Unprofessional and unethical. Long review, but please read for factual details. If at all possible, do not let the Montgomery County Court system get you involved with this business. I had the misfortune of just that, and whats even worse is that I, myself, choose this group, and in particular Rebecca Smith, who is a counselor there, to try and help my child. Heres what happened:1) Before choosing them, I verified with their office that they did accept our insurance. I also verified with the insurance company that they would pay. No problem. The counseling center then not only refused to bill insurance for the entire half year we visited, they also refused to provide me with a code to provide to the insurance company so I could file it myself. They claimed they would not bill because I had asked the court to appoint them. The insurance company said nonsense. They absolutely WOULD pay for sessions. A year later, still no code, and Im out thousands...because they refused to provide a simple code for an hour long counseling session.2) I spent so much unnecessary money with them, I occasionally had to get help from other family members to pay for the sessions. After Ms. Smith testified at court, without notification and without consent, and while we were STILL IN THE COURTROOM, their office charged one of the credit cards on file THAT WAS NOT MINE for expert testimony. (My family member was very gracious about it.)3) I provided photographic evidence, background, documents, etc. to Ms. Smith so she could better understand our situation. Not only do I believe she did not even bother looking at them, she frequently would not even communicate with anyone. She would not respond to calls or emails, nor did she ever provide any progress notes or have discussion with me about such.4) At trial: Rebecca Smith spent over 5 minutes on what amounted to a promotional commercial about all her activities, qualifications, and businesses. It went on so long, the jurors eyes were glazing over. (Needless to say, she and her group are VERY tied up with the court system.) She also, while on the stand, openly bashed another professional, licensed counselor who had previously seen my child - which I found to be not only unprofessional, but unethical. And there you have it. Find a better counselor and location.

The counselors and staff helped my family during our divorce. We worked with Rebecca and Judith to learn how to work together as parents. Our children learned to tell us how they feel so their mom and I can help them when they are hurting. Because of the Counseling Center, our girls have an open and honest relationship with both of us and our relationships continue to get better!
