Was my dentist for 18 plus years, haven’t been in months; now they don’t accept “new patients” even tho I been a patient almost 20 years! Wouldn’t recommend they won’t even consider fixing my tooth. Poor poor customer service!

I have been a patient for many years. Being a business owner that deals with the public I feel most people dont take the time to give that special call, just a simple thanks for the special treatment they receive. My experience with Dr. Matrullo and his wonderful staff is outstanding very professional. I have had work done that has improved my confidence in my smile. Keep up the great work and again thank you for your wonderful care.

I cant explain how satisfied I am with the service I receive at Dr. Matrullos office. Everyone is warm and friendly and I am seen right on time. Whats even better is that you get to watch tv while sitting in the chair!!! I encourage everyone in my family to go there. The doctors there are the best. I am grateful for the quality of work they perform.

They are more about the money than anything else. they make you wait and then rush you out. had a filling done and they didnt even offer me a mirror to look at the work. told me just to see the lady at the desk to set up my next visit. fake friendly they all are in the front desk. i would go to another place who care about the quality of work they do not just how many patients they can collect on.

I have been coming to Dr. Matrullos office ever since I moved to Rhode Island 7 years ago! It can be scary to find a doctor when you move somewhere new, but they were highly recommended by a friend. I love how I can get an appointment in no time when I wait until the last minute! They are very kind, explain processes the entire way through and really take care of the patient. These other reviews dont know what they are talking about! Even when I moved 30 minutes away from Cranston, I still drive here!

I came to Dr. Mattrullo on an emergency basis, probably 15 years ago, and have been a patient of his since then. He graciously met me at his office on a weekend, and was able to relieve my pain and deal with the problem. Since then he has not found any soft spots as others have written about, and he has been nothing but supportive, kind, and thorough. He has worked to save my teeth, and even though I have moved out of state, I will continue to return to Rhode Island to see my dentist, Dr. Paul Matrullo!

Upon entering the office looks clean but when Dr Matrullo comes into the room to do my exams he NEVER wears any gloves! I have also never seen him wash his hands! He is very short with me and every time I come in he wants to put a new crown on my teeth! I am suspicious as to wether or not this is necessary??? He comes across as a slimy car salesman and not a compassionate health care provider. He is also very unprofessional. He answers his cell phone as well as his office phone during my procedures-while he is in my mouth. I am concerned about his office sanitation as well as his aggressive dentistry!! I recommend you steer clear from this office despite friendly commercials and constant advertising

Terrible practice! The staff is condescending and uncaring during cleanings. They berate patients and lecture while we just sit there with their fingers fumbling in our mouths. Worst is Joseph Matrullo. Cheryl is right. He considers EVERYTHING an issue. If there is an x-ray he will spot a soft spot. If he inspects a tooth he will claim it has give. There is no process of verification. There is no discussion. There is not input. He is a walking drill. Either he is an over anxious and simply knows one thing. Or he is trying to patent his appointments schedule. Either way DO NOT get caught in his revolving door of dental care.

Been taking my daughters there since the 90s - (my eldest) and was satisfied. Although the out of pocket prices seemed. I moved so we saw a different dentist. Moved back in the area and I took my youngest (daughters are13 years apart) to Matrullos & noticed the expansion and many new doctors. (I assume it had to do with all the years of tv advertising). The biggest change I noticed is the scheduling. Things happen....we schedule an appointment every 6 months and a child might be sick or we have to put in more hours at work so we call and then the next available is 10 months later! This is all the time. And the cancellation list means get in here now because we got a cancelation & if I cant do now I never get another call so I assume Im off the cancelation waiting list. This is my general experience. The Matrullos I have not had work on my daughter but they or he (not sure if they both work there now) are usually present. The doctors and assistance and staff have been nice. I CANT COMPLAIN ABOUT ANY OF THEM. I do agree about 1 review by a patient on how Matrullo ( and Ill add other doctors) leave & to treat another another patient then leaves them and then comes back. I think they all do that. It is usually back & forth and Ive never seen any other dental office do this. Maybe this is a good idea to some but I see it as a way where multi-tasking human beings can be dangerous and mistakes can be horribly made. On a lighter note, there are tvs with remotes for you to watch while in the chair but this seems to be a common trend now. (Ive seen only 1 dentist that doesnt have tvs - old timer on Rolfe st. I went to him as a kid and tried as an adult however his secretary had been there for a while & has a power thing going on so I dont go there nor will I send my kids.tgats on Rolfe / different dentist) So tvs are common in most Ive seen. The wait Can be Long. I dont like how we wait an hour and are not reimbursed for our time but theyll charge if we miss or are late and may have to reschedule. If were 15 minutes late so what? I called. Im stuck in traffic. Do you want me there dead? And its not like I wouldnt be sitting there just waiting anyway. But its ok. I just stopped taking my daughter due to the long booking. Schools are tough. They dont want your child absent and even to a doctor and back I get extra homework for them because they missed 2 hours of school and 1 of those hours was lunch. Back to waiting... I dont know why our elected officials dont put a limit to that. Its not fair to us or our families and job. Once ok.. all the time -no.

