Absolutely fantastic!!! Karen and Kristen bring the next level of professionalism, effectiveness, and kindness to their training. I have seen nothing but improvement in my dog since we started working with them. And they both are super responsive to text if Im ever have an issue or question outside of normal hours!Their personal dogs are a testament to their skill level! Karen and Kristen truely invest their whole heart and soul into all areas of training including fixing bad behaviors, sport training, and companion dogs.It is incredible to see all of the progress we have made and continue to make because of their guidance. The decades of training that this team has behind them clearly shows through in the amazing work theyve done to help me and my family.

I cannot recommend pups obedience enough. Our breeder recommended pups obedience for our GSD because she knew that Karen and Kristin would guide us through the journey of being first time GSD owners. We took advantage of their puppy training course and followed up with their basic obedience group training. They take pride in their role to accurately guide each owner on their specific breeds and needs. Karen and Kristin not only help you understand how to do each lesson but give you an understanding of why these lessons play an important role in the relationship between the dog and owner.

I got my dog for evaluation. She said (Kristen) we will schedule an appointment for next week. Then she texted saying she has no appointments available for the whole week. I gave her my available times for the following week which it were pretty flexible. I had no reply. I do not understand this behavior from a business. More importantly I stop looking for a dog trainer because I thought we already got one. The weeks pass and the dog gets bigger quickly. Training is important specially for us that are first time dog owners.P.S. I know that we are in 2021 but I even felt that maybe she do not want to train my dog because I am black. Probably not... we are in Maryland. But if you do not want to work with a client isn’t fair to say please find someone else?

At first, Ill be honest, I was a bit unsure about how I felt. Id never done group training with any of my dogs before and didnt know what to expect. Once I voiced my insecurities to Karen & Kristin one night after class, I was completely at ease. These ladies are fabulous and Finnley will be back very soon to finish his obedience class! Below are some pics of him when he first started his class!

I went to this trainer based off all the amazing reviews and I hope my experience was just a fluke. I set up a private evaluation for my working dog for fear based behavior. It was recommended to me to do the basic obedience class to help with confidence. I took the advice and signed up. At this point I had nothing but a lovely experience.I started the course and right away my dog was way too advanced for the obedience portion of the class. Dogs were learning to sit and lay down while my working dog was way past that. I kept hoping that Karen would give me more advanced skills to work on during this portion of class, especially since she had seen what my dog could do in the evaluation. By class 4 I knew I had to say something but I am not good at confrontation. At this point I am still having a good experience Im just annoyed that this class was recommended to me when my dog was far to advanced for it.I reached out and voiced my concerns and this is when communication became difficult because it would take a long time to hear anything back via email. When I called I never got a reply either. She did try to work with me at first but I couldnt get ahold of her after a few emails.Turns out the fear based behavior I originally went to them with was just a normal fear phase my dog went through. How did a professional trainer not catch that? Basically everything I had concerns about literally just went away in the next month or so as she matured. Now Im mad because I really raked together the $300+ to pay for this course based on THEIR recommendation. So now I have a dog with no issues but not because of their training. I didnt get my moneys worth of training and Im frustrated that they didnt try harder to reach out to me to apologize or resolve this situation.I did write a review on Facebook but was met with a paragraph+ of reasons the entire situation was my fault which is a really bad business practice in my book.

We are very happy with the training services provided by Karen and team when we rescued our puppy at 5 months. Extremely knowledgeable and spend alot of time with you answering all your individual questions and concerns. Like their caring but no-nonsense approach. They are very accessible.

Overall great experience for our dog in the basic obedience course and Karen definitely has a streamline process for training even what seems like the most un-trainable dogs. Through the 8-week course, she explained the maneuvers very well and gave great instructions. We saw great results in our dog.A couple of things I wish were different was being able to have more time either in class or after class to ask questions/consult. Also wish the classes lasted the full hour since we were paying for that time. The sessions seemed rushed at times.

Karen has over 25 years of trainer experience and lives and breathes training. I could not understand why my golden puppy would not listen to me and Karen worked with me to the point I attended FOUR FULL sessions of training for the initial fee. So, I didnt have to pay to go back to class.Today, my golden puppy is almost 7 and while shes still very strong willed, shes a great dog and I owe that all to Karen and her training experience, techniques and patience. :)She also helped to advise me on my second dog which was another golden retriever. We have a very happy, lively home with two wonderful best friends who know boundaries and we can actually enjoy day in and day out.Owning a pet is a long commitment, I plan on using Karen to make those years count. Hard work in the beginning pays off for 10-15 years (hopefully we get to have our dogs for that long!)

I was contemplating becoming a first-time owner of a 4 year old bulldog/pitbull mix and I knew I needed help so based on the reviews online I contacted Pups regarding training. Karen provided a wealth of information and was very responsive to my many questions. I can tell that she genuinely cares about dogs. While I ultimately decided I wasnt committed enough to be a dog owner at this time, I will definitely contact her again for training when I finally get a dog.

I rescued our dog Lucy as a pup and as shes got older I noticed a few bad behaviors I knew I needed to correct (aggressive barking & pulling on the leash). My kids could not walk Lucy because she would lunge and bark at people in a ferocious manor. I signed up for PUPs training after seeing a pit bull (Diesel) that was better behaved than my 8 year old golden retriever at the vets office. After enrolling in a class I signed up for a private lesson because I knew I needed to try to correct Lucys behavior before first day of class. I had tried a lot of no pull collars and I walked into the private lesson with a no pull harness on Lucy that was not working because she pulled me all over the room and barked like a crazy dog at herself in the mirror. During the lesson Lucy was fitted for a prong collar and choke chain and I walked her around the room again. There was an IMMEDIATE change in Lucys behavior (NO PULLING). The next day my 9 year old asked to walk Lucy and she returned 30 minutes later and told me that Lucy didnt pull at all. PUPS suggested a no bark collar to correct the barking that would increase in intensity until the barking ends. Before the barking collar the UPS man was afraid to deliver packages and now hes giving her treats!! PUPS YOU ROCK!

Expensive training and poor communication/customer service. Tried to get my dog enrolled in a basic obedience class after adopting, and he had trouble focusing around the other dogs (which was one of my main goals enrolling in the class). There were 11 other dogs in my class, and after two classes we agreed it’d be better to do private sessions or try to enroll him in a smaller class. You must prepay and there is a strict no refund policy, and I’ve been trying to get in touch via phone and email to reschedule with no success.
