Took my cat in and was lied to about the cost. I understand the E.R is always costly but no need to be rude to me about it when you tell me the final cost and I don’t understand why it’s so high so I ask to talk to someone about it and am completely ignored and just left sitting there and even worse the lady says and I quote “well that’s what happens when you bring your pets to the emergency room.” And then just walks away. Seriously so beyond rude.

While our story doesnt have a happy ending, we appreciate all that the staff at East Metro Emergency Animal Clinic did to care for our yellow lab mix. We were out of town when a complex blockage occurred. I received regular communication and was able to speak with the on-call veterinarian when I called at miscellaneous times. I also appreciate a staff member coming out to talk to me when I picked up our crate days later. Very compassionate and professional staff. Well miss our sweet girl.

I cannot say I trust this place and I must apologies for the proceeding rant. I will say the front desk staff was very nice and accommodating; however I am giving 1 star based on how the vet at this office handled my dogs situation.I took my dog here after he ate several puzzle pieces and vomited. After realizing he had vomited, I rushed him to this office. The vet took one x-ray of my dog and informed me that his stomach was full/distended and that there must be a blockage and she would need to do emergency surgery by cutting open not only his stomach, but his intestines as well. Wanting a second opinion, I took my dog to the UGA Emergency Vet and Im glad I did. After doing just an initial assessment, the vet at UGA explained that he did not know how the vet at East Metro had come to her diagnosis of surgery. He stated this was not an emergency surgery situation, my dogs stomach was not distended, and my dog did not have pain when palpitating his stomach. He stated they would monitor my dog and make further evaluations if other symptoms presented themselves.Long story short, the vet at East Metro was going to perform an emergency surgery that my dog did not need at Im sure a very pretty penny. Thanks to UGA, my dog is home resting without having had an unnecessary surgery.

Poor customer service, there was no standard practice for payment collection. Appeared to be more concerned with the collection of money versus helping your pet, major differences between each shift and how they conduct business. When expressing the need for help for your pet, they suggested multiple tests and the suggestion of putting your down in a pre screening which should not be an option while seeking treatment. We work hard for our money and four legged friends and deserve the best treatment for both and to know our pets our getting the best service. Customer service means everything!!!!!

I Do Not recommend this place to anyone. Took a cat there 2 years ago for my roommate whom is paralyzed, they put the cat to sleep & said they would only charge the euphemism fee & waive the rest. My roommate only had half of the cost & I paid the remaining fee. They never gave me a receipt or any paperwork stating services. Last month I received a statement from a collection agency where East Metro ER turned me into them stating I “owe” them $$ ! I tried settling it with Kelly the “new” manager & she refuses to give any validated reason due to ‘she wasn’t the manager at the time, & she sees a balance & she wants the $$! Very Unprofessional!! The account isn’t in my name, as she stated, but yet it was sent to a collection agency in my name? Be careful with This place!! Make sure you receive an invoice before exiting, regardless how upset or distressed you may be, hate to see anyone else get taken advantage of!! Lesson Learned!

On July 21st at 7AM I called this place because my dog had been snake bit. I called and explained I had a bit of an emergency and they told me they can not see my dog, they close at 7:30. Well they lied because they close at 8 and beyond that my dog was just bit by a copperhead and was shaking and swelling so a few mins should not matter at all in the case of an emergency. I will continue to tell every pet owner I talk with about this incident.I drove over to Rockdale Animal in Conyers and they saw my dog immediately! They treat the case as an actual emergency and with in maybe 30 mins they had my dog all fixed up.It clearly states 8:00 for the hours..any way I had an EMERGENCY. Not sure you have read the name of the business in which supplies your paycheck but it clearly states EMERGENCY center. I have not been so let down and hurt by a practice. I wouldnt treat any neighbor the way I got treated therefore Id only never ever recommend any neighbor to this place

East Metro Animal Emergency Clinic went above and beyond to help me on 3 different occasions. They are very compassionate and know what they are doing. Yes, it is true that emergency medicine is more expensive than a day practice would be, but isnt that the case in human medicine too? They are honest and fair. They give you an estimate for any charges prior to incurring any charges. There is no sticker shock and do everything they can to work within your budget. If you are a long-time pet owner like I am, you know that pet services are not free or cheap. Just the nature of the beast. I have a separate account for my babies for that reason alone. I am so glad they have been there to help my babies when no one else was open. Thank you for taking the time away from your families to help mine. You guys ROCK!

