Usually I would not review a place like this in the interest of protecting my own privacy, however, I do think people should be aware of some things. To begin with, Dr. Parkinson is great, and she is responsive to emails, as other reviews mentioned. So why two stars?Im not sure Columbia Psychiatry is 100% to blame for this, but the business seems to have *profit* as priority number one and *patient care* somewhere below that. Perhaps that is out of necessity, but the end result is people being left out to dry.I was a patient there for over two years, and during that time never missed an appointment, never was even late to one. So, after my first child was born, I forgot about a zoom appointment and logged onto zoom about 15 minutes after the appointment was scheduled (appointments are 30 minutes long). I eventually called the office and was told I would need to reschedule. They also charged me $100 for missing the appointment I was late to. I asked them for a refund, to consider that I had been a patient (customer) of theirs for multiple years, but they would not. So I paid the $100 and told them I would take my business elsewhere going forward. What I didnt realize was how difficult it would be to gain access to a Dr. that will prescribe my (non narcotic, non habit forming) medications.The bottom line is, psychiatrists are apparently very difficult to come by, and they are surely aware of this fact. I do not know any other business that could charge someone $100 for being 15 minutes late to a zoom appointment without upsetting some people. Psychiatrists can, and some do.

Great place. Doctors there are knowledgeable and kind. Great listeners and give great counsel.

Dr Parkinson is the best. Intelligent, funny, and personable! Also responds super fast to email!
