipment is mostly nice and functioning well, as clean as you can expect from a gym of this size and membership count.

They are making the best of these Covid times

Nice facilities. Lockers have wood laminate, which looks expensive on surface. Theres a laps pool, and full indoor basketball court. Baisc gym equipment, but mostly machines. Small dedicated cardio area. Price is high, at like $60 a month, if I remember correctly. I was also offered a job interview by the owner, but they did not show up (not penalizing score for this; make your own judgement. Im rating facility and general staff). Oh, staff was very friendly.

In general, I do not understand why this club is rated so highly. Ive been to this gym almost a full year now, and I can firmly say that the overall quality of service and cleanliness is poor. The only reason why I am still here is because it is the closest gym to my house. The staff does little to no effort to keep the equipment and saunas maintained. They are always dirty every time I go. I am unsure what the people at the front counter actually do, because they just seem to be just on their phones most of the time and dont even say as much as a greeting. Will I still go to this gym? Yes, but only because its at a convenient location. Do I personally like the overall quality? Its tolerable, but the definitely can be improved.

Clean. When they 1st opened this gem I went but didnt like it because I didnt think it was clean and since that is very clean and the staff is excellent.

I have been going to LA Fitness for almost 2 yrs.now. A special thank you to Richard (Rico) King a trainer who works at the Cranston gym. I have been dealing with minor physical problems that he has helped me immensely. He takes the time to know his clients needs. I fine him very knowledgeable and passionate about fitness. He has a vibrant personality, energetic, caring and full of vim and vigor. LA Fitness is so lucky to have him

Wonderful gym, Monthly payment that fits my budget with a basketball court and the juice bar that has the right prices. However, whenever I order a protein shake after a workout I will always tip and except to get the rest of the shakes but not always, only once in the blue moon they will ask or offer the rest. Otherwise the gym is great.

I offered one star because it is the only way to review, had I had a choice I would rate it minus stars. This place is a joke. The place if filthy, locker room is filthy, smelly and wet! Besides the nightly janitorial service, the place is not cleaned or reorganized by staff who from my observations are there to scan you in and hang out or play with their phones.The average time I go in there are dbs all over in the strangest places, people on there phones, taking up space on machines not working out. You have a slimy looking character who looks like he needs a gym, this guy prays on women and sells his personal training services. It is a circus, I canceled my membership thinking it was just a few off days, yeah... NO. They have a wall that has a sign on it telling people not to lean on it because the drywall is broken up, why not just fix it? Been that way for a long time... I just dont think anyone in management including the owner of this franchise either knows or cares, its one or the other. I go with cares, otherwise the place would not be in the shape it is in.There are places that respect their clients, through more than a greeting, they show it by the cleanliness and organization of their establishments.

Tuesday spinning class does not have the best set up, u can register online but people miss the class all the time and the bike goes unused, or someone takes ur spot even if you register.Place needs better pool maintenance.Also you see children playing in the pool without supervision from parents

The downstairs always has a faint smell of gym socks, and the basketball court is always jam packed during evening hours. However, we enjoy using the pool and they do have a lot of machines.

First gym I’ve ever been to, it’s really big so doesn’t seem like there’s a lot of people in there lots of workout stuff too I like it I’d recommend to friends

I just had the absolute best experience with ROB on the phone he got me signed up for a new membership, I have never been so happy he was so nice and extremely helpful I really could not be happier.

Not sure about the negative complaints. If you looking for a gym thats personal and quality staffing as far as coaching and personality goes then this may not be the gym for you. If you know what your doing and just want to stick you headphones in and get a workout in the place is great.

Can anyone think no music for yoga... Zumba...The music player on second floor classroom was broken for almost 2 weeks. And I guess la fitness manager really dont care about!! Because no one come in to fix it.Front desk people always on their phone. Sometime I need to wait until they finish their typing...poor customer service...

Could be cleaner. Basketball court always seems to be having a problem. The staff there doesn’t seem interested in making sure their guests are happy. Lot of machine issues and equipment repair signs on treadmills/ellipticals

L.A. Fitness is the finest health club in Rhode Island. I have been a member at several gyms over the past few years, and have never been so satisfied with a membership purchase. The facility offers more than any other in the area, including free fitness classes like yoga and kickboxing. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, capable of helping beginners start their fitness program, or helping advanced members improve their exercise routine. Both the locker room and the gym floor are spotless at all hours of the day. I highly recommend LA fitness to anyone interested in exercising to better themselves.

Lady at the front desk (Kaitlin) is extremely rude. Normally people who work front desk jobs at an establishment acknowledge your presents with a hi or hello its common customer service skills, not her. I felt like she didnt want to be there or answer any questions I had. I asked her when the other locations were to open and in mid sentence she walked away to get someone else to attend to me.