Horrible experience!! No Compassion!! Money Hungry!! When your dog is dying the only thing on your mind is saving your pet, thats why you rush to a Emergency Animal Clinic. I came in with my 3 year old dog because she was having a seizure and I did not know what was causing it. I called before bringing her in and they informed me that it would be 110.00 to see her so thats what I was prepared to pay but by the end of the visit it came to over 2,000.00 to try to save her and they would not do anything to try and save until the payment of 2,000 was made that day. I could not afford that but could do a payment plan but unfortunately they did not have that to offer. What made it worse was one of the female employees got a really nasty attitude and started to go on a rant about how they use to offer payment plans and they almost went bankrupt and had to close. I do believe my dog would be alive today if I just took her to another Animal Hospital. I really do regret ever stepping foot in that place. Words cant express how horrible they made me feel. Had to rush one of my cats here because he was blocked (absolutely no urination.) This is semi common in neutered male cats and I was previously aware of the fact that it can happen. It is life threatening (built up blood potassium can cause heart attack.) In this cat it was caused by urinary crystals. When we arrived we didnt have to wait at all to seen. The doctor gave us diagnosis within 30 minutes. The emergency surgery for this is a costly one. I was charged the low estimation price and because I caught the obstruction early not all of that was needed so I was refunded almost $500. These are amazing veterinarians and this office isnt going to scam you. With that being said it is important that anyone with an animal should know that vet care is costly.

Very upset with this hospital! We took our cat there on Christmas Eve with difficulty breathing. After telling us what was wrong, we signed a form stating everything thing they were planning to do and paid our money and left her their for treatment. She had to be put into an oxygenated kennel to help with her breathing. When they would try to lower the oxygen level she would have problems again. We had to leave her there Christmas night also. It’s not necessarily that I’m complaining about their care of our cat while she was there but what happened when we went to pick her up. When we went to get her the dr told us we should take her to our vet when we left and even to UGA if we were considering surgery (her lungs were leaking air and filling her chest cavity). We decided we needed to take her to the closest vet in Covington. Our cat was gasping for air when we left and pretty much suffocated before we got to the vet!! I felt that it was cruel to send her out like that!!! We would much rather had put her down instead of her having to suffer like that!! They never mentioned that she was so bad that she wouldn’t make it to the vet and never said anything about putting her down as an option. It breaks my heart that my cat suffered like that and it was traumatic for my husband and I to have to watch it happen. We picked her up at their closing time and I kinda felt like they were trying to get her out so they could leave!!

I was happy with the service I received. The doctors advice and injection he gave my girl helped get her through the night so we could make it to our regular vet the next morning. The price wasnt too bad. I would drive 45 minutes to go here again, rather than go to Woodland, which is 5 minutes from my house. SAVES in Fayetteville looks very expensive too. When it used to be Southern Crescent it was not that fancy. Any emergency vets office that resembles a ski lodge or fancy hotel makes me think theyre making me pay top dollar for their services so they can have all this extra stuff. No thanks, just have the ability to save my dog and ask for a reasonable fee.

I brought my puppy here and within two hours she was dead. These people had NO URGENCY whatsoever! When I first got there the nurse took her back and placed me in the waiting room. 10 minutes later the doctor came in and was talking about how bad my puppy looked. Nevertheless she continued to call my puppy a boy. How do you know how my puppy is doing if you don’t even know the sex of it?! and you call yourself a doctor?! Then, they said they’d charge $900 for an overnight stay. We told them we could not afford it and that somewhere in that $900 fee was a miscellaneous fee “just in case”. After spending $200 at the other vet prior to coming here we couldn’t afford another $900. After military discount and somehow knocking $500 off the bill they set the new price to $400. Not even 30 minutes later the doctor came in and said “sorry guys your puppy passed”.. would you like me to give her CPR? Are you kidding me???? She had NO URGENCY! None!!! 20 minutes later she said “well she didn’t take to the cpr, sorry guys”. I would NOT and I mean ABSOLUTELY NOT take another animal here!! These poor excuse of so called “doctors” carelessly killed my baby girl.

