The color I wanted and showed to the hairdresser, she didn’t do it right even though she convinced me to bleach my hair to have the correct color but still she didn’t get it right. What I showed her and what she did is totally different. I have color stains on my ears and neck. Highly unprofessional service.Plus hair wash my shirt got all wet. Thoroughly disappointed with the hair dresser.Wasted my time and hard earned money.Never going back.

Kelly Roswell is a wonderful esthetician who Ive been going to for several years. Her facials are so relaxing and my skin is in great condition due to her TLC. All of the ladies at the front desk are always warm and friendly. The spa experience at Looks is something I can definitely and very highly recommend!!

This was my second visit at Looks and I’m even moresatisfied than I was the first time around. I booked with Shelly both times, and she did an amazing job doing my highlights, as well as dying my whole head. She offers great coloring/styling advice and handles my 3b/c curls with lots of care. I don’t easily trust any stylist because of my hair delicacy/texture, but Shelly has yet to disappoint me :) All the ladies there are very welcoming and kind - they check on you often and seem to be a well-knit team. Loved my experience here and I’ll more than likely be back!

The salon is BEAUTIFUL, staff is so kind and welcoming and Alyssa, my hairstylist, was amazingggg. She gave me the haircut I wanted and also gave me advice on products and how to style my hair. She even gave me a print out on the products she used and how to use them. Recently moved to the area and tried Looks based on some recommendations. I was thoroughly impressed! I had a spa pedi and gel mani with Fong and she did an amazing job! She paid great attention to detail, was very friendly, and made it a lovely relaxing appointment. The salon is clean, well kept, friendly, and bustling. I will definitely be back!

Several good hairstyles, but too much inconsistency from one cut to the next and poor customer service at this salon. I left four messages in the hopes of my stylist fixing a bad July haircut (angled in the wrong direction, see below); STILL no phone response. The dealbreaker for me: opportunistic use, without informing me, of a “cancelation” policy fee for a 2nd service my stylist herself canceled due to my later-than-ideal arrival from NJ.This mass-production shop would do well to slow down and consider the experience from the customers point of view: think QUALITY of visit vs. QUANTITY of customers.

Loved my whole experience here. Very warm and professional team. Tre did a fantastic job with my hair, and my son (age 4). We both have wavy/curly hair. She listened to exactly what I was hoping to achieve with both of our cuts, and made it reality. Felt taken care of and pampered the whole time. Looking forward to this being my go-to spot, and Tre as my regular stylist!

While I love the cut, I was not impressed with the service as a new client and don’t see myself returning for the salon services. I was recommended to Looks by fellow curly haired friends who had seen the Deva Curl stylist. Unfortunately I didn’t have time for a Deva Cut, so I scheduled a regular haircut believing experienced stylists could still manage my hair thickness and texture. The facility is beautiful, clean and check-in was seamless, but beyond that, I felt rushed from the wash to the “style”. My stylist was knowledgeable about hair but gave the impression she just wanted to get me in and out because I was a simple cut and dry. She sat me under the dryer and told me to return to her station once it was done. My curly hair was crunchy and heavy from product, so it ended up losing some of its pattern or ringlets of curls bulked into one big ringlet :( When I did return, another client was now in the chair being cut, so she had me stand to the side, clipped a little more off then took me to the front desk, asked if I wanted product and handed me off to the receptionist to pay. I was hoping that I’d love my experience since this salon is closer than my usual one in Ellicott City, but I’d rather make the drive and pay a little more for hair stylists who offer a more tailored individual experience, even if it’s for a simple cut and dry.

I saw Alysa for a curly cut last week and she made my hair look AMAZING!! She was super sweet and always asked if I had any questions about products, styling, etc. I felt very comfortable in her chair and trusted her with my unruly curls right away. She also gave me info about the products she used and ones she would recommend I use which was very helpful. I cant wait to see her again soon!

I have been patronizing Looks for many years and have always been extremely happy with every aspect of my visit. There are multiple receptionists so you rarely wait to pay or majestic future appointments. My stylist, Cheryl, is amazing and talented, and always does a great job. The shampoo technicians do a great job, too. The salon is always clean, but now many precautions are being taken to keep everything sanitary and everyone safe. I was completely comfortable there on a recent visit. I highly recommend this business.