This gym was super friendly and so welcoming . My friend and I came from Florida and are members and the GM Robert helped us feel super comfortable in a new gym and was so welcoming . We originally went to the LA FITNESS IN Pawtucket and we told the manager Regent our situation , that we are members but only in Florida and we just wanted a one day pass , and he said in exact words “ the more days you’re here, the more money you can throw at us”!! We were appalled and left immediately. How can you talk to members like that???! We will never go back there again. If you’re looking for a friendly staff and a great environment to work out in , definitely come to this location ! Super friendly environment and GREAT staff 👏🏼

I am being charge 29.99/month for a single club when it is being offered for 24.99 online. Shouldnt matter if this is a new promotion if its being offered to other people for a lower price someone who has been an established member for years should be able to get the lower pricing. Gym is dirty- the staff is horrible when they arent ignoring you at the front desk they are talking about their sex lives while they work out on the gym floor they are EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL and rude 2 thumbs down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friendliest gym in Rhode Island, hands down! My friend and I came from out of town and were looking for a place to workout at. We went to the LA fitness in Pawtucket first and the staff was so rude!!! Regent, the operations manager at that location, told my friend i these exact words, “the more days you come to the gym, the more money you can throw to me” being super rude to us, we didn’t like that comment and left immediately and came to this location in Cranston and got treated like family!! Definitely go see Rob (the General Manager) he will take care of You and make sure you get the best experience.

This place is so dirty. Pool area is disgusting, green mold is everywhere on the floor and the hot tub has a layer of dirt/skin/hair swimming in the bubbles. No one seems to clean that area for months or years. It was not so bad about a year ago but now I can’t even use it anymore.

Great equipment, solid pool. Just the lack of cleanliness in the locker rooms, bathrooms and showers I cannot forgive. Bugs everywhere and the floors are just dirty.I mean, its a gym, tough to clean with people walking in and out all the time, but come on... figure it out

Very dishonest personal. Most of them. When I sing up I went alone and they offer me family plans only. When I found out about Single plans I had to spent 1 hour with the manager to downgrade membership.Also, I asked them for a guest pass the first day and they deny itGym is good, but you will be by your own

Gym has a nice atmosphere to workout in, just too overcrowded on Mon - Wed nights. Not enough machines, and too many people hogging them. I guess guys really need to do 10 sets on the pull-down, while doing obnoxious arm movements after each set, or flip through their phone for a few minutes.

I just went in to ask a few questions. The girl at the front desk was so rude (Kaitlyn) she completely ignored me for 5 minutes or so. YouShould always have someone pleasant to greet people.

Clean and organized

All in all a good gym. Great variety of equipment and services. They have a huge wright room, spin room, saunas, aerobics, basketball court and heavy bags. Lots of great ways to stay in shape. Thos gym has a high volume of people so cleanliness can be an issue. I wpuld like to see them do a bit more to kerp up with cleaning and maintenance to keep up with the crowds

When i first Walk in To inroll they got me waiting 15 minutes while they where all chatting with one other and the person that was supposed to show me around the gym was on her phone chatting as well. When I was about no to live the came to me. No work ethics. The pool smell too much like Clorox, that I wouldnt even dear to jump in that water plus the water looks dirty. The woman locker rooms where filthy. The only thing I truly like was the big room where they have private classes that when is empty I can workout alone. Need better training on their employ not much the front desk but the one that you inroll with.

Customers aware....So I signed up for the trainers program for 6 month with the past trainer manager Bob, when the program is done I found out he signed me for a year, and I had no idea, he excuses is that he sent an email but while we were doing the sign up, he was talking to me, explaining what was everything about, what was my goal ect... so I didnt noticed about the 1 yrs but my trainer set up a 6 month program because me and him thought it was a 6 month membership, I called customers services and they said that the VP of the company said that theres nothing they can do because I signed up for the 1 yr, which it wasnt, I know the manager wanted his commission but thats not how you do business. The current manager Alito is great.

The cranston location is the best location hands-down the general manager Robert Gruber is the man. My billing got messed up so My membership got canceled. I originally went to the Warwick location and they said I needed to pay a new initiation fee and start a new account paying more than I was paying before. I then went to Cranstom to give it one last shot before going to another gym That’s when Rob stepped in and saved the day Because of him and only him I am still a happy LA fitness member. Don’t get me wrong it’s the cleanest gym around and largest but customer service is everything and Robert delivered five-star customer service. I was in and out 10 minutes tops He showed empathy and was professional.

Working outside is though , specially when nature calls , this morning I was working outside the gym so I figure if I needed to go, they most have facilities. when the time came , I went inside and asked if I could use the bathroom and this person ,very nicely told me, yes and pointed to where they were. 3-4 hours passed and bam ,again but since I had asked before , I figured I would just make my way over... I was wrong, This woman looked at my like I was from a different planet and stopped me, turned out , it was the manager . How dared I stepped foot inside her club This should not have been an issue at all since people use the bathroom several time a day but she was the manager and did not let me use it for a second time. How horrible can a person be to deny another the use of a bathroom? And this was the manager what little social skill she got on top of lack of decency.

They make it virtually impossible for you to cancel your membership. Decent gym I guess... just terrible employees and company as a whole.

Locker-rooms are dirty you will find toilet paper all over. Toilet paper dispensers are usually broken. Need to learn from successful LAs

I always come to this location when I am in town!! The usual branch I go to in CT is so disgusting but unfortunately its the closest one to me at home. This location is very busy but so it is sometimes hard to get certain weights or machines but business is a testament to the good job they do. I read a couple other reviews that say its dirty and weights are left everywhere but from my experiences, I do not seen those issues here. Could be desensitized as those complaints are legitimate for the Newington location but this location I give a big thumbs up! Love the machines and all the different free weight options, the spin bikes are new and the machines upstairs for cardio are all nice and new too. Another perk is the power bar I love their protein shakes! Theyre doing a good job in my opinion