I took my Bichon there on 8/5/17 for emergency care. The staff was nice and seemed concerned. They told me that they could do blood tests which I consented to. This was expensive but other detailed testing such as x-rays would have been more. Afterwards they told me that my pet was anemic, had an autoimmune disease and wasnt out of the woods. They prescribed steroids for him and I took him home. I thought that this was to help build his blood levels up. I am tempted to give them 1 star because my pet died on 8/9/17. I believe that the staff knew that my pet was dying and didnt tell me. His death was a total shock to my family. We thought that the steroids were going to help put him back on the road to recovery. My review comes from the disappointment of the doctor not telling me that my pet was in transition. I feel that doctors know and he should have told me so that we could have prepared ourselves and our beloved pet to help him transition as comfortably as possible.

TERRIBLE PLACE. if i could give no stars i would. about 3 days ago my puppy started drooling out of no where so i called her vet that day and told them about it and they told me to monitor her. which i did. well last night she started shaking and drooling 10x worse and would walk and just didn’t have any energy. so we called the closest emergency vet and they told us to bring her in and that it would be $110 exam fee and possibly more determining what they needed to do. so we got there and the woman up front got my puppy and took her back. we sat in the waiting area for 40 mins with no information at all. the woman finally came to the waiting area and told us everything they needed to do and showed us exactly how much everything would cost. they were wanting us to pay 2,500 when they didn’t even know exactly what they were looking for. i told her that was way to much and we couldn’t afford that so she said she could come up with a plan B, but that she NEEDED us to choose the 2,500 because they NEED the money. i called my mother and told her exactly what was going on and she told me to go to another one because they just wasn’t acceptable. and that she just wasn’t comfortable leaving my puppy there. so we waiting at least an hour for the woman to come back to us to tell her that we are taking her somewhere else. she got an attitude walked in the back and started to yell with another male. about 20 minutes later she brings me my puppy and she is soaking wet from her own drool. we left there and drove 45 mins away to eastside medical in grayson and they were AMAZING to us. they put us in a little room and watched them exam my puppy. they took her back and did x rays and blood test and everything else’s they felt was necessary. they came to inform us every 10 minutes to make sure we knew exactly what was going on. they gave her some medicine to help with her nausea and drooling and sent us on our way. we paid $356 and my puppy is back to her normal playful self. still a little tired but she is perfectly fine. If we would’ve kept her at east metro i don’t think she would’ve been okay today

I had to rush my dog to the er tonight due to vomiting and being lethargic. The team took my baby from me and then kept him in the back for an hour without letting me see him. I asked to see him just for a second to make sure he was ok and told the dr that I have heard horror stories about leaving your pet. The dr said that was insulting to her and that I could take my dog to be treated elsewhere if I would like.I told her I would not leave my children at a drs office without checking in on them and I am just concerned. She told me he was in critical condition but would bring him in the room after xrays . It took forever for them to treat/diagnose him and did not seem to be a sense of urgency. The bill and charges however were. He was brought into the room in extreme pain and then began to have difficulty breathing. We called the dr back in and thats when they realized his heart had stopped and they began cpr. He was not able to be saved. The xrays showed an enlarged heart . He had not shown any symptoms until today and went downhill in a matter of hours. The bedside manner of this dr was an issue for me and I wish there was something more I could have done for my baby. TWO hour visit and one deceased dog later I had to pay $900.

Dr. Capeheart and her staff were amazing. Very thorough, patient and kind people who really seemed to care. While I was there, a woman brought in a dog she found and they scanned it for a microchip right away. There is also a sweet house cat that keeps you company while you wait. Dr. Capeheart informed me about the diagnostics they wanted to perform and what the cost would be upfront. Yes, it was expensive but not totally worth Alice not suffering. My baby was panicking and they did not even give him anything to calm him would not let me see him and the next thing they said he was crashing, but they billed me for oxygen to try and save hin. I never saw him with Oxygen. Thyey took me to the back and in slow motion acted like they were giving him CPR, while they told me the price as they were doing it. the tube did not fit correctly and the idiot that was getiing the right tube walked as if there was no sense of urgency, I think my baby was already dead. They are lowdown, and the borad of directors needs to shut it down, someone needs to open a true emergnecy vet place that cares about the animals, and truly wants to help people and their pets. Some of the vets that opened this place have vet practices in the area and Conyers know what is going ona nd does nothing about it..I will never forget what they did to me and my dog two years ago on Christmas. We have other cats, have had many dog and have had many horses in the past and our Vet Dr. Sigman wouldnt charge more the 750.00. They said Well this is an emergency clinic. We declined their work and asked for our cat and three kittens she already had back into our possession.
