For weeks, I was trying to find a resolution for a package that was never shipped or received. The business (Palmetto State Armory) refused to help and wouldnt refund my money. I reached out to the BBB in Central SC/Charleston, detailed the issue and provided documentation. They responded quickly, within 48 hours, and reached out to the business in question. I received my refund, in full, the day after. I would encourage anyone having issues with a business to reach out and use the BBB for help. Professional, courteous and they get results. I just wish I had reached out sooner.

My first time using the BBB and I will be back! I had a problem with an auctioneer who owed me a payment. I tried to contact him several times and could not leave call back messages because his voicemail was full. I spoke with the only other person in the office and she said she couldn’t help me because the auctioneer handled all the money. This went on for 3 months. Finally I decided to see if the BBB could help me and they did. It was easy! I completed the forms they sent explaining the situation and they registered a complaint with the auctioneers company. No one wants a negative review on the BBB site so we finally got a response. Not only did I receive my check it turns out they missed another payment and they sent that also without deducting the commission. I would definitely use thd BBB again. Maryanne

Very Thankful the BBB helped resolve my issue with a vendor who had ghosted me. I dont believe this issue would be resolved if they had not intervened on my behalf. I found myself reaching out to BBB.org more then I should. If I have a problem with an company and seem to get no resolution, I seek help through the website. Within 24 hours, I would receive a response. Every issue I have placed within their hands, have been resolved. I didn’t know where else to turn after a local repair company became unresponsive and the work incomplete based on the written contract. Thank goodness someone suggested the BBB. I went online and was able to provide my supporting documentation along with what I thought was a fair resolution on the BBB website and then just waited. The BBB was able to reach out on my behalf and facilitate a resolution quickly. I truly believe that had I not contacted and gotten the help from BBB, nothing would have been resolved. I recommend anyone having a dispute to reach out.

I regret to inform the public that my experience with initiating a complaint with the SC BBB resulted in me being treated unfairly, biased treatment from the intake rep assigned to handle my complaint. The business I filed a complaint against was a Used Car Dealer in Charleston SC. Dan Calberg of the SC BBB was assigned to handle my complaint. Due to the BBB being a non-profit organization registered with the SC Secretary of State as a Not for Profit Entity that takes monetary charitable donations, one would think they would try to keep themselves operating above the level of that of an organization that would seek to protect a business solely on the basis of the Owner being of a particular ethnicity that they feel is more privileged than others. Needless to say, after calling to speak with Chris regarding this and him refusing to email or call me back I have decided to escalate this and provide feedback to the public and with the SC DOR/SC Sec of State as they are not operating in compliance with SC Code of Law as it pertains to nonprofit organizations. They actually did not even post my complaint against this business online for the public to view as they should have they are going through drastic measures to try and protect this business owner and it is quite disturbing considering the history of this business and over 15 lawsuits filed in Charleston County Clerk of Court alone against this business Everyone Drivez Auto in less than 2 years speaks volumes of what their owner is doing to this community. Chris of the BBB is a poor example of leadership and unbiased business practices.

I was at my wits end with Trident Hospital billing Department. I reached out to the BBB and received a response immediately letting me know that they were working on it. Within 6 days the situation was resolved and I was emailed back with an update. I am so relieved that finally some action was happening with the hospital because they were not going to make any attempt to resolve this otherwise.

The BBB helped me resolve an issue I had with a Freight company. Originally the Freight company had denied my claim when I tried to handle it with them directly but once I contacted the BBB they were able to mediate the issue. I was able to get an agreement from the Freight company to pay my claim within a few weeks. I would highly recommend consumers to use the BBB if they find themselves in need of help resolving a consumer dispute.