I went to Dr. Matrullos office to have partials. They removed teeth that didnt need to be removed. I had soreness and the office told me to call the doctor who removed the teeth at another office because he was a sub- contractor. That doctor would not call me back. Dr Matrullo Jr. finally saw me and removed my stitches 5 days early.I had a sore in my mouth and Dr. Matrullo Sr. saw me and told me I had a canker. I had contracted a gum eating disease. The new dentist was able to clear it up without the gums having to be removed. They LOST my records. BEWARE!!

In a nut shell ... I wish I never allowed Paul J. Matrullo to treat me. I originally saw Dr. Carroll who left the practice and I was never notified by this office to let me know of his departure. I arrived for my appointment on April 4, 2013 to have 4 teeth pulled and to get a partial. I was given Novocain, 3 shots by Paul Matrullo who pulled 1 tooth and then walked away to tend to another patient, he came back to pull the others but had to give me more Novocain because the pain was excruciating. He then gave me two more needles and pulled 2 teeth then walked away again for 20 minutes to tend to another patient. I ordered his assistant to get him as he should never have left me to tend to those patients. He came back and had to inject me with more Novocain to pull the last tooth.I bled for over 18 hours, I had unbelievable pain and was told to come in immediately, I arrived with a friend and was forced to wait 55 minutes to be seen. I told him that I had an infection, tried to show him the puss pockets on my gums but he insisted on shaving down my partial, he continually shaved it down to the teeth. When I asked how it was to stay in my mouth with no side anchorage, his nurse told me to use denture cream, I reminded her that I had just had 4 teeth pulled and the suction would reopen those holes. I was told to go to the desk.I spoke to Jennifer in Billing and showed her how he destroyed my partial and treated me like trash after taking my entire payment for the partial. She said she would handle it and call me back. She called me back and said that Dr. Paul Matrullo would replace the partial at his expense but Id have to wait 8 months for all the swelling to subside. The pain didnt subside and I went for a 2nd opinion at a prominent dental office on the Eastside of Providence, I was told that part of a root from a tooth was still in my jaw that had to be removed, this dentist removed it and then packed the hole. He told me not to wear the damaged partial that was destroyed by Paul Matrullo as it was causing damage to my tori, I was given antibiotics to get rid of the infection as well.I called back in late September and spoke to Paul Matrullo where he stated that he would replace the partial but it would cost him over $2700, he told me that he would have pulled all my teeth and given me a full bottom denture. I asked why he would pull 6 healthy teeth and then asked how many unsuspecting patients he had pulled healthy teeth from, he got extremely angry and used profane language, then hung up.Two days later I received a phone call from someone identifying themselves as the Cranston Police Department warning me to stay away from Matrullos Offices; to not make any contact with his offices or I would be arrested for Trespass. I know this is illegal as my conversations were with him over the phone and witnessed by others. Paul Matrullo has absconded with all the monies paid for this partial and has not made any attempt to rectify the situation or refund the monies he has now misappropriated due to his negligence on damaging the original partial.Complaints have been filed with the Dental Board in RI and due to an error by this Board in not affording me the opportunity to testify, provide evidence and witnesses, the case is being reconsidered for further investigation. I still have no bottom partial. His offices were closed by the Department of Health for Unsanitary Conditions and Sterilization Problems with dental equipment and tools, never did he offer to test patients for any possible infection from disease. I have the second opinion from a prominent dentist on the Dental Board. Dont even think about losing my dental records as I have witnesses who have picked me up after treatments at your location and prescriptions for pain medication from your medical pad and remember, you must keep my records for 5 years

God this place is the worst. The doctor is crazy. I brush after every meal and he still magically finds soft spots. I dont eat sugar, I dont even drink soda. Yet the DAY I started seeing him he started finding these mystical soft spots that need to be dealt with. No issues for years and he just keeps finding them. I thoughts it might be my fault the first few times. But after the 3rd cleaning with a surprise soft spot I got suspicious. Then after the 6th time I had enough. I walked out right then and just switched dentist. Funny thing is my new dentist says Im a model patient. He hasnt had an issue with my teeth in years. Well that is until he found a crack that was caused by poorly placed filling!