I have long wavy/curly hair and a lot of it. I’ve been trying to find someone for years who knows how to cut my hair type well so that I could wear it styled or natural. Finally I found looks and made an appointment with Ana after describing my hair to the receptionist and going with their recommended stylist. I am so beyond happy with my hair. She was obviously very experienced, super kind, and no bs. I’ve gotten so many compliments on my hair and I’ll definitely be back. I would HIGHLY recommend this salon and Ana.

I got a curly hair cut from Amanda Payne on 9/18/2020 and she was wonderful. She gave me exactly the hair cut I wanted. Ive been waiting years for her schedule to open up! Get in as a new client ASAP if youre looking for someone who knows all textures and does great shapes. The staff are professional and the place is HUGE. I was the only one in there first thing in the morning, and everyone wore a mask. Very well run shop.

The staff were very polite and friendly but I do have a problem with my dye job. I dont know if the foils were taken off too early or what but in the two weeks since my appointment my hair has gotten a lot darker. Ive used the correct shampoo. I went in and asked to lighten my hair but now its at least a shade darker than originally. Everyone was very nice and its probably just a one-off but if you plan to lighten your hair you might want to look elsewhere beforehand.

I was referred by a friend and I hope I can repay the favor. My experience here was extremely positive - from the front desk receptionist who gave me a tour of the facility at the beginning of my visit (and who also processed my payment at the end) to my visit with my stylist, Amanda. The place is clean and sanitized. They make it easy to use the hand sanitizer before and after using the pens to fill out your information. Everyone wore a mask and the staff/client ratio was minimal. Amanda is amazing and was thorough in her explanation of what she was doing. I also thought the music list/station they had playing was current yet appropriate and the volume was at a good level. The entire atmosphere was professional yet relaxed. I did not feel rushed and overall felt comfortable and welcomed. Would highly recommend.

Right when you walk in, the staff at Looks makes you feel at home. They were enthusiastic and helpful, offered me a tour and coffee. My stylist, Lucy, took her time talking to me about the look I was going for. She offered different options before we settled on one. Everyone was so accommodating, offering me more water and cookies, making sure I was taken care of. I noticed the staff wiping everything down as well in an effort to keep things germ-free. Theresa the shampoo girl gave a relaxing scalp massage and even offered to put my feet up. Lucy’s cut and color look amazing, and she even took the time to show me how to style it myself. This is the place to go if you want to be treated like royalty.

I been getting Deva cuts from Amanda for about 2 years or so. She listens to what I want, looks at my pictures, and we go from there. Great cuts for curly-hair individuals. Salon was very clean. Everyone was professional.

Laurie Hill has always done a professional job and is very personable. My wife has been using her for years. In years past I have mostly gone to Sports Clips because it is less expensive and I only need a regular cut; however, I will probably be using Looks from now on.

I have curly hair and saw Alysa for a Deva Cut. Ive struggled for years to find someone who I am comfortable with cutting my hair. After a not so great experience, I had been cutting my hair for about two years. From the moment I sat in Alysas chair, I felt very at ease. She was friendly and listened to what my concerns were and what I wanted from my cut. Ive had many curly cuts and even cuts at the Devachan Salon in New York. Never once has anyone explained how to care for and style my hair as thoroughly as Alysa did. My curls have never looked better!

I come every 5-6 weeks and book my appointments in advance for a few months at a time so that I can schedule with Miranda. Shes been doing my hair for years now and knows exactly how I like to have my hair trimmed/colored every time I come. However, I would not recommend Fawn’s services as a nail technician. I was extremely disappointed and in fact upset with the service (or lack thereof) and the charge for the service.

I had a great experience and felt completely safe. They had me sanitize my hands upon entering, all staff and clients were required to wear masks, there was sufficient social distancing between stations, and everything was sanitized between clients. I would 100% recommend Looks Salon.

