From my first appointment with Dr. Rai, the Drs. goal was to push me off as a patient to the Physician Assistant. I had to sit through an hour wait to see the PA and then the Dr. came in for a 10 minute appointment. Even when I had the procedure done, he brought in another Doctor to do the procedure and give me the results, which he only introduced 5 minutes prior to the procedure.At todays appointment, which was confirmed as an appointment with Dr. Rai, I didnt even see the Doctor. I was put in with a Physician Assistant. The office told me thats the way this practice works. You dont get to see the Doctor unless you are having a procedure done. The PA, although very nice, didnt tell me anything that I couldnt read on the internet. I am definitely switching to a new practice and anyone who needs ongoing support needs to be aware that you wont be seeing the Doctor.

I had an appointment with Dr. Rai today. I was seen promptly. Dr. Rai was very attentive to my concerns and was very professional. Dr. Rai is excellent and I feel very lucky to have such a knowledgeable Doctor!

I went in for a routine procedure they said they take my insurance but I am getting harassing calls from Columbia Outpatient Sedation which is registered under this practice. For 4 months I’ve been getting bills for 3k$ even though they participate.

Dr Rai and all his staff are the greatest,they really know what there doing.I wouldnt go any where else

Very friendly and professional staff. Was taken in the exam room immediately after signing in, Dr. Rai took time to go over all results in great detail. All my questions were answered and concerns addressed. I will certainly recommend this clinic.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Rai for almost 3 years. His office and his service had been everything I could hope for. He explains everything clearly and completely. His staff always had a smile and makes you feel like they care for your health. During a recent emergency condition on a weekend, he personally called me at the hospital to check on my condition and provide his views on what was happening. His information was total correct. I would highly recommend Dr. Rai for anyone needing a GI Specialist.

I know this will sound weird, but I actually enjoy going to my appointments. Dr. Rai is the absolute best gastroenterologist I’ve ever worked with in the 30+ years since my diagnosis. The nurses are patient and kind—illustrating excellence in care during each visit.

Didnt talk to me regarding my diagnosis at all (which was serious enough that my PCP had me on short term disability). I was asking questions and he rudely gave curt answers and left as quickly as he came. My husband and I were left feeling stunned.

Dr Rai is awesome, after seeing another gastro Dr and getting no results I decided to visit Dr Rai on the recommendation of another patient of his and I was truly amazed.. He takes the time to talk to the patient and is very through in his evaluations of what is going on, and he tells it like it is. UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW: I take back what I originally stated after the first couple of visits I have not seen Dr Rai at all I was pushed off on his PA and when you request an appt with Dr. Rai you are informed that it will take a while to get an appointment with him (in other words they discourage it) I have informed the PA every time that I have been able to see her (which I have given up since COVID) that I am unable to take the medication and begged for something else to no avail. So it is now time to find another gastro Dr. after this pandemic subsides some, for now my primary Dr is handling my needs.

Dr. Rai is extremely kind and patient. He is a great listener and he cares about his patients. About all, he knows his craft and provides excellent follow-up care. I would recommend Dr.Rai to anyone looking for a gastro specialist.

Dr. Rai is the 4th doctor I have been to and is the only one to take the time to and take every step. Other 3 doctor told me that my issue was not curable. 4 visits with Dr. Rai and we have already found some relief.

I was a patient for over a year and was diagnosed with Crohns and prescribed medication. Continued to feel sick for over year, before going elsewhere for a new treatment plan. Two doctors from the second office agreed that I did not have Crohns. After some more testing I was diagnosed with fructose malabsorption. I follow the recommended diet and feel much better. I am honestly surprised by the number of positive reviews on here, because I have heard a number of stories similar to my own.

Called about 7 times throughout the course of several months and left multiple messages to get results and have yet to hear back from them.Each time they would say yeah yeah yeah Willa make sure we call you back with the results or will have the doctor call you but a bunch of lies

Top doctor for GI related problems

Finally a great Gastro doctor, who can work with my particular set of problems.Ive seen many doctors over 24 years, since my teens, and hes the first who was able to give me a specific diagnosis. Id recommend him to anyone.

My 2nd Tuesday appointment in a row. The first one one took 3 hours, 2 hours of waiting to be seen. This time the visit was a little less than 2 hours total, about 1 hour wait. Much better. An earlier appt time, plus it didn’t seem as busy. Dr Rai and the nurse who administered my iron infusion, were extremely professional and very friendly. Thank you!

I had my first Entyvio infusion yesterday. I tolerated the infusion very well. Dr. Rai was very compassionate and kind. The staff in the infusion center were awesome! I pray that Entyvio puts me in remission of Crohns disease.

Dr Rai is an excellent GI Doctor I! I spent 26 in the military and had excellent care the entire time, so I know quality healthcare . I suffered with gas and hemorrhoids for a few years. After seeing Dr. Rai I found I had an disorder and after he removed the hemorrhoids I no longer have pain. And when I changed my diet it relieved the symptoms I was having. I only wish I had found him earlier. Thank you Dr. Rai

Good bed side manner originally, got pretty defensive when we pushed back on the conclusion which was pretty far off from conclusive, and seemed to push for expensive diagnostics which had been run before, and not address more obvious conclusions and concerns. Cant say as Id recommend him.
