I have been seeing Dr. B for about 14 years. Yes, he runs late. Usually 15-45 minutes so bring a book. I realize this can be inconvenient. However, if you know this going in, you can plan ahead. As far as I’m concerned, he runs late because he takes his time with his patients. Because I have multiple diagnoses, I’m always in there more than 15 minutes. He can be a bit dry which may come across as uncaring but the questions he asks and the time he spends with you should be an indication that it’s not the case. We had a trial and error period with my meds when I first started there and he always listened to how I was feeling/ side effects etc. it’s also a two-way street. If he asks you to do something, do it! As far as the front desk goes, I’ve never really had a problem. They’ve always been friendly. Yes, the phones can be an issue. However, they answer the phones between 10-12 and 2-4 so I just call then. I will say this- he no longer takes insurance. However, about 99% of Psychiatrists in the area don’t either. Besides, you generally don’t see him about every 3 months. Even with the insurance change, I’m not going anywhere! Oh, also, I’ve never had a problem bring someone in with me. Both my Mom and husband have gone in on my appointments.

The office staff ALWAYS act as though it is a surprise that someone enters the office and needs help; they take their good time in responding to you, and even if you have been going there for years, they act as though they dont know you. Prescriptions are NEVER ready on time per their own policy! There is always a minimum of a one hour wait even if you are the first patient of the day.

The office stuff is very rude and they are liars. I made appointment for my daughter, we were waiting for 3 and half months, because she was seeing him last time more than 2 years ago. When appointment day came I called them to confirm time and they said that an appointment has been cancelled. They said that they called 3 us times and nobody responded. We checked our phone mailbox and called Verizon - and we are absolutely sure that we never received any calls from them. The receptionist promised to speak with the doctor. She also promised to reschedule appointment in the next 2 weeks. She never called back. Dr. Bacharach lost one more patient. - we will never go to his office again.

Horribly run office. Dr. B wants to see patient back in 3 months but first opening is in 4 1/2 months. Will only give script for 3 months, have to call later to get script for remaining time to next appt. I expect that this will get worse as he is cutting back on his hours. very poor time management. I usually have to wait 1- 1/2 hr. minimum to be seen. Does not seem to appreciate that my time is valuable too--something all my other doctors have recognized.

I dred the day Dr. Bacharach retires. His office staff may be rough around the edges, but if you come in with a smile and ask hows your day going? , you know common courtesy 101; they are very pleasant. Hes home to me. From a troubled teen to a functioning adult who from time to time still needs guidance. He does not throw prescriptions at you, he always wants to know your circumstances first. My favorite thing that he says when you respond to his question of how are you, and you reply OK...he says Ok how? I use it on my son all the time.Long waits, but he is one of the best!

This is one of the worst doctors we have seen. He set my sons depression treatment back several months in just one (and only) visit. With his arrogance and condescending nature he should not be in the mental health profession. Eight of his ten reviews are 2 stars or less. That should say it all. I assume if google allowed zero stars, then that would be the majority of his ratings.

If I could give this doctors office a 0 I would. The front office staff is very rude and seem to be bothered when you ask them a question or call for any reason. I have been coming here for 6 years and I have finally had enough! EVERY appointment I have had (and everyone else thats complaining in the waiting room) he is at least 45 minutes behind schedule. Even after I moved I stayed with Dr Bacharach and I drive 45 minutes one way to see him. That being said after 2 years of driving 1 1/2 hours (just driving time) to pick up my script every month the office staff FINALLY mentions they couldve sent my scripts over and I didnt have to physically come to the office. Dr. Bacharach is very knowledgeable (in my opinion) and he seems willing to try different prescriptions to find what works best for me and my body. He is very cut and dry with his emotions and explaining routes to help his patients but he knows what he is talking about and thats more important to me than personality. The bottom line is the RUDE FRONT OFFICE STAFF is dragging this doctors office down the drain!! They dont care about the patients and cant seem to understand that a smile, nice tone, using your manners, kindness, and a caring personality is not too much to ask for from a person whos JOB IS TO BE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL !I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DOCTORS OFFICE TO ANYONE. Especially if you want a doctor or front office staff to be caring and personable to you as a patient ( which is ALWAYS my expectation at a doctors office)!

BEWARE OF DOCTORS THAT MIX ZYPREXA AND REMERON (A HIGHLY SEDATIVE DRUG ) CREATING A HIGHLY ADDICTIVE EFFECT AND THEN OFFER METHAMPHETAMINE EXCEPTIONS AT A COST. THE AVERAGE PAYOUT FOR ZYPREXA SCAMS IS 1.45 BILLION US DOLLARS. WHEN YOU WIN YOUR COURT CASE DONT FORGET TO TITHE. HAVE A GREAT DAY !

I respect Dr. Bacharach as a physician, but he provides little comfort and lacks empathy for his patients. Many times, my concerns would be dismissed in favor of alternative treatments unrelated to medication I need to control my symptoms. Consistently, I felt worse after meeting him and had the impression that I was being made to feel guilty of my mental illness. Waiting times were unreasonably long, and I felt like Dr. Bacharach had little concern for me as a person. If you are looking for reassurance or understanding, you wont get it from this doctor.