She is fun, funny, and an excellent stylist. She routinely asks what look I want. She works fast, with great skill and attention to detail. I walk out ready to appear on the next obligatory Zoom meeting looking and feeling stylish and professional. I’d recommend her in a heartbeat!

Meghan Brown is great! As an introverted adult, I really enjoy my time with her, chatting easily. And shes done a great job with my teenage daughter whos gotten two major change haircuts. Meghan has made her feel comfortable and in control, not anxious about the changes my daughter wanted but in the moment its still a big change to go through.

I am always extremely happy with my hair after a visit with Krystin. She knows exactly what my hair needs in color and cut. Yesterday was my first visit since the pandemic and I was very impressed with the measures taken to ensure client safety. I hadn’t been to Looks Salon since it moved to the Oak Hall Lane location. The new location is bright, roomy, and allows space for a full spa. It was a great experience.The service was great. They sent me a text reminder for the appointment, the receptionists were nice, and the staff was ready on time. They offered drinks and snacks while I waited but there was no wait.My stylist was Alysa and she did a great job with my hair and with my anxiety about getting a new style. She explained everything as she was doing it, she was very nice, she asked for my feedback during, and most importantly my hair looked great after she was done. Just had my first salon visit at Looks since the Covid outbreak began. It was great. Everyone wore a mask (even when getting our hair dyed and washed). Stations were much further apart than usual. Always a wonderful experience at Looks Salon! Ive been going to Mignon for over 20 years and have followed her to different salons. So glad that shes found a forever home at Looks. Everyone who works there seems to love what they do and that matters for the full experience. Was seen here several years ago. Service was fine. Made an appointment this year a month+ in advance and then was called 3 days before the appointment and told that I could not be seen because I was considered a new client and would have to go to the stylists personal website, submit a new client form and await her response to schedule an appointment. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service! While the response states this was due to COVID-19, I was told it was because the receptionist made a mistake and should not have scheduled me for a short time slot and now they couldnt see me in that time frame. Its easy to blame things on the pandemic but thats not the issue in this case.

I get a Brazilian wax from Kelli (KJ), and she’s absolutely the best! We have great conversation while she’s waxing, which relaxes me. I’m very comfortable with her. Also, she’s excited about her profession, so she takes it seriously. She’s always on time, clean and knowledgeable. I go every 4/5 weeks to wax w her.

I have avoided going out because Im high risk. I desperately needed a haircut, and I was apprehensive about going to a salon. My stylists mask often fell below her nose, and she lowered it to drink a beverage and then talked with it below her nose and mouth. While my haircut is amazing, as always, and I love my stylist, I will avoid future visits as long as possible because Im just not comfortable in the salon environment. Five stars for the haircut.

I have gone to Laurie for a number of years, and I am very happy with the way she cuts my hair and the coloring. I also really like the gals who wash my hair. They give you a wonderful head massage after the shampoo.

Anna really listened to what I wanted and gave me a great haircut. My hair is not easy to deal with. Its very fine but dense with all sorts of whirls that makes it go every which way. The cut she gave me works with my hair not against it. Ill definitely be back.

Alysa is the best! This was my second time coming to her for a curly cut, and she brought my curls back to life again! It is a bit expensive, but I think its worth it for how much I love my hair and how well the experience went (especially with COVID right now).

I wanted to try a Deva Cut for the last 8 months since I found out about the curly girl method. I search for places and Looks Salon and Spa has such amazing reviews that I decided to give it a try.... I am so glad I did. Alysa Vega did wonders with my hair, I was looking for definition and keeping the length of my hair as well as how to apply the right products. She took her time explaining to me was she was doing as well as why. She answered all of my questions (which were a lot) and gave me the look that I was waiting for. I never imagined my hair can have that many curls :) I always struggle to keeping my hair in good shape on days 2 and 3, and after my haircut I can achieve that with almost not effort . If you are looking for a new place to get a haircut or a Deva Cut Looks Salon and Spa is the perfect place, and Alysa is a treasure to have. I am looking forward to see her again and see what lies ahead on my curly girl journey. They deserve all the stars that they can get, they are outstanding.