I went here after dealing with companies that would not take responsibility for their product defects or lack of will power for the costumer. I had my vehicle vandalized while on a dealership property when I had a service done. Next, I had carpeting installed and there was a defect that the company refused to replace when the carpeting was brand new and had a warranty. Both situations were resolved in my favor! The BBB employees actually reached out by phone to make sure information was correct. You also receive notifications during the whole process. Thank you BBB! A local auto dealership would not stop sending me notices on a car I had sold a couples of years ago. Phone calls, emails and letters didnt get them to remove me from their mailing list. I even sent several emails to the American headquarters, since they sold their new vehicles. Still they notices kept coming. So I contacted the BBB and within days, they had the problem solved. Its just as the dealership would not listen to me when I told them I no longer owned the vehicle, but they listened when the BBB spoke.. Thanks BBB, you saved me the cost of a lawyer. .

Very pleased with the way how they handled my case. All the responses I was not able to get in 6 month I received them in 2 days. I like how detailed the case was listed , notifications and communication between BBB accused and my self. When I have tried to reason with a large company or business to no avail, each and every time the BBB has been able to help me and get me the satisfaction I desire. I highly recommend filing a complaint with the BBB if you are wronged by a business in South Carolina. They, along with the SC Insurance Commissioner, helped dispute a massive unexpected medical bill from BlueCross BlueShield of SC that was the result of BCBS own errors. Dont be afraid to use the resources available to you, including the BBB.

After months with no success in trying to call and reach LMC to follow up on an account, I was online trying to find additional information, any information that might be helpful to reach the LMC. BBB came up in my search and I began to read the multiple complaints all similar to my issue which were seemingly being responded to by LMC to BBB.I decided to proceed detailing my own issue using BBB site as a resource just hoping for response and some feedback. Within a matter of a few short days, I received a call directly from LMC addressing my issue, was provided additional contact information for future follow-up, and received instructions going forward as well as an apology.This desired outcome and resolution Im sure would not have occurred had I not used BBB as a resource. I had been attempting to address and resolve on my own for four consecutive months unsuccessfully.

FedEx lost a portion of an order and I could not get the seller to acknowledge that I was owed the remainder of my paid for order. Our propane furnace was leaking exhaust fumes into the house, Our repair tech needed parts to repair it but the furnace manufacturer wasnt shipping the parts or replying to messages. Weeks went by, then as a last resort we contacted the BBB and a few days later the parts were shipped. The BBB got results when we had run out of reasonable options.

After posting a complaint with BBB the business I was having problems with contacted me immediately to set up a resolution. This was after leaving countless voice and emails that received no response. I notified BBB that a solution was promised. But if things werent resolved, I would refile a complaint in 90 days. While the company giving me the problems claimed the complaint didnt bother them, when things got a bit contentious on the phone and I hung up, they immediately called me back. Im hoping that a solution will be achieved. If it is, I thank BBB for their assistance.

I had a billing issue with Lexington Medical Center and their third party collection agency Receivable Solutions LLC. After posting my complaint, the third party company refunded my payment completely. Later the company posted a negative report on my credit, and I filed another complaint with BBB. The negative credit report was removed the same day. I was very happy that I chose to file two complaints against this company with the BBB. If there is no one holding companies accountable, then consumers have no hope of protection from fraud and abuse.

I had a big issue with a major Charleston AC company over an improperly installed AC . Over a 3 month period I called the company over 20 times trying to get the company to come out and fix the problem. Most of those phone calls were never returned, and when they were I only got lip service. I finally decided to file a claim with the Charleston Better Business Bureau. I was having problems trying to fill out the online claim form, so in mid afternoon on a Friday I called the BBB office in Columbia. To my surprise they immediately put me in touch with Daniel Carlberg, who told me to email him all the information, and he would file it for me. To my surprise again, within an hour of my emailing Daniel, he had entered my claim on the BBB website, and contacted the company that I had the complaint against. Daniel kept me up to date about how the claim worked, when the company had to reply, and what I needed to do. The service he gave me was absolutely awesome. Within a few weeks of my claim with the BBB, the company satisfied me with all I requested. I am totally convinced that Daniel Carlberg and the BBBs being an advocate for me in such a professional manner resulted in my getting this company to do what they should have done months before. Finally their supervisor reacted and wrote me a letter of apology, giving me back the $$ I had spend for a non-existing service and offering me an additional free service. I went to the business and spoke with him personally. I ordered a product from the company U.S. Patriot Tactical and they never sent me a confirmation email or any email for that matter. $160 and 3 weeks later with 4 ignored emails that I sent to the company, I contacted BBB. The next day after I contacted BBB, the boots miraculously shipped. The company reached out to me once BBB sent the complaint. The company admitted no fault and never offered an apology. Long story short, I will never do business with that company again but BBB ensured that I got the product I ordered. Thanks again BBB!!

