He saved my life following a subarachnoid hemorrhage I suffered in 2009. It was truly the hand of God that he was on call when I arrived by ambulance. I’m told he paced the hallway outside my room because the first 24-48 hours were crucial to my survival. Absolute best neurosurgeon Columbia has to offer

Dr. Bondurant did me right and was as informative and pleasant as could be. I had a golf-ball-sized tumor removed from my frontal lobe and was--except for the fact that it was malignant--back to 100% about three days later. Smart, hardworking, easy to talk to, and good at explaining things. I fully believed in his competence during the entire experience. Hope to never see him again but I would absolutely recommend him. :)

I went to Dr Bondurant for a second opinion. First, his secretary was very pleasant and helpful. Dr Bondurant spent at least one hour with me, studying my situation with questions and evaluations. He went over my MRI with me explaining what he saw. He also was able to pull up test done by my Neurology doctor and went over that with me. He was pleasant and informative. He explained what my outcomes, not leaving out possible poor outcomes, would be with the surgery being offered by my other physician. He treated me as someone who would be involved, rather than just giving me the feeling he had the only answers. I did have a long wait (around an hour) in the examination room, but but it was worth it. He even offered to assist me at later dates if I wanted to. There are other positive issues, that would take too long discuss, but proves he is a caring physician.

Cant say enough about him. He saved me from having a full fusion. Listened to my pain and did one more test that proved it wasnt from the slippage. Found a cyst removed it and and much better and further from a full fusion. He can seem in a hurry but he is just so full of energy that it comes across as that but couldnt be further from the truth. I have had 2 surgeries now and would not go to any one else in this area but him.!!!

Dr. Bondurant is the best. He explains everything and makes the patient feel like they are truly informed and comfortable with their treatment plan. Great bedside manor and great surgeon.

I am a physician who specializes in imaging. My relative who lives several hours away recently had excruciating neck pain requiring hospitalization. An MRI was done and sent to me to review. There was extreme bone overgrowth in the upper cervical spine from a childhood injury, severely narrowing the spinal canal and impacting the spinal cord and compressing the nerves as they left the spinal canal, one of the worse I have seen. However, this 75 year old gentleman had NO symptoms usually associated with such narrowing of the canal and compressing the nerves. Nevertheless, I was concerned that this could result in quadriplegia if he was in an accident (prior doctors had also just warned of this) so I called Dr. Bondurant to see him. (I do not know Dr. B but knew his excellent neurosurgeon father who practiced in Oklahoma City). Despite a busy schedule, his scheduler got him in the next day. Dr. B.evaluated the MRI (very messed up) and with my relatives lack of clinical symptoms, released him to home. This is admirable. Many surgeons would have found a reason to operate. You want a neurosurgeon who does the medically appropriate action, not what may give him more time in the operating room! My cousin and his wife were impressed with Dr. Bs efficiency and manners and felt relieved that an expert had reassured them. Im glad I referred them to Dr. Bondurant!

Excellent surgeon!! Went in for pinched nerves and he noticed something else on the MRI that was much worse. Dealt with that and worked through physical therapy to help my body heal enough that the pinched nerves could be fixed a couple of years later.

Took my 79 yr old mom to see Dr Bondurant for two lumbar compression fractures L1 and L5. Ive never seen a physician act the way he did, nor would I even consider having him operate on her. Upon walking in you immediately sensed he was in a hurry. He begin to question mom about various thing, had no patience for her answers, cutting her off repeatedly. Demanding exact dates and answers to his questions. Definitely not a good physician for elderly. Rude, condescending and abrupt. He did show and explain her CT Scan which was the only positive out come we took away from the appointment. I worked for orthopedic and neurosurgeon for years never have I seen such a poor and unprofessional approach to a patient in severe pain. We couldnt get out of there soon enough, truly disappointed in the health grades assessment that were given to him and in the referral from the ER physician that saw her.

Dr. Bondurant is one of a only a few Doctors that I trust with all my heart. Not only is he amazingly intelligent, but he really cares about his patients. He has performed two surgeries on me (for separate issues) in the last six years. One was a decompression of nerves (laminotomy /foraminotomy) at C5-C6 and the other was a laminectomy and diskectomy at L5-S1. Both were successful and have changed my life for the better. He is extremely thorough and will not beat around the bush in whether he can help your situation or not. I appreciate that.. as I feel some surgeons are too quick to operate. Dr. Bondurant cares about the patient and only wants to proceed with surgery if he feels he can really, honestly help the situation. He also cares about the patient as a real person. He remembers little details of things I have told him that are important in my life. That means more to me than I can put into words.I feel lucky to be his patient and feel that I owe so much of my well being to him. I would recommend him over and over again!