I went to this office for 5 years or so. The whole office was run poorly. The front desk were always losing papers, charging me wrong copays (different each time), were rude and unprofessional, and had high fees for everything. When I needed forms filled out it was $10/page. Dr. Bacharach himself was without empathy, always quick to throw me on a new med despite my concerns, and wouldnt consider important what I considered important. He would always say when I would complain, Well, at least this or that isnt happening and wouldnt even validate my frustrations. He called me his problem patient as I didnt tolerate meds well. I stuck around as long as I did because I didnt know where else to go. Believe me, you deserve better healthcare than this.

I wanna start by saying I’m a nurse (just so you know my back ground a little) but nurses surely do not know everything. Dr. Bacharach doesn’t assume I know everything either which is refreshing he breaks his care down into everyday terminology. Dr. B takes his time with his patients, he goes down the list of everything going on and does a thorough assessment. He takes time to explain in a understandable way anything you may not understand. He then makes professional recommendations but gives his patients the ultimate decision in their care. He is a little dry and to the point so if you don’t like that type of personality he isn’t the doc for you. Yes... sometimes you wait awhile but that means he is taking his time with his patients which is what the medical field is missing these days. Don’t be deterred by the lower rating...I will safely assume the only people who have truly taken the time to post are the ONLY ones who have had a bad experience which is such a small percentage of ppl and his other long time patients probably haven’t posted bc they are happy with their care and go about their business! I’ve been seeing this doc for over 3 years and I am very satisfied with the care I have received thus far and would recommend him to anyone needing a psychiatrist in the area!

If you are looking for a mediocre office that will write you prescriptions and get you out the door this is your place. If you are looking for comfort, answers, security, and peace this is NOT your place. Ive been seeing Dr. Bacharach for about 3 years. The office staff is by far the worst staff that I have ever seen in my life. They do not return phone calls. One time I called twice to confirm an appointment, never got a call back. And got a $50 fine for a no show for a date that was different from the one I was trying to confirm! Also, while Starting my freshman year of college, I called the dr to get another prescription bc I was all out of the origional one before my next apt. He decided to run a test and didnt send a prescription or call back. He wanted to see if the medicine I was using was effective. The first two weeks of college were the worst days of my life. I went into a deep deep depression and had to go to the hospital. This doctor was surprised when I went in to my apt to see how effected I was by his test. This dr has messed with my mind & mental health & frustrates me. Also heads up you will wait at least an hour before you see the dr even if your the first apt :)

I was seen there for several months..with the needed monthly appointment..which I would make the appointment before, more than one time did they call me the day before to cancel on me. And when I finally stood up for myself and said I will not reschedule and to take me pout of their records, I got send l sent a cancellation fee for the appointment the dr cancelled on me. This is the primary reason I ended up in the hospital... AGAIN

The Dr. Is very good and I am pleased with his service. The front desk staff on the other hand is the worst Ive experienced. Ive come in multiple times and stood there waiting while they talk and eat and talk. I waited ten minutes one time and decided to sit down, as soon as i sat down they openened the window and asked what I wanted. On another occasion I called twice and left two diffrent messages to make an oppointment. I never heard back from them. I guess they were busy talking to each other about personal things and didnt have time to call me back!!

I saw Dr. Bacharach first as a child and then in my teens (17 years old). I was reccomended to him both times by the therapist I was seeing at the time (same therapist both times). I dont remember much of seeing him when I was younger but I shouldve known something was up when I saw him as an almost-adult. He has the parents of the patient sit in the room while he does the initial analysis as well as any subsequent follow up sessions. I asked if my parents would be able to leave the room because I would feel much more comfortable talking to him about my problems one on one, and he said straight up with no follow up explanation, No. Come to think of it, Dr.Bs favorite word is no so expect to hear it a lot if you dont take heed to this review. Well, subsequent to this issue, I ended up sugar-coating a lot of my problems so my parents wouldnt feel bad and therefore didnt get the proper medications I needed at the time. I emphasized an issue with attention deficit with Dr.B and told him I definitely was in need of a medication specifically for that, which both of my parents attested to. Instead, he gave me an anti-depressant which barely helped any of my symptoms, as he shouldve been able to plainly see in those mood diaries he made me do for him (and then never looked at).I would also like to flag this doctor as a no-go if Autism Spectrum Disorders are your primary concern because Dr.Bacharah has absolutely NO idea what an ASD looks like and has no idea how to handle a patient that may be on the spectrum. My mother suspected that I may has Aspergers Syndrome when I was 17 and asked him during one of our meetings if that might be the case. Instead of asking why she suspected as such (as a psychologist is SUPPOSED to do, and do not let a single person tell you different), he immediately shot us down (said No, she doesnt have it, straight out. His favorite word again!) and explained that I couldnt possibly have Aspergers because I had friends and I didnt sit in his office and talk about the same thing repetitively. Lo and behold, ladies and gentleman, as it turns out I fit every diagnostic criteria for Aspergers Syndrome, and all of the non-diagnostic criteria as well.Dr. Bacharach failed me in more than one way. Im just one person though, in years and years of practice. I obviously cannot be the only patient he failed to properly help. Never mind the review that his office staff is rude (although that is also true, and the wait time and warmness of the waiting room are both big issues as well), those should not be the reasons why you decide on whether to see this doctor or not. You should decide against this doctor because he will not be able to competently provide you the help you need, especially if you think your child may be on the autism spectrum. Avoid at all costs and if anybody gives you a referral to see him please, for you and your childs sake, ask for a different one.