Thank you for your help BBB! A merchant had made an error that resulted in an overcharge. It wasnt as simple as a credit card dispute because I didnt want to unwind the whole transaction. The company kept saying they would credit back the difference, but they never did. I couldnt get anyone with more authority to escalate the issue.After 20 emails over the course of more than a month, I finally filed a Better Business Bureau complaint. The managing partner contacted me immediately and resolved the issue the same day.It is unfortunate that a BBB complaint is sometimes necessary, but Im thankful that this local organization is there to help consumers and businesses reach solutions. It was quick and efficient, resolving in a day what the merchant hadnt taken action on for months.

This branch of the BBB was very helpful to me and I would recommend them and this service in general very highly..WHen a survey marketing company ignored my attempts to be paid by them for contract work completed as prescribed, the BBB stepped in to help me get noticed and finally, in the end, paid what I was owed..Do I trust the company that was very very slow to pay me? No..I dont know that I will continue to do work for them...I think they finally responded to me because I contacted the BBB, not because they pay fairly and promptly on their own.I will use the BBB again should any further issues arise ...and I hope others will too...it is important to do business with companies that have great BBB ratings, and to avoid those that do not...

I had drainage and grading issues on a new home purchased in Wilmington NC from Mungo Homes (based out of Irmo SC). Without the help of the BBB, Im confident that repairs to my grading and drainage would not have been taken care of by the builder, as on several occasions they told me they would not fix it, and fixed several other homes in our neighborhood. I had an issue with a refrigerator repair company (National Platinum, based out of Columbia, SC- do not use!) assigned to me by my home warranty company. The technician ended up causing water damage and it took me weeks to even get the company to answer the phone or respond to me. The site was consumer friendly and the BBB got back to me with in 48 hrs.I did get the situation resolved through the company as I did inform them I had filed a complaint. I let the BBB know immediately the problem was resolved - at this time. They acknowledged that email within 24 hrs.

I’ve had to reach out for the assistance of the BBB twice. In both instances the service I received was prompt and superb! The ability to reopen a case in the event the complaint agreement isn’t fulfilled is a added benefit they provide. After my case was closed I had to ask for more assistance with making sure the original agreements were fulfill because the other party begin dragging their feet with excuses. Needless to say I’m certain that without BBB intervening on my behalf my situations would have resulted in my company losing over $700 and being forced to pay monthly installments for equipment we didn’t want! We appreciate your help in making sure that honest hard working people aren’t taken advantage of.

BBB of Central SC and Charleston was helpful in helping me to get my issue resolved. I had no expectations regarding communication with them, but they reached out to me within 24 hours of filing of claim, and continued to do so until the issue was resolved. I am pleased with the level of service received and really blown away by their communication, check-in and follow-up. My contact person was responsive and I appreciated, which was appreciated while trying to resolve my issue.

The two complaints that I had submitted ran 3 cycles from me to respondents and back. This BBB ran the info and prompted the respondents to answer when I was being ignored. Both respondents provided false information and the BBB could only pass the info on and had no authority to require the respondents to answer a question that I would submit. BBB was helpful in getting the companies attention, I do not know where I would turn to if BBB did not exist.

The BBB was very responsive and reached out to the local merchant with whom I had a conflict. Very quickly after I posted my complaint the reached out to the merchant and they ( the merchant) finally called me and we began to have discussions about my complaint. The merchant never returned my call until the BBB was involved. They were a great resource to help resolve my issue with the merchant.
