I would recommending avoiding this neurologist to those who have a choice. Although his google reviews are generally positive, his reviews on other platforms (Yelp, Vitals.com) describe his seemingly lack of diligence and concern for his work.As for my experience with Dr. Carter, he was short with me and did not seem to acknowledge my description of my symptoms, up to the point where I had to repeat myself two or three times in order to make myself heard. When prescribing my medication, Dr. Carter altogether refused to state its purpose and instead told me Its not like drug companies are paying me to prescribe this to you in a derisive tone. Before I left, I was ordered to not go above 50mg under threat of potential liver toxicity. After several appointments Dr. Carter contradicted himself and ordered me to take 60mg and potentially higher doses until my condition improved, side-stepping my questions about the potential liver toxicity he had mentioned. It was at this point I chose to go to another provider.(Im posting this under a fake name).

Its always important for a doctor to listen to his patients and understand what their concerns are without rushing a patient through the door just to get to the next one. Dr. Carter is one of a kind. He is knowledgeable and cares bout his patients wellbeing.Monique Burke10/23/19

Dr. Carter is thorough and methodical. His goal is to gather as much relevant information about your history, symptoms, condition, etc. and work towards your relief in a way that allows him to fully understand the patient in his way, FIRST. In doing so, he is not as tender in his approach which I am willing to sacrifice for the thoroughly knowledgeable care, accuracy in diagnosis and professionalism Dr.Carter provides. The office staff is consistantly professional, and friendly.

I completely agree with Kim.I was referred to Dr Carter by my regular ophthalmologist for an issue that needed further investigation. Dr Carter takes the time to listen to what the issue is from the patients pov. He combines that with what the referring Dr sent and then works with you on a plan and explains things in a way that can be understood.On top of that, Trelina is so nice and consistently friendly, which as many of you know goes a long way towards staying with a practice...or not.
